Remove garbage text from fields SQL server 2000

I have a SQL server db that just got hacked. I am using
CFQUERYPARAM in all my queries, but somehow still got hacked. It
corrupted data and I know I can do a restore, but I don't want to
lost anything. How can I, for example, remove all garbage
characters to the right of a valid file name?
For example: poppies.png"></title><script src="
http://sdo.1000m
Only poppies.png is valid - the rest I need to remove. How
can I do this with a ColdFusion query? The double quote marks keep
throwing off anything I attempt.

Hi There, To clean up your data, you can select the records
with text you don't want in your database. Then loop through the
tables infected and run update query like this one below :
<cfloop example condition>
<cfquery name="UpdCleanDB" datasource="#Request.DSN#"
username="#Request.user#" password="#Request.pass#">
UPDATE TableName
SET InfectedColumnName
= REPLACE(InfectedColumnName,'"></title><script
src="
http://sdo.1000m','')
WHERE InfectedColumnName like
'%"></title><script src="
http://sdo.1000m%'
</cfquery>
</cfloop>
Either run this T-SQL on Sql Query Analyzer to clean your
data. Remember to Secure your application by setting the code below
into your Application.CFM file:
<!---SQL injection attack --->
<cfif FindNoCase("EXEC(", CGI.Query_String) OR
FindNoCase("EXEC(", CGI.Script_Name) OR FindNoCase("EXEC(",
CGI.Path_Info)>
<cfabort>
<cfelseif FindNoCase("CAST(", CGI.Query_String) OR
FindNoCase("CAST(", CGI.Script_Name) OR FindNoCase("CAST(",
CGI.Path_Info)>
<cfabort>
</cfif>
Hope that is well.

  • Migrating Japanese Characters from MS SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 9i usng Jsp

    Hi ,
    I have a situation where the Japanese characters are to be migrated from MS SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 91 and then render the same using JSP.
    I followed the below approach,
    1. Extract the Japanese data from MS SQL Server and generate an XML
    2. Parse the XML and store it into Oracle 9i database which is of UTF-8 encoding.
    3. On retreiving and rendering using the Shift-JIS adds few junk characters additionally.
    When I try to copy paste the Japanese contents from XML to a text file, it is working fine.
    Could some one help me in resolving this issue?
    It is very urgent, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    There is documentation in the reference guide sent with the workbench, there is this discussion forum, the support web page (which includes tech notes and FAQ's), and the company specific procedural language documentation.
    There is also an older document for use with the old sybase toolkits which may be obscelete, and there are some internal documents which were for internal consumption.

  • Migrating 250gb from ms sql server 2000 to oracle

    Hi,
    i am trying to migrate data from sql server 2000 to oracle. I have tried the online method and it takes more than a day to copy one table with 250 million rows. Currently i am trying the offline method of using migration scripts with sql loader.
    this also seems to be taking a very long time for the single table with 250 million rows. Is there an effective way of doing this? please help
    thanks

    Well, lets look at what you're doing. You're using jdbc/odbc to move 250,000,000 rows. thats like using a straw to pump gas. We recommend that any migration over 10-20 MB should be done using the offline data move.
    A couple of questions
    1. How fast does the bcp go? How long does it take to complete?
    2. When using SQL Loader, are you loading it in raw format? Have you switched off any indexes on the table? Do you have the capability to load in parallel?
    Theres a lot you can do with the SQL Loader side to make it a lot fast. You might also want to consider dropping a note on the database forum too.

  • Oracle/XML Question from MS SQL Server 2000 Developer

    With Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Transact-SQL I can query a database and my results will be returned as an XML document. I need not do any further programmatic processing to transform my resultset into XML.
    I really know nothing about Oracle. That said, is this functionality available with Oracle/PL-SQL? And, if you could specify an URL where I might read up a bit on this, I'd really appreciate the point in the right direction.

  • Problem in Loading Data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. I am using a surrogate key column in my target table alongwith the natural key. The natural key is populated by the primary key of my source table, but for the surrogate key, I have created a sequence in my oracle schema where the target table exists and have used the following code for mapping:
    <%=snpRef.getObjectName( "L" , "SQ_PRJ_DIM_REGION" , "D" )%>.nextval
    I have chosen to execute this code on target.
    Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
    When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:
    select * from NOVELTYFURNITUREDW.PRJ_DIM_REGION
    But when i press OK to run it, I get this error message:

    Hi Cezar,
    Can u plz help me with this scenario?
    I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
    Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error
    "-CDC_SET_NAME=Exception getObjectName("L", "model_code", "logical_schema", "D") : SnpLSchema.getLSchemaByName : SnpLschema does not exist" "
    Please let me know how to make it work?
    Do I need to create separate data models each including only those tables which appear in their corresponding interface and package? Or do I need to create multiple packages each with only one journalized interface to populate only one target table?
    Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Neel

  • [SQL SERVER 2000] Generic table exporter

    Hello every body.
    First of all sorry for my bad english but I'm french ;-)
    My internship consits into making a generic table exporter (with a table list). Export into csv files.
    I have tried 2 solutions :
    1 - Create a DTS with a Dynamic Properties Task. The problem is I can easily change the destination file but when I change the table source I don't know how to remap the transformations between source and destination (do you see what I mean ?). Any idea ?
    2 - Use the bcp command. Very simple but how to do when tables contains the separator caracter ? for example : If a table line is "toto" | "I am , very happy" --> the csv file will look like this : toto, I am , very happy --> problem to get back the data ( to much comma ).
    Does someone has a solution ?
    Last point is how to export the table structure ? For the moment, using the table structure, I generate an sql query which creates a table (I write this query in a file). Isn't there any "cleaner" solution ?
    Thanks in advance and have a nice day all

