Replace User msRTCSIP-GroupingID attribute with the OU ObjectGUID
Hello!
I am trying to create a script that will replace the users msRTCSIP-GroupingID attribute with the OU ObjectGUID
Can anyone help with this
Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase "OU=Test,OU=Tenants,DC=Mayernetworks,DC=COM"
$OUobjectGUID = get-ADOrganizationalUnit -filter * -searchbase "ou=test,ou=tenants,dc=mayernetworks,dc=com" | ft ObjectGUID

i'm getting the argument is null error

The attribute msRTCSIP-GroupingID should
not be used in a commercial hosting environment and is not supported by Microsoft due
to the privacy and security risks when providing multi-tenancy in a hosting environment. The use of the attribute only simulates a grouping of users in logical partitions, and does not create a true partition in which the security and privacy of the tenants
can be tightly controlled.

Good Afternoon Scripting Guys. I have a script that I have been working with pretty much all day today and just cant quite get it to play nice. Our objective is to search AD for specific users (say filtering them out with a username that starts with a "T")
and User account is "Enabled" then grab the last four digits of their phone number (phone number is set up as follows: (800) 123 456 ) then populate the IPPHONE attribute with the last four digits of their phone number. I have read a ton of online
blogs with users successfully making this happen but it appears that they are all using Quest (as the commands are all Get-qaduser and Set-qaduser). I need something that runs strictly in native Active Directory Module PowerShell on a Windows Server 2008r2
Domain Controller. I am also trying to keep it as simple as possible by using a Get command, then piping a Set command. I have saved the script into a .ps1 file with the logic as follows:
$SelUsers = Get-ADUser -filter {(SamAccountName -like "t*")} -Properties ipphone,telephonenumber -searchbase "OU=Test Users,OU=Temporary Org,OU=Test_Domain Users,DC=mydomain,DC=com" | where {($_.enabled -eq $True)}

set-aduser -instance $user}
What is happening is kind of funny, but aggravating at the same time. When we run the script, it completes with no errors. When I pull up the properties of a user in the OU, the IP Phone field is populated with the number 8. If the User
account did not have a telephone number, the IP Phone field is populated with a -4. So, apparently, the script is somehow subtracting the "-4" from the number of all of the Telephone Number field's characters. Basically 12-4 is 8.
If there is no telephone number, then 0-4 is -4. I have run the Get-ADUser portion of the script independently so I know its getting the correct users. I also know it is populating the IPPHONE attribute but not with the last 4 digits of the telephone
number. Can you guys help out and maybe get this to work correctly? Also, can you add logic to it to the script to delete any value in the IPPHONE field first, then replace it with the last 4 digits of the telephone.

LeeFirst thing I would do is modify your filtering. This will remove the unneeded piping to the Where-Object cmdlet and also allow us to only return users who already have something in the telephoneNumber field. It is possible this could return all of your
users, but if you have service accounts, etc. that do not have a telephoneNumber then they will not be included in your results. It's just a little cleaner.
$SelUsers = Get-ADUser -filter {(SamAccountName -like 't*' -and Enabled -eq $True -and TelephoneNumber -like '*')}
I suspect you may have a made a mistake when you entered what your phone numbers looks like. I assume that you forgot a final digit. If this is correct, and you have a space in the phone number between the three digits and the final four then you can use
the split method to grab the last four digits.
Foreach ($User in $SelUsers) {
$Number = $User.telephoneNumber.split(' ')[-1]
Set-ADUser -Identity $User -Replace @{ipPhone=$Number}
There's no reason to delete what's in the field first because that's part of what the -Replace parameter will do anyway. This should help get you started! -

How do I delete my user ID photo, taken with the camera in the MacBook Pro (when you first buy and set up the computer...). The photo keeps appearing randomly, even after I've changed it to a "better picture". I can't get the change to "stick". Anyone else having trouble with this? Thanks!

It's either hand right or left.
I have the same issue myself. Not sure if it's b/c my fingers are too big or if I'm really missed the letter on the keyboard. -

depending on values of LDAP attributes. Is it posssible to associate LDAP attributes
with the Subject?
We use iPlanet and hence I have configured iPlanetAuthenticator as the Authentication
Provider. Is it possible to configure iPlanetAuthenticator so that the LDAP attribute
values are associated with the subject? Or is it possible to extend iPlanetAuthenticator
for this purpose?
Is there a way to do this other than writing my own AuthenticationProvider?

Which LDAP attributes are you interested in? We can look at adding this
functionality

Object would have more then one attribute with the tag :VALUE
I'm creating a new component in Ultiboard - a 100 pin connector. This connector (Hirose) has 4 rows of 25 pins. Alternate rows are staggered. I'm trying to name each pin with it's appropiate name: A1, A2, A3 ....A50. Then B1, B2, B3 .....B50.
When I change the VALUE or NUMBER attribute, I get the DRC error message:
This action cannot be completed because the resulting Object would have more then one attribute with the tag :VALUE
Please remove one of the attributes and try again.
Okay, so I've tried deleting the tag and now I can't name the pin at all.
What am I missing?You should be in the footprint editor to edit the pin name. Select tools>>Database>>Database Manager, highlight the component in your database and click on the Edit icon. In the footprint editor, double click on the pad and a SMT or THT pin Properties dialog appears, select the Attributes tab and highlight the Number row, press the change button and you should be able to change the pin name.

