Replace all footage with different format

Hi All,
So I am aware about like changing some files by like renamming or moving the folder and opening the project and then pointing it to the new directory/whatever and that works great.
I am helping out a friend who does sound who's client is a mess and I need to figure out a fast way to fix this.
Long story short the poor kid shot on a redcam but had everything converted to .mov 720x480 files and edited in premiere elements. Well... The sound guy can't get an OMF from there so I took everything and imported it into premiere pro and started fixing a couple bits up and exported the OMF. Now I found out that the kid still has the R3D files. so I would like to replace every .mov and .mp4 file in this project to the r3d of the same name with just the r3d extension.
Meaning when I tried to move the other files and start replacing i had to manually locate each r3d and that would take forever...
I want to change the files to the much better quality ones, setup a proper sequence, keep his edits, and then speedgrade it for him but I am not willing to invest the time of manually replacing each file.
any ideaS?

Hi Jim,
I moved all the R3Ds (that's all he has, not other files associated to it) into the same folder so they are together, and that did not work
I feel bad for this kid as he has invested and is trying to do something, but doesn't know how. I may end up doing it the long way.

  • Mixing footage of different formats, different camera makes

    I have a colleague who wants to mix footage of different formats, from different camera makes. I recommended against it but, I have a feeling he thinks I'm making up the rule. Can anyone point me to some authoritative sources on this standard.

    It's pretty much common sense, really.  Ideally you'll want to use identical cameras with identical settings.  You can get away with certain differences, but those differences will add varying degrees of difficulty to your wok flow.  Here's the priority you should be working towards.
    1. Same model camera, with all settings identical.
    2. Same resolution, frame rate and format, but different model cameras.
    3. Same resolution and frame rate, but different formats.
    4. Same resolution, but different frame rates.
    5. Different everything.

  • Footage of different formats on one timeline; also different frame rates

    I need to edit footage of different formats on one timeline. The end product will be compressed for the web so I do not need to be working in HD.
    I have been using the timeline settings for DVCAM (720 x 480) Anamorphic.
    I have broll footage shot and captured at 960 x 720 59.95 FPS DVCPRO HD 720p60
    And Interview footage shoot in DV Cam -- 720 x 480 29.79 Dv/DVCPRO – NSTC
    When I put the HD footage on the timeline and render it, it appears to be in fast-forward – as if I adjusted the speed of the clip. I am wondering if it is caused by the difference in frame rates and also what I can do about it.
    Thanks!

    The main bulk of your footage is DV and DVCAM, with some B-roll at DVCPRO HD, and you need to deliver HDCAM? Then you either need to have a dub facility use a Terranex to upconvert all the DV to DVCPRO HD, or you need to invest in a Kona 3 and use that to upconvert your footage to DVCPRO HD...and also use that to output to HDCAM.

  • Numbers point to a cell with different formatting to create conditional format

    Hi all, not sure if this has been brought up but my search efforts haven't found anything. I know conditional formatting is not supported in IOS numbers but I saw a buddy do a little trick a while ago and I've been trying to replicate it. On his iPad, he created a numbers spreadsheet that had a logic function (=if). And if that function was true it pointed to another cell with different formatting. The result was, the cell would become the same format as the cell it was pointing too. This created the effect of a conditional format in a sense. I can get this to work with limited effect, only if the cell is a "text" cell and not a formula. As well the background colour doesn't get picked up, only the format of the cell text itself. I'm trying to get in touch with him for help but in the mean time does anyone have any experience in this kind of method?
    Cheers

    As an example:
    If A > B, then A-B, otherwise make it equal this other cell (D1 for example)
    {=if(a1>b1,a1-b1,d1)}
    And in that d1 cell I would make another formula that also does the same subtraction (a1-b1) however knowing it will be a negative number this time, I paint the cell bright red and hopefully the original cell will then look the same since it is now equal to this one.
    Unfortunately it looks like this wont work. The closest thing to doing this trick I have found is pointing to a cell formatted as text, such as a blank cell. Then the original cell takes on the formatting characteristics of the text cell.  The problem is the text cell is useless since it can't do any sort of math. I can't even set the cell to simply equal another one and format it as text only. So far it looks like the only conditional type of trickery I can do is make the numbers disappear by pointing to a blank text cell.
    I hope that helps describe it a little better.

  • SSIS project - read multiple flat files with different formats

    hi all,
    i need to import multiple flat files with different formats into different tables of the sql server database and not able to figure out the best way out in ssis to do so...
    please advise the possible methods in ssis to do so and if possible the process which can be dynamic as file names or columns might change in future.

    Hi AK1987,
    To import flat files with dynamic columns, we can use Script Task inside a Foreach Loop Container to parse the first row of the flat file to get the columns names and save them into a .NET variable, then, we can create “Create Table” script based on this
    variable, and then store the script into a SSIS package variable. After that, we create a staging table based on the package variable, load the flat file data to the staging table. Eventually, we load data from the staging table to the destination table. For

  • How to edit with different formats of clips

    Hi, I am sorry to as this question, I should know the answer but just ain't sure. I am making my reel and I have a bunch of stuff that is dv dvcpro NTSC and that is what the sequence setting is set to. 29.97 compressor is DV DVCPRO-NTSC. However, I have some footage that is DVCPRO HD 720P60.
    When its in the timeline the preview sure makes it look awkward, quality loss. What is the right thing to do here. Also, all my NTSC footage is 4:3, but what does my FC sequence register it as a NTSCDV (3:2) and not NTSC 4:3. Although it looks fine, I just want to understand my timeline settings. Thanks and hope to hear from someone.
    Also, can anyone point me in the right direction to learn how to deal with editing footage with different frame rates. For ex, some 29.97 footage, 23.98/24 Thanks

  • Too many flat files with different formats.

