Remote desktop application

i want to make an remote desktop application
plz tell me which class's and interfaces i need to implement for my application
i want to make an application where two computers are connected via lan and on the client side i provide a
platform from where we can control the working of other computer
like i can open a folder
open any application
on other computer

Not built-in but separate - Apple Remote Desktop (ARD). Also there is a Windows Remote Desktop for the Mac to connect with Windows machines. Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. ARD is not freeware, but WRD is.

  • HP 1300 wont print from Remote Desktop applications

I have an HP 1300n attached via USB to a windows 7 computer.  I log onto a clien'ts windows 2003 server using remote desktop application.  I have installed the driver to HP 1300 PCL 5 on the remote server and of course it's installed on the windows 7 machine.  I can see the HP via port TSXxx on the remote server but when printing, nothing happens.  The document is sent to the "printer" but doesnt print in my office.   I've tried many solutions and nothing so far works.  I have 3 other windows 7 computers and 3 others HP 1300 and all are experiencing the same thing.

  • How to create Remote Desktop Application in C# or port it from HTML5/JS project ?

    Hi

If can, please suggest for me some solution, example and document.
And I have JavaScript project template Remote Desktop Application. Can i port it to c# ? Or use Webview to show it ?
I were create demo use webview to show it but it not run. Maybe i do some mistake or can't be do it.
    Thanks.

I have no other options.  We already provide the RDP plug-in for JavaScript. I'm not sure what else is needed for this.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with
    undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
My project needs work with C# Windows Store. So I need RDP on C#, not JS. If we don't support C#, do we have a RDP spec on Windows 8.1 so that we can follow that spec to implement with native code to support RDP?

  • Can Thunderbird and Lightning be installed and used as a Windows Server 8 r2 remote desktop application.

Can Thunderbird and Lightning be successfully installed as a remote desktop (terminal server) application on Windows Server 8 r2? In this scenario, users would access Thunderbird and Lightning via Windows (or Linux or Mac) remote desktop connection. Each user has there own home folder and profile on remote desktop server. I want to make sure that an individual user will be able to maintain individual email accounts, folders, settings, etc. as if Thunderbird and Lightning were installed on a stand alone PC. Any tips or things to watch out for in this scenario would be helpful.

There appears to be a problem with Firefox 20 with UNC paths when using roaming profiles on a server.
This is currently investigated and tracked via this bug report.

  • Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro Application Launcher Remote Desktop Services Feed VDI with Windows Store Remote Desktop Client

I wanted to make kiosks which are joined into a domain and set up with an Remote Desktop Web Feed with VDI Desktops (to support Single Sign On and minimize configuration needs on the client side). And I wanted to lock those Clients to launch only the Remote
Desktop Windows Store application. And if somebody clicks on a Desktop Pool then connect to the choosen Pool. But instead of doing this the Remote Desktop application opens the Pool within the old mstsc.exe and right after connecting the OS switches the focus
back to the Remote Desktop Windows Store application. And nobody can work in the office with this configuration.
So how can I correct this problem? Any other solutions? What is the official way to doing this?

    Hi,
Based on my test, we cannot associate .rdp files with the Remote Desktop Windows Store App. Therefore, you may have to use MSTSC or configure the setting in the Remote Desktop
    Windows Store App manually.

  • Apple Remote Desktop and Microsoft Dynamic DNS

Ok, so we are trying to manage Mac in our enterprise. We have bound them to the ActiveDirectory domain so that we can centrally control log on authentication. Now we bought Apple Remote Desktop in an effort manage updates/push packages/make configuration changes, but there is a slight problem: The apple remote desktop application needs to know the IP address of the machines to be able to manage them but our work force is mobile so they VPN into our network and receive an IP from the DHCP pool.
How, then, can we get the mac to update its IP address in our Microsoft DNS system like our Windows machines? Is there an equivalent "register this connection's entry in DNS?" feature in MacOS?

    Hi Paul,
Are you trying to connect to a computer that's connect to the internet with wildblue excede? or are you trying to connect to a computer some where else while your connect to the internet with wildeblue excede?

  • Only Remote-Desktop and Replication with 0.0 Reduction

    Hi guys,
I have a solution with 16 WAAS 4.4.3 and I got good numbers in all default applications except Remote-Desktop and Replication
( All Traffic 53% of Reduction).
I can understand not otimize Remote-Desktop Applications cause the customer is using Metaframe with crypto and already compacted and
    using too RDP with crypto/compacted.
But in the Replication I would expect some gain in Active Directory and MS-FRS Replication.
I got 0.0, Actually, the optmized traffic is biggest that the Original Traffic.
I have to modify something in the Microsoft servers to be able to got reduction in Replication Application ??

As you said, you need to only send the changes over the line.
Java can not tell you what has changed, so you need to either write some JNI, or do a check on the current image, with the last image. (this would eat quite a bit of CPU time on the server).
It might be worth looking at the source for VNC, and other simler products.
The simpliest solution would be to split the image into blocks of x by y pixels, then do a pixel-by-pixel check on that block, and only send the block if it has changed.
Next thing to think about is scrapping RMI, and using raw sockets. RMI has a fair sized overhead.
Zipping a JPEG is unlikely to have any effect. A JPEG is already compressed.
You might want to look at a lossless compression format, like PNG, as the JPEG will have articles. This might be acceptable. If so, changing the compression ratio of the JPEG might be an option.
Finally, the bottle neck might be the call to Robot.createScreenCapture. This is not the fastest method.

