Reordering list box items.

This question was asked by someone else before but there was no answer so I will ask it again:
I've implemented a WidgetListBoxWidgetN widget in a dialog and am trying to make it reorderable by the user dragging list items around in the list box. I figured that all I would need to do was set the 'list items can be reordered' flag in the resource definition for the list box and I would be all set. However, when I attempt to drag an item in the list box, the mouse pointer turns into an icon indicating that the item drag is not allowed.
I've looked through the user interface tutorial, the user interface guide, the html guide and this forum. I haven't been able to find anything that can point me in the right direction. What am I missing here?
Barry

Thanks for the answer Dirk,
No,
From the comment for the listbox setting "List items can be reordered" I assumed that setting this to kTrue would be all that is required. It is all internal to the widget so I didn't see why I should need to get involved.

     how to edit the list box items in labwindow/CVI?

    Listbox items cannot be edited directly in the control: what you can do is to select a line an, transfer its content to a textbox control, edit text there and move text back to the listbox control. Available interactions with the listbox control are listed in the help.
    An alternative to it is to use a tree customized to appear like a listbox: tree item labels can be edited directly in the control, at least those in the base column of the tree. You can look at the example \samples\userint\treelist.cws that shows how a tree can be customized this way. I haven't opened it, but this old example too should show the ability to edit tree cells.
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Combo/List Box Item List in Properties

    Im creating a form in Acrobat.  Used a list box instead of combo box.  But need to change to combo box.  I already entered in all the items for the list.  I don't want to spend too much time on this.  Is there a way to copy the list from properties on the list box and past into the new combo box?

    You can use Acrobat JavaScript to convert the current items, getItemAt,
    in the list box/combo box to an array or list that could be edited in array definition, edit that list and then use JavaScript, setItems, to use that array to populate the field.

  • How to color a list box item at run time

    I do not want to change colors in a selected or a highlighted item.  I want to color foreground on any item based on a program condition.
    IN windows forms I could change the drawmode property to ownerdrawfixed and then override the listbox rendering event and paint the item based on condition.
    I don not find such a property in the WPF listbox.  Is there a different way to do this?

  • Help Scripting for PDF Form List Box

    I am attempting to write JavaScript for an Adobe Acrobat X Pro form. I would like to set an action script for a List Box titled "customer_name" so that when a specific customer name is selected, a corresponding text box titled "cutomer_number" will automatically fill with the correct number. I am not very familiar with JavaScript so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The easiest way to do this is to set the export value of each list box item to the corresponding customer number. The script for the custom number field could then simply be:
    // Set this field's value to the export value of the selected item in the list box
    event.value = getField("customer_name").valueAsString;
    Post again if you don't want to set up the list box that way for some reason since there are other ways to deal with this.

  • List Box showing Value and Display members?

    Ok this is a CONCEPT problem (the code is not professional, just read it for the concept, though it does compile and run).
    Right, I have asked many people on IRC and no one is giving me a straight answer lol so maybe some professionals can help me.
    I am trying to use a Datasource property for my combobox. This is so I can just pass an entire KeyValue pair with indexes and values to be shown in the listbox.
    Creating the keyvaluepair as a WHOLE and passing that to datasource property works perfectly.
    Creating a keyvaluepair PROCEDURALLY (in a loop or w/e) ends in the datasource property ToString()ing it, list box items show BOTH value AND display members in square brackets as an entire option.
    NOTE: Getting the lsitbox.value results in ONLY the valuemember being returned even though the listbox shows both the valuemembers AND the displaymember? it knows they are different?
    Now, I dont want any alternatives or comments about the quality of the code, all I want to know is WHY is it doing this, it seems compeltely illogical that the same TYPE and Values and can different Effects within the datasource property? Its like it knows
    it was built procedurally?
    Anyway here is some code for reference:
    // Windows Form

    Thanks Michael!
    I did debug this and it turns out when i set a new BindingSource to the combo box, indeed the DisplayMember gets reset. Oddly though, the ValueMember stays the same.
    I have fixed this with setting the Members before every new bindingSource is set to the combobox, strange that only the displaymember is reset?

