Replication tool

Hi Friends,
My requirement is replicate between oracle databases. Please refer my below requirements and guide me which tool I have to use for the replication.
1. table level replication
2. read the rows from the logs which related to the replicating table, not to read others tables.
3. faster replication and high availability and cost .
Please recommend any tools or share weblinks. Thanks in advance.

  • Where can I find FPGA replication tool (Set RIO Device Settings.vi) for LabVIEW 2013?

I just upgraded to LV2013SP1 and came across a VI that now is broken in my project: Set RIO Device Settings.vi (which is a part of RIOSystemReplication2009.zip). Apparently this happened in 2009 as well for a different VI in the same collection of tools (see Where-can-I-find-FPGA-replication-tool-for-labview-2009. I tried the mentioned VIs in this article but both of them are broken). Note that the Replication and Deployment (RAD) Utility does not seem to support the functionality that Set RIO Device Settings does, so I still need to use the old one.
Since the VI is password protected I cannot attempt to fix it. Might be something as simple as a type that changed...
    Any help appreciated!

    Hey Rob,
This problem has already been brought to NI R&D's attention, and they are working on a fix under Corrective Action Request (CAR) 454468. Unfortunately, until they fix the problem there may not be a way to correct the problem in the near future. The CAR is set for higher priority, so a fix could come shortly.

  • IFolder is a block base replication tool ?

as per Novell iFolder for Replication - TechStop
"iFolder is an open source product developed initially by Novell. It gives you a folder that will do block level synchronization over the Internet"
And as per Cool Solutions: Setting Up Novell iFolder
"When the user updates a file on any of the client workstations, the changed information is periodically updated to the Novell iFolder server. Data is mapped in 4KB blocks and only the changed blocks are transmitted"
i.e in short by quoting the two references above, it seems that iFolder is a block based replication tool.
is it really a block based replication tool, or iFolder is a File base replication tool.

It focusses on files, and then if a file is edited, it does a block
    level replication.
However things that rename the file. work on a temp one, delete the old
one, then rename tmp to the original name, may look like a block change,
but are really a file level change.

  • SAP LT 2.0 && SLT Replication in HANA : query

    Hello LT experts,
I am sure that we could use SAP SLT Replication (Data provisioning method) using HANA with source system as SAP or Non SAP SYSTEMS.
Please advise if the same works with SAP LT.20 for system landscape transformation project.I mean source for SAP LT2.0 would be Non-sap and target ofcourse would be SAP (which could be consolidation of many existing SAP productive systems).
    Thank you
    Shishupal.

    Hi Shishupal,
If I understand correctly, you are looking for difference between SLT in HANA and SAP Landscape Transformation 2.o(SLT again ). Both these two tools are from same framework. But SLT in HANA is used as a replication tool, whereas, as you said we use HANA as a secondary database and the source is may be SAP or NON SAP. In case of SLT 2.0, this tool is used in during company marge, merging company code, merge profit area (used basically when two company merge scenario etc). May be you already know that for SLT in HANA requires DMIS addon in 7.02 netweaver systems like wise for SLT 2.0 DMIS is required for SLT 2.0 ad additionally one more addon component SHC_CONT is required. So we have two things
    SLT replication tool
    SLT 1.0 or 2.0

  • DC removed from site ! But replication happening.

    Hello All,
My environment consists of 10 sites and 20 DCs. Windows server 2008 R2 - single domain single forest.
I run MS replication tool every week to monitor the replication status of my forest\domain.
From last week, users from a site reported with authentication issue after resetting the passwords w.r.t AD integrated applications and system logon.
Upon, i was checking on the reported site and found Two domain controllers were missing from the site, also the DC showing blank in site column in the DC OU in AD.
Again, i tried running MS AD replication report and found no issue reported. Surprised!. And logged in to those missing DC and executed repadmin /showrepl, repadmin /replsummary and found the replication was success with other DCs without any issues.
Can DC be part of replication without being present in AD SITES? could someone clarify? How it is getting replication with other DC.
Then, execute DCdaig and found errors like below in the missing DCs from site.
    REPLICATION LATENCY WARNING
ERROR: Expected notification link is missing.
             Source SERVERB1
Replication of new changes along this path will be delayed.
This problem should self-correct on the next periodic sync.
             REPLICATION LATENCY WARNING
Also, i am looking for how DC can get removed from AD sites apart from manual intervention.
    Regards,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for posting.
You DC should be showing in sites and services somewhere, and should be present in ADUC and ADSIedit.
Can you, from one of the DC's that are not showing do a DCDiag /a and post the results.
    Thanks

  • Replication problems with slow ( 20kB/s line)

Yesterday we noticed on our production database that replication did not run anymore because of an error in one record. This forced us to re-iniitalize the subscription. Maybe this is exactly what we should not have done but we did . The result was that
production stopped because of the first part of the replication to dump all the tables and make new empty ones. The problem is that this does not seem a good idea for a slow connection between 2 machines. Better would be that we could just restart the replication
from a backup but as far as I know this is not possible.
So my question is now what can we do to speed up the replication if there is no way that we can improve the line quality. (One server is in NL and the other in CN, and as everybody know there is the great big firewall in Bejing which controlls all the internet
    traffic. )
Is there a way to prevent replication from emptying the tables and fill them again.
    Many thanks Peter Kaldenberg