I can retrieve the entries(user's information), but I can't add the

KatIt looks like you want to find out which groups the logged in user is a member of.
There are a couple of posts that will help you, first of all the post titled "JNDI, Active Directory and Group Memberships" at

In that post there is also a reference to the constructed attribute called tokenGroups. In the post http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=580113&tstart=60 you will find some sample code that illustrates the use of the tokenGroups attribute.
Also in your sample code, there is a slight mistake, you need to replace
String searchFilter = "(&(objectClass=group)(member=CN=mycompany//chong256))";with something like
String searchFilter = "(&(objectClass=group)(member=CN=chong256,cn=users,DC=mycompany,Dc=com))";the member attribute of a group always contains the full distinguished names of the members. -
Is it possible to purchase replacement Flash Card that came with the Cisco 1811 Router?
I am in desperate need of a replacement Flash card that came included with the Cisco 1811 Router. I purchased the router used and it was working perfectly. I worked my way through all the information provided at cisco.com and had it pretty much configured the way I wanted it. Until the flash card got destroyed. A little embarassed to go into details how it was destroyed, let's just say my Grandson gave it a bath.
It would be great if I could just purchase a replacement somehow with the IOS and SDM on it without purchasing a Cisco Service Agreement, etc. I purchased the router just to further my "Self Education". I have pretty much conquered all the aspects of the Cisco routers, etc. more or less developed for the Home Office user and moved on to bigger and better things. Since I was able to find a Cisco 1811 in good working condition very inexpensively I decided to go for it.

What's the best way to transfer all the content, including notes and apps, from my old 3rd gen to my new 4th gen. When I replaced my last iTouch with the 3rd gen I lost all my contacts and notes.
Backup the 3g by syncing in iTunes. Then connect the new one and sync everything to it from your backup.

There is something wrong with your LOV or with the way you populate your block. An LOV should not pop up when you query data into the block. -

Hi to all,
Since I've installed ML and also after 10.8.1 upgrade, my account is behaving very strangely.
It does seem to work, but every time I restart in my account, it takes ages and starts up app I've already closed (as if it was frozen when restarted), I get Toast 10, Disk Utility, App Store, Safari, Mail and Photoshop. Slowly, very slowly, in this order. I had improved, as I had some reboots with the Mountain Lion installer asking to instal Mac OS X!
Oddly enought, that first times Finder didn't show when I pressed Cmd-Tab for changing applications, it would show only if I clicked on the Desktop.
I did a clean install of ML and imported from Time Machine. I also did a "upgrade install", that is, over what I had (already ML).
I can't restart or close down unless I do it on the cold way, that is, pressing the power butto, as I can get no shutdown dialog, and if I choose from the Apple Menu, no matter what I choose, nothing seems to happen. Same when I choose "About this Mac", nothing happens, I have to manually open System Profiler.
But, in contrast, I can open from the Apple Menu App Store with no problems, for example.
Now I reboot and shutdown my Mac thanks to the Terminal!
Another "minor" inconvenient is that my Mail Rules weren't imported, and I don't know how to pass them to the new Mail, so all my Mail lies there in the "Inbox" unclassificated
If I go to a different user, then everything works apparently. So it must be something I have added, but it can be something installed many System versions before, so I have no idea on how to track it down, although I've deleted many old applications and preferences, including some problematic Fonts, Perian, etc.
I tried safe boot, but when I enter in my user, screen turns light gray and it doesn't start anything, so I have to force a cold shutdown again with the power button and restart again.
Safe boot with a different account has no problem again.
Sorry for the looong explanation, but, although I can work in my user, I'm worried as my work slows down a lot.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

I recently had my MacBook stolen. I have an iPhone which had selected playlists, photos, ringtones, and apps from my old iTunes. Now I have purchased a new MacBook Pro and would like to sync my iPhone with my laptop, which has a whole new (empty) iTunes library. However, when I choose "sync" my phone with the new iTunes, it says it will erase all items on my iPhone and replace it with my new iTunes library(which is empty). Can someone please help me?? I really would like to keep these photos and playlists!!
You can transfer items on your iPhone to iPhoto, iTunes, etc. the software merely transfer the data, it does not store it. Very handy software to have around.

PSE 7 always shutting down while cloning, etc.
I'm running AMD Athlon 64 2.2ghz, 3.5g memory. When I "push" Elements by cloning or working large areas of a photo I get a message that says "PSE 7 has to close". Any ideas?
