Report always shows default variant
Hello,
I've got a report where we can choose a variant in the selection screen.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK SEL2 WITH FRAME TITLE TEXT-002.
PARAMETERS p_layout TYPE slis_vari.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK SEL2.
I've got it setup so that when the user runs the report, the field p_layout is filled with his default variant or if he has none it's empty.
My problem is when the field is empty the result ALV is always shown with the default variant.
For example:
User has 2 variants - SAV1 and SAV2 (default).
User enters selection screen and p_layout is filled with SAV2.
Scenario 1:
User presses F8 and the ALV is shown with the variant SAV2
Scenario 2:
User changes p_layout to SAV1 and presses F8. ALV is shown with SAV1 variant
Scenario 3:
User emptys p_layout (p_layout IS INITIAL), presses F8 and ALV is shown with SAV2 variant - the default one
What can I do so that when p_layout IS INITIAL the ALV shows all the columns?
This is how I define the layout:
gr_layout = gr_alv->get_layout( ).
MOVE sy-repid TO gs_layout_key-report.
gr_layout->set_key( gs_layout_key ).
gr_layout->set_save_restriction( if_salv_c_layout=>restrict_none ).
gr_layout->set_default( 'X' ).
gr_layout->set_initial_layout( p_layout ).
F4 help for p_layout:
ls_layout_key-report = sy-repid.
ls_layout_info = cl_salv_layout_service=>f4_layouts( ls_layout_key ).
p_layout = ls_layout_info-layout.
Initialization of p_layout:
gs_variant-report = sy-repid.
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET'
EXPORTING
I_SAVE = 'A'
CHANGING
CS_VARIANT = gs_variant
EXCEPTIONS
WRONG_INPUT = 1
NOT_FOUND = 2
PROGRAM_ERROR = 3
OTHERS = 4.
IF sy-subrc = 2 OR sy-subrc = 0.
p_layout = gs_variant-variant.
ELSE.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
the sy-subrc = 2 is there to prevent error if user has no layouts => p_layout stays empty
Thank you in advance!
Thank you Thanga Prakash for your help, it lead me to the an awnser.
Even after I cleared the p_layout I still had the same issue but after reviewing the code once more I deleted the following line
gr_layout->set_default( 'X' ).
With this, if no layout was specified (p_layout IS INITIAL) the default variant was always called.

