Repeatly passing data to and from external program

I'm looking for some help to get me started. I'm willing to bet
the info is here I'm just not sure what to look for and my searches
aren't reveiling anwsers.
Background: I'm trying to take control of a device that is comunicating
through the PCI bus. The device has a set of API dll's that I can
access through C++, but not directly in LabVIEW. So wish to creat
a wrapper program that will give LabVIEW indirect access to the
dlls.
Problem: I've breifly read up on CINs and Libaray call functions and
have found one underlying problem with both. I have not found a
way to pass data back and forth between the external code and LabVIEW
once the external code is running. I require an interactive
conection between the two.
Any sugestions of what to search for would be greatly appreatiated, or even how to resolve my problem.

If the data buffers are owned by the driver and are updated asynchronously, you should expose that buffer to LabVIEW as a handle (simple int32 for the pointer to the buffer). This can then be passed to the wrapper code and checked (implements your polling). Remember that handling tasks in LV that should run in parallel is different from C++ however - you don't create threads, instead you should simply set up independent loops.
I'm not sure what else to suggest since I don't fully understand what the API does or what the HW is doing, so feel free to post more information if you want more suggestions

Passing data to and from Comm Sub Vi with 2 loops

Im sure this is simple, and I think Im stuck in vacation mode and cant wait the 4 more hours till I leave, but this is really bothering me. I have a pretty large Queued State Machine and within that machine I have some states which must communicate via the TCP/IP port. My servers are complete and made into Executables and work fine, however I want to leave my clients as sub vi's so that I can easily pass in and retreive data from them. They are designed with 2 while loops, one for sending the data and one for reading the data back. At the very least the read loop needs to remain in a loop to pick up unsolicited messages from my CAN server. However when I place these into my master QSM they hold up the process because of the loops executing. Now I have made a separate loop in my QSM for all my communication clients so the rest of the QSM runs but I cant pass data into these clients because they are stuck executing the loops internally and dont stop to pull in data.
I should note that if I run my QSM to spawn the servers, then run my client as a separate VI rather than a sub and type my commands there then they execute perfectly.
So if you can follow my crazy description what would be the best/cleanest way to circumvent this so I can get moving ahead. Thanks, Dave

Would it work to use a queue to pass data from your main QSM loop to your communication loop? You could write the commands to the queue from your main QSM loop, and pick them up in the communication loop. They would then still run in parallel. Let me know if this works, or if you are looking for something else.

Best way to pass data to and from a fieldpoint unit

Hello,
I am just starting to play with a fieldpoint unit and I was wondering the best way to send and receive data with it. We are setting up a pumping station and need to send the FP a setpoint and be able to read other sensor connected to it. I know there are at least a few options such as data socket, publish data, shared variables and maybe tcp/ip. But I was wondering as to the best/easiest option.

For case #1, you wouldn't have to do anything special. The setpoint would just remain at whatever value was last written to it by the host system (the one where you are at the controles).
For something like #2, you would probably want an extra routine, such as read the timestamp of the shared variable, if the cFP sees that it is too old (whether that would be a minute, an hour, a day ....) then the code goes into a pump down routine. Another possibility would be a watchdog type of shared variable. The host system periodically increments a counter and sends it to a shared variable on the cFP. If the cFP sees that the counter hasn't incremented in a given period of time, then it can assume a connection was lost and do the shutdown routine.
Going with shared variables will definitely get you started quicker. Good luck with your application.

Sending system side(SEND--800)
Create function module by using Tcode SE37 or SE80
goto attributes select remote function
activate
Receiving system side(RECE--000)
goto Tcode SM59
here select the R/3 Connections-->click on Create Button
give RFC Desstination : TESTRFC
     Connection Type : 3 for Connecting two systems
     Description      : Some meaningful Description
Press enter
give Target system Name : SEND
          Language      : EN
          Client        : 800
          user Name     : sapuser
          Password      : xxxxxx
save this connections & click on test connections(f8)
                      & Remote logon(f7)---> it will open a session
                        with client 800 that is your sending system
                        then only your RFC is correct
create a report in SE38 Tcode
data : c1 type i.
data : itab like mara occurs 0 with header line.
call function 'ZRFCFM' destination 'TESTRFC' --->Function Module 'ZRFCFM' your just create at Sending system
     exporting
     importing
     exceptions.

