Remove Data values above a certain frequency

Hi,
I am analysing the resonance peaks of a vibration frequency spectrum with a bandwidth up to 10KHz, however am only interested in peaks situated between 1 and 4.5kHz. Is there a quick way to automatically remove the channel contents outside the area of interest, using a filter or a simple function?
Excuse my ignorance - Im new to the area!
Thanks
hel

Hello Hel,
just use chnfiltcalc. Based on the channel your frequency values are held in you can set a FiltLowLimit (would be 1 Khz in your case) or a FiltHighLimit (would be 4.5 Khz). As FiltType you'll have to set 'Band pass' for only handling peaks between those limitations. You'll also have to decide on FilterType, FilterStructure and so on. Hope, you're familiar with filtering in general?
Hope this helps, just have a look at the help for further information on the other options required.
The simplest way to configure the chnfiltcalc function would be setting the parameters first (e.g. FiltLowLimit := 1 and afterwards just invoking the chnfiltcalc command.

  • Can not input data when removed the value for seleciton condition

    Dear Experts,
    We met a very strange issue for the IP.
    We create a aggregation level and relatd query for user to key in data.
    We have a filter in the aggregation level.
    It will set value for A,B,C,D
    When user opent he report, system will require user to key in the value for A,B,C,D.
    Now we found that if we key in value for B, cell is input ready.
    If we removed the value in for the B in the selection condition (I mean the value of B is empty, this means tha all the value of B will display in the report), we can not key in data.
    Could you kindly let me kow the reason?
    Thanks and best regards
    Alex yang

    Dear Experts,
    Many thanks for your information.
    I know the principle for the IP.
    But I think you may misunderstanding this issue due to my incorrect explaination.
    First, we think the aggreagtion level is ok. This is due to that for the B in my example, we set its as column value in the query.
    This is means for each record in the IP query, it has only one B value to reflect it.
    But strange things is that if we set fixed value for B, IP input is ok.
    If we removed fixed value for B, IP function is error.
    Now, we will test if we key in multi value for B whether IP input function is ok or not.
    Any update, I will inform you.
    Thanks and best regards

  • Model of how APEX handles data (values)?

    Reference {thread:id=2486655}
    I'm trying to get a model of how APEX handles data (values). There are several places(?) that data (values) can exist. Or so it seems. I'm trying to understand how these work -- to put all the pieces together.
    Question:
    A) Where data can be?
    1) In the database
    2) In the session
    3) Rendered -- and hence displayed on the screen, if a displayed value -- but not in the session
    4) In perhaps(?) some working memory pool(?) but different from the page rendered values I see on the screen?
    5) Other?
    Why do I think this is relevant?
    Question:
    B) If there are rendered values and session values different from the rendered values, then when code executes, which of these values (rendered or session) is it executing against?
    And maybe the answer is, "You don't understand what's going on." Yes, "Exactly!" Hence the question.
    Best wishes,
    Howard

