Report executing

Hi all,
i developed a report for CO for execution of price variance difference for production order, but in the standard sap, the t.code SQVI is taking mininum 15 Min to execute the same, this dev. report taking more than 50 Min.
can anybody justify this?
Raghav

is this depends on server or our tables to took time?

  • Report execute time nd how many records will be returned before hitting the "run" option?

    Post Author: Prasad15
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    Is there any way to know how long the report executes and how many records will be returned before hitting the "run" option?
    Regards
    Prasad

    To know if the report is going to return more than 10,000 records, you first have to run the query with a 'select count(1) from ... where ...' (with the same from and where clauses as you normal query). Since this takes about the same time as runnng your report, I wonder if you really gain anything (although formatting may take some time too).
    You may simplify the select count(1) query by omitting all the lookup tables that are only needed for formatting. That way your query may run a lot faster. You can put this in your after parameter form trigger.

  • Relinking Forms and Reports executables

    Hello All,
    I am relinking forms and reports, using below commands, as part of Java 1.7 downgrade.
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32
    $ make -f ins_forms.mk sharedlib install
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32
    $ make -f ins_reports.mk install
    What i found is, the timestamp of the files under these directories($ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32  and  $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32) is not that of today rather it's old timestamp. How to make sure that I have completed this task(relinking forms and reports executables) successfully?
    Thanks,

    Do you get any "Fatal Error" Or "Error Code" messages at the end of the log file?

  • Issue in Foreground Report executing as background

    I have developed a Report in ABAP which has a selection screen and 2 radiobuttons
    Foreground
    Background
    The report basically reads a TXT file from Desktop and calls a standard BAPI.
    In foreground, I have no issues i.e. I browse the call from desktop and call GUI_UPLOAD and so on
    However, in background, I am confused how to proceed??
    Please note: Report is still running in foreground mode i.e. i am browsing the file. Its just that i have selected background Radiobutton
    Can anyone tell me how to proceed i.e. to execute in background.
    Do I need to submit the same program via JOB_OPEN JOB_CLOSE in background and then exit??
    Please advice

    Hi Razdan,
    If want to schedule the background job through the program, then you can try method explained in below links. Here you might have to create a separate program to submit.
       https://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPSUBMIT_VIA_JOB.htm
       http://scn.sap.com/thread/590077
      Another approach would be like below
    Add an additional field apart from the radio button, say “ip_file” in the selection screen. This you can show while selecting the radio button “background”
    Suppose if you have updated the file in app. Server(AL11 ) , in a location , say ( “home/myfile/test.txt” ) .
    Save a variant with the radio button “background” selected and input field ip_file value as   “home/myfile/test.txt”.
    Now from the SM36 you can schedule the background job to run the report with the same variant.
    Please note that , here you need to upload the file separately to app. Server using , tcode - CG3Z or any other FM. And in the program you can use open dataset to access the file in the app. Server.

  • FORMS AND REPORTS EXECUTABLES IN DATABASE

    I HAVE MY ORACLE 7.3.4 DATABASE IN SUN SOLARIS AND MY USERS IN
    WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000, I ALSO HAVE DE SOURCE OF MY FORMS 5.0 AND
    REPORTS 3.0 OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE, BUT I DON'T KNOW A WAY TO
    STORE THE EXECUTABLES OF THIS OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE TO, DOES
    ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO?

    When u store the .fmb file in the database u r actually storing
    the Definition of the Form only. Not the fmb file. So there is
    no separate storing of .fmb and .fmx.
    Oracle stores these form definitions in database tables. same
    applies to reports also.
    Someone correct me if I am wrong.
    Hope this helps.

  • Reports executing very slow

    Hi,
    I have made a Z Report "Daily Distach Statement" . It is working perfect and  show result with in 20-25 seconds. but when this report is executed by 5-6 users in same time then its take more than 600 seconds. So what is the reason behind this.What should i do in my code ? if anyboady has solution pls reply me.
    thanks and regards
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
    Check whether the report is updating any database table. Seems that when one user executes the report..he puts a lock on a particular table & hence others have to wait untill the lock is release.
    Check transaction SM12 while the reports are executed. It will give a list of tables which are locked.
    Best regards,

    Are you running publisher standalone or under EBS?
    Either way we do not compile the report definitions, to make them available to users you just deploy to the server.