The only way to get data onto the phone is by syncing. To get some photos off the phone you can connect the phone to the computer with USB cable and use windows explorer to view and copy the photos from the phone to the computer. You could use a program like ibackupbot or something similar on your computer and get data off the phone to your computer using that

Check the names specified in the smartfrom and FM whcih you are calling in the driver program. Both might be different....

One thing I am still not quite sure. Do you mean I can use "Acrobat 3D API" to create the plugin? But seems the "Acrobat 3D API" only works with
Acrobat Pro Extended.
That means the plugin will not be able to work with adobe reader. Is that correct?

Some ports randomly get blocked and the external program is unable to rece

We have configured few ports to send out Idocs using TRFC mechanism. Initially all the ports are working fine and the external program is able to receive Idocs from all the ports. However after sometime, some ports randomly get blocked and the external program is unable to receive Idocs from these ports. If the SAP instance is restarted, we see that all ports work fine for a certain period but the same issue appears again after sometime.
This behaviour is observed in case of TRFC calls but not for normal RFC calls.
RFC Connections,partner profiles,ports,distribution model - these all are working fine.
Your help will be appreciated.

BAPI_TRIP_CREATE_FROM_DATA works in SE37, but not from external program

BAPI_TRIP_CREATE_FROM_DATA works in SE37, but gives error when calling from external program.
The error is "Deserialisation failed". I have the WSDL generated by a Web Service wizard in SE 37,
so there should not be any problem like element name or case(upper/lower) mismatch etc. I populate all mandatory fields.
I am using the web service created by wizard in a InfoPath form.
This is the exact error:

Insert into SAP table from external program

I need to perform an insert of several records into a couple of SAP tables from an external program.
Do you know of an RFC (if it is remote enabled the better) that allows me to specify the table and records to perfom an insert?

I don't know ABAP and wanted to avoid writing my own function if one standard exists.
My requirement stands like this, I have a few z tables that need to populate from my C# application by use of the .Net connector.
I haven't found a BAPI or RFC that allows me to add records to any table, but I don't know all the RFCs.
May be one of you passed throu this already.

    does anybody know how to pass data between different batch jobs? I don't want to use temp files. can ABAP memory can implement this?

SAP Memory OR ABAP Memory.
Ex: V_count TYPE i.
V_count = 100.
LOOP AT itab.
IF v_count EQ 25.
Here For every batch job
EXPORT data TO MEMORY ID 'ABC'
   Function module
    JOB_OPEN
   JOB_SUBMIT
   JOB_CLOSE.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP .
IN your 2nd program.
INITIALIZATION.
IMPORT data FROM MEMORY IF 'ABC'.
FREE memory if .---When you free the memory you will get recent data.
Don't forget to reward if useful.

Passing data row-wise from one VO to another.

I am a ADF newbie so I have a slight issue which I am not able to resolve.
I need to pass data from table t1 to table t2 which I am able to establish by creating viewlink between the two. But each time I press the 'CreateInsert' button for the VO made for t2,I need a different value to be passed. Basically, I need to pass values rowwise from t1 each time the user clicks the 'CreateInsert' button for t2 VO.
Eg. If there is an itemCategory table which contains the attributes for an item such as Expiry Date,Food Code,Type of food then for the itemFood, each time I click the 'CreateInsert' button, a new row should be created where attributeId has to be passed one by one i.e. on first click Expiry date should be passed, 2nd click food code should be passed so that based on these attributes,corresponding attribute values for itemFood can be entered in the itemFood table.
How can I achieve this in ADF? Is there an alternative way where instead of clicking the 'CreateInsert' button, attributeids cn be passed from itemCategory to itemFood?
Any help in this case is highly appreciated.

Is it possible to pass multiple values for same attribute from one table to another using viewlink?
eg. If there are 2 tables- FoodAttributes which contains the type of food and the attributes associated with it.
say,Type -Vegetable, Non-veg, Fruits then for vegetables,attributes can be weight,leafy,etc.
Another table is FoodTable where we have food specific attribute which contains name of food ,attributes associated with it and the values for those attributes, like cabbage is name, attributes associated with it are leafy,weight and in values we specify leafy as yes and its weight in kg. So I need to pass the attribute names from 1st table to 2nd table. Please suggest a way to do this.
