Rendering images dynamically from file server path

Hi,
We are having JDeveloper 11.1.2.4
We have following requirement - Image files are located on server. File locations (path and name) are stored in database table.
We need to dynamically access file locations from database table, access file from server and render it in ADF image component.
Is it possible? If yes, we would really appreciate some pointers/help on how to achieve it.
Please note that we are able to render images dynamically when they are stored in database BLOB column. We can do that using a ImageServlet class. In doGet() method, we are fetching the database BLOB column based on current row id.
Thanks,
Vivek

Here is the scriplet I tried. But it is not redering the image and definitely I am missing something here. Please suggest changes or any direction.
<%
File f = image.getThumbnailFile(); //image file from a bean
ByteArrayOutputStream byteOutput = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(f);
byte[] bytes = new byte[1024];
int read;
try{
          while ( (read = inputStream.read(bytes)) > -1 )
                  byteOutput.write(bytes, 0, read);
          //byte[] ba = byteOutput.toByteArray();
          ByteArrayInputStream byteInput = new ByteArrayInputStream(byteOutput.toByteArray());
          response.setContentType("image/gif");
          while ( (read = byteInput.read()) > -1 )
               response.getOutputStream().write(read);
          response.getOutputStream().flush();
catch(Exception e){}
%>

  • Transfer data from File server to SAP R/3 AS

    hi, i need to transfer data from file server (http:/.....) to SAP R/3 application server. I have the HTTP Host name (http:/......) and login details. please let me know how i can resolve this.
    best regards

    Hi
    You need to create a RFC Destination with the details what you have, then you can create a RFC Fucntion module to read the data, according to the destination system, you have to code that, once you
    pick the data from the destination system, later you need to convert it to SAP Format.
    To trace your fm status, there are function module availabe in sap, search with http, you can find.

  • Import IMAGE type from SQL Server to BLOB in Oracle

    Hello,
    Is there a way to import a IMAGE type from SQL Server to BLOB type in Oracle from one table to another through a database link?
    I'm waiting for an answer as soon as possible.

    Have you already configured a Heterogeneous Services and Generic Connectivity to create a database link from Oracle to SQL Server? I haven't tried copying IMAGE data from SQL Server via Heterogeous Services myself, but from the [data type map|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14232/apb.htm#sthref509] in the documentation, I would expect that it would work so long as the SQL Server ODBC driver maps the IMAGE data type to SQL_LONGVARBINARY

  • How to upload an image to EBS file server (Not store in database) with OAF?

    Dear all,
    I can upload an image into database with blob type. But I want to know how to upload an image to EBS file server. I try to search the forum but I cannot find the solution I want.
    Anybody can reallize it? Please give me some advice or idea?
    Thanks.
    Kenny

    Kenny,
    Framework doesn't provide the option of storing the images as files. You can write a javascript to open a popup and provide a standard HTML file upload component which will save the file on specified location.

  • How to get images dynamically from database without file paths in the table field

    I have a MS-Access database. I am working with ASP.NET. In the database there is product table in which I have "CodeNo" as a field which is a text field, and the product codes like "SM-R-2035". I also have another field "Image" which is also a text field and which have a file path in it corresponding to the particular product Image (e.g. Images\Products\SM-R-2035.jpg). So far every thing is ok. I have to update this site very frequently and lots of images are added each and every time. Its a tedious work to type the paths and file name every time and it also take a lot of time.
    What I am asking is : Is it possible to get images from a specific folder at runtime which is referenced by the "code no" itself and not the file path from the database. (Say at run time the "code no" is referenced from the database and the corresponding image is loaded dynamically from the specified folder). In other word I want to avoid the tedious work of typing.
    Can any one help with this issue. Any other simple suggestions are welcome.

    All you need to do is simple concatenation to obtain the path for the image file.  You didn't mention whether you are using VB.Net, C# or some other language to do your coding.
    If the code in your database is SM-R-2035, the file name is SM-R-2035.jpg and the path to the images foilder is Images\Products\SM-R-2035.jpg, Conceptually here is what you need to do:
    dim code_var
    dim path_var
    code_var = the code you obtain from your relevant field in the database
    path_var = "Images\Products\" & code_var & ".jpg"
    Now path_var is what you would call to obtain the image from your images folder.

  • How to download a file from a server path?

    Is it possible to attach files on the server to a web dynpro response with cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response? All the examples I have seen assume you have the file content as an XSTRING. But how can one just send a file from a known path?
    Is it really necessary to first load the file (e.g. a 50Mb TIFF) as an XSTRING before downloading it? If so, how is this done?

    Hi Marc,
    Try using this FM to convert String to Xstring.
    SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING
    HR_KR_STRING_TO_XSTRING
    and also check this...Error document.getElementById(...)  in function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
    Might Helps you.
    Cheers,
    Kris.

  • Display image in Report from File Server

    Hi
    As the logo of the company is changing every 3 - 4 months, i need a solution for this..
    my approach is to replace the new logo in file server
    call the logo in the oracle reports... using oracle reports 6i...
    but i am not able to do so ( which objects to be used like formula column, link file, ole) ... any help from your side will be good.
    Regards
    Yram

    You may put the logo into db as a blob column and retrieve it onto report. One update in db would update all calling reports.

  • Loading Images Dynamically from MySql

    Hello
    I need to load images in my swf file dynamically from MySql
    using PHP. Brief is I have one Swf file and and i want to animate
    image in it but image should be come from dynamic path.. anybody
    can tell me how to do this? if you want more brief then i can
    provide it but it is urgent...
    Thanks in advance

    I'm afriad I don't have a solution to your problem but I was
    curious as to why you would load it from a database vs a directory.
    I know you can have users upload to a directory and a database but
    I don't understand the benifit since I think you'd be adding load
    on the database server. Is it a server side image manipulation
    thing?

  • Move Image Data from Sql Server to Oracle

    I try to move Image data from a Sql Server Database to a Oracle Database.
    The dataType in Sql Server is Image and the target datatype in Oracle is BLOB.
    When I try to move my Sql Server data to Oracle I get the following error message
    Data Move information:Rows : 0 Errors: 76
    Commit failed: Getrennte Verbindung
    [InfogateSystem].[dbo].[ISErrorLogStepInfo] Getrennte Verbindung
    Anmeldung beim Server muß erfolgt sein

    [InfogateSystem].[dbo].[ISErrorLogStepInfo] ORA-22275: invalid LOB locator specified Ungültigen LOB-Locator angegeben
    Inserting ' ' into column ISErrorLogStepInfo.ExtModulInfoSer (Row number 1)

    wow, you're getting a ora600 error here which is a bad sign for your database.
    I havent seen errors doing an online image data move, but I would diagnose the 600 error first and come back to us

  • CS5 opening file from file server through explorer gets file not found error

    Hi There,
    Has anyone come across an issue with CS5 where they open an ai file through Windows Explorer and gets an error file not found after CS5 has started? Opening through CS5's file > open option does not produce the same error and seems to only error when opening by double clicking on the ai file. Is this a possible issue with shellex open handler registry key?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Opening files directly from the server can produce errors and damage files. It is generally not advised.
