  • Atg servers for two weblogic domains

    HI
I have created two domains one for dev and another for bcc
if i deploy the two ears in respective domains
how atg will create atg server instance for these two applications
and also what is the main role of servers folders in atg home directory and also when it will come into the picture
when servers folder will be useful and which scenario  it is useful
and also i have localconfig folder inside atg home directory and also inside C:\ATG\ATG10.1.2\home\servers\dev_publishing folder
what is the main difference between these two localconfig folders
please give me clear picture on it

ATG do not create atg servers. You need to create them manually using makeDynamoServer cmd.
Once the server is created, you need to assemble the ear using the command:
    runAssember -server dev_publishing C:\test\publishing.ear -m <module list>
Then these ears is deployed in each domain which are built with specific ATG server option.
Server folder is configuration layer to override changes to server specific.
atg home directory will override any changed defined in your module.
C:\ATG\ATG10.1.2\home\servers\dev_publishing config layer is on top of atg home localconfig.

    Hi,
you see that message: "The password must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters with at least one number or special character." ?
The password: The weblogic password you provide when prompted
must be at least: minimal condition for secure passwords enforced on WLS by default
at least 8 alphanumeric characters: no 7 but eight or more characters
with at least one number or special character: password should have a number in it or an "@" "-" or similar
    E.g.
    weblogic1
is one password option that would meet that requirement

  • Spring Console extension for weblogic 10.0

    Hi,
I am trying to configure spring console extension for weblogic version 10.0 . As mentioned in some documents, I am unable to find the required jars in the server lib folder, and googled to download it, but yet no success. If any one is aware of where can I get the required jars and steps to configure spring console for version10.0, let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi
To my surprise, When i asked my Server team to get me weblogic support, I got a response from them stating that weblogic will not support spring framework 2.5 and they sent me the link
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13196_01/platform/suppconfigs/configs100/100_over/overview.html#1131715
And asked me to downgrade my project to the supported version.
But I think it is not correct, I don't have information if really my local team contacted weblogic support, or they are just sending me this link based on the document they have.
But I don't understand why it is so hard to get this thing working. Is there many people facing this issue ?
Or every one using apache Axis2 or CFX for web service and spring webservice is not advised ?
Some time I don't know whom should be blamed.
    Thanks

  • There used to be a extension for Safari called "close all tabs". It is no longer on the extension list. Does anybody know why it was removed?

There used to be a extension for Safari called "close all tabs". It is no longer on the extension list. Does anybody know why it was removed?

Mr. Davis answer is essentially what that extension did.  I thank Mr. Davis for this answer as I was not aware of this method.  I only brought this up becasue in Lion there is a nasty habit of Safari opening all previous tabs that where not closed when shuting down the computer.  This can cause a long delay in opening Safari becasue of all the tabs opening up.  The "close all tabs" exstension stopped all this opening process.  I have to assume that Apple replaced the extension with the process that Mr. Davis describes, however, the extension was a lot faster. By the way, I have this extension still and I still use it. I just wanted to pass it on to some other users, but guess I will have to give up on that idea.

  • Configuring weblogic domain for IAM using WLST

    Hi All,
i have to configure a weblogic domain using wlst(off-line).i am able to do this by using wls.jar template but that domain does not contain all the deployable component which is required for IAM ,IDM.
I don't know how to set the configuration component which is required for IAM,IDM as asked configuration wizard aske when we use GUI mode and how to give the schema details.
please give any idea how to configure a domain(for IAM,IDM) using WLST exactly same as GUI mode .
    thanks

I'm not sure what is your problem, but there is no compatibility issue between CSS and Bind normally.
The docuement you referenced only says, in the background section, that the DNS server itself needs to be configured so part of your domain is handled by the CSS.
So, your dns server handles all request for your.domain but there is one NS entry forwarding request for www.your.domain to the CSS so the CSS can answer the dns request.
The css is not able to handle all types of dns request (ie: email server ip address request) so you can configure a 'dns forwarder' on the css to forward the request to another dns server.
See the following for dns forwarder config example
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/contnetw/ps789/products_configuration_example09186a00801d3b52.shtml

  • Why normally we choose dot local extension for domain name

hi....i have one question about choosing the domain name mostly we choose .local extension for the domain why is so whats happen if we choose .com or any other top level domain extension.......2nd part of the question........
i have joined the domain its ok working my domain controller is my dns server as well now form the client computer when i open the google  it works my question is this ....how the query of google.com is resolved as i have a local dns server and in forward
zone its not mentioned what is ip address of google.....is it automatically referred to any other dns server or how its worksss.......??
    Thanks

    Hello,
Explanation of LutzMH about your first question was absloutly complete. It is a choice that administrators make to avoid collision between your local DNS server and global DNS servers.
About your second question I would like to recommend you to take a look at the Name Resolution process. But in a nutshell it is a hierarchy form. When you enter the website in your browsers it first check the local DNS servers and then move along to the
global DNS servers to find the appropriate record. It is worth mentioning that in Name Resolution process, DNS caches plays a key roles as well. For more information about Name Resolution process refer to the link below:
    How DNS query works

  • Principal Name for Active Directory "Domain Users"

