Replace Abap-class by Java for Error

hi,
i tried what was said in Michal tutorial :
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2007/04/26/xipi-throwing-generic-exceptions-from-any-type-of-mapping
but i faced some problems, first of all i dont have Abap-class in the settings of my Interface mapping i just only have java , XSL and also MM it s weird but anyway could i replace the Abap-class that read the dynamic configuration with a java-class mapiing that could write in the error tag of the soap header.
i followed the steps described in the tutorial i mean the code in the UDF but i cant use the Abap-class mapping in my interafce mapping is there any other way to write in the Error tag of soap header in the SXMB_moni
thanx

Hey
You need to add a parameter to exchange profile before you can see ABAP-class in Interface mapping,please follow the below steps:
Go to http://<host:port>/exchangeProfile in internet explorer
Expand IntegrationBuilder ->IntegrationBuilder.Repository->click on com.sap.aii.repository.mapping.additionaltypes link ,then on right hand side just type
R3_ABAP|Abap-class in i/o field. and save.
You may need to restart Java engine for this take effect.
Thanks

  • ABAP class or function for retrieving BEx query properties at runtime

    Hello Experts,
    I'm working on BADI RSR_OLAP_BADI and for a special calculation I need to know which characteristics are in the drill-down of the BEX query, sol later on I can aggregate some key figures using only these characteristics.
    Problem is that structure C_s_DATA in method COMPUTE contains all fields of the query (filters, free chars, chars in the rows, etc) and I need to now which characteristics are currently being showing in the Bex analyzer.
    So is there an ABAP class or function module I can use to find out this kind of information at run time?
    Any suggestion?
    Thank you

    Tank you for the feedback,
    I tried to use the class you provided, but I'm stuck now in how to get from within my class that implements RSR_OLAP_BADI interface, a handle, reference, o whatever represent my runtime query (not the query at design time) . As the class you provide must be instantiated before I can use
    In pseudo code could be something like this
    DATA my_query type query_ref.
    my_query = get_rt_query().
    my_query->get_state()

  • ABAP Classes and BADIs for HR

    Hi all,
    Can anyone give me a list of classes SAP has released for HR use by customers and all utility ABAP classes. Also any utility abap classes that would be useful for future. I am only interested in those relevant for ECC 5 and up.
    Could you supply the BADIs or Enhancement Spots for HR too.
    Thanks
    Wayne

    The BADI's I have found most useful are the BADI exits that duplicate the existing PA30 PAI / PBO User exits.  If you trace back to where the exits are called you will find the BADI call within a few lines of code - but the difference is that the BADI is called outside one layer of IF logic, so it gets called in some circumstances where the user exits do not - I think this was to do with certain change or copy data situations.
    Can't remember the name of the BADI, and do not have a system available to check at present, but it was not hard to find when I looked in the system.
    Others I have used are as exits in the HR to FI posting interface, and also some in the travel to vendor interface.  There is also an exit for customising the PERNR search help - cannot remember if this was a class or a FM.
    For moving data inside the user exits in a unicode compliant way there are classes for moving data from the flat PRELP character structure to individual infotype structures - CL_HR_PNNNN_TYPE_CAST=>PRELP_TO_PNNNN and CL_HR_PNNNN_TYPE_CAST=>PNNNN_TO_PRELP.
    For general unicode compliant constants such as a Tab character there is class CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES with attributes like CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB.
    Also if you go to SE38, select the Blue "Online Help" button, and then go to the ABAP Overview, you will find under the ABAP by Theme branch an entry "ABAP System Classes and Interfaces" which documents 20+ general ABAP classes
    Hope this helps

  • Creating ABAP class in XI for ABAP mapping

    Hi All,
    While creating ABAP class in SE80 XI I am getting following message.
    “You are not registered as a
    developer.
    Please register in the Online
    Service System (OSS).
    In the OSS you will receive

    Plz guide which role I required to do ABAP mapping/class creation.

    Hi Rohan,
    for developing abap you need a developer key. You can get it with the corresponding authorisation at <a href="https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000103676&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&">SAP OSS</a>.

  • WebDynpro ABAP vs WebDynpro JAVA for Adobe forms--PCRs--MSS

    Hi Experts,
    This might be a generic question :
    I am modifying PCRs (MSS 1.0,EP 7,ECC 6.0) and now I have come to a point where I need to decide if I have to use Webdynpro JAVA or Webdynpro ABAP for modifying Adobe interactive forms which come with MSS 1.0 out of the box from SAP.
    What does SAP suggest??
    What do you suggest??
    Quick answers appreciated

    Hi Aditi,
    Thanx for your suggestion but let me just detail what Iam looking for;
    I will have to develop a custom PCR for Hire/Rehire (no workflow -- weird right),
    now if I develop Adobe forms for this, my question is how am I going to bind these forms to the scenario (QISRSCENARIO).
    Whatever is entered  in  this form is not going through workflow but is going to be directly updated in the database when the manager says SUBMIT.
    Usually the HR developer goes to the scenario and selects input by Adobe form and clicks <b>generate</b>, but now if I develop the form using Webdynpro JAVA how am I going to integrate the generated form to that particular scenario.
    Sorry if Iam not clear enough, but I really need help in this regard.
    Thank you

  • Calling ABAP class methods from JAVA application

    Hi All,
    I want to fetch ITS related information (SITSPMON Tcode) in my JAVA application. But i didnt find much BAPIs for the same. While debugging I came accross few class methods with help of which I can get the required information. So is there any way we can call and execute methods of ABAP classes through java application?
    for e.g. I want to call GET_VERSION method of CL_ITSP_UTIL class.
    Thanks,
    Arati.