    Howard (DBA in Training) wrote:
    I'm putting this together now. For example:
    I set the value of a Page Item (say, :P2_DATA) to "BEFORE" in a Before Region process and change it to "AFTER" in an After Region Process. 'BEFORE' was displayed on the screen but 'AFTER' was in the session state. So I see that PL/SQL changes these values in the session state. But it doesn't "go back" to change the HTML after the region has been rendered -- hence we see BEFORE shown on the screen. (I'll have to think about what a Dynamic Action does.)
    Also, if a page item has a default value, say 'DEFAULT' then that value doesn't get into the session state. At least, not with my current settings. Oh, that explains a lot of confusion!! I suppose there's a logical reason for this but who would expect default values to be differently from other PL/SQL operations on the item?
    Questions:
    1) So why does a default value not get put into the session state?Several reasons, among them:
    *1. When/why is the value required?* Region items (and thus their source and default values) are rendered in region/item sequence order. The item's source/default value would therefore not be available in session state until it's rendering point. This is frequently later in page show processing than the value is actually required, such as the common use case of including a data value in the page or region title. Setting the value in a Before Header/Regions computation or process makes it available as required before the item is actually rendered.
    *2. The rendered page might not be submitted.* Default values are typically set when a page will create a new row. Consider the situation where the user clicks a "Create" button and is presented with an order entry form containing several default values. They then decide they don't want to create a new order after all, and navigate away from the form page via some mechanism that uses a redirect rather than a submit (such as a default "Cancel" button). This means that no page submit processing is performed, and generally that no session state management is performed. If the default values were set in session state, the order entry page would contain the default values for the non-existent order despite the user never submitting it. This may have unwanted side-effects if these values are referenced elsewhere in the application, and therefore would require extra session state management to be built into the application.
    *3. A rendered item might not be submitted with the page.* Per the HTML specification, the values of disabled controls unchecked checkboxes are not POSTed on page submit. Consider a situation where a checkbox item is set with several default values, but the application requires that the checkboxes be cleared and disabled by a dynamic action if the user chooses certain options from a select list. In this case, on page submission no values are submitted into session state for the checkbox item. If the defaults had been set in session state, then the application would be in an inconsistent state, with the user-selected option indicating that none of the checkboxes were checked, but with session state holding values showing that they were. This would require additional processing to ensure that the application's state was consistent before saving it to the database.1
    2 & 3 are particularly significant in basic wizard-generated applications. Doing things in this way, the wizard-generated DML and navigation "just works", without the need for additional session state management.
    2) Is there a Page Item setting that causes the default value to be saved to the session state?No. Hopefully the explanations above provide sufficient reason to show why this is genearlly not desirable. On the rare occasions when it is required, set the session state value using a computation or process.
    1 There are other reasons&mdash;mainly security related&mdash;that make it good practice to perform such checks in more complex and internet-facing applications anyway.

  • Function to "Fill" Data Values

    Hello,
    I have a requirement where the user will enter a paritcular data value on the data form for an intersection. This will be at a parent level. Once they enter it I need to fill in the SAME value for all of its children.
    I am unable to find a function that I could use to FILL in the same value. Can anyone suggest me how can this be achieved?
    Thank you.
    ~ Adella

    I have this requirement in my current app: Users can enter leaf level data or parent level data at multiple levels. As I hate/fear/loathe the concept of target versions, what I did was programmatically create _input members as follows:
    Parent1
    |_Parent1_input
    |_ChildA
    |__ChildA_input
    |__Grandchild1
    |__Grandchild2
    |__Grandchild3
    |_ChildB
    |__ChildB_input
    |__Grandchild4
    |_Parent2
    |__Parent2_input
    etc.
    I did this for five generations and then threw attribute dimensions (five separate ones) against each one of the generations of the _input.  In turn that drives the allocation input forms. And to make it just that little bit more convoluted, I created special versions to contain each one of the levels. There is method to this madness.
    What I could then do is aggregate up each level input (remember, only Parent or Child or whatever could show up on the form and could thus get a total for all pool numbers without impacting the other input data. Then users (and managers who override numbers , sometimes) can run simple percent of total allocations against the parent member of the _input member with code that looks like this:
         FIX("Working")
         /*     Aggregate Product     */
         FIX("Prod4Alloc")  /*Version*/
              AGG("Product") ;
         ENDFIX
         FIX("Working")
              FIX(@REMOVE(@RELATIVE(@MBRPARENT([varGlblProduct]), 0), @LIST(@ATTRIBUTE("Prod5Yes"), @ATTRIBUTE("Prod4Yes"), @ATTRIBUTE("Prod3Yes"))))
                   FIX("AllocExp")
                        SET CREATEBLOCKONEQ ON ;
                        "Budget" = ("Sales" / @ANCESTVAL("Product", -2, "Sales")) *
                                            @ANCESTVAL("Product", -2, "AllocateThis"->"PL4Alloc") ;
                   ENDFIX
              ENDFIX
              AGG("Product") ;
         ENDFIXThe way that FIX works is it goes after the parent of the member in the page dropdown and then excludes any of the _input members by using attributes.  @MBRPARENT is key here because you can stick that in a FIX -- @PARENT has been around forever but was unusable in FIXes.  Within the FIX it's a simple percent of parent allocation.  I use @ANCESTVAL to get me the right number of levels up and yes I need separate BRs -- I should really stick them ito a macro and drive it off of a parameter.  That's it -- slightly confusing but it works really well.
    An alternative is to use the @ALLOCATE function and then drive the amount, range, etc. through a RTP but that was way to labor intensive for the users (not for me obviously) and I couldn't hold on to the data value in my app's context and that bugged me to no end.
    As I read the above, it seems like sort of a complicated approach but really it isn't and it's quite fast. The code above is POC stuff so no, I don't really use members called "AllocateThis".