    Talking with someone it seems logical that every time I set a new BindingSource the component will not know if I want to keep the same member values so it resets them, but why it only resets displaymember? very strange to me.
    Thanks again.

  • Select multiple items from a list box as values for a parameter of crystal report and Oracle procedure

    -  I have a  Product list box (asp.net) used as multiple selected values for  a parameter.
    - The Product ID is defined in the Oracle procedure as NUMBER data type.
    -  In my crystal report, I have a parameter field allow multiple values as p_product_id type as Number.  This is the code in my Record Selection Formula for the report:
    ({?p_product_id}[1] = -1 OR {Procedure_name.product_id} in {p_product_id})
    -  In C#, this is my code
    List<decimal?> productUnit = new List<decimal?>();
    int counter = 0;
    decimal prod;
    for (int i = 0; i < lstProducts.Items.Count; i++)
                  if (lstProducts.Items[i].Selected)
                                if (decimal.TryParse(lstProduct.Items[i].Value, out prod))
                                    productUnit.Add((decimal?)prod);
                                    counter++;
           if (counter == 0)
                       productUnit.Add(-1);
    ReportingDAO rDataFactory = new ReportingDAO();
    retVal = rDataFactory.GetProductReport(productUnit);

             rptLog.Logon(retVal, "RPT_PRODUCT_DOWNLOAD");
             retVal.SetParameterValue("p_product_id", productUnit);
    I keep having the "Value does not fall within the expected range" when I debug.  My question is, is the data type I used for procedure/Crystal report/ and C# correct ?  I always have problem with the data type.  Any help would be

    As to your problem, to the point you normally use a Set instead of List when you don't want duplicates in a collection.

  • How to create an alert at the list item of List box in vbs/c sharp

    Dear All,
    I need to know how can we create an alert, or a message on the execution of the last item in the List box.

    What do you mean by "on the execution of the last item in the list box"? Do you mean when that last item of a ListBox is selected? If so, you could use the following code:
    Private Sub ListBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) _
    Handles ListBox1.SelectedIndexChanged
    Dim lb As ListBox = CType(sender, ListBox)
    If lb.SelectedIndex = lb.Items.Count - 1 Then
    MessageBox.Show("Last item is selected")
    End If
    End Sub

  • List box is not scrolling to the last item

    Hello all,
    I am developing a Windows Phone 8 application, in that I am using List box to display the data. I have requirement like once the page is launched user should navigate to the last item of the list box. For this requirement used scroolintoview method like LsbSample.ScrollIntoView(LsbSample.LastOrDefault).
    It is moving to the last item but not fully. It is showing last item around 60% but for remaining 40% I need to manually scroll the list box.
    Can any one help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Santosh Kumar Kotta

    It's likely a small bug. Can you try scrolling to the bottom of the scrollviewer's height instead?

    First of all this is my first post here ever. If its a wrong forum, sorry.
    So ever since I installed Windows 8.1 here (fresh install), I have this strange bug were items in list boxes start disappearing when you open a window with them.
    It didn't bother me much but now its horrible when I wanted to switch my playback device... Or if you want to change IP settings on my network adapter.
    The thing is it all happens in a very short period of time so it took me a while to get screens of it and here they are:

  • Limit of no.  of items shown in ABAP List-box?

    Hi All,
    I am doing a development and I came across this limitations of the no. of items in a list box. Is it limited to a single digit..? Cause when i use call function 'VRM_SET_VALUES', the value returned in the field is the KEY, which is only 1 digit in my case. I have over 100 entries to be displayed in the list box. Can anyone tell me how to increase the no. of digits which get returned by the FM 'VRM_SET_VALUES'?
    Please let me know.

    Show us the code that you use to build the VRM table please.
    I'm simply not understanding your problem.  VRM table has 2 fields, key and text.  Text is what is displayed and key is what is
