Replacing Home Space with a specific Group Space.

Hi,
We have a Webcenter Spaces 11.8 environment.
We are trying to completely bypass the home space and take the user to a specific space.
While this is possible to do it through the initial redirection based on application/enterprise role, some re-directions are causing the user to land in the home space.
Also, the user can get to the home space pages by typing in the url. We want to restrict the user from viewing the home space altogether and replace it completely with our group space.
Approach1 : Page Links -
We tried to bring in pages from the group space into the home space navigation model as page links. Even if the group space is public, we cannot link to its pages as we cannot see the pages in the page link popup. Only home space pages are shown. Is this expected? How do we bring in pages from a specific group space into the home page navigation?
Approach 2: Group Space Pages Query -
We can bring all the pages from the "Default Navigation Model" of the group space into the home space navigation model. However, the landing page upon login needs to be a visible page in the home space. How do we get the user redirected to a specific page in a group space and make that node as selected once the user logs in.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Check this code.
data : role(10) type c value 'crick ter',
       role1(10) type c,
       role2(10) type c.
write: / role.
SPLIT role AT space INTO role1 role2.
concatenate role1 role2 into role separated by '_'.
write: / role.

  • Syncing iPhone contacts with a specific Group on iCloud/computer

I am using iOS 7 and run Mavericks. I want to sync (be it either through iCloud or through the desktop) the contents of my iPhone contacts with a specific group of contacts on either iCloud or a group in Contacts. How do I do that?

    Hello Jim,
It took forever. With MobileMe, it was immediate.
Up in the cloud the clocks seem to tick differently and time is relative, so we will just have to learn to be patient ...
To be serious, the first iCloud experiences seem to be different on the different continents, depending on the time zone you are in. In Europe there does not seem to be so much traffic up in the Cloud during day time  as in the states,

  • OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space, with lots of heap space left

Hello. I've been seeing my web app (running on Linux) start to throw OutOfMemoryError(s) after a few days of running time. The following is the output of jstat -gc every 10 seconds. From the last 8 lines or so, it seems that the eden space is full, but both survivor spaces and the old gen space have plenty of room - it's like garbage collection has stopped, and no memory is getting freed in eden - hence the OutOfMemory errors.
Am I misinterpreting the log output? What could be going on?
    thanks.

  • How to replace missing fonts with a specific font (and not a suggested font)

    Hello all!
Looking to replace missing fonts within my document - but the drop-down selection only gives a couple of suggestions, none of which are the font I want to use.
How can I replace the fonts with a font of my choosing?
I've attached an image to give more clarity - notice how the drop-down only gives the option to select between 3 fonts without an option to select your own font - many thanks!

Same problem! The only solution I found is to prepare a textbox in a new file with all the font you need. Copy and past in the file you need to change font. Go to type/risolve missing font. Will open the same window in the pic you pasted. Then you find the font in the dropdown menu. I have to change all the Helvetica family ...it's a long go. If some one could save me. Hope to be usefull to your problem.

  • WGM creates new home folders with _unknown user/group, SA can't change it

    A little background:
In our school we've got an xserve (about 1.5 yrs old), that was having issues last year. (the OD database pretty much ate itself). in august we did a clean install of 10.5, and updated to 10.5.3 (after suffering through the AFP/OD issues in 10.5.2). Because of the corrupt database from the last server, and the fact that a large number of our accounts have migrated through 4-5 iterations of servers from 9.2 on through 10.4.11, we created all new clean accounts by hand in WGM and moved the user files to the new home folders, changed user and permissions with SA to the new accounts and propogated that info to all the files for each home folder. everything has been going fine since then.
    until this week.
the issue was discovered when we tried to create a new staff account (we created several accounts last week with no issue). in WGM everything looked fine. it created the account, assigned it to the proper group, and sucessfully created a home folder. the problem however was when we went into SA to change the permissions. we don't need everybody seeing everyone else's files, so we change the default group and everyone permissions to something more appropriate (don't even get me started on that gripe). When you navigate to the new home folder you just created in WGM, it shows the owner as _unknown (read/write) and group _unknown (read only... I think), Everyone (read only). Server Admin refuses to change the user or group. doesn't matter whether you use the 'show users/group' dialog and drag the account, or whether you edit it manually and insert the short name or UID. when you hit save, it stubbornly reverts back to unknown/unknown for user and group. we've tried creating accounts with different templates, no template, different account names and UID's, all with the same result.
The odd part is that nothing in the OS has changed since we first set it up and created all the users. nothing installed, nothing updated...
We've stayed at 10.5.3 due to the disaster in one of the updates (10.5.5 I think) that many of our other local districts had with network accounts not being able to see their own library folders due to permission issues, as well as the AFP causing 100% CPU use bug reported with 10.5.5
A second, probably related issue is that when browsing home folders in Server Admin filesharing, any files our network users create seem to end up assignedunknown/unknown for user and group (as far back as October it seems). After searching around the net most of the day I came across a lot of info about the _unknown user issues for folks upgrading from 10.4, but these are all newly created 10.5 network users (not local) logging in and working in home folders on the server. The original owners can read/write/delete these files as normal.
Any help would be most appreciated.