    Hi,
    Yes, as per my knowledge the only way to interact is using BAPI exposed as RFCs. So try to invoke those class methods in one CUSTOM BAPI and expose that BAPI as RFC and consume that RFC to get those details.

  • Is WebDyn ABAP or WebDyn JAVA better for developing Adobe forms ?

    Hi Experts,
    For our project development we have to decide the option of using Webdynpro ABAP and Webdynpro Java for developing Interactive forms.
    What are the pros and cons when it come to select between Webdynpro ABAP and Webdynpro Java for developing Interactive forms.
    Can someone provide the advantages and disadvantages over each other.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vinay,
    It depends on various factors. one is skill availability. IF client has Strong ABAP Development team, Client can go with WebDynpro ABAP, but if client has more Java skills, no issue in going with WebDynpro Java.
    In HR, If you choose to use WD-ABAP, you can use many standard WD-ABAP components as search helps. ( WD-abap components HRRCF_C* , HRASR_C* etc )
    But do keep in mind that, even if you go with WD-ABAP, you cannot do away with scripting using FormCalc or Javascript in Adobe Form depending on the complexity & UI elements/Search helps etc.
    I personally prefer WD-ABAP & would strongly recommend WD-ABAP. Afterall, it is the language of SAP :).
    Thanks,

  • ABAP classes

    Hello,
    I need to do some work on ABAP classes which I have never done before. therefore, I have a couple of questions which I would appreciate if anyone could help me with:
    First, what is the difference between all these classes compare to the traditional abap code.
    Second, are these classes similar to the classes in JAVA?
    Thirdly, is there any good place on the internet that offer some good introductory material on the topic?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Anyi

    Hello Anyi
    In terms of coding the syntax checks and rules are more strict within ABAP classes, e.g. you cannot use itabs with header lines (thanks to SAP they banned this finally!).
    However, in terms of thinking and structuring your coding it is completely different. If you are "thinking in objects" your focus basically on two design questions:
    (1) How many different objects do I need for my application?
    (2) Which attributes and methods do I need for my objects?
    Within your application you do not care if you have a single business object or hundreds of them (e.g. sales orders, employees, etc.) but you only think about a single object and its required properties. If you have multiple instances of your object(s) then you simply collect them in an itab or another class (-> composition of classes).
    Event handling is another huge advantage of ABAP-OO vs. classical ABAP because it allows loose coupling.
    Similarity of ABAP classes with Java classes is quite obvious although there are some minor differences.
    Understanding OO means understanding ABAP-OO, too. Thus, you should look for a good introduction to OO-design and OO-analysis. I can highly recommend the following books:
    - Head First: Design Patterns
    - Head First: Object-Oriented Analysis & Design
    The can be found

  • ABAP Class not displaying in operation mapping.

    HI,
    I have created abap class using se24 for throwing exception message in sxmb_moni, this abap class needs to be called in operation mapping, even though i have activated this abap class in PI environtment, i couldnt see the abap class option in the operation mapping.
    Could any one please let me know any change profiles requirements are required,
    Thanks,
    --Sai

    Hi Sai,
    Yes, you do have to register ABAP Class Mapping in the Exchange Profile to see this option in the Operation Mapping. Follow these step-by-step configuration guidelines:

  • Error handling in Abap Class for SAP Workflow

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to know if we have an option in abap classes used in workflows to send errors to the workflow log. We can achieve this in BOR Object methods by using the EXIT_RETURN <CODE> var 1 var 2 to send the errors back to the workflow, but how is this achieved through methods from classes  used in workflows.
    Appreciate your quick responses,
    Chaitanya

    Just raise exceptions in the normal OO way. Any exception that is a subclass of CX_BO_ERROR should be automatically available in workflow. Use subclasses of CX_BO_TEMPORARY for temporary errors.

I have describe bellow the environment configuration and the stack trace. The error which surprised me was when I use type 3 driver while starting weblogic I get ORA 24327 but when I use Type 4 it starts properly. If you could kindly provide solution it would be great help. I would also appreciate if u can provide information which driver to use where performance is the major concern. I would also appreciate if u could provide feed-back from the industry about booth the driver. Apart from that I have couple have environment where it occurs when 10/12 user access simultaneously. All the open connection is closed in program properly still am getting the error.