    Hi,
I successufully integrated Weblogic & Active Directory Kerberos (SSO). I tested a web application and successifully logined it with authentication.
The system automatically recognized my Active Directory username. It worked.
For authentication in my weblogic.xml I used
    <security-role-assignment>
    <role-name>admin</role-name>
    <principal-name>kursat</principal-name>
    <principal-name>fenerbahce</principal-name>
    </security-role-assignment>
Now I'm trying to allow all domain members to authenticate my application. For my application I only need the actice directory usernames for them.
For this purpose, I removed "kursat","fenerbahce" from my weblogic.xml
    <principal-name>kursat</principal-name>
    <principal-name>fenerbahce</principal-name>
    I added
    <principal-name>Domain Users</principal-name>
instead of writing all domain users.
    However I couldn't authenticate. I got the "Error 403--Forbidden"
Is there anyone can help me?

test by creating a groups under Domain Users and use it as your principal name in your weblogic.xml

  • Timeout waiting for Oracle WebLogic Server v10.3 at localhost to start

I am trying to run .portal file using "Run on server" option in Workshop for weblogic.
After doing this, its trying to start the server Oracle weblogic server v10.3 at localhost and then publish my module.
Server view status shows as "State" as "Starting" and "Status" as "Synchronizing". When status reaches 82% it gets stopped there for a long time, and when 83% comes up, I can see the "State" as "Stopped" and "Status" as "Republish". And then an error window with title as "Problem Occured" and contents saying, Starting server- Oracle weblogic server v10.3 at localhost (Time of error: ...) Details >> Timeout waiting for Oracle WebLogic Server v10.3 at localhost to start. Server did not start after 480s.
But the console tab (when I give the startup & Deployment option as "Launch Weblogic server in eclipse console) shows,

I even tried startup & Deployment option as "Start weblogic server in Expressmode" and still same error I am getting and this time instead of in eclipse console, I can see command prompt and here also showing "Server state changed to STARTING"
FYI, I created domain with runtime JRocket 1.6.0_05.
I even tried to clean build the portal project and publish using clean option. Still same problem coming :(
FYI, my system is having 1 GB RAM only and bit slow. Could this be a problem or something else? Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.
Edited by: gopikrish on Sep 8, 2011 6:20 AM

    Hi Gopikrish
The root cause for your error is, it is not able to start the Pointbase database. Looks like you configured a domain with default pointbase database. In the domain\bin\ one of the starup scripts like startWeblogic.cmd, you should see some lines that start the pointbase database.
java.sql.SQLException: SQL-server rejected establishment of SQL-connection. Pointbase Server may not be running on localhost at port 9093
Instead of starting from Workshop, go to the domain root folder and start the weblogic using the command like startWeblogic.cmd (or .sh on unix). This should start the pointbase and then start the portal domain. Portal domain does need this backend pointbase database to store all the portal meta data and has datasources configured for this.
Do you have a Clustered Portal domain, with one of the managed servers located in the remote machine. If yes, and if you use default Pointbase database, you need to change something like pointbase db should not be localhost but the name of the machine where you have the admin server running.
Either way, the issue is not able to stat the pointbase db and thus serve not starting.
    Thanks

I even tried to create a new domain using Weblogic configuration wizard but don't know where to set the new domain in Jdeveloper as my default connection.
I would be thankful if anybody helps me...Also,I'm using Windows 7 and re-installation of the jdeveloper didn't help

    Hi,
I followed your procedure (removing DefaultDomain folder) and created a new domain using Weblogic Configuration Wizard mostly with default settings. It makes the new configuration folder in Jdeveloper's installed directory instead of 'User Documents and Settings' where the DefaultDomain were located. The startWebLogic.cmd and setDomainEnv.cmd are using this directory as Domain_Home correctly.
    From Jdeveloper menu:
Preferences -> Run -> Edit Server Instances
The ex-DefaultServer with the latter settings is still listed! I wonder why..It cannot be deleted..I even changed the 'Domiain Directory' and 'Server Instance' to the newly created one but still get the same error.

  • Changing schemas for the existing domain

Hello! Is it possible to create a domain using one schema (in this case we've already used the "integration" env schema), but later replace it with a differenct schema for the same domain (we will need to replace this with the "produciton" env schema).
In our use case, we've configured a base_domain with the "integration" schema and had completed all the configuration for SSL and SSO.
In couple of months we will need to use the real "production" schema for this same environment. I am trying to understand the cleanest solution: if it's possible to just replace the schema for the domain somehow, or to create a new domain with the new production schema and complete the SSL and SSO configurations there from scratch.
    Any advice?

Our use case is that we have just finished configuring the "production" environment. However, from the start we coudn't use the Production Database schema, since we would be having a release One of the UCM customization in this environment and it is possible that we would be reverting back to the clean instance of the server and the database after this Customization release. For that we were thinking about simply removing/switching from this old schema and using the new clean "Production Schema", which is already prepared for us for the DB admins.
My questions is that probably I cannot simply "switch" the schema for the already existing domain, but would have to create new domain for WebLogic and configure it the same way as for the first time, plus use the default ports (16200, 7001, 443) for the new domain.
Also, we have done the SSO and SSL configuration for the old domain. I am wondring if we would have to create a new domain, can I simply copy the configuration files for SSO (primarily the keytab file, krb5, etc.) and the certificates for SSL into the new domain, so the switch to the new domain would be seemless, besides some WebLogic reconfigurations, of course?
