FORMS AND REPORTS EXECUTABLES IN DATABASE
I HAVE MY ORACLE 7.3.4 DATABASE IN SUN SOLARIS AND MY USERS IN
WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000, I ALSO HAVE DE SOURCE OF MY FORMS 5.0 AND
REPORTS 3.0 OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE, BUT I DON'T KNOW A WAY TO
STORE THE EXECUTABLES OF THIS OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE TO, DOES
ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO?
When u store the .fmb file in the database u r actually storing
the Definition of the Form only. Not the fmb file. So there is
no separate storing of .fmb and .fmx.
Oracle stores these form definitions in database tables. same
applies to reports also.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Hope this helps.

Can we store forms and reports in 10g database in any format
Hi,
Why do you want to store the forms and reports in database? Do you mean something like SCM repository for versioning?
I don't find any use in storing the forms and reports in database.

Relinking Forms and Reports executables
Hello All,
I am relinking forms and reports, using below commands, as part of Java 1.7 downgrade.
cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32
$ make -f ins_forms.mk sharedlib install
cd $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32
$ make -f ins_reports.mk install
What i found is, the timestamp of the files under these directories($ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32 and $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32) is not that of today rather it's old timestamp. How to make sure that I have completed this task(relinking forms and reports executables) successfully?
Thanks,

How do I store oracle forms and reports in the database
Hi !!
Is there a way I can store the forms and reports runtime in the
oracle database ??
We are working on forms 5.0, reports 3.0
oracle 8.0.5.0.0 on HP-Unix
Can someone guide me step by step from storing the forms to
accessing it back on the desktop.
Thanks in advance,
Shobhit Kumar
nullYou need SMB compatible names.. for both TC and if you use wireless then wireless.. short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Go to the disk file sharing page.. turn on guest account.. read and write access.
Give it the right workgroup .. usually WORKGROUP
Load bonjour for windows onto the windows machine.. that should be included with the airport utility for windows. -
Upgrade of Oracle forms and reports on 6i to Oracle 11g
Dear All,
I wish to know the level of support for running Oracle 6i forms and reports over Oracle Database 10.2.0.5. Is this currently supported by Oracle ? If yes, is there any supporting document?
Secondly, how can I make my forms and reports running on Oracle 6i to Oracle 11g ? Is Oracle 6i supported on Oracle 11g also ? Can I run my forms/reports by just upgrading the database to 11.2g and execute them?
Looking forward to your earliest response on the subject
Thank you
Best RegardsHi,
The support for 6i Version is discontinued. And will be no longer supported. Straight Answer.
And to answer your Second question,
I understand you have Form6i in client/server installation and looking to upgrade the database to 11g version.
If this is right, most of the pl/sql code will work fine against the 11g database and those bits of pl/sql which uses the Forms6i might not compile but it will be easy to convert or migrate using Forms Migration Assistant.
hope this will little help. -
I need to update my knowlege about form and reports.
I was working a couple years ago in Forms and Reports 6i. Later I was working in another enviroment until learn my english. Now, I will like to know. What is the last version of Forms ? Hi,
Install Oracle Developer Suite 10g Release 2. It has forms and reports builder which are Integrated Development Environments(IDE) for forms and reports repectively.
Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (Contains Forms and Reports 10.1.2) is a Server and is used for deploying your forms and reports.
For database you can install Oracle 10g database Express edition.