    You could easily change the code above to simply agg up to the parent and then instead of spreading as percent of parent just assign the parent value.

  • Remove 0 Value in Calculated Field

    I copied the below question for another post here as it asks the question perfectly.
    "I set up an invoice form to calculate totals from quantity x unit price. Every line has this formula, however the users may not have a priced item on every line of the form. My total column shows a $0.00 value until I input data. I'd rather have nothing show in that column unless quantity and price are entered. Is that possible?"
    However, and I apologize, but I don't understand the answer that was posted. This is the first time I've needed a calculated field -- and I've not done scripting in Acrobat before.
    Can someone walk me through the exact steps of how to enter and what to enter in the form to remove "0" values from the form?
    Thanks, in advance, for any and all help.

    Thanks, again, so much. I think I got it, the procedure that is! But, but the 0 is still there.
    This does now sound like a simple thing if you know the code. But apparently I'm not there yet!
    This is what I did.
    Under Advanced, Document Processing, JavaScript Functions.
    Entered two different scripts, as follows (this is exactly how I entered them):
    SCRIPT 1
    Name: ds_format
    Script:
    function ds_format()
    if (+event.value) {
    //$ format for nonzero values
    AFNumber_Format(2,0,0,0,"$",true);
    } else {
    //Don't show anything if result is zero event.value="";}
    SCRIPT 2
    Name: ds_keystroke
    Script:
    function ds_keystroke() {
    AFNumber_Keystroke(2, 0, 0, 0, "$", true);
    Then, under the calculated field properties (in my case, Total Cost),
    Format Tab, Custom Format, Custom Format Script section, I selected edit and typed in:
    ds_format();
    Ditto above, but under Custom Keystroke Script:
    ds_keystroke();

  • Removing duplicate values from selectOneChoice bound to List Iterator

    I'm trying to remove duplicate values from a selectOneChoice that i have. The component binds back to a List Iterator on the pageDefinition.
    I have a table on a JSF page with 5 columns; the table is bound to a method iterator on the pageDef. Then above the table, there are 5 separate selectOneChoice components each one of which is bound to the result set of the table's iterator. So this means that each selectOneChoice only contains vales corresponding to the columns in the table which it represents.
    The selectOneChoice components are part of a search facility and allow the user to select values from them and restrict the results that are returned. The concept is fine and i works. However if i have repeating values in the selectOneChoice (which is inevitable given its bound to the table column result set), then i need to remove them. I can remove null values or empty strings using expression language in the rendered attribute as shown:
    <af:forEach var="item"
    items="#{bindings.XXXX.items}">
    <af:selectItem label="#{item.label}" value="#{item.label}"
    rendered="#{item.label != ''}"/>
    </af:forEach>
    But i dont know how i can remove duplicate values easily. I know i can programatically do it in a backing bean etc.... but i want to know if there is perhaps some EL that might do it or another setting that ADF gives which can overcome this.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards

    Hi,
    It'll be little difficult removing duplicates and keeping the context as it is with exixting standard functions. Removing duplicates irrespective of context changes, we can do with available functions. Please try with this UDF code which may help you...
    source>sort>UDF-->Target
    execution type of UDF is Allvalues of a context.
    public void UDF(String[] var1, ResultList result, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    ArrayList aList = new ArrayList();
    aList.add(var1(0));
    result.addValue(var1(0));
    for(int i=1; i<var1.length; i++){
    if(aList.contains(var1(i)))
         continue;
    else{
    aList.add(var1(i));
    result.addValue(var1(i));

  • Removing Null values from character string

    Hi All,
    Can i remove NULL values (hexadecimal - 0000) from character string. I am uploading a file from presentation layer (shared server) and getting NULL values in many fields which i want to remove.
    please assist.
    Thanks for you help..