ok... I find we were shot in the foot by one of our own.
The quick answer: DO A GET INFO ON THE VOLUME WITH THE SHAREPOINTS! if the 'ignore permissions on this volume' box is checked... UNCHECK IT!
Explaination: not sure how the ignore permissions box got checked, but I don't think it was done directly by human hands. we use Carbon Copy Cloner Ver. 3.something (not sure which at this point) to back up both our data (daily) and server (weekly) drives to remote storage. by striking coincidence, things started saving with _unknown user and group about the same time as crash reporter shows that CCC hosed itself. My guess is that CCC temporarily ignores permissions (as shown in the status when you do a clone) and then resets them to their original state. when it crashed, it looks like they were still set to ignore, so it happily set it back to that state every time it ran after that. not sure why the account creation issue suddenly turned up after so long... In any event, it turns out that if you have sharepoints on a server volume, AND you set the OS to ignore permissions on that volume, BAD things happen (I'm not sure it should even be an option on a shared volume, but that's for the engineering folks to figure out.) .... specifically, the symptoms above. if you login as root (yeah, I know that's something you should never do) and uncheck the ignore permissions box on the volume, then log into WGM, as root (yeah, yeah, I know... even worse) and set ALL of the Directory Administrator accounts to 'do not administer this server', and no change rights for the directory, save those settings, and then set them back to 'administer this server', and FULL rights to change the open directory, save again. and then WAIT until the drives stop going nuts... after that everything works fine.

  • Document Manager Disabled for Group space

I am using 11g, I have installed webcenter and ucm in webcenter. Users login to webcenter using jazn xml. Users are able to create personal documents in UCM and the same is displayed properly in the Personal space when logged in webcenter.
But in Group space , the document manager is disabled. and the following message is displayed
"Contact the administrator to ensure that the configuration is correct and that the directory exists and is accessible"
I login to the Content Manager Server and see the Spaces ( this is the root folder mentioned in the webcenter UCM configuration in the Enterprise Manager) folder has been created.
Any help on enabling the Document Manager in a group space would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Venkat

For specific group space , there is an id for it.
you will find this id for a particular space when you go to administration page and select groupspaces and then right click actions (about the spaces ).
    Next step :
Go to jdeveloper.probably you are using extendedspaceswar.
There you have to created a packege(java package) . Name of package will be same as group id. The location of the java package will be at customResourcecatalog->application sources->custom.oracle.adf->rc->metadata->scopedMD->
(your package) . Under this package create Groupspacecatalog.xml file.
In groupspacecatlog mention the document services taskflow .
    <resource id="doclib-document-library"
    name="Document Service Taskflow"
    repository="application.classpath"
    path="doclib-service-view.jar/ADF_TaskFlow/oracle+webcenter+doclib+view+jsf+taskflows+mainView.xml#doclib-document-library"/>
In that way you will find the document services availabe in your spaces.
N.B:Apart from this, you need to ensure that document services are selected for this groupspaces.

  • CLOB to BLOB replacing spaces with Â

I have a CLOB that we are converting to a BLOB using DBMS_LOB.CONVERTTOBLOB and then serving it up as a file using WPG_DOCLOAD.DOWNLOAD_FILE. When you open the file, it is replacing the spaces with a Â.
    Any thoughts?

Most likely, the spaces in the original CLOB were not regular spaces (0x20) but rather non-breaking spaces (0xA0).
What's the target encoding used to convert to BLOB? I suppose UTF-8?
UTF-8 encodes non-breaking spaces as 0xC2A0, where 0xC2 is specifically the codepoint for "Â". So I think the tool you're using doesn't support UTF-8, or doesn't recognize the file as being properly encoded.

