Remote connection - error 10053,10054

On my computer (WinXP En Prof SP2) I have installed SQL Express 2005 with instance name "SQL2005". Mixed Mode.
I allowed Remote connection to this DB server, enabling TCP/IP protocol on port 1433.
Also SQL Browser is set to autostart.
My firewall is off.
When I try to connect to this server through the CMDline, I use:
sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P test
I only get: "Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Native Client: Client unable to establish connection due to prelogin failure"
If I use:
sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P asdfghjkl (or any password)
the result will be the same.
If I try to connect to the server through the Management Studio, I just get:
"A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error:0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10054)"
or
"A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error:0 - An established connection was aborted byt the software in your machine.)(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10053)"
Next I have installed the new DB on new computer (WinXP En Prof SP2) with the same options (using unattended installation in CMD line) and on this computer it works. It means, that I can establish remote connections to that server with any problems.
I have search on internet to solve this problem bud a I didn't find the solution. I found, that this error relates to winsock layer - WSAECONNABORTED(10053) and WSAECONNRESET(10054) error codes.
But I still don't know, how to solve this and remotely connect to my DB Server...
Thanks for your answers.
Edit 1:
I have tried to uninstall MS Net Framework 2.0, Microsoft SQL Native Client, Microsoft Support Files.
When I try localy connect - it doesn't work, of course.
When I try remotely connect:
"sqlcmd -L" shows, that exists "testpc\sql2005"
"sqlcmd -S testpc\sql2005 -U sa -P asdfghjkl" (or any password) generate the same Error as before - nothing changed
Is it problem of MS SQL Server or MS Windows? How to solve this?

When you performed the installation did you specify the SA password ?
Did you also specify a windows account to be added to the sysadmin group ?
Have you tried via management studio with a windows account to connect ?
Have you confirmed that the SQL browser is started.
Are you trying to connect locally or remotely ? As you have stated you installed SQL 2005 on your computer and you have allowed remote connections I am assuming that you can connect locally via SSMS.  You mention you have turned off the firewall. If
you are connecting remotely have you disabled the firewall on both ?

Does anyone have experience with this issue when connecting to a Linux FTP Web Server running a FTP Site?

I cannot access the root directory of the ftp file server using Web Matrix 3. The site is .php based, and

All sites have been deleted from Web Matrix, the user Application Data has been cleared and Web Matrix has been reinstalled.

Turns out that the program leaves metadata in your app data folder that is not removed upon uninstallation of the software.
This is incorporated to communicate with a file that uploaded into the ftp directory when publishing pages.

    Hi alazarbaharu,
Agree with Kiran. And  also put sqlbrowser.exe into Windows Firewall exception.
According to your number 7 link, I got that you encountered a failure when using sa account to login in SQL Server. To troubleshoot this issue, please follow the steps below.
    1. Make sure that SQL server is in mix authentication mode. In SQL Server Management Studio Object Explorer, right-click the server, and then click Properties, on the Security page, check Server authentication. After changing the authentication mode, we
    need to restart SQL Server.
    2. Make sure the sa login is enabled in SQL Server. In Object Explorer, expand Security, expand Logins, right-click sa, and then click Properties. On the Status page, check if the sa login is enabled, and on the General page, confirm the password.
    Thanks,

The system cannot find the file specified
I have tried from so many forms. This is so frustrating. Thank for everyone/anyone who wants to help. So this is what happened: I had to uninstall my previous sqlserver 2012(which worked great) for some reason, and I uninstalled everything from that download.
Then I installed the trial edition of sql server 2012 (64 Bit) and It wouldn't connect to the database. (Error mentioned above.) My local DB is COWBOYS. (COWBOYS is also my computer name.) After this, I have tried downloading sqlexpress and sqlserver 64bit
many times and cannot connect to my local DB.
How do I connect to my Local DB?
Also, I think this might help: (When I run sqlserve.exe, which I was able to find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\LocalDB\Binn, I get an error: Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(Error getting
instance ID from name). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
I would happily re install it, if it wasn't my 20th time.
I don't have any remote connections, I don't use username/password, only window authentication. I work mostly on visual studio, but without able to store /retrieve data, I don't know how to survive.
May be the solution is very simple, but I am too frustrated.
Some of the things I have tried:
From a command prompt, enter one of the following commands:
net start "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" OR
net start "SQL Server Agent(instancename)"(for instance)
on my sql configuration, I cannot start anything because there is nothing there to start. I can post more details, if that would help. Also, some more details about the error:

Any one that can help me, I will be greatful. Thank you so much. p.s. please ask me anything if you have any questions.

It sounds like there are a couple things going on here.  First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance.  Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error.  If you get an error, post the error message your hitting.  If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect.  If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog.  Ex:  "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name.  However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format.  Ex:  COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install.  Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

  • Network-related or Instance-specfic error when attempting remote connection from SSMS

    Hello,
I have installed SQL Server express on a Win7 desktop and want to connect to it via SSMS on a laptop. I have set up a SQL login on the desktop so I can login, but when I try to connect to the instance from the laptop via SSMS I get the error 26 with saying
there is a network related or instance specific issue and that there is an error locating the Server/Instance specified.
I am trying to connect to a named instance on the SQL Server on the win desktop. Remote connections are enabled and TCP 1433 and UPD 1434 ports are open in Windows Firewall. Antything else I should watch for?
    Thanks