    Hi,
    Most likely, nobody needed it, but if anybody in future will need the solution for related problem  - here's solution:
    data: lv_nullchar type xstring value '0'.
    shift lv_xstring right deleting trailing lv_nullchar in byte mode.
    shift lv_xstring left deleting leading lv_nullchar in byte mode.
    This hack deleting null chars in lv_xstring at end file and at begining of file. Works perfect for me, where i also worked with files.

  • Remove Blank Values from Slicer in Power View

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a power view report from a power pivot data model. After creating the model when I try to use the slicer in power view I am seeing the Blank record. Then I checked that dimension in model where I don't have any blank value in there.
    Also I checked in fact table where it has a relationship with that dimension and I don't see any blank value there as well.
    I am currently blocked with this issue. Experts please jump in and give some ideas how to remove blank value from there.
    Thanks

    As MM-99 already stated correctly, the BLANK-member is created if there is one or more non-matching row in your fact-table that does not exist in the dimension-table
    maybe you have some issues with upper and lower case?
    or maybe there are some whitespace characters contained in the text?
    to identify the issues you may want to create a calcuated column in your fact-table as =RELATED('DimTable'[MyKeyColumn])
    then you can filter on that column and see if any blank values appear

  • How do remove commitment value in the PO ? any SAP note avl?

    Hi,
    Project (WBS)releated service PO (Account assignment category P and Item category D), in which SES,GR,IR have been completed for entire Project services for the year 2005,PO history also updatd for SES, GR,IR in the 2005 only.But Now system is showing still commitment value in the PO for the year 2009?.
    Henece how do remove the inconsistency of the  commitment value in the PO for the year 2009?. (i.e value is comming from COOI table entry).Is there any SAP NOTEs are available for this case?
    Note:
    But this case no PR has been refered in the PO. PO has been directly created, and PO  QTY,Value changes have not been done after SES,GR,IR completion.
    But still system  commitment value is showing in the PO for the year 2009, so HOW do remove the value?
    i am looking suitable answers.
    Regards,
    kumar

    Hi,
    Pre-requisites for a commitment update are:
    o  In transaction OKKP, the commitment management indicator must be
           active for the given controlling area in the current fiscal year.
    The controlling area is the highest organizational unit in Controlling,
    however this area is missing from the accounting data of the PO.
    o  The accounting objects must be active for commitments:
    -  Work orders: The commitment management indicator must be set
              in transaction KOT2 for the given order type.
    -  Cost centers: In transaction KS02, in register "Control", the
              commitment update indicator must NOT be set.
    -  Projects: see note 47992
    o  In transaction CUNI, the unit of measurements used at item level
           must be set to value based commitment.
    Please check the following notes 152571, 634298, 459509 and
    772206 carefully and also 165823.
    Please check also if the "delivery complete" indicator is set in the PO item (see note 735404).
    Usually for service POs the "Delivery completed" indicator will be
    hidden and this indicator is fully controlled by the "final entry
    sheet" indicator in ML81N. You must allow to set this indicator trough a field selection customizing for your PO item.

  • How to pass date value to an UDF

    Hi,
    I am working in SDK UI. I have created a form. In this form there is a edit text box. I have to pass a date value to that object. I have taken a variable and pass a date value in "yyyy/mm/dd" format. When I am assign this variable to the object to pass the date value to that object then I am getting an error. The error is "Unable to cast object of type 'system.string' to 'system.IFormatProvider' ".
    I have written the code like this :------>
    Dim AtenDate As String
    AtenDate = '2007/08/01'    ' format "yyyy/mm/dd"
    Dim txtEditDt As SAPbouiCOM.EditText
    oItem = oForm.Items.Item("11")
    txtEditDt = oItem.Specific
    txtEditDt.String = AtenDate.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy")
    After the last line the error is getting fire.
    Please help me how I can pass the date value to that object.
    Please help me. It is very urgent.

