Report in backgound with submit  instruction

Hello,
I have a program that submits reports depending the choise of the user,
practically it play the role of a selector, the others produce a printing.
If this program is executed in background I don't find the printing in the spool;
I've tried to use the instruction SUBMIT rep ... TO SAP-SPOOL, but it doesn't
work.
I  Thank you in advance.                                                  Paolo

  • Buttons in Reports OR Link with Submit

    Hi,
    I have a simple Report. I want a column with a X sign to delete a single row. As far as I understand, there is a form around every report called "wwv_flow". I can not submit the page via URL. It is not entering the Page Processing Section. I tried this:
    select
    '<img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#delete.gif" border="0" alt="Delete the file">' "delete", w.id,
    w.filename,
    s.subject
    from wwv_flow_files w , file_subjects s
    where w.name = s.name
    Is there a way to do this, or is there a way to have buttons rendered in reports for submiting and processing single rows?
    Regards, Juergen

    Juergen,
    There are two ways I can suggest you implement this:
    1) Make the delete link go to another page in your application which acts as a delete confirmation page. If you pass along the primary key of the row in question, you can create a process there to make the delete happen.
    2) Similar to what you are trying to do, but in stead of trying to emulate a submit or POST, simply loop back to the same page that the report is on. The key here is to use the f?p URL syntax to set the REQUEST value, which can be inspected in a condition on a process. So, you'll have a before header process on the report page, which deletes a row based on a primary key set in P1_ID and this process is conditional on the value of REQUEST being equal to DELETE.

  • Select list with submit issue when they are referred in report region query

    I have a page with a reporting region. Same region also has 3 different list items and depending on the value selected in each item, the report is refreshed. All the 3 list items are "Select list submit with submit"
    Out of 3 items, 2 (say item2 and item3) are populated through dynamic LOV using the value in item1.
    Additionally, when I select a default "ALL" value in in item1, I ignore values in item2 and item3.
    With this background, I am a following issue:
    1. I select a value other than Default value in item1 which filters the report.
    2. Then I select some value in item2 which further shrinks the reports.
    3. Now if I go back to item1 and select the default "All" value, the report is not refreshed with the new values of item1, item2 and item3. But it still shows the report based on value of item2 that I selected in step2.
    How do I set the value of item2/item3 to null if value of item1 is default which is "All"
    Any word of advise will be a great help!
    Thanks,
    Girish

    Hi,
    Make two computations each with the computation text NULL; or
    Make one process with code like:
    BEGIN
    :P1_ITEM2 := NULL;
    :P1_ITEM3 := NULL;
    END;With the condition "Value of Item in Expression 1 = Expression 2"
    Expression 1: P1_ITEM1
    Expression 2: ALL
    (or whatever the return value of ALL is...remember that this is case sensitive)

  • Select list with submit using on a dynamic report

    Hi! I'd like to know how can I create a Select list with Submit using the HTMLDB_ITEM API.
    I know there's an API named HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV(), but I'd like to know how can I reproduce in there the submit everytime the user changes a value.
    Thanks!

    Hi! I've discovered there's a parameter on this function that allows me to include a javascript like the example below:
    select HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV(3, ctr_id,'LOV_COUNTRIES','onChange=javascript:doSubmit()','NO)
    from XXXX;
    The thing is I don't know how exactly this javascript:doSubmit() works, because it works different than creating a select list with submit item.
    If I create on a page a simple "select list with submit" item, and if I run the page, after changing the value of the select list it refreshes the page but it doesn't erase the values inserted on the other items. But if I have this HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_LOV function, after changing the value of the select list it refreshes the page but it erase the values inserted on the other items and recovers the old values..
    I really need your help on this.
    Thanks in advance :-)

    Shellie Bricker

    Your code seems to be implementing metalink note 139546.1 - Using Reports parameter forms with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT on the web.
    For what I can see, the P_ACTION parameter should end in ?...
    i.e.
    P_ACTION=http://<hostname.domain:port>/reports/rwservlet?'
    set_report_object_property (
    repid,
    report_other,
    'paramform=yes P_USER_CONNECT='
    || vc_connect
    || ' P_SERVERNAME='
    || v_reportserv
    || ' P_ACTION='
    || v_report_url
    || '/reports/rwservlet?'
    );If this does not fix your problem, then to troubleshoot further you would have to post the code in your Before Parameter Form trigger of your report.
    Hope this helps,
    UPDATE:
    If the above does not fix your problem, my guess is that report name is not being generated in the hidden runtime values build by the code in the Before Parameter Form trigger.
    i.e.
    http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?report=&destype=cache&desformat=PDF
    The above code will throw error REP-52005: The specified key report does not exist in key map file.

  • Radio Group with submit is clearing page in IE But not in Firefox

    I have an incompatibility issues in an app which works correctly in Firefox but does not work in Internet Explorer for myself and other users. I have an item (Yes or No) set as a Radiogroup with Submit with the source set as only when current value in session state is null. In Firefox the value is retained, If I select Yes or No, the page does an automatic submit and the value I selected is returned correctly. However in IE, when the auto submit is done the value is set as null. What could be causing this to work correctly in Firefox and not in IE?

    I found the problem. The items in question are in a SQL Region generated from the wizard as an SQL report. When I move these items into an HTML region it works correctly. This is an APEX bug. I also noticed Date Picker items within a report region do not work, you are unable to select the date.

