  • Set-up custom font, font size, and color for writing new and reply e-mails in Thunderbird

    I know that I can select the font, size, and color for writing each new and reply e-mails in Thunderbird, but I don't want to have to do this each time. I want to set-up the default font, size, and color for all new and reply e-mails. It already comes up with a default one, but I want to change it, but can't figure out how to do this. I'm sure it is quite simple, but I don't know how to do this. Thank you in advance for help.

    Tools > Options > Display > Formatting tab
    Default font: select font
    Select size : eg; 14
    Click on 'Advanced' button and set all the sizes to 14
    Select : 'allow messages to use other fonts'
    click on OK
    Click on 'Composition'
    Under the 'General' tab
    Suggest you set HTML font to 'Variable width' and Size : 'Medium'
    Select the 'Text colour' you would like to compose email using
    Select the 'Background colour' you would like to use when composing emails.
    click on OK to save all changes.
    This will set the display email list to the selected font.
    It will allow received emails to use the font the sender used.
    When you compose an email it will also use the same font settings.
    The message 'Display' settings in the above section also apply to messages that you compose. The settings are not sent, so they do not affect how your messages appear to recipients.
    The settings in the ''Composition' section can affect how messages are sent. If you make unusual choices, then people who receive messages from you might find them difficult or impossible to read. Hence, why I suggest you leave it as 'Variable width' and allow the 'Display' settings to set the default used for composing emails.

  • How To reply a mail with an attachment ??

    Guys, Help me..
    I was wondering, is there a way to reply a mail with an attachement??
    I am using Box.net to load the docs. But still searching a way to reply a mail with an attachment.

    Don't really know about Box.net, but certainly in iFiles, you just select the file and then 'send as email' and compose your message and send.

  • ICould prevents reply e-mails from sending in Outlook 2013

    iCloud add-in prevents reply e-mails from sending in Outlook 2013.  The Reply messages stay in Outbox. The Italic title returns to normal instantly. Any ideas to correct problem?

    Hi,
    Based on your description, users can move messages that don’t contain attachments to any other folders without any problem( not only subfolder of the Inbox ), and there is problem to move messages that contains attachment to whatever folders, right?
    Please check this issue in OWA.
    Please use the 'Move' operation from the context menu of the item to check this issue in Outlook.
    Please switch to a PC not joined your domain to check this issue.

  • Very difficult to send or reply yahoo mail.

    Very difficult to send or reply yahoo mail from iPhone and everything except mail works just fine,
    Sometimes when unable to send or reply, pop up on the screen "wrong username or password",
    Infact everything is correct, what happen with Yahoo ?
    Help please, it's been 3 days going on like this.

    Just to update....  On the iPhone, under yahoo account setup, there was a backup outgoing smtp at&t server listed, but not enabled.  I enabled the backup at&t outgoing server.  Now when the yahoo smtp server is unavailable the iPhone will default to the backup server.  Test of outgoing mail worked ok.

  • How do I get iphone to reply to mail using a particular "from" address?

    Hi all
    I'm having a problem getting my girlfriends iPhone to respond to mails the way she wants. Basically she has a website for her business and I have gone into the settings on 123.reg.co.uk where she bought the domain and had it forward emails from her site to her me.com address which she can then view on her iphone. The problem is she wants to reply to mails that have arrived via her website using the same mail address so people would see "from: [email protected]" in their inbox.
    Any ideas how I can do this?
    I had a look at aliases on the mobileme prefs but there are restrictions on what characters you can use so I have had to rule that out.
    Thanks
    Jonno

    You have to set up that email account on your iPhone for it to reply from that account. Unless she can set up the Poppyseedbakery email account there is no way for her replies to come from that. Have you thought about setting up an email account, for example [email protected] or something similar? Then you can set that up on your iPhone and reply from that.

  • Replying to mail puts outgoing message in outbox

    Both my wife and I (3g and 3Gs respectively) downloaded ios4 and since then we cannot reply to mail messages on the 3G network, though on WiFi it works OK. Here's a simple example - she sends me a message and it arrives on my iPhone. I go to reply and the error message is: Cannot Send Mail. A copy has been placed in your outbox. The recipient "%@" was rejected by the server because the user is unknown".
    In other words, her legitimate email address has been converted to symbols. This happens no matter who the sender is.
    Other points:
    1) I have tried removing the email account on the iPhone and re-entering it
    2) It happens only when we use our telecom's usual outgoing mail server (as we have been doing on our phones for years). It does not happen with MobileMe mail accounts.
    3) Our telecom say they have never come across the problem before
    Is this an ios4 issue? It's beginning to look like it, as it never occurred before we downloaded the update.

    Have been having similar problems with iPod touch and Yahoo mail after upgrading to IOS4. If I knew this was going to happen would never have upgraded. Didn't know enough to save shsh blobs piror to upgrade so looks like I'm stuck on 4 for now!! http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2526759&tstart=0

  • Can't write new e-mails or reply to mails.

    After my last update to iOs 6.1.2 I can't write new e-mails or reply to mails anymore because the new or reply toolbar with move, send or delete is gone!
    I can send directly from Photos or other apps, but not from Mail.

    Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
    Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • Replying to Mail & beachball

    I can't believe that even with a new MBP with 4gig memory I am getting the spinning beachball when replying to mail. There is only mail open at the time, so why oh why is this even thinking of happening.
    Thanks

    is the mac otherwise slow browsing the internet, downloading... or is this purely a sending issue in mail? i know users on these pages, or rather the online/networking pages of Leopard have reported speed issues what with Leopard having issues with certain browsers and certain isps.
    i have also read some users solved their "slow send" mail issues by adding the dns of their isp to system preferences>network, selecting the connection mode, and then clicking on "advanced" and choosing dns.
    then again, it might be the size of the email w/attachment? or maybe you have already checked that and the beach ball appears with any email you want to send or reply to. or maybe is it account specific, or have you already checked that and it happens with all your accounts if you have more than one.
    let me know

  • How do I make Mail automatically set the reciepient of an E-Mail as the replying E-Mail-Adress

    Hi!
    I have an @me.com iCloud E-Mail-Adress with 2 Aliases
    I'm using one of them for students of my tutorial at the university, so that they can contact me without knowing my actual email-adress.
    so when someone of them sends me a message to this tutorial-alias and a write an answer, i always have to set the replying email adress
    from my actual @me.com to the tutorial-alias.
    I often forget to do this, so in the replying email people see my actual one instead of the alias, answer on it again, and everybody starts using both.
    I want to prevent this, so ist there a way to automatically set the replying adress to the one the former email im replying on was sent to?
    Regards
    DaNylz

    Mail Preferences:
    It works with accounts; I've never tried it with aliases but you may be lucky. Presumably from what you say they already appear in the drop-down menu when composing.

  • Setting value in 'FROM' field while replying the mail

    Hi,
    I am working on one issue, In component CRMCMP_CCS_EML, while replying the email, i need to read the 'TO' field and on the basis of that i need to set the value in 'From' field. How can I recognize that this is a reply and not a new email. Also, could anyone please describe me in detail as i never work on email component before.
    Regards,
    Kamesh Bathla

    This issue has been resolved.
    I got the message mode by using
    message_mode = typed_context->mail->messagemode.
    got all the options for from address using
    lt_from_addresses[] = typed_context->mail->GT_DEFAULT_FROM_ADDRESSES[].
    got the original email address using
    lr_gdc ?= cl_crm_ui_data_context_srv=>get_instance( ).
    CALL METHOD lr_gdc->get_entity
    EXPORTING
    name = c_currinboxitem
    RECEIVING
    value = lr_inbox_item.
    CALL METHOD lr_inbox_item->get_property_as_value
      EXPORTING
        iv_attr_name = 'SOF_RCP_ADDR'
      IMPORTING
        ev_result    = lv_original_mail

  • Remove original message when replying in mail

    I don't want to include the text of messages received when I reply to them. Mail help says to adjust this you
    1. Choose Mail > Preferences and click Composing.
    2. Select the "Quote the text of the original message" checkbox.
    3. Select "Include selected text if any, otherwise include all."
    my problem is that when I go to Mail > Preferences there is no Composing option to click.

    In Tiger, when you go to Mail Preferences, there is a gray oval in the upper right hand corner of the Preferences window. When you click on it, it should reveal these other icons: General... Accounts... RSS... Junk Mail... Fonts & Colors... Viewing... Composing... Rules, if they are not currently visible.
    In Leopard, when you go to Mail Preferences, if these other icons are not visible to you, go under View on the menubar and select "Show Toolbar"

  • Email replies from iPhone not shown as replied in Mail with Mavericks.

    I'm on a Mac Pro, MBP, and iPhone 5.  All using current versions of Mavericks and iOS 7.  If I send an emil form my iPhone, it shows up in my sent Mail on my computers, but If I reply to an email, I don't get the 'Replied" icon next to the message in Mail.  Any thoughts?

    Did you ever resolve this? I'm having something similar occurring. Mail sent from my iMac, doesn't show up on my iPhone, replied mail on the iMac doesn't show up on the iPhone either. I have the "replied" arrow symbol on the iPhone but that message doesn't appear.
    I updated my iPhone to the 4.0 version and have had battery drain and antenna loss since doing it. So if you haven't updated, I wouldn't unless you have too.

  • Setting the From Address for Reply in Mail

    I am having trouble setting the default “From” address for replies in Mail. When I click on “Reply” the new window opens with a default mail address I do not wish to use. This can be changes by going into the drop down box and setting a different one. This is time consuming and it is easy to send from an inappropriate address.
    “Help” menu says that the default address ( top one in the drop down box) can be changed and gives these instructions:
    Set the From address
    Your messages are sent from the account of the currently selected mailbox. If you have multiple email accounts, you can specify a different account to use for sending all messages, or select an account just for the message you’re writing.
    To specify the account to use for sending all messages, choose Mail > Preferences, click Composing, and then choose an account from the “Send new messages from” pop-up menu.
    To specify an account just for the message you’re writing, click the From pop-up menu, and then choose an email address.
To change the order in which addresses are listed in the pop-up menu, reorder the addresses in the “Email address” field in the Account Information pane of Mail account preferences.
    When I open the Mail Account Preferences and go to Account Information there is no list of addresses in the “Email address” just the one for the particular account highlighted in the left column eg. “[email protected]” or “[email protected]” .
    I tried to move the order of the accounts in the left hand box but nothing wants to move. Clicking and holding to push one account over another seems not to work.
    Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
    NB: This is about "Reply". Default for "New Message" is setting fine.

    i found out how to do this finally!
    1) set up google gmail account to forward your emails to (from the [email protected])
    2) go to your gmail account
    3) go to settings (cog in right hand corner)
    4) go to 'accounts and import'
    5) go to 'send mail as'
    6) click 'Add another email address you own' - add your [email protected] address
    7) google will send a verification email with code to that email address.
    8) enter code
    9) go back to gmail account  >'send mail as' and select 'make default'
    10) close mac 'mail' program and reopen it.
    as long as you have gmail account selected as the primary account in MAIL - mail will now come throught as being sent from that  [email protected] address!!