    Hi gurus,
    i have a headache problems. that is follows:
    We will upload data from flat files,but you know there are about 100 .xls files and with different formats.
    and as you know  the datasource of the flat file must correspond to every fields of the flat file.
    but you know there are 100 flat files and if we donot do any optimise,we will create about 100 transformation and 100 datasource to meet our requirements.
    but that seems impossible.
    is there any good idea to decrease the number of transfomation ?

  • All fields with !Format event blank when printing

    A client asked for assistance creating a new shipping label template with Adobe Output Designer 5.5, a program I've not used before. I had no problem creating the layout, and slapping the necessary fields on there (they had a few other templates I was able to use as examples). When I use Test Presentment from within Output Designer, the results look great - all the data fields and barcodes show up fine. When actually printing a label from Prophet 21, all the fields with !Format events defined are completely missing. I copied many of these !Formats from existing templates and adjusted them slightly to match the new label format, so I'm not sure why all those fields in the new template end up blank. I haven't made any changes to the default template preamble, which I've included below. What simple detail am I overlooking that's needed to make this work? Like I said, this is not a program I have much familiarity with, and a couple hours of experimenting and searching the web have proved fruitless.

  • Replace all occurrence with range - issue

    Hi,
    I have a range with "letters" like ":" or "-" or "."
    Note: all entries are with option = "equal"
    Now i need to "replace all occurrences" of "all entries in that range" with space.
    idea:
    loop at range assigning <range>.
    replace all occurrences of <range>-low in aaa with space
    endloop.
    Any better ideas ?
    Regards,
    Gordon

    Sorry but i think my question was not clear.
    is there another way instead of using the "loop" ?
    The translate or replace statement is not the problem

  • JList: items with different formats

    Hi everybody,
    Here it is my problem...
    I have this:
    listModelParameters = new DefaultListModel();
    jListParameters = new JList(listModelParameters);
    The listModelParameters has to be filled with this: String parameters[]
    The problem is that inside 'parameters' there are two different types: let's call them "required" and "optional". So, as an example, 'parameters' is like this:
    parameters[0]="REQUIRED", parameters[1]="param1", parameters[2]="param2", parameters[3]="OPTIONAL", parameters[4]="param3".
    What I want is that the "REQUIRED" parameters appear with different type of letter than the "OPTIONAL" ones.
    Currently I just have this:
    for (int i=0; i<parameters.length; i++) {
    listModelParameters.addElement(parameters);
    Could any of you help me, please?
    Thanks a lot,
    Fran.

    Don't forget to use the Code Formatting Tags so the posted code retains its original formatting. That is done by selecting the code and then clicking on the "Code" button above the question input area.
    I still don't know how to solve my problemRead the JList API where you will find a link to the Swing tutorial on "How to Use Lists". There you will find an example of how to create a renderer. Modify it for your purposes.

  • Appointment Letters with different formats

    Hello Experts,
    I want to generate appointment letters for different departments using different formats. How to create different formats for each department.
    Kindly advise.
    Regards,
    Devendra.

    The first question is can I do this with Reports?Yes, its possible in Oracle Reports. You can create multiple layouts in one report.
    Also sometimes I will need to print some forms with
    one format and not others. It can be done in reports. You have to use format trigger to hide or show a layout.
    Is there a way to configure the report to print some
    forms with their format if they have data and others
    not if they don't have data.You can create a summary column on a group to check how many records it has and in format trigger of the particular layout (frame) hide and show the layout based on this summary column.
    --- You have to use frame's format trigger to hide or show a layout

  • Re: Toshiba M10: replacing 7k200 HDD with Advanced Format" 7K750 HDD

    Can anyone see any problems with replacing the original Hitachi TravelStar 7K200 (200GB) hard drive, which came in my two-year-old Toshiba Tecra M10-11X, with a so-called "Advanced Format" 7K750 (750GB or perhaps 640GB) hard drive?
    Like the original I would like to dual-boot the new drive using three partitions:
    * Windows 7 32-bit
    * Data
    * Windows XP
    and would probably clone one disk to the other (increasing the partition sizes!) using v5 of Macrium Reflect.
    I've read up on the TravelStar 7K750 specs, the Hitachi Alignment Tool, the Microsoft KnowledgeBase article 982018 "An update that improves the compatibility of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 with Advanced Format Disks is available", Bit-tech's http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/sto...t-hard-disks/1, and so on, but wonder whether anyone has actually replaced the original hard drive with any Advanced Format disk, and so might have some experience to share?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    I dont have an experience using such Advanced Format" 7K750 HDD but in my opinion it should not be a big problem using such HDD.
    The notebook supports SATA interface and if this HDD would also support the SATA controller, then the HDD should be recognized too
    But of course this is my personal opinion...

  • Comparing two numbers with different formats

    Dear Java developers
    I am trying to compare two numbers but they have different formats. long x = 8981261369, Object obj = "8,981,261,369".
    I am trying to see if this two values are equal which is the case in the example above except one has a thousand separator but not sure how to do that.
    How can I lose the thousand separator and just compare them as two long values.
    Your input will be much appreciated
    Thanks

    iu433 wrote:
    I need a generic way of doing this. Because sometimes the Object does not have a thousand separator. Can i use some kind of NumberFormat to do this.You'll need to know what formats the string (not the number--as already mentioned, numbers don't have formats) can have, and then try them one by one.
    Of course, there can be some ambiguity. Does "123,456" represent one hundred twenty three thousand four hundred fifty six, or is that comma a decimal separator, and it represents one hundred twenty three and four hundred fifty six thousandths?
    The point is, you have to have a clear definition of what formats are allowed and how to determine which one it is. There's no magic way for Java to do that for you.