How to store forms and reports in database
Hi friends,
How to store the forms and reports in database?
when i save a form in database it doesnt prompt with any message
and when i try to retrieve from the list it prompts me with a

can anyone suggest me the methods of storing the forms in the
database and retriving from it.

nullI believe this will help you
To store forms & Reports in Database you need to run some
scripts which are shipped with Oracle
To install the SQL scripts:
Start the Oracle Installer and select Custom Installation or
Removal from the Oracle Developer Installation Options dialog
box.
Select Oracle Developer Database Tables from the Available
Products list.
Click Install.
Installing these scripts creates a Start menu item called Oracle
Developer R6.0 Admin and the associated submenu items Oracle
Developer Build, Oracle Developer Drop, Oracle Developer Grant,
and Oracle Developer Revoke. These menu items, when selected,
run a script or a series of scripts to perform database
administration tasks.
Note: I tried to store forms in the database by creating tables
but in forms fmb will store in database & fmx will store on
clients machine so you have to install fmx on all client machines
I tried to store fmx in database but..................!
If any body knows how to store FMX in database let me know.

How to install Oracle Form and Report 6i on existing database
Hi all please help me,
My system is rhel 3 (update 6). My question is how can i install Oracle form and report 6i on my machine, which is already have database 10g R2? I known i have to create two separate ORACLE_HOME. Since i already had database 10g R2, can i just go head install Oracle form and report 6i on separate ORACLE_HOME? or i need to remove database 10g R2 first, and then install Oracle form and report 6i
Thanks in advances<< Why Forms/Reports 6i and not something later, BTW? >>
Presumably he has to support a client/server application. They haven't all disappeared overnight, despite what Oracle tell everyone. -
Installation : Application Server 10g forms and reports services
Can anyone tell me if the infrastructure database is required when doing the forms and reports services only install to get the Distributed Configuration Management functionallity to work. There is no indication in the installation documentation that this is a requirement, in fact it seems that it is not required at all. I am having to guide a service provider through an install remotely and have to give them alot of information before they will proceed.
Hi Sandeep,
Hope you will be fine.
Actually I have installed Oracle DB10gR2+RHAS3 on one machine and Oracle AS10gR2 Forms and Reports Services+RHAS3 on another machine.
1). I can manually start the database EM,isqlplus manaually after OS reboots using commands and they are working fine but donot know how to start all these automatically when the OS starts.
2). I cannot start the IAS Forms and Reports Services neither manually nor automatic. even when my home directory was /BIN, i executed the command
"emctl start iasconsole" it returns an error Like "BASH.........etc"
meaing Linux does not recognize emctl while it is still existing in ORACLE_HOME/BIN directory.
I want both (DB and AS) working fine automatically while OS starts.
Looking Forward.

Whats are the Forms and Reports in QM?and what is differece betwwen them?
whats are the Forms and Reports in QM?and what is differece betwwen them?
Hi,
1. Forms are like templates.Forms define the text format and page layout of documents, which can be formatted (in accordance with the definitions) for display on the screen or for output to a printer.
2. Executable program that allows users to read and evaluate data in the database.
You can either display the output of a report on the screen or send it to a printer. You can also save it, so that it can be displayed as often as you like. It is important to be able to do this, because reading large volumes of original data can impair performance.
Examples of reports are ABAP reports, queries, and drilldown reports.
In short, forms are only templates and reports will retrive the data from system in certain format.

HELP: Forms and Report Session Context Problem
Hi:
I use CONTEXT in our applications. Every time there's a query to
any of the applications tables it's added a predicate in WHERE
clause to restrict access to the data that belongs to different
people!
The context is set when the user LOGIN into applications (NOT
DATABASE) using our login system. Each user that login's in
applications use one user that is always the same (X_USER)
connecting to database. Each session created after our login
system validate user creates a CONTEXT in session and that
context is used to restrict access in tables with the predicate!
Our problem is... Calling reports form forms on WEB create
another session with the user X_USER and when create's that
session the CONTEXT parameters are not SET, so i can SELECT data
from any table!
Is there a way to execute in reports our PROCEDURE that set
context of the session?
Can the reports use the same session of the forms ?
Any solution?
Thankx in advance,
RicardoNo, Forms and Reports use different sessions. What you can do is
to add a parameter to the report that contains the context. And
use the Before Parameter Form trigger to set the appropriate
action.
I used to set a role to the report user this way, but you can
adapt it to your particular needs. -
