  • EE says time has run out for my data but I still have 500mb PAYG top-up ?

Hi. I received 10 gb data when I bought my phone 3 months ago.  EE says the time for this data has run out which is correct- however I still have 500mb of the monthly PAYG topup remaining (this is shown on the data, call, text remaining allowance screen. However away fromWifi I cannot access the internet..  It says I have no data - 'Time Run Out'. Any help appreciated

Hi Leanne, I tried contacting Customer Services via phone but just ended up going round in circles with the various options and not being able to speak to a person and basically getting nowhere.  So I went into the local EE shop and a very helpful and patient young lady listened to my story and phoned Customer Services who put her onto the Tech area - then back and forth between the two for over an hour till eventually they reset my account and credited me with a new PAYG monthly pack.  Now I can use the data allowance to access the internet as normal.  The only thing that I believe needs to be checked is that on my next purchase of PAYG I was due to get a 250mb Boost so I need to check I receive this as the text msgs I received from EE stated I was on my first PAYG purchase. Thanks Brendan

  • My imac is saying it has run out of application memory. What do I do?

What do I do for this issue--my iMac (less than 1 year old) is saying that it has run out of application memory.  Does this mean that I have to delete a bunch of applications?  It's running really slow and crashes all the time now and says the applications are "paused" and I need to force quit them.

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the  leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

  • Why are my new ink cartridges with my new printer running out so soon?

The answer is simple, this information is directly from HP tech support themselves.
( The ink cartridges that come with new printers are complimentary and are not full and the ink status monitor that is used in the HP software is not accurate.)
Also the more you use the cleaning utility to clean the printheads use most of your ink.
This means that when you get a newprinter you have to buy new cartridges on the spot while you are purchasing the printer because you will running out very soon.

What printer model? Where are you located?  The statements you make about starter cartridges are not true for any HP Inkjet sold in the US afaik.
It is true that running cleaning cycles will use ink.  Running excessive cleaning cycles is not a good idea, besides using ink it can shorten the life of the printer.  It is unusual for cleaning cycles to be needed at all during the life of a typical genuine HP cartridge.

  • HP Deskjet 3055A not printing because it says it has run out of toner.

After much printing of alignment pages and wasting of paper and new ink cartridges, as usual, the message is that my printer has no TONER.  This is a new one on me.  Can anyone help, does the HP Deskjet 3055A need toner....not ANOTHER expense.  If it does it really should give some warning, its now Saturday night, and  the mass of work and printing I wanted to do will obviously not be able to be done..  This product is just not satisfactory I've found.

    Hi @kazmount,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are getting the message that you are out of toner for your HP Deskjet 3055a. I am sorry for this frustration, but I am happy to look into this for you!
I read on another post of yours that copying and scanning is OK, and I am glad for that.
This printer takes ink cartridges, not toner. As toner is for Laserjet printers.

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see

  • Replaced ink cartridges and no ink shown on new print outs

I have a HP 8500 a9110 printer. I just replaced all three color ink cartridges (black cartridge is still good). After replacing, I tried to print and all that comes out are white print outs with no color or very slight tone. I attempted to go Tools and clean and align heads. The clean worked but received failure on align option. I turned off and unplugged unit and also removed and put back in new ink cartridges. I also removed the both heads and cleaned off with soft cloth. Has anyone experienced this issue before. Any assistance is appreciated.

    Hi vegasbuddha,
Sorry to hear that you're having problems.
Are you using HP genuine cartridges? I'm asking because using any other cartridges could result in many hardware
problems and issues also in ruining the printer.
If that's not the problem, can you take a look at this link and see if you've missed any steps in replacing the cartridge?
    Replace Print Cartridge
After replacing any cartridge, the printer should automatically print out a diagnostics page.
Also, cleaing the cartridges could help in this case. The instructions to do so are in this link:

  • New HP ink cartridges - still not printing black

New HP inks - but still not printing black. Have re-inserted; cleaned printhead; store replaced ink cartridge incase faulty; ink levels all full. No black printing; just good old faint grey. I am so frustrated with this printer and dont really want to have to schlepp it to the repairs place when it was working perfectly before I replaced the ink. Have had to pay the shop for 2 black inks as clearly the first wasnt faulty - it's the printer. Have even tied the APP suggestion but still grey where it should be black! Reluctant to take out printhead and wash it under tap. Should i try that?!!

    Hi @rhare
No, personally I suggest calling us instead. Some printers have printheads that are intended to be removed and cleaned if necessary, your printers printhead is fixed and is not intended to be removed.
If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
    I hope this helps.

