Remove "Slide Title" text from table of contents?

Hi all,
Is there anyway to remove the text "Slide Title" when you publish a Table of Contents (ToC) from Captivate 8?
It seems I can remove/add the other text from the ToC (e.g. project name, title, etc.) but not the line that appears above all of the slides and the accompanying bookmark button/icon.
Any ideas?

How to remove Heading 4 from Table Of Contents

HI,
how can i remove Heading 4 from the Table Of Contents in Word 2007?
I needed to create the Heading 4 (built in themes only go to level 3) by myself (it was very complicated) but finally managed to get it to work.
The problem is that when i view the properties of my theme it has the following attributes:
Font: Not Bold, Indent: Left: 1,9 cm, Hanging: 1,14 cm, Space Before: 6 pt, Style: Linked, Quick Style, Based on: Heading 3
The built in themes however have it different:
Indent: Left: 1,27 cm, Hanging: 0,89 cm, Level 3, Style: Linked, Quick Style, Based on: Heading 2, Following style: Indryk3
There is a parameter called "Level"which my theme does not have. When i create the Table Of Contents and set "Show levels" to 3 then it will display FOUR levels (three built-in and my Heading 4).
Please help. How to get the "Level" parameter to appear for my theme as well?

Thanks for your answer. The only invisible character is the section break thing at the very top of the blank page. I can't figure out how to place it directly after the Table of contents. If I remove the section break, the Table of Contents merges with the following section, which is not what I want at all.

How can I remove the 'Qty' text from individual product descriptions?

I didn't know if this was possible or not... I've recently taken the reins of handling an ecommerce site that had been published before I got on board. My boss wants me to remove the 'Qty:' description from some products because the image shown for some products is a misleading description of the actual quantity available (i.e. there is a picture that shows a stack of conveyors parts, and it says 'Qty: 1' to represent one 'stack' of conveyor parts - this confuses customers into thinking there's only one individual conveyor part available however). To avoid any confusion he requested that I remove the 'Qty' text from similar images. I see that you can change the 'In Stock' amount of a particular product underneath the 'Inventory' tab of the 'Products' menu, but I didn't know if it was possible just to remove the quantity description altogether without just typing the quantity in at zero. This is likely a strange question but I didn't know where else to ask! I would appreciate any help or advice Thank you

I just figured out a way to do it, but it's a little weird and complex, and I have no idea what the consequences for editing this .plist string might be. I'm thinking it'll be OK, but you never know what might happen when you screw around with Apple's intentions.
So if you have the Developer Tools on your install of OS X, you can use the Property List Editor to edit the Dock files. (If you don't have this program, you can use a program like [Pacifist|http://www.charlessoft.com> to selectively install stuff from your Leopard disk).
The file you're interested in is within Macintosh HD > Users > Your Username > Library > Preferences, and it's called com.apple.dock.plist. Open that up with Property List Editor, and open the arrow drop-down next to "Root." The lines you're looking for are "persistent-apps" (the left side of your Dock) and "persistent-others" (the right side). If you open the drop-down arrows, you'll see there are numbers below each. The numbers correspond to your Dock items, from left to right.
If you click on drop-arrows by the numbers, a sample hierarchy looks like this: 0 > tile-data > file-label. It's the "file-label" string that you want to edit. Just make it ("it" being the name of the icon under the "value" column) blank, save the file, go into Terminal and type "killall Dock" without the quotes, and your Dock icon should appear without a name. You'll have to do this for all of them.
I should insert the usual caveats here about backing up beforehand and making sure that you have a copy of the .plist file before you start tweaking it so that you can replace it if things go wrong. And perhaps someone with more knowledge of Terminal or third-party apps than I have will come along and suggest a simpler solution. But that's the only one I have.

i had used table control in my application. i want remove vertical scroll bar from table control.
At initial time in table control there is no vertical scroll bar. In my table control lines are dependent on internal table which i was used to fill it.
i was used these code for to set table control lines.
DESCRIBE TABLE IT_RISK_ZINRISEXC LINES EXC_LINE.
TC_RISK_EX-LINES = EXC_LINE .
Initially there is no data in internal table so there is no vertical scroll bar. After getting value i am filling internal table. and there is scroll bar in my table control. but i does not want that.
i was not selected RESIZING-VERTICAL OR -HORIZONTAL.