    Hi MrDAndersen,
According to your description, you come across the errors of pre-login handshake and wait operation timing out. Please help to post the full error log for further analysis.
Based on my research, this issue could occur when .NET Framework 4.5 and non-IFS BSP/LSP are installed on the machine, and non-IFS BSP/LSP interferes with the call to Winsock.
To work around the issue, you could use one of the two methods below.
    1. Determine whether a non-IFS BSP or LSP is installed. You could use the "netsh WinSock Show Catalog" command and examine every Winsock Catalog Provider Entry item that is returned. If the 0x20000 bit is clear (not set), it is a non-IFS BSP or
LSP and remove the installed non-IFS Winsock LSPs. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2568167
    2. Download and apply .NET Framework 4.5.2:

    1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
    2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
    3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
    4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
    5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
    6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine.  For example
    a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
    b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
    7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

  • ERROR 14614 on Front End when testing with Remote Connectivity Analyzer

    Hello forum
Does the Lync Remote Connectivity Analyzer not support 128 encryption?
Reason im asking is the following:
When I test my Lync edge server. I get the following error on the RCA result page:  RegisterException.
After this error on the RCA, the event 14614 is logged on my Standard Edition Front end server.
    INFO:
User authentication with NTLM protocol failed with error SEC_E_UNSUPPORTED_FUNCTION. This indicates a potential mismatch between security policy settings on the client and server computers.
Cause: This error can occur if the settings in "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy on the client computer are not the same as the settings in the "Network security: Minimum
session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers" policy on this server.  By default, the "Require 128-bit encryption" setting is disabled for computers running Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003,
Windows 2000 Server, or Windows XP. For computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, this setting enabled by default.
    Resolution:
Ensure that the "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy settings on the computers from which users log on are the same as "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based
(including secure RPC) servers" policy settings on this server.
All of our Lync servers are running on Windows 2012 R2. So why this error from the RCA?

Please check your settings on the client and on the server.
I know, this is a old blog info, but it discribed the problem.

Thanks for the answer, but in this case the "Client" is the Remote Connectivity Analyzer. So my question was, why is it not working with that? Does the RCA not support 128 bit?

Make sure your SQL Server service is started.
Make sure TCP\IP and names pipes protocol is enabled
Make sure you have made an exception in firewall for SQL Server connection
Make sure SQL Server browser service is enabled
Make sure you connect with correct name hostname\instance name for named instance,MSSQLSERVER for default instance and Hotname\SQLEXPRESS for express edition.
Please make sure you use port no when connecting to SQL server listeing on different port (hostname\instance ,portno)

    Problem:
Remote speakers produce clicking sounds when music is streamed from AirPort. Initially iTunes does not display a connection error, but it displays the following after switching from Base Station to Multiple Speaker mode:
"An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "Base Station". An unknown error occurred (-3256)"
The setup worked yesterday, and the Airport Firmware v6.3 and iTunes 6.0.5.20 are installed. I am able to use AirPort Admin Utility from my laptop to remotely change settings and restart the base station.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

So i tried few more things like disable/enable sound card, driver reinstalation, bitrate changing and everything elese i could find here on forums or on the net (pretty much same stuff like here could be find on internet) and strange thing is that no one have same or similar problem like me... i just don't know anymore what to do...

  • Error "The remote connection was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop License Servers available to provide a license. Please contact the server administrator"

    Hi,
I have been using Windows server 2012 at my company and generally take a remote access to this server. However, since last few days, I have been receiving the Error "The remote connection was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop License
Servers available to provide a license. Please contact the server administrator".
My entire work has come to a halt because of this error as all my applications are running this server and their remote access is needed for my regular requirements.
I had tried one of the solutions proposed at one of these forums especially using gpedit.msc but to no avail.
    Regards,
    Aditya

    Hi Aditya,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Agree with the words of armin, please verify that you have properly installed correctly. Verify RDS Licensing service running on License Server. Verify that the client, the RDS server, and the license server can communicate by ensuring that Domain Name System
(DNS) is configured correctly on each computer. You can run the ping command from each computer to each computer using the IP address, FQDN, and the NetBIOS name. If any of the ping commands fail, verify the DNS configuration on the network.
In addition, you can also try “GracePeriod” registry setting on this path (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\RCM) from
    this article.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • RFC connection error between Netweaver 7 EHP1 and Ides ECC6

    Hi Friends,
I try to create  source system  in BI from Netwever EHP1 to IDES ECC6 EHP3.
During the creation I get a connection error, says. check connction parameter.
I checked the parameter, everything is fine. Server, System and number.
When I went to the SM59 and created a connction.
I.E. with the same parameter like system = 06 and server = compi9 gave client 800 etc.
The Host name is resolved to 192.168.2.111 wich is OK.
But when I run the connection test it shows me  "ERROR: partner '80.156.86.78:sapgw06' not reached"
I have no idea where this IP '80.156.86.78" is comming from.
No Problem with the opposite way, from Ides to NW and login to the System is OK too.
Can anybody help me with this problem.
    RG. Jimbob

    Hi,
What is the next screen that comes up when you click on remote logon.
If no screen comes up then:
Check the user type of the user id used for this RFC.
It should be either dialog or service user for able to remote login.
If it open a new window and asks for password, then its excatly password issue.
Also make sure that the password is in numeric and correct.
Also make sure that the current user check box is unchecked.
Even if it dosent work, delete the connection and create again.
    Please award points if helps.
    Thanks
    Santhosh
