I have inherited a SharePoint 2010 Farm that has had all of the databases moved to a different SQL instance on a Windows 2008 R2 VM. We are looking at possibly decommissioning the server that served as the first SQL instance for SharePoint (This server
is also a DC). In the SQL config manager, an alias was setup to point SQL1 to SLQ2. The default database server in SharePoint Admin is still SQL1. If we get rid of SQL1 and the Windows Server itself, how to I make SharePoint use ONLY the
other SQL2 instance without screwing anything up?

If the alias was set up (using cliconfg.exe) properly, where the alias name is SQL1, and the destination is SQL2, then you should be fine. SQL1 will always remain in the "Manage Servers in Farm" as that is what SharePoint thinks it is using (but
really, your dbs are on SQL2).

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to move databased from C drive to D drive.
You can detach Database so that the files become independent, cut and paste the files from source to destination and attach again.

Pretty much the the email that I used (but didn't verify) to create my iCloud account was hacked and now I can't remove it from my iCloud account due to the iCloud password also being changed by the same person and the fact I had "Find my iPhone" app on my phone also??? I had to change my iTunes email as well but that was far easier so yeah :S.
Please help. I live in NZ, out in the country, so reception is rare and so is getting into the nearest town that has an Apple Store.

SCCm 2012 : Move SQL Database

I have root domain (domain A) and child domain (B).
I install SCCM 2012 in domain A and use SQL 2012 cluster on domain B. I have a problem with a firewall. I install a new cluster SQL 2012 in root domain (Domain A).
My SCCM use: MP, DP, SUP, WSUS, Deployment Application, Deployment packages, Deploy Hotfix.
My question: It's possible to move SQL 2012 database (SCCM and WSUS) in domain B to domain A? and reconnect SCCM 2012 to database.

As long as the computer account is a local admin of the SQL server (of every node as you're talking about a cluster) it should move just fine, especially considering you are moving OUT of the trusted domain and into the same domain.
Simply move the database then re-run SCCM setup. When you do one of the first options you'll get is if you're installing into a new site or "perform site maintenance". Within in that category should be an option to connect SCCM to a
new database, which will do all the work for you.
Quick warning: in the past when using that option I've seen cases where roles have re-installed after I changed the site database, usually the MPs (I'm guessing because they need to reconnect?). So hop into monitoring and watch your logs after
doing this to make sure everything "Settles down".

We have planned to upgrade our SCCM 2012 SP1 infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 so we have setup test environment to test SQL database upgrade before doing same in production.
But while testing SQL database upgrade on test machine, it is getting failed with below error.

We found out that there were duplicate entries in the PkgStatus_G and the PkgServers_G tables in the SCCM DB. We identified them, deleted them , and then we were able to run the /TESTDBUPGRADE command and it went through fine. We performed
all of this on a COPY of the PROD DB and then moved the changes in PROD. Hope this helps someone.

I believe if we maintain the same host name for the new system it is just database movement and PI should not even be aware of this operation!!

      We have a system R / 3 Enterprise Edition 47x200 running with Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
     Copy the BD in another machine (server), then applied script note 551915 (user_restore.sql) and finally proceeded to install the central instance of SAP (sapinst) with existing database option, but it does not appear that the error attached:
Errors during EMP database check on produccion4; reported errors:
Error by Compatibility level check: Database EMP has wrong compatibility level
Error by Dbo objects check: Database EMP contains user objects belonging to system user dbo
; correct reported errors before continuing with the installation

I CANNOT export a movie in CS4, that was simple in CS3

Recently upgraded from CS3, and have run into an absolute brick wall - CS4 will not allow me to export a movie. It opens Media Encoder, and I run the queue, and after about 30 seconds it comes back with an error log saying "Error Compiling Movie: Unknown Error" That is NOT a useful error message.
I have tried Quicktime with a number of different codecs, including "none", I have tried H264.
All I want is an uncompressed mov file that I can continue working with outside of Premiere / Adobe.
There are no blank portions in the video.

I have exactly the same problem. Premiere Pro CS4. MP4 files in a 19 minute movie. Tried to export as MPEG 2 DVD, .MOV .AVI .WMV. All failed in Adobe Media Encoder. Last test said Could not write XMP date to outputfile. AME shows the encoding running but then yellow warning triagle in the status box. I tried the keyframe suggestion, no difference. I have reinstalled CS4, no luck. Very fraustrating as the client expects their DVD tomorrow. Any ideas would be apprecited. I called Adobe and they had no idea.