Black Ink Cartridge empty, Color Ink cartridge full. Is it ok to replace only the black cartridge on HP 4635??

The cartridges can be replaced independently as they run out of ink, you do not need to replace black and color at the same time.

  • I sent in my iPod nano to the replacement program about two weeks back. However, I checked the status of the repair and it still says it has not been received yet. Is there any way to follow up on where the nano could be? I sent it via FedEx.

I sent in my iPod nano to the replacement program about two weeks back. However, I checked the status of the repair and it still says it has not been received yet. However, my boyfriend sent in his the same time I did and his repair status says repair being diagnosed. I still have the "receipt" of the package when they first sent it to me. I sent it via FedEx. Is there any way to follow up on where the nano could be or maybe find out if I can still get a replacement even though my nano might be lost in transit?

    I sent it via FedEx.
Call FedEx.  They will be able to track their own packages.  They will let you know if your iPod Nano was delivered and to who!

Are you sure it is 1043? I've never seen that error before. But you can try disabling your security software, connecting the phone to a USB port directly on the computer (not a hub), and trying to restore again.

  • Mac Desktop Manager - Device has run out of memory

So, long story short, this is the latest (of a very long string) of error messages. I have been able, with the help of these forums, to troubleshoot all the others.
I am syncing my BB 8120 (v4.5.0.174) to iCal with the Desktop Manager, only set to sync calendar. It simply drops with an error that the 'Device has run out of memory'. Checking the Applications tab shows 17mb of free space.
    History:
I got this Blackberry a few months ago, deciding I wanted a robust phone with good battery life that had email.
I use gmail. Apparently this is not compatible with BIS, and had continual problems. This is still unsatisfactory - I have to use the gmail app which causes problems (hanging) and does not support push.
I was dismayed to discover that a Blackberry sync client for Mac had only recently been announced, however I persevered.
When it was released, I started using it, but it has continually given errors on all manner of different combinations.
I recently solved the contacts problem by syncing using the Google sync, which syncs also with my mac over the air.
This is not a solution for the calendars because iCal does not support google calendars well enough for my liking.
The phone sporadically has a spinning hourglass, for what reason(s) I cannot determine, even after battery pulls etc.
Suffice to say I have spent hundreds of hours troubleshooting this phone over the last months. For a phone whose main selling functions are email and organisation, it does neither of these reliably or well.
If I do not solve this problem soon I will return to my old phone which supported everything above more reliably, and had 4 times the battery life to boot. The only thing I would miss is the qwerty keyboard.
    Mac OS 10.6.2 MacBook Pro

Ah yes, good old Project Manager. There are plenty of times when it causes more problems than it solves.
You might try deleting the following folder:
    User/Library/Preferences/Logic/PM Data
If you use Project Manager, it's easy enough to rebuild the table. If you don't then don't worry - just delete it. By the way, if you're into Project Manager or would like to know more, go to the website of the perhaps the most generous man in the Logic world, Edgar Rothermich and grab some of his user manuals.

  • I've updated my Macbook Pro and my iMac with Maverick, updating the various apps. On my Macbook, everything functions perfectly. On my iMac, I get the Your System has Run out of Application Memory, and it's based our Mail, the only app not updated. Ideas?

    Maverick and Your System message
I've updated my Macbook Pro and my iMac with Maverick, updating the various apps (Pages, Aperture, iPhoto, Numbers & iMovie, too) in the process.
On my Macbook, everything functions perfectly. On my iMac, I get the Your System has Run out of Application Memory message. But it's not Calendar, it's Mail that not only won't open, but when it does now, it takes the entire system out with it.
I open Safari, and it works. I open Firefox, and it works and Safari still works. I open Calendar and it works, Safari and Firefox continue to work. I open Reminders, and everything still works.
I open Aperture, and it opens Finder instead, showing the 3.5 update that was installed two days ago (and Aperture has functioned), but doesn't seem to update the app; after about 20 seconds the update disappears and I can now open Aperture and it shows I'm now opening the updated Aperture, which it didn't show before.
I click on Mail, and the cursor spins for ten minutes. The mail window finally opens, but the cursor spins and does not connect to upload new mail, and I finally Force Quit Mail. Since the Maverick update, even though Mail was not updated (and maybe because Mail was not updated), I have been able to receive emails twice, and then the program crashed.
Besides the Aperture app, Pages didn't fully update on the iMac, and I had to remove the old Pages icon from the dock after the new program loaded up from Applications.
    Any ideas?