I know that probably there is a problem with our firewalls but the fact remains that we are facing with slow connections so I ques what can we do at SQL level to speed replication or better not to have to do bulk copy over the net. In-fact why does SQL not
use some kind of delta protocol. When only data is involved this should work. Of course when the layout of tables has been changed then it makes sense the tables has to be rebuild but not for data.
Maybe a solution could be to use check-sum checking and only update these records which are different and of course add the missing once.
Additional why does the replication not give information how far the bulk copy is at least then the user knows its still working. Now what ever setting I change after 10 min the replication does not give any useful information. Which results in that the
user is thinking that the replication does not work anymore.
What about 3rd party replication tools are they any better?

  • Which database version supports replication for 120000 records/table

    Hello everyone,
I am being asked about which DB version supports replication for the case where the number of records exceeds 120000 per table (probably more). I never used replication before so I can't give advice about it.
Should SE one be used? SE, or EE?
Advice please, if possible some references as well...
    yours

Either version will support more than the number of rows mentioned above. With replication there are many choices but with Standard Edition, it becomes more limited. I worked for Quest Software and we have a product called SharePlex which is an Oracle replication tool which support both Enterprise Edition vs. Standard Edition. We even have a special pricing for Standard Edition as well.

  • 2008 R2 Replication Problem

Over the weekend I had to replace one of our 43 domain controllers. Pretty standard practice of demoting the old one, waiting for replication and so on.
For the second time in a month I noticed a problem. The DC I demoted was one of two in a site. I demoted it and the other DC in the site saw the demotion. However it never replicated to anywhere else, even after 2.5 hours. (We have 15 minute replication).
I looked and the remaining DC has a replication setup (auto generated) to one of the servers in our main site and it would not replicate even when I selected to replicate now.
I saw this a few weeks ago when I replaced a DC in the main site, the other four in the site saw the change but the replication never left the site for 3 hours in that case.
I ran commands to check replication and all seemed fine.
I never have a problem when I demote the only DC in a site, it replicates out right away to all DCs, only sites that have more than one DC have a significant delay or don't replicate at all.
Does anyone know things to look for when all the replication tools show no problems but something like this happens?

If you look at the DCs in that site, you see connection objects where those DCs replicate FROM another site, that doesn't mean that dose connection objects are used to replicate changes OUT of the site. For this connection objects are setup on other DCs
that replicates FROM the effected site, it is _those_ connection objects that need to be adjusted, and that takes place when the current ones have been detected as stale.
Even if there is multiple replication paths it doesn't mean they are all used.

  • Replication Alternative

    Hi,
We've been asked to come up with an alternative to existing replication mechanism.
Is there any way we can accomplish the synchronization of two LDAP Servers located across two different environment. I can think of taking out a dump from Server1 and importing into Server2, but that will be a huge task, and i''m not sure, if importing the entire thing on Server 2 will be a favorable step.
Also, the LDIF runs into Megs, to compare two LDIFs is not something we can think of. And further creating another ldap modify ldif file. As a googled, there is a utility in openldap -- syncrepl, do we something similar in DS 5.2 Patch 6?
Please let me know if you've any suggestion, i'm really into trouble. Any help will be appreciated. Also, does anyone has any script to do so.
    - Pamela

    Pamela,
We've been asked to come up with an alternative to existing replication mechanism. Is there any way we can accomplish the synchronization of two LDAP Servers located across two different environment.Well, one way would be to write a script to read the change logs and pull entries from directory that were added, modified, or deleted and apply them to the other LDAP server. I don't know why it would work better (or even as well) as using the existing replication tools.
Alternately you could set up a persistent LDAP search (Google it for the details) and let it tell you about changes that have been made. I don't know if DS 5.2 supports it.

  • Data Replication issue for R/3 on i5

    QUESTION:
    1) Do we need the data in following 2 files to be replicated when the production operation runs on
    Stand-by system?
DBSTATIDB4 Index Sizes in the Database (statistical data)
DBSTATTDB4 Table Sizes in the Database (statistical data)
    2) If we don't need data in those 2 files when production operation is underway on Stand-by,
please let us know any considerations if you have.
    BACKGROUND INFO:
Although our customer has two R/3 system on i5 configured as a production and a stand-by system
and replicate R/3 production data to stand-by system using data replication tool called MIMIX,
sometimes we encounter a problem with the data of following files are out of synchronization.
    Files cannot be replicated:
DBSTATIDB4     F@Index Sizes in the Database (statistical data)
DBSTATTDB4     F@Table Sizes in the Database (statistical data)
The reason for that is  because of the new DB function called fast-delete since V5R3.
This problem happens due to the fact that this function execute ENDJRN/STRJRN and it makes
    problem within MIMIX replication operation.
In order to avoid this problem, we'd like to make sure that it's possible to eliminate these files
out of synchronization and need more information for these files.