  • Powershell (Replacing White Spaces with a comma)

The object property values output tends to be tabular with varying white spaces between each column. I’m looking for a script that will allow me to:
Output the object property values to a file
Remove all white spaces encountered (regardless of the number of spaces)
Replace the spaces with one (1) comma
Replace isn’t the answer unless I literally define each instance of spaces and I can’t find any discernable documentation on using Regex…
-- formattting the output doesn't help either...
Any guidance / help would be appreciated
    Roderick

Let's say I ran the PowerShell command below:
    Get-ClusterResource  -Cluster ClusterName | Where-Object {$_.Name -like "SQL Server (*"}
The output would be something along lines of what you see below.
I typically output the result set to a csv file, strip the header, replace the spaces with a single comma, and bulk import the data into a SQL Server table for reporting.
Basically, I'd like a "dynamic way" (not replace with the literal space count between double quotes) of getting rid of the spaces between the columns and replace the spaces with a single comma.

  • Replacing multiple spaces with a single space

    Hi friends,

This site is doing exactly what you want the function to do: it replaces multiple consecutive spaces with a single space. As a result, it's hard to see what you mean.
To preserve spacing on this site, type these 6 characters
\(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section where you want spacing preserved.
    2. ' a b c d e f g h ' should be changed to 'a b c d e f g h'

    Thanks in advance!Regular expressions make this easy:SELECT TRIM ( REGEXP_REPLACE ( str
    , ' +'
    ) AS compressed_str
    FROM table_x;
You can use nested REPLACE calls to get the same results, but it's messy.

  • I saturated all the available iPad (3rd. generation) screen space (home screens or desktop space) with apps, and the apps that got bumped out of the last screen, mysteriously disappeared? Where are those missing quick lauch app icons?

Running my 3rd generation iPad on iOS 7.0.4, I saturated all the available iPad screen space (which would be the 15 home screens or desktop worth of space) with apps, and the apps that got bumped out of the last screen space mysteriously disappeared. Where are those missing quick lauch app icons now? The apps are still installed and can be searched/accessed through the finder, but they no longer have a user friendly access. How can I solve this problem?

Hi Hexonxonx, thanks for trying to help, but next time please read the entire discussion, in oder to better comprehend what is being asked. The reason being is that your answer added nothing to what had already been mentioned.
Like I said, I was aware it was possible to access the apps through the finder, but the question revolved around how to recover the quick launch app icons for certain vanished apps.
Wow, kind of a snotty response to someone who was taking their own time to offer help.  Whether you thought it was helpful or not, didn't deserve such an unkind retort.  Maybe when you realize we all just users here trying to help others like you, who have issues and we don't get anything in return for the countless hours some people here spend offering that assistance, you'll maybe be a little less quick to be critical.
    Just sayin.......
Oh and Meg offered the right answer.  Put your Apps in Folders, which will create extra space for the apps which have disappeared.

  • Replacing multiple spaces with another character

i need to replace multiple spaces with another char in a string
    my code is
Dim text as String="a bit much             a little much" Dim arr As String() = text.Split({" "c}, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries)Dim newtext As String = String.Join(" ", arr)            MsgBox(newtext)
it returns to "a bit much  a little much "
But i want to replace only long spaces with "="  as  "a bit much =a little much"
    How can i do that?

This version uses two spaces to split the string and then trims any additional single spaces. It returns "a bit much = a little much".
Dim text As String = "a bit much a little much "
    Dim parts() As String = text.Split({" "}, StringSplitOptions.RemoveEmptyEntries)
    Dim newText As String
    If parts.Length = 2 Then
    newText = parts(0).Trim & " = " & parts(1).Trim
    End If

  • Filename: Replace spaces with underscores

    Greetings,
I have searched the forum and online and have not found an
    answer.
    So posting here for assistance.
What is the proper syntax for replacing spaces in file names
    with under
scores prior to cffile upload? -or- what is the best method
    to accomplish
    this process?
    Example:
    document name.doc >> document_name.doc
    Thanks
    Leonard

you can't change the filename before the file has been
    uploaded to your
    server.
    upload a file using cffile.
#cffile.serverfile# variable will contain the name with which
    the file
has been saved on your server.
check if the name contains any spaces using find() cf
    function.
if it does, use cffile action="copy" to copy the file as a
    file with no
spaces in the name (use replace() cf function to replace
    spaces with
    whatever you want).
[you may want to make sure prior to copying the file that
    there is not
already a file with same name (with no spaces) in that
    folder, otherwise
the copy action will overwrite existing file]
    delete original file.
details of all the functions are in the CFML Reference. if
    you do not
have one - download free from adobe.com