  • Safari 3.2.1 on Leopard single call to cause Oracle report execute twice

    We have a web application that uses javascripts window.open(url) to call an Oracle rdf report and displays report result in pdf format. For unknown reason, the Oracle report got executed twice when only called once from Safari. It only happens in Safari 3.2.1 on Leopard, not in Safari on Tiger. Can you please shed some lights on how Safari works in this matter? Thank you very much, Steve

    Hi Steve,
    It's going to be impossible for anyone to debug with such limited information
    You're more likely to get some JavaScript experts chipping in if you can post some good examples of the code to demonstrate the problematic parts.
    Have you tried running the same code in Firefox with the Firebug extension to confirm the logic is functioning correctly? It's possible that Firebug might indicate where things are going wrong but for whatever reason the bug isn't exposed in Firefox.

  • Statspack report, execute to parse %

    Hi guys,
    I am finding the Execute to Parse ratio very low in a database. What is the desired percentage for this. And its significance.
    Instance Efficiency Percentages (Target 100%)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Buffer Nowait %: 100.00 Redo NoWait %: 99.99
    Buffer Hit %: 99.92 In-memory Sort %: 99.95
    Library Hit %: 97.68 Soft Parse %: 95.13
    Execute to Parse %: 9.38 Latch Hit %: 99.99
    Parse CPU to Parse Elapsd %: 95.38 % Non-Parse CPU: 96.90
    Thanks
    KHAL
    What is the desired percentage for this ?Depends a lot on your database usage. For an OLTP database, this should be generally speaking much higher. For a datawarehouse, it is less important.
    But what really matters is the general database performance evaluated by its users: it is OK or slow or very slow ?
  • Report executing in background
    Hi All,
    I am able to run the report in background. But the problem is i am not able to see the output in the desired way.
    I have set the back ground job in se38 transaction. then i am going to SM37 and selecting the job and going to spool but i am not able to see the output.
    Please let me know the processing of seeing the output, or do we need to write any code for that. If we need to write a code to display the output please send the code.
    Thanks,
    Govind
    Hi,
    You don't have to write any code for this.
    Just ensure that you run the background job immediately.
    Please select all the check boxes in SM37 to see the scheduled job.
    The output might take some time as program can run for sometime.
    You can see the output in the spool.Check the details in Job Log.
    Hope this helps..
  • 11.1.2- Need to find out what reports are being executed by a user
    Hi,
    We have financial reports executed from workspace.In essbase session , only the user id is displayed and the Request type- mdxreport is displayed. We also tried searching the log for Financial report didnt find anything relevant.
    Is there a way to find out what reports are being executed by the user.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Saumya
    STAT will give you the information for a limited period of time and is limited to the server which you are logged onto yourself. Beyond 24 hours it is of even less use even if you change the selection screen values.
    If you want it for a period way back into the past, then you need to use ST03N.
    There are at least 2 dependencies and 1 confusion:
    1 dependency) The length of period is determined by the size (length) of the file. You can change this in ST03N (default 50MB) via the menu settings.
    2 dependency) The stat collector jobs need to be scheduled to write the information to ST03N (once per hour is a legal requirement in some non-banana republic countries).
    1 confusion) There is an obscure function which converts a report submit to a transaction name (there is not much difference anyway) and an even more obsure one which filters what ST03N will record and therefore whether you can read it. You can (un)filter these things away if you search the SAP Marketplace for the term "MONI".
    What is of particular value from this control is that you can even detect a submission of an abap which only existed temporarily.
    Also note that having this information is potentially very powerfull with respect to the users (some of them are human too), so you should expose and use it responsibly.
    You should also ensure that only responsible users / auditors have access to S_TOOLS_EX.