    Hello Yuhko,
first of all thank you very much, that you are the first user/customer, that is using this new and great forum !!!
We will move lot's of further customers into this forum soon.
Fortunately, yes you can ignore these 2 tables if you like - they are not really interesting for the healthy of your SAP system. But, are you really on the latest PTF Levels of V5R3 - because I know this error and it should be fixed in the meantime - perhaps you need a newer MIMIX version as well - you should at least check.
Then you could configure to run this "crazy" job not twice a day, but once a week only - that makes even your system faster ... This could be done in ST03 in the collector configuration. It is RSORATDB or RSDB_TDB in TCOLL - depending on your SAP release.
    But again:
If you want to exclude these 2 tables from replication you are fine as well - but I would make this job even more rarely for better performance.

  • Data Replication issues

    Dear All Good Day,
I  am in need of loading data into my target reporting database from production database, currently it is working by using JOB SCHEDULER but it has some bottlenecks.
I want something else like Golden Gate / Streaming or any other oracle technologies that will help to load me real time or semi real time data loading / replicating to target system.
In this context my requirement is
Firstly:  To load target db I want to use production db archived logs or standby db and not the production db by querying it or configuring /installing anything on it for this purpose.
Secondly: I want the CDC (Change data capture)
Thirdly: Not the whole a portion of a table say last three months data will be loaded to target db.
Any idea or help is highly appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Kaysar

    Hi Kaysar,
The same topic is discussed before, please see the following as it would definitely help you.

FYI, Golden gate is the latest replication tool released by Oracle.
    Hope this helps!

  • Whats so special with Advanced Replication feature of Oracle

    Hi Techies,
I had a long term doubt on this. When the same functionality can be done using triggers and jobs, why should such advanced replication exist to use all those 5-10 packages and all those mess. What other thing in replication does differentiate it from its rival, manual work ie using triggers and jobs.
    Siva

Why use Oracle Replication? Where to start?
    (1) Re-inventing the wheel is never a good idea. especially when there's a high risk of inventing it square-shaped.
    (2) Oracle will support their replication implementation: they won't support yours.
    (3) QUERY_REWRITE_ENABLED
    (4) efficiency: Oracle's inbuilt kernel code is simply faster than anything we can write
    (5) Do you really mean Advanced Replication and not just materialized views?
"all those mess"Obviously you've never had a business requirement that really necessitated replication. It is a messy area. We are maintaining a single view of the data in multiple physical locations: that's not clean. Consider: performance, freshness of data, data integrity, data ownership, conflict resolution. Consider deployment and synchronisation with a workforce of remote, disconnected users. Once you have to really wrestle with those sorts of issues you will come to appreciate the flexibility, robustness and completeness of Oracle's replication tools.
There are so many gotchas in just setting up the replication architecture using Oracle's box of bits that only a mad man would want to add building their own set of low level components into the mix. Now, you may have a very simple replication requirement that could be satisfied with a few triggers and a DBMS_JOB. Are you sure that requirement is fuilly scoped? Furthermore, are you sure that your requirement won't get more complex in the future? And do you really think it will take you less time to knock up some triggers and related database objects that it will do to issue a CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW statement (and maybe a CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW LOG too)?
Oh, and spare a thought for the poor saps that will have to maintain th eapp after you've gone. They'll probably be happier with a standard Oracle implemenation that is well-known well-documented and for which there are training courses.
    Life is too short.
    Cheers, APC

  • Netware Block File Replication

Not sure where the best place to post this is but the Storage Media seems

ZFS can do it. It can do it at specified hours and such. I would highly
recommend Avanti TaskMaster. It'll do a lot more than sync, and it will
sync trustee information, extended attributes, ownership, date/time stamp,
multiple namespaces, etc. It's licensed per server it's installed on.

  • "Set IP Address.vi" crashes with Error 56 (timeout)

I use a CompactRIO-9014 controller with LabVIEW 8.5 on a Windows Vista laptop. The cRIO communicates with the laptop over a crossover cable. I am trying to do system replication using the "Set IP Address.vi" to assign an IP address to my cRIO. The MAC address supplied to the VI is gathered correctly from the "Find All Targets.vi". The hostname used for the cRIO is the name assigned to it in Measurement and Automation Explorer. I downloaded the "Set IP Address.vi" from the LabVIEW Real-Time Module --System Replication Tools(Version 8.x), dated 08/17/2006. The same problem was located on www.ni.com > Search > Set IP Address.vi problems. There, a responder stated that the user should seek the most recent version of the System Replication Tools, and the problem should be therefore corrected. However, my 08/17/2006 version still has this error, and I cannot find a more recent version on www.ni.com.
A sample program that exercises this VI is attached as Replicate 04.vi.
Is there a user out there who has encountered this problem and found a solution?