    Date and Double conversion is really a confusing thing in B1-SDK programming in the beginning.
    But once you got it it's okay.
    When working with date-time and doubles (System and SBO-Price/SBO-Quantity),  you should always take care about the language of...
    ...system (windows)
    ...SBO User Interface
    These two formats could make trouble when the programming has been made only for a specific configuration of these two.
    The third format for SDK-Programming is
    ...the SBO-DB-Format, which is language-independent and always a String
    Here are some rules:
    <b>EditText.String</b> ALWAYS returns the value you see on the SBO GUI. It depends on the SBO Date, Price etc.-Format the USER has configured in the Administration. Consider that the user has (for example) the possibility to choose a "#" (or whatever) as decimal-seperator. Direct (implicit) conversion of such a string to a double will fail at the latest now.
    The savest way to get a .NET-Double or DateTime- Value from EditText.String are the conversion methods of  SBOBobs-Object (see SDK-help -> BoBridge, Format_MoneyToString...etc.).
    I think it's a good idea to write some wrapper functions for that methods, cause they always need a recordset which blows up the code too much.
    <b>EditText.Value</b> always (system/sbo-language independent) returns the value as a String in DB-Format (Double as "12345.126700" and date as "20070930".
    For that you must asure that the EditText is bounded to a format-corresponding datasource. Price, Quantitiy.... if you need a double.
    If your "price"-field would be bound to ShortText and the user wants (assuming the example from above) a "#" for decimal-point, then a GUI-seen value like "12,421#12" is also returned as "12,421#12" by EditText.Value. But If bound to Price-DataSource it's "12421.120000"
    => So always do a DataBind to the Data - Type which is needed is recommended for this to work!
    In my case EditText.String and -Value is mostly (only...? needed for B1-System-Forms where using of DataSources is restricted.
    The prefered way of read/write values is the
    <b>UserDataSource.ValueEx and DBDataSource.GetValue/SetValue</b>-method. It's also always in DB-Format as EditText.Value before, but gives much more performance.
    Once you got some conversion-functions for "DB-Format-String" to ".NET-DataType" and vice verca (I've defined some .NET - System.Globalization.XXXFormatInfo-Objects for that) all of your problems are things of the past

    Just to be sure I was correct in the first place. Perhaps you should have done likewise before continuing stick to your guns.

  • Using an index to access the last n values of a certain combination

    I have a large table of the following form:
    Name Typ
    ID NUMBER
    M_DATE DATE
    M_LOC NUMBER
    M_ARTICLE VARCHAR2(30)
    M_TYPE VARCHAR2(30)
    M_MEASURE VARCHAR2(50)
    VALUE NUMBER
    In this table there is only a small number of different locations, articles, types and maesures but a large number of m_date values.
    I want to access the last 10 values for a certain combination of locations, articles, types and measures.
    I have an index
    create index i_res_2 on results (m_loc, m_article, m_type, m_measure, m_date);
    In my opinion it should be possible to access the last 10 values directly by this index, but
    when I do my select in the following way it seems to me that first all datasets with the same
    locations, articles, types and maesures are selected, then sorted by date and then the last 10
    dates are selected. As those datasets are spread over the whole table it needs a higher number
    of physical reads. Is there a way to have an index on m_date and an other form of this query
    that selects the requested values with less phyical reads? (Database version is 10.2)
    SQL> select
    2 id,
    3 m_date,
    4 value

    9 value,
    10 rank() over (order by m_date desc) r
    11 from results
    12 where m_loc = '14001'
    13 and m_article = '11211-00-00'
    14 and m_type = '0002'
    15 and m_measure = '032')

    I found a solution, which is much better in terms of physical reads and consistent gets even if the optimizer calculates higher costs. But I still think, that there should be an easier way to do this:
    SQL> select
    2 id, m_date, value from results
    3 where
    4 (m_loc, m_article, m_type, m_measure, m_date)
    5 in

    8 select /*+ first_rows(10) */ m_loc, m_article, m_type, m_measure, m_date
    9 from results
    10 where m_loc = '14001'
    11 and m_article = '11370-00-00'
    12 and m_type = '0002'
    13 and m_measure = '032'
    14 order by m_loc,m_article,m_type,m_measure,m_date desc
    15 ) where rownum < 10);