  • Remote desktop and RMI

Is RMI the right choice for developing a remote desktop application (sending mouse and keys events and receive screen shots) ?

That's not a reason, that's just a (fallacious) assertion about using RMI for anything. In fact, 'managing the RMI server' is probably the easiest part of RMI.
The reason I said it isn't appropriate is that the communications primitives you need can't be sensibly expressed as procedure calls. You have a stream of screen information flowing between the remote and the peer, and you may have occasional keyboard/mouse events going the other way if you implement remote control. RMI is a completely inappropriate choice for this.

  • Remote desktop and smart card

    Hi.
I need to use a smart card while working with remote desktop.
My office pc runs win XP and have a smart card connected. I can not use that card when working remotly, its not found. Like its disconnected.
I also have a smart card connected to my Mac at home. The smart card works fine when the VPN connection ask for my code.
The problem is that it does not get forwarded. I have tried to use MS Remote Desktop for mac and CoRD.
But none of them supports the smart card.
It works fine with parallels/win7 on my mac, I can then use my smart card.
How ever I would like to not use the win/ on my mac.
Do anybody have a soulution to this? Are there any Remote desktop applications that support forwarding of smart card for Mac OS?
    Thanx for any tips

You can install rdesktop with Smart Card support.
It is fairly easy if you use something like MacPorts, Fink, or Homebrew.
I know MacPorts has a port for it that I used in the past.

  • "remote desktop connection has stopped working" When printing from remote desktop connection

I have been having a issue when using a windows 7 machine. I have Remote Desktop to a session on Windows2008 R2, I am using the local printer resources to redirect the printing. However everytime i try to print it crashes the remote desktop application.
Gives me "remote desktop connection has stopped working." I have 4 other computers connected and printing with no issues what so ever. This only happens when i print. It does print by the way just the application crashes.
-I have also updated the printer drivers to newest possible thru the manufactorer website. The printer is a Brother MFC-8890DW. Windows 2008 R2 is up to date for the RDS server. 3 other machines are able to Remote in and print. The user is able to print using
diffrent machines just not the Windows 7 machine.

    Hi,
Happy to hear that you resolved your issue. For another issue which you are facing here trying to provide some suggestion.
As you have commented that you are facing issue with second screen resolution on wide screen. The setting which I am suggesting can only applies when you are using multi-monitor Remote Desktop connections.  If you are making Connections using a single
monitor do not use this setting.
So for this you can try to apply “Limit maximum display resolution” setting in group policy, where you can mention the width & height for the screen to display. The setting can be applied on below mentioned
    path.
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Remote Session Environment
Meanwhile sharing article with you for more information.

  • Remote Desktop Connection stop working after upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.1

I too could not connect to a W2K3 server with RDC 2.0.1 after upgrading from Mac OS X, 10.5.8 to 10.6/10.6.1. I have another Mac which is on 10.5.8 and connect fine with the same version of RDC 2.0.1 as well as other PC with Terminal Service Clients.
There is no change on the server side. I have uninstalled and reinstalled RDC 2.0.1 several time and it did not resolve the issue. To rule out firewall/network, I tested with another remote desktop application called CoRD (for Mac) on the same laptop running SL 10.6.1 and it connected to the same W2K3 server fine.
One thing that is worth mentioning (in my case), when it does not connect, RDC totally quit (not running anymore. Not minimize, no cannot connect error message, no little dot on the Dock for RDC, nothing) right after I put in the credential in. When looking at the log entries that are related to RDC in the Console application, I see the following
    machine 10.6.1. with RDC 2.0.1 (non-working)

Doing some more troubleshooting after my post above as I saw a couple of entries referencing Stop Light keep popping up in the log of the Console. I removed Stoplight and Cocoa Gesture (for good meausre) and RDC 2.0.1 started working. I think it is Stop Light which causes RDC stop working, but I don't have to time right now to put Cocoa Gesture back to confirm that. I might if I have the time or post here if you have Stop Light installed as well and removing it resolved the RDC issue for you.

  • OS X's Equivilant to Windows Remote Desktop?

I just ordered my first Mac today, a 1.66Ghz Mac Mini, and I was wondering if there is anything similar to the Remote Desktop functionality built in to Windows XP Professional, where simply by knowing the IP address of my computer, I can log into it from home.
I know about Apple's Remote Desktop application for $499, but it seems to be geared more towards corporate administration and not simply accessing one system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know how good it is over internet because I only use for my LAN at home, but you could try Chicken of the VNC

  • Bug when using Remote Desktop

I've found a bug that I have replicated on 3 different computers, all running Vista. Listen to a song in iTunes and pause it. Now, remote desktop to that computer from a new computer. After you're connected, simply disconnect and return to the original computer.
Now, if you press Play, the button changes to the Pause symbol like usual, but it never actually plays. The timebar doesn't advance either.
Is there a fix for this?

You must turn off hardware acceleration in the Firefox 4 browser on the remote PC to allow remote desktop applications to refresh the screen properly. Obviously you will not be able to make this change remotely, as you will not be able to see the menus until after the change is made.
    1. FireFox > options > options> Advanced > Browsing > Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    2. Restart Firefox 4