From Scroll Bars in Table Control
You can remove the scroll bar in the table control by switching off horizontal and vertical scrolling in the properties of the table control. The properties can be accessed from the screen painter by double clicking on the table control. Regarding the page up and page down functions, I believe you add those buttons in the screen layout and code for them. You can use the standard function code for the page up and page down functions.

You can get rid of the vertical scroll bars by not setting table control lines. This way the user can only see the visible lines of the table control. As for the horizontal scrollbar, just make sure that your table control doesn't contain too many fields.

Export a 3D title text from after effects to my desktop

I am having trouble exporting my 3D title text from after effects to my desktop to use in premiere pro...sending to render que but won't render for export. Am I missing a step?

It would help if we knew your render settings, your experience level with AE, a little more about your workflow. Even knowing what version of AE and what OS may be helpful. This is probably just user error. Normal workflow would be to add the composition to the render cue, select a folder (the desktop is a lousy place to store assets by the way) and then press render. Without changing anything you'll get lossless DIm (digital intermediate) suitable for use in any NLE but not suitable for playback. If you need transparency then you should select lossless with alpha in the output module from the pull down.
If you want something else then tell us more.
Inside AE, if you see a search help field at the top right corner of the app type in 'rendering,' press enter, then read through the first two articles.

IBooks Author strips tab stops from Table of Contents

Tab stops that are generated from section names are stripped from published iBooks Author files. When I click on Table of Contents in iBooks Author, I can see it exactly like it should be. Please see the screenshot that I have uploaded tabs.jpg.
Please note the Tab stops of the inspector that are in the screenshot. It shows clearly that I have made a number of tab stops and how it should be displayed. However, please download the following file to see how the tab stops are stripped from the .ibooks file that is created when I publish it:

The iBA Help has info on: table of contents
Which includes:
Each book comes with a table of contents that is updated automatically. You can view the table of contents at any time by selecting Table of Contents in the sidebar. The table of contents includes a default set of items, but you can change which items appear. A table of contents can include:
Chapter and section titles: All chapter and section titles are included in the table of contents by default. If you remove a section from the table of contents, all other sections that use the same layout are removed as well.
Text that uses specified paragraph styles: By default, the table of contents includes all paragraphs in the book that use the Heading 1 and Heading 2 style, but you can include whichever styles you like. Paragraph styles appear in the table of contents only in portrait orientation. See Format text using styles.
The way the table of contents looks depends on the current page orientation. In landscape orientation (shown below), each chapter has its own contents page, with navigation buttons at the bottom. In portrait orientation, the entire book’s table of contents is visible as an expandable list.
Add or remove items in the table of contents
If the Document inspector isn’t open, click Inspector in the toolbar and click the Document Inspector button.
Click the TOC button.
Do either or both of the following:
To add an item: Click the Add pop-up menu , choose Add Paragraph Style, and choose an option from the submenu.
To remove an item: Select the item you want to remove and click the Delete button .

Remove space after text in table?

Hello!
I am hoping that someone can help me out with this issue. Basically I want the extra space in each row or the tabel to be gone. I cant seem to sort out how.

How do I add a title to my table of contents in Pages?

I am attempting to write a research paper using the paragraph styles and headings features. I have also added a table of contents, which looks great and allows me to jump to each section of the paper. HOWEVER, I can't seem to be able to title that table of contents page. All I want it to say is "Table of Contents", which should be simple, right? I don't want to put it in the header because APA formatting is very particular about how all of this stuff should look, so this title needs to really be in the body of the page. How do I make this happen?

The TOC is a block of text.
Get your cursor in front of it by clicking or using your arrow keys, then hit return to make a new paragraph before the TOC and type your Head in that.

Extract Title and specific table of content/pages in set of PDF's

I need to extract the title of each PDF and a specific content and its pages. For example i have a folder full of PDF's and i need to find in the Table of Contents a heading called Enhancements if there. If Enhancement content is there copy the Title of the PDF usually on first page and copy the Enhancement section and place in another PDF as chronology of enhancements.I have AA Standard X
What tool can do this?