Reports only showing up in local admin console?
Ok, so I am stuck. I have installed SCCM 2012 without issue and installed the Reporting Services point using the same system as the SRS server. Everyhting at first appeared to be great. Using the local console on the server all the reports show up and run
fine.
However, when I use a console on a remote workstation (same login as server) everything works fine except reports, the reports always show up as "No Items Found." I can use the same credentials and browse to the report server and run reports through IE all
day long, but nothing I have tried can get them to show up in the console on the remote workstation. This client has quite a few people who will need to access reports this way, has anyone else seen anything like this?
Thanks,
Karl Koehler, mcitp, mct
P.S. I teach the MOC SCCM 2012 classes, the reports frequently do not show in the local console and a reboot fixes it. So this one really has me stumped.Thanks for the replies, to answer your questions:
There is nothing special about the dB or SRS setup, everything is set to the default.
The systems running the remote consoles are in the domain, and have tried it on systems with UAC turned off completely.
I am able to access the reports through the reporting website without issue, but I haven't added the certificate to the clients (they do not have an internal CA and so it's using the self-signed.)
Do we think the console only uses HTTPS? Because that could be the issue. I'll add the cert and see what happnes and post back. -
Is there a way to default the monthly calendar display
so that the current day always shows on top? ie, I want to always be able to see what's in the future 3-4 weeks, not what's in the past 3-4 weeks. The default monthly display is archaic--only allows you to see through the last day of the month. Suddenly today
is Oct. 30th, and I have a ton of projects lined up in November, but because I haven't been scrolling down every day, I haven't been aware of them every day. I realize there are other tools in Microsoft to help me stay on task, such as reminders and such,
but it would be helpful if I could always have the current day display on top of the monthly view so I can quickly scan what's coming up in the next few weeks.Thank you!
Right, I already have it in Month view. My question is a little more specific--I'd like for the current day to always display at the top. For example, today is Oct. 31st, so the current day is at the bottom of the calendar since it is the last day of the month.
I can view everything in October that I've already completed. What I can't see are the future weeks because we haven't hit November yet. I'd like for the current day to always display at the top of my calendar so I can always see what's coming in the following
three - four weeks (whether they're a part of that month or not). I've been to other forums trying to find the answer, and have come across the same exact question from frustrated users--but there seemed to be no solution. So I'm posing the question myself
in this forum. Do you know if this is possible? What I found from other forums is that Outlook defaults to a physical 'desk' type calendar format--so just as I'd use a paper calendar at my desk, I wouldn't be able to see the following weeks unless I either
flip the page to that month or I come to the first day of the next month, thereby tearing the the old month off and now only able to see the current month. That format is just so...paper...and archaic! Essentially I want the calendars to loop so it doesn't
even really matter what month it is--I just always want to see what lies ahead without having to scroll down. With our being in the Technology Age, I'd assume this is a logical expectation, but we may be stuck with the replica version of the paper-desk-calendar
format until Outlook programmers add this Technology Age feature in newer versions.
See, this month kind of messed me up because I have so many projects for November that start tomorrow and next week, but I haven't seen them until this week. I would have been better quipped--at least expecting them--had I been able to see all of those projects
since last week or the week prior.
If there is no solution to this answer, would you know how I can contact Outlook to provide feedback? I'm guessing a newer version is on its way...
Thanks again in advance! -
Using transactio code to execute a report does not show default value
Hi all ,
I have given a default value of a field on my selection-screen by initialization in a hr report .
I am using PNP database and default selction-screen in hr report category .
While the report is working fine while executing directly , It is not showing default value when executed through a transaction code .
Can any body tell why it is so ?
Thanks & regards
SunDid you create the transaction as a report transaction?

Setting Default Variant for Report Trans
Hi All,
Is there a way to set a default Variant to a reporting transaction? for example for ME2N how do I set a default Variant to be imported to the selection screen automatically once the report transaction is called?
This is useful if the user uses the same variant all the time.
Thanks in advance!Pls try the below example
I give you one example,
Enter t-code ME2N, Then click on Dynamic field selection button.
Then double click on created by field enter enter any user id in it.
Then click on save button.After click on this screen your can see one other screen for variant.
Here you have to assign variant name and meaning. You can also change field status for report with help of this screen.
Before click on save button, tick on protect check box button and then click on save.
Then exit from transaction and enter ME2N.
Click on Get variant button. Here you can see list of variant, select your variant and get report as per your requirement.

The checkboxs p_all(non-schedule line) , p_group(group schedule line items) are working in my above alv report and showing result but unfortunately when p_rental is checked it dosent give me result , it says no data selected. This when checked has to show result based on a different set of selections as I have done, but its not shwoing me the result .

Project Centre - Active Issues and Active Risk columns always show 0
Hello,
We have created a number of Project Centre views to which we have added the "Active Risks" and "Active Issues" columns against projects. No matter how many active issues or risks a project has, these columns are always showing 0 for each
and every project.
The reminders web-part on the PWA home page, and the Issues and Risks page (/PWA/IssuesAndRisks.aspx) correctly show these counts for a user, but Project Centre does not show the values correctly for projects.
We have not changed the values in the "Status" column of either list - they're still the default "(1) Active", "(2) Postponed" and "(3) Closed".
All issues and risks are correctly promoted to the reporting database on publish or when a list item is added/updated/deleted etc.
Our environment was upgraded from Project Server 2010 to Project Server 2013 and we're running service pack 1.
If not now, when?Hello,
There fields don't actually work, if you want to see the active risks or active issues per projects in a summary row, create a report from the Reporting schema in the Project Web App database.