How to move a database that is part of the replication setup

We run bi-directional replication, setup as a "hub-spoke" , currently there is two active spoke databases, database version is 10.2.0.4
The hub database needs to be moved to another server with another OS.
How can we achieve this without having to re-instatiate the spokes?
I can think of:
exp/imp - probably not possible?
Copy database files - the move is between servers with different endien, but RMAN convert can solve this?
Can we create a a physical DG on the hub database, and even make the move more or less "online"?
Please advice on the best way to move the hub database.

Hi Curt,
For RMAN convert, you need to have the same endian format for both the OS. Lets say if you are trying to move from Solaris 64bit (SPARC) to Linux 32bit/64bit then you can not use RMAN Convert since Solaris SPARC 64bit uses BIG Endian format while Linux (32/64bit) uses LITTLE Endian.
I had a similat situation with Advanced Replication (not with streams) where we ended up in re-creating the Advanced Replication Setup. The export/import did not work since export/import will re-create the objects with a different object identifiers in the new database while the metadata refers to the old object identifiers.
So the best option I see would be to move the hub and re-instantiate (just about setting the instantiation scn).

I can't remove a bookmark of a form that has been removed from the original database it was on.

Local county website removed a form students use and placed it in another location of its website. I had the form bookmarked in its old location. Now I can't remove the bookmark for the form at its old location. Also, I'm not sure if the old/new location has anything to do with my inability to remove or delete that bookmark.

Would you check the Bookmarks sidebar, and look for there in your groupings, and also do a search on it there. From the location bar use and internal search by not hitting "Enter" and include a space delimited asterisk ("*") to restrict to bookmarks.
The Bookmarks Menu (menu) often lags behind, especially when you have lots of changes.
I don't use the Bookmarks *menu* to look for bookmarks. I like the organization and faster scrolling of the bookmarks sidebar.
Restarting Firefox will probably fix the Bookmarks *menu*
If you want to play with it you can try these, but I don't make a lot of bookmark changes in a session that it would bother me that much.
* creating a bookmarks backup and then restore it via Bookmarks Library List ("Ctrl+Shift+B") > Import and Backup > Backup --- then restore that backup.

I rented a movie on Apple TV. Because my Internet is to slow it returned it without watching the movie. I now can't find it in purchase history or video app on iPad or iTunes. What should I do?

Here's what it says on the terms of sale for Movie Rentals:
You must be connected to the iTunes Store when moving or streaming movies. Once a movie is moved, it is no longer viewable on the sending device. You may only move movies to another device from your Mac or Windows computer. Movies downloaded directly to your Apple TV may not be moved. You have thirty (30) days after downloading a movie to begin viewing. Once you begin viewing, you have twenty-four (24) hours to view the movie (the “Viewing Period”). You may view the movie an unlimited number of times during the Viewing Period. Movies are not viewable after the thirty (30) day period. The Apple Store implies that once you download the movie--completely and in full--that you need not be connected to the internet to watch it (how, after all, would you watch it on an iPod if you needed that connection?). But this is still new and one never knows what kind of bugs the program might have. The "not connected" message may mean that, for one reason or another, the iTunes program on your computer doesn't think the movie was fully downloaded even though it was.

How do I remove an app (family sharing) that was previously approved?

With Family Sharing, we find that the "approve purchase" feature is wonderful - but what if we approve an app that, later, we decide was a bad idea? I can't seem to find a way to permanently unapprove it - even after removing it, and "hiding" it in the purchases list for every user, it still shows up with the cloud download icon in the app store (i.e., it can be downloaded again without approval). I need this to be reverted so that, if the app was requested again, it asked the family organizer (me) for approval. Is there a way to do that? If it's important, my two girls both have iOS devices - but I'm approving the requests on a Mac.

If you've encountered the activation lock and previously associated that device with Apple Configurator, bypass it from there.
If you've encountered the activation lock but didn't associate that device with Apple Configurator, take it and its original purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store or otherwise contact Apple.

How do I remove music from iPhone 5 that was downloaded using Amazon Music Player?

I uploaded my music files to the Amazon Cloud Player. Then through the Amazon Cloud Player app, I downloaded songs directly to my iPhone so I could access them when offline. I removed the app when I wasn't using it anymore but now can't delete the song files. When I sync the phone with iTunes, the songs show up on iTunes but I can't play them or delete them. No files are showing up when I try to delete through the Usage area of settings.