  • SQL Server 2000 and accented characters

    Is there anyone else out there that has had the following problem? IO am using Microsoft's own JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000 to retrieve some information from one SQL Server 2000 database and deposit it in another. Both datbases use the same collation, namely Finnish_Swedish. However when the driver lifts Swedish characters, namely , , and out of one database, it replaces them with strange characters. For example, the name SJBERG becomes SJ?BERG. The strange thing is that such transfers worked just fine with SQL Server 7. I would really appreciate some help with this, since my comapny is dealing with this issue in two client installations.
    Thanks!
    /Arthur Gaudio

    Ok, managed to find the solution myself. If anyone else has this problem, I would recommend downloading JDBC Driver Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. You can find it on Microsoft's home page :
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4f8f2f01-1ed7-4c4d-8f7b-3d47969e66ae&DisplayLang=en
    One of the issues that has been fixed is that Latin collations were not being tranlated correctly to unicode, except for the Greek lanuage (?). Seems to have also been the case for Finnish_Swedish.

  • Converting SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 9i

    Hi,
    I am working on the migration of stored procs from a SQL Server 2000 database to Oracle 9i. The sqlsrvr db contains 75 relatively complex procs using temporary tables to create intermediate resultsets for further processing.
    The Oracle 9i environment has very strictly standards and temporary tables are not allowed.
    Is it standard practice to use PL/SQL tables to simulate the functionality of temp tables?
    I understand you can now use SQL against PL/SQL tables under certain circumstances.
    I would envisage using the PL/SQL tables in multi-table joins with schema tables.
    Any ideas whether I am going down the wrong path.
    Thanks in advance,
    Garrett Donnelly

    Garrett,
    Note that there is also an parser option to 'Generate8i temp tables', where the data in the permanent tables is seperated from other sessions by the use of an extra Session id colum.
    Please post the results of your PL/SQL table experiences.

    Thanks in advance.Are you saying you will only have one database? Are your sql statements atomic? If they are just use sql server and JDBC with autocommit on. If not, you can still just use sql server and jdbc and turn autocommit off, and explicitly control the transactions yourself. If your app is a web application, you can probably use the web container to control the transactions.
    If you are going to have more than one database, or a database and another datasource, then you'll have to look at a transaction manager or application server. If you do, you'll have to have the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator running as well.

  • MS SQL Server 2000 - Oracle 8.1.7 nvarchar problem.

    Hello all,
    I move my database from MS SQL server 2000 to the Oracle 8.1.7 (W2K platform) and note, that Oracle Migration Workbench (ver 9.2.0.1.2 build 20020910) create wrong SQL Server model. In my SQL Server table I have one column with nvarchar type with length equal 3000 (for example) , but Oracle Migration Workbench create corresponded table in SQL server model with nvarchar type BUT with length equal 6000. I note that it multiply the length of nvarchar and nchar types by 2 and as a result in Oracle model that column has a CLOB type.
    Is anyone has any ideas how to fix it?
    Best regards,
    Victor Conovalov

    Hi Victor,
    this is a bug in the OMWB - bug 2632100. Can I suggest that you use the OMWB to migrate the database schema only to Oracle (i.e in step 3 of the Migration Wizard, choose 'No' when asked 'Do you want to migrate the table data to Oracle'). Your database schema should migrate as uaual. Then use Enterprise Manager to change the offending column types from 'CLOB' back to 'NVARCHAR' and also half the length.
    Alternatively, you can generate the generate migration scripts from the OMWB Oracle Model (details in the reference guide and user guide) and edit the scripts so that you can change the offending column types from 'CLOB' back to 'NVARCHAR' and half the length. These scripts can then be used to generate the schema and stored programs in the Oracle Database.
    You can then use the OMWB to generate SQL*Loader scripts (more details in the reference guide and users guide) so that you can move the data to your Oracle database.
    I will keep the bug updated with any news of a fix.
    I hope this helps,
    Tom.

  • Workarounds for searching a text field in SQL Server 2000

    Hi,
    I have a need to search within a text field in SQL Server 2000. In the
    limitations section it notes that this is not possible. Is there a
    recommended workaround for this in terms of performance? I have no way
    of knowing the length of the text field in advance, and this could be
    fairly large. Also, the number of objects that could contain the text
    can be fairly large as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Khamsouk

    Note that some databases (or Oracle, at least) provide alternatives to
    LIKE '%foo%' that are more efficient for large text blocks, given that
    you have the appropriate indexing plugins etc. etc.
    To use one of those types of search operators, you'd have to put
    together a custom extension.

    Like I said, I'm by no means a SQLServer pro, but I just ran:
    SELECT CLOBSTRINGX
    FROM LOCATORTESTOBJECTX
    WHERE CLOBSTRINGX LIKE '%o%';
    and got back my test row with 'foo' in the CLOBSTRINGX column.
    CLOBSTRINGX is a TEXT column.
    So, it is possible that our stringContains() extension will just work.
    But then again, maybe not. I'm guessing it will.
    Give it a try and, if you get an error, post the generated SQL (turn on
    SQL output by setting the com.solarmetric.kodo.Logger property to
    'stdout') and the error that you get. Also, try executing the generated
    SQL directly against your data store to see if it works there.

    Basically I just want to use kodo's extended stringContains syntax on a
    text field. Is this possible?

    I'm not intimitely familiar with SQLServer's text searching
    capabilities, but I'm confident that you could create a query extension
    that would do what you need it to do.
    What is the SQL that you are trying to generate?

    Hi,
    I have a need to search within a text field in SQL Server 2000. In the
    limitations section it notes that this is not possible. Is there a
    recommended workaround for this in terms of performance? I have no way
    of knowing the length of the text field in advance, and this could be
    fairly large. Also, the number of objects that could contain the text
    can be fairly large as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Khamsouk
