Repeating Form from Form list

Question

Hi,
Is there a way to properly use repeating forms entered in the formlist. Using a manual trigger, I am able to trigger as many instances of the same form as the XML needs but the subforms inside the form do not. Example: the first Form instance will display everything correctly but the next Form Instances will display the same number of subforms as the first one even though no instance of trigger path is encountered or more instances of the inner subform is required. the data however is correct.
Sample in terms of XML is below:

     <formInstance>     // this instance will have 2 subforms and will display correctly.
          <subform>
          </subform>
          <subform>
          </subform> 
     </formInstance>
     <formInstance>     // this instance will have 2 subforms and not display the third.
          <subform>
          </subform>
          <subform>
          </subform>
          <subform>     // this subform will not appear in the PDF
          </subform>
     </formInstance>
     <formInstance>     // this instance will have 2 subforms and the second will be blank.
          <subform>
          </subform>
          // an extra subform will show up with no data but the sections are there.
     </formInstance>
</form>
In order to get the data on these, I use INCOVSYM to increment a counter variable, say counter, at the very bottom of the form and use the trigger !form/formInstance[**counter**]/subform to determine if the subform needs to be printed. It still only picks up the number of instances of the subform from the first form however but retrieves the data correctly.
I am running this via Test Scenario in Documaker Studio 12.3. Any help on the matter would be much appreciated. Thank you.

for your abovementioned XML:  !/form/formInstance[**@SUBFORM[2]**]/subform[**@SUBFORM[1]**]/textGroup/item[****]
