Remove Spacing on the GUI

Question

hello, here's my problem..
i'm making a program that will act like a graphing calculator but only using JPanels, (yeah, it sucks cause i think we will not discuss about Graphics ;(
well anyways
i imagined a GUI which will contain maybe 100x100 JPanels each having dimensions of 1px X 1px or maybe 2px X 2px each JPanel,
but the problem is, when i first tried making many JPanel, i was shocked that it has spaces like this

so, how can i remove the spaces for now so i can achieve what i want?
i have read some internet codes, tried to use Insets and Borders but it failed, we were not taught how to use BorderLayout, only FlowLayout..
here's the crappy code that i got right now

tnx to kevin, Vgap and Hgap fixed my problem
i'm gonna try to self study graphics since i want to improve the accuracy of the graph

tnx guys ;DHa, that actually works a heck of a lot better than I was expecting it would.
Another (slightly less wrong but still wrong) way to do it would be to use the same algorithm you use to figure out which JPanels should be black. Only instead of changing the colors of the JPanels at those coordinates, you would have a 2D array of booleans, setting those coordinates to true. Then you'd only need one JPanel that drew the squares where the array contained true.
Like I said, that's not the best way to do it, but it would be an easy step in the right direction to make from your existing code.