Report Viewer shows incorrect data when viewing pages from last to first
Post Author: Fmorales
CA Forum: .NET
Hello.
I've made a huge report with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005, and sometimes the Report Viewer show data with errors.
If I see all pages of my report in order, 1 first, then 2nd, 3, 4... until the last one.... The report is always correct.
If I see all pages in reverse order, 1 first (shown by default), then last one, then last one-1.... until 2nd.. All years show incorrect, except first one...
In an outer section, for every year, there is a final row which shows summarize calculated data. The error consists in that every value of the row is 0.
It seems that Crystal Report calculates while showing, that's good.. but... Why does it ignore the data before when I see directly the last page?? It forces me to see all pages one by one in ascendant order to ensure data is correct.. I must fix that error.
The way I calculate data in the problematic summarize row is a bit complicated, but I'll try... Let's focus in one only column (the other ones are similar). The summarize value is a formula which simply show a global value :
WhilePrintingRecords;
CurrencyVar margenActual;
which is being increasing or decreasing along the group:
WhilePrintingRecords;
CurrencyVar actual:=actual+CurrentFieldValue;
if {PresupPeriodifMesesAux_DS.TIPO} = 'PAGOS' then CurrencyVar margenActual:=margenActual-CurrentFieldValueelse CurrencyVar margenActual:=margenActual+CurrentFieldValue;
DefaultAttribute
It is placed in the backgrond property of a CrossTab cell in a hidden pre-section... Well.. I know it's a bit complicated, but I have to do that way because it was the only trick I found to make a summarize file before printing data summarized (that's why the line "CurrencyVar actual:=actual+CurrentFieldValue;" appeared in formula). So I also wanted to use this formula to acummulate "margenActual".
In the inner section I reset the actual value (this value always go fine):
WhilePrintingRecords;
CurrencyVar actual:=0;
Before end of year I reset the margenActual value:
WhilePrintingRecords;
CurrencyVar margenActual:=0;
I've tried multiple combinations (using WhileReadingRecords instead WhilePrintingRecords) but data is incorrect or I cannot get rid of visualization page's problem....
Any idea?
Thanks a lotquote:

So remove that tag, create an instance variable of the same

companies = XML(event.result);
trace(companies.toXMLString()); to look at your xml
var xlCompanies:XMLList = xmlCompanies..company; //all such
expressions return XMLList, never XML
trace(xmlCompanies.length()); //