You could certainly use the SDK to write a custom plugin to Acrobat (in C/C++) that would do what you require. It's not trivial, however.

Copy text from table to table issue

Using CS6 on PC Win 7 64bit
not noticed this before probably becasue I usually copy in from Excel or Word docs, but when I copy text from one table to another in a document its copying it as a nested table,
if I just copy a single cell then thats ok but anything else its placed as a table within the target table.
Probably something really obvious I've overlooked, but its driving me nuts
Have looked in prefs and Clipboard is set for just text, apart from that I cant see anything

I've just been doing some testing and I'm not sure if the results I'm getting are how things should be.
I just called up one of my recent excel tables and did what I usually do, highlight from the top left cell to the bottom right hand corner cell, Ctrl-C
Excel table is always 11 column but the number of rows varies from week to week, from 50 or so to 250.
Opened an ID table template I use which width wise is the same amount of columns as my source excel file 11 columns, but only a few rows.
Place the cursor and highlight the first row in ID Ctrl-V, table is filled and it auto inserts more rows to the limit of the object box and then I just drag the table down to fill the page and then just click and drag the loaded cursor to create more table space on the next page if needed, nice and simple.
Just opened a new table with 6 rows and 4 columns
and tried to paste into a table with 2 rows and 4 columns expecting it to automatically fill and give me the overfill red icon on the frame but it doesnt
but it does with text from outside of ID, I just tested it, it automatically fills all the table and adds rows until the object fram is ful and then I can just use the overfill facility to increase the table size
Seems odd that this only works with externally copied material

White text in table of contents thumbnail

OK this has really got me stumped so I hope someone can help.
I have written the first chapter of my new book. All the font, including section headings, is black.
When I preview the book (on both iPad and my macbook) the thumbnail view of the table of contents has changed the text colour to white. So the text is now white on a white background and hard to read.
I am using the latest version of ibooks 1.01 and ibooks author 2.2.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions. This has not happened in any of my other books.

I also include overset text in my TOC that is actually off of the viewable spread. At first, it didn't work (even though I asked it to include the text). Then, I moved the field to be a few px within the viewable spread but left the text still off of the edge and it worked.
I am doing this through Javascript with CS3.
You may be having an entirely different problem... but I hope this helps :)

Slide Title Export from iPhoto to iMovie

iPhoto has a selection to "show titles" in "Settings." How do I get the slide titles to export to iMovie?

What format did you export as? Open it in Quicktime Play and type Command-i. In the Inspector window check the format of the file. I just exported one and got the following which is compatible with iMovie 7:
MPEG-4 (Perian);640 x 480, Millions, MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 44.100 kHz.
If you don't have Perian listed download and install it. Then try again.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Mm2 remove purchase order text from central data M_MATE_MAN

Hi,
we restricted the material master data in mm01/mm02 with the authorisation object M_MATE_MAN to activity 03. This setting meets our requirements to 99%!
We saw in sap note 545380 that the purchase order text is a central text.
Surprisingly the sales text is created with reference to the sales organization. Is there a similar purchase order text which can be created on the level of the purchase organization and language?
Or can we use an user exit or something else to allow maintenance and exclude the purchase order text from the M_MATE_MAN authorisation check?

Hi,
have you tried to invalidate item instead of account assignment? You can get a reference to item with method GET_ITEM. I can see only one class which implements interface IF_PURCHASE_ORDER_ACCOUNT_MM. It is CL_PO_ACCOUNTING_HANDLE_MM and this class has no code for this method.

How do I remove the title bar from a Palm PDA front panel?

On several PDA screens, I need all the real esate I can get. The title bar chews up a lot of it. Is there any way, in the vi settings or programmatically, that I can remove the title bar?
I've already tried the obvious step of unchecking "window has a title bar" in the window appearance catagory of the vi properties. No apparent effect is seen.

It sounds like you are referring to the GUI actually on your Palm devices. I believe on Palm devices all applications have a title bar, and there isn't a way to get rid of it. My guess is that perhaps this is a feature you can enable/disable as a Palm OS setting, or may simply be the way the Palm has defined its user interface. If you have your Palm devices handy, check out the display settings to see any has an option to remove the title bars in general. If you find out either way, definitely repost so the community can find the answer here as well!