    Hi,
    I guess you can try some of these:
    - Make sure you're not missing an entry inside your tnsnames.ora file. Thin driver does not require the information inside that file, as opposed to Weblogic's OCI driver. If you are able to connect to the DB using a thin driver, then the problem is most probably (WL)driver-related.
    - Make sure you've properly configured the DB user / password inside your weblogic.properties (config.xml if WL6+).
    - Make sure you're able to access all drivers and classes required (PATH, CLASSPATH, etc...)
    - Make sure the OCI driver version you are using is fully compatible with the Oracle (server) version you are pointing to.
    - Try to access the DB user through some other client (for instance, SQLPlus*).
    Hope this is of some help,
    Freddy.

    Edited by: SwethaC on Jan 21, 2011 8:18 AM

    The error is due to RFC Call fail from PI system to your ECC Application System.
    Check your RFC Destination for ECC System type 3 in PI System.
    When you are receiving data from ECC System using Proxies & again you are going to ECC System for Validation.
    Why you are not doing this validation on ECC System only in your proxy code ?
    In your proxy code, it will be much better for performance to check your data there on same system.

    And when I run the Ant task from the command line, I don't get the error at all.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    That was a great finding from you. Thank you.
    I followed your alternative approach and updated the ant.jar file. The "Could not load class..." error went away but the stack trace still remains. Now I am clueless again since I have ant on the debug mode and can't find any more useful info.

  • Java class files not found error in jsp sub-directories

    Hello:
    I have a web-application that is setup in the following way:
    index.jsp
    test\index1.jsp
    WEB-INF\classes\test.class
    Both jsp pages index.jsp and index1.jsp uses the test.class in the WEB-INF\classes directory.
    The index.jsp page works fine.
    The test\index1.jsp gives me a "cannot resolve symbol" error. Error shown below:
    [jsp src:line #:19]
    cannot resolve symbol symbol : class test location: class test.index1 test ts = new test("hello");
    Any help at all is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Benny

    Hello Qiang:
    Thanks a lot for replying, and sorry for the delay in replying back to you. I have been searching the forums for a while and have yet to find anyone else with a similar problem. And yes, it is kinda wierd.
    But, anyways, I checked the java version from the windows command line as follows and it is using version 1.4.2:
    java -version
    java version "1.4.2_04"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_04-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_04-b05, mixed mode)
    Also, here are the contents of my test.class file:
    public class test
    private String t = null;
    public test(String t1)
    setTest(t1);
    public void setTest(String t1)
         t = t1;
    public String getTest()
         return t;
    Here are the contents of my index.jsp file:
    <b> hello </b>
    <%
    String test_str = null;
    test ts = new test("Hello from the main jsp directory");
    test_str = ts.getTest();
    %>
    <b> test_str is: </b> <%=test_str%>
    Click here to test your jsp index1.jsp file in the test sub-directory
    Here are the results from this jsp page:
    hello
    test_str is: Hello from the main jsp directory
    Click here to test your jsp index1.jsp file in the test sub-directory
    Here are the contents from the test/index1.jsp file:
    <b> hello from test sub-directory </b>
    <%
    String test_str = null;
    test ts = new test("Hello from the jsp test sub-directory");
    test_str = ts.getTest();
    %>
    <b> test_str is: </b> <%=test_str%>
    And here is what happens when I try to go to the test/index1.jsp page:
    Request URI:/benny_test/test/index1.jsp
    Exception:
    OracleJSP:oracle.jsp.provider.JspCompileException:
    Errors compiling:C:\OC4J\j2ee\home\application-deployments\default\benny_test\persistence\_pages\_test\_index1.java
    Line #     Error

         [jsp src:line #:5]
    cannot resolve symbol symbol : class test location: class test.index1 test ts = new test("Hello from the jsp test sub-directory");

         [jsp src:line #:5]
    cannot resolve symbol symbol : class test location: class test.index1 test ts = new test("Hello from the jsp test sub-directory");
    I will try putting it in a package like you said and see if that helps. Also, do you see a similar issue in your environment.
    Anyways, thanks for all your help. Hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks,
    Benny

  • Java compile error for removed API

    Hi,
    What are the Java compile errors for API that has been removed?
    As I understand it, API elements are deprecated and not removed from the API immediately, but will be removed in future releases or after so many years.
    When Java code is compliled in a higher Java version, and the API has finally been removed - what are the errors that will be ouput in the log?
    Thank you for your time.

    WalterLaan wrote:
    And if you recompile one with a method removed that the other use and then run the other you would get a NoSuchMethodError (or more generally just an error sub class of LinkageError).
    Not that you should be catching those unless you accept classes from the user (as plugins).Presumably you mean he should not be catching them?
    @OP: In general, you should not catch unchecked exceptions. These are RuntimeException, Error, and their descendants. There are exceptions, such as at "layer boundaries," or when you don't want errors in one module/application/plugin/etc. to affect or prevent processing in others.