Ok so the ID of the mxXML was being interpreted as an E4X
variable at compile time?
I tried changing the name of the ID of the HTTPService call
from "marketData" to "MDATA" and assigning the variable marketData
to the result of the HTTPService query, which if I understand you
correctly should basically make everything work as it was before,
but it seems to be a problem.
when I try to run it puts an exclamation point on this line
<toolbox:TreeMap id="treeMap" width="1200" height="800"
dataProvider="{marketData}"
labelField="@cname" weightField="@amount"
colorFunction="{itemToColor}"
toolTipFunction="{itemToToolTip}"/>
That code refers to a SWC file. Apparently it wants
marketData to be a data provider. If I change the dataProvider
reference above to "MDATA" (the ID of the HTTPService) the App
compiles, but I get two errors at runtime:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
a null object reference.
ReferenceError: Error #1081: Property @age1 not found on
mx.rpc.http.mxml.HTTPService and there is no default value.
What should I change this reference to? It won't compile if I
use the variable I made for the e4x results and it is reading
gibberish if I have it read directly from the
HTTPService....? -
Show Default Image when actual Image is not available
Hi,
The Customer is using BI Publisher to generate a Report with the Inventory Item Details. This report also shows an Image of the Item. These Image files are stored in a different server.
We are able to dynamically show the Image based on the Item Numbers using the URL{} tag.
We are facing an issue when there is an Item when there exists an Item with no corresponding Image File. The PDF is generated without any image. In such cases, the requirement is need to display a Default Image showing "NO IMAGE".
During XML Extraction, we do not know whether the Image file is available in the server.
How do we handle this specific requirement.
Any assistance is highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Balachander.Having raised a service request with Oracle, it would seem that this is not possible -
"Unfortunately, In the BIP core, there is no functionality to test that a file ( containing an image ) exists or not ."
The problem I have is that the URL referencing the image is concatenated and includes the XML item for a reference number. That reference number, and therefore the XML item, is always available but the image that corresponds to it is not - so I can't test for a null or false return because BI Publisher does not recognise the concatenated string of the url as having a returned value.
This would be a problem if the layout options in Word were more flexible (better) - being able to add an image to the background of a table or cell would have solved my problem but, sadly, that is not possible in the version of Word I'm using (2003). I'm not sure whether it's possible in newer versions though? -
ARD report always "Waiting/Generating Report" WHY?
I am getting way to many systems that are failing to show anything in the ARD Reports function. New systems most often just show "Waiting" forever or they may go to "Generating Report" and sit there for more than a day.and never do provide a report. Other systems will show a report date of anything from several days to several months ago. These are almost all (250 or so) assorted iMAcs, MacBookPros, Minis, and MacPros running 10.8.4 but a few 10.7 and even 10.6 systems exhibit the same behavior. The ARD client is set for full control including reports. Assorted times for gathering the reports show no difference in response. These times may range from the default midnight to 1:00 PM so systems may be on or off line for all seven days a week. The times were set either when the systems were first entered into ARD. Some were changed using the "Get Info" Reporting tab but going either way makes no difference.
Because of the number of systems, I am extremely reluctant to do a complete uninstall, including the database files, and reinstall for fear of not having the info even come back on systems that I do have old but still existing info on.
I know that this was a problem a number of years ago but since Client 3.6.2 (and using Admin 3.6.1) this problem has grown substantialy worse. Anyone know what the cure is?
What I might do is put the ARD Admin on a different, and completly clean, system to see if reports can be generated there. If I can do that I will update this entry to show the results.Hi,

Hi,
Is there a way to assign a variant to a user or group of users in a transaction such as IH08? I refer to those selected by the 'Get variant...' button on the initial screen before the report is run.
The customer would always like the report to exclude deleted vehicles, but does not want to have to select a variant every time they run the transaction.
Thanks,
RichardHi,
Thought I'd report back to help anyone else with this query.
Basically I found this could be achieved on a per user basis, by creating a default variant. This is done by naming the variant U_XXXXXX where XXXXXX = User ID. When the specified user runs the transaction the saved variant will always be applied.
I believe you can also create a standard system wide variant by using the naming convention SAP_TCODE_XXXX where XXXX is the transaction code, but I have not tested this.
Thanks,
Richard. -

Cisco Jabber for Windows always shows "Away"
Cisco Jabber for Windows (9.0.1, CUPS 8.6.4, UCM 8.6.2, Exchange 2010) always shows status as "Away" for one user. Others seem to be working correctly showing "one the phone", "in a meeting", etc. Tried reinstalling client with no change. If you manually change to "Available", it changes right back to "Away". Anyone have an idea where to look (registry, logs, etc.)?
I am seeing the same problem. I haven't tried a different user to login on the same machine, but I did try closing my client on my primary machine (exited) and then logged in on a different computer with a fresh Jabber for Windows install.
I am running Jabber for Windows Version 9.0.2 Build 9453 on windows 7 64bit primarily, and Windows XP as the second test. Running CUPS 8.6.4 in HA over WAN cluster mode with CUCM 7.1.5 and Unity Connection 8.5.1 ES 16.
Phone presence information does still flow through when I pick up my phone hand set my status changes from Away to On a Call.
When I check the presence diagnostic test for my user, it also reports that I am away. -