  • Select List with Submit - Branch Error - form data does not save

    I am a new APEX user so please excuse my ignorance. I have created a simple application in which a primary data entry form branches either to a detail form (one to many on the parent ID) or a master tabular report used for navigation. These branches work fine. Then I tried to get a little fancy with a conditionally displayed element based on the value the user selects in a select list on the main form(P9_REPORT_TYPE). I converted the select list to a select list with submit and created a new branch (on submit - after processing) to the current page (Page 9) to avoid the "no branch found" error. To avoid the branch being unconditional, I tried to use the 'Request = Expression1' condition with the Expression 1 field set to P9_REPORT_TYPE. The behavior I get is that the page seems to submit but the data on the form is not saved -- even the new value selected in P9_REPORT_TYPE reverts to the old value. I simply need the page data to submit so that the conditionally displayed element will take effect (which it does if you use one of the other button-based branches and then return to the form). Do I have the syntax wrong? It seems like this should be straightforward but I've tried a number of options including using a PL/SQL condition V('REQUEST')='P9_REPORT_TYPE' with no success. I'm guessing that the value of Request is getting cleared before it has a chance to trigger the branch? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Exactly so! Thanks Scott for setting me straight. For the benefit of other readers, the value in the Source Used column had been set to "Always, replacing any existing value in session state" and should have been set to "Only when current value in session state is null".

  • Chart based on Select list with submit Lov problem

    Hi,
    I have one page with interactive report showing username with links, date and
    database actions.
    Another page contains one region having flash chart based on select list with submit Lov.
    The lov is created by dynamic query.
    Every time when i click the 1st page report link, the 2nd page lov is populating the value automatically. But the problem is chart displays NO DATA FOUND message though the LOV has many values.
    I don't want to display any null values so set to NO for LOV
    I tried to write Before header computation (PL/SQL Function Body) to set the lov value, but the query is displayed as such.
    I don't want to assign any static default value also as the values are dynamic for every link.
    The following is my Before header computation of Select list with submit (Item name is p11_schema). (PLSQL Function Body)
    begin
    if :p11_schema is null then
    return 'select distinct owner schema1, owner schema2 from auditing
    where access_date=' || :p11_access_date
    || ' and username=' || :p11_username
    || ' order by owner';
    end if;
    end;
    This is my chart query.
    select null link, obj_name label, sum(sel_count) "Select", sum(ins_count) "Insert", sum(upd_count) "Update", sum(del_count) "Delete" from auditing
    where username=:p11_username
    and access_date=:p11_access_date
    and owner=NVL(:p11_schema, OWNER)
    group by owner, obj_name
    Example: If there more than one records in the lov, the graph should display the 1st record. When i select another record, the chart accordingly display the selected values. But inially it should not display "NO DATA FOUND" message.
    I tried using all the combinations of computation type for the lov, SQL query ( I could not use if conditon then), PLSQL expression, PLSQL function body. But it does not work out.
    Can anyone please help me out.
    Thanks.

    Hi Scott,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I found out the solution for this problem as below.
    But i did it in different way to tackle the dynamic query wich returns more than one record using rownum always the 1st record when it is empty instead of assigning constant (static) value like '1'. And i am returning LOV itself for both null or not null condition as below.
    Declare
    q varchar2(4000);
    begin
    if :p11_schema is null then
    q:='select distinct owner schema from auditing';
    q:=q || ' where username=:p11_username ';
    q:=q || ' and access_date=:p11_access_date ';
    q:=q || ' and rownum<2 order by owner';
    Execute immediate q into :p11_schema USING :p11_username, :p11_access_date;
    end if;
    return :P11_SCHEMA;
    end;

    I have a Select List with Submit (P8_COLOR) which I want to use to filter the data in my report.
    P8_COLOR has 3 static values ALL, RGB, BYP that return ALL,RGB and BYP.
    When the page is submitted, my SQL Query (PL SQL function body returning SQL Query) does not recognize the return value. I can assign the return value to a different textfield and can see the correct value being assigned.
    My PL SQL looks like below...
    IF :P8_COLOR = 'RGB' THEN
    q := q || ' AND COLOR_ID in (1,2,3)
    END IF;
    I am not a PL SQL expert and wonder whether the IF condition is correct. Would appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks,
    Ghazi

    Thanks Jes. That worked.
    Would you know why :P8_COLOR didn't work? What is the difference between using :P8_COLOR and v('P8_COLOR')? I am using :P8_XXXX for another Select List that only checks for null and that works. The one where I am checking for the return value doesn't work.
    Thanks again.

  • Android mobile does not work with submit fdf format

    I want to gather data by mobile device (Android) as JavaScript does not work well in this environment, I intend importing the gathered data into a report PDF form with JavaScript functions etc., however the Acrobat mobile reader does not appear to work with the submit function for sending data (FDF format) by E Mail.
    We are using Acrobat XI in most cases to gather this data and this works well, however we are experimenting with mobile options which are very limiting, and therefore we thought by just gathering the data on a mobile device we could import it into our working windows pdf form, our trials using this concept in a windows environment work, but we stumbled once we found that the submit button does not work in the android reader to send the FDF data.
    Does anyone know of a work around?
    Regards Mike

    FormsCentral can be a bit confusing, so I'll try to clarify some things. It allows you to work with two completely different types of forms: web forms and PDF forms. Web forms are HTML forms and are hosted on the FormsCentral server and loaded into and submitted via the user's browser, so web forms do require internet access.
    FormsCentral can also process submissions from PDF forms, and the forms can either originate from Acrobat or the FormsCentral designer, either the desktop app that comes with Acrobat 11 or the browser-based app. The FormsCentral designer allows you to create PDF forms with simple layouts, whereas Acrobat gives you much more flexibility. Designing a PDF form in FormsCentral can be helpful if you want to be able to use the same form for both a web form and a PDF form, allowing to to take advantage of each type at the same time, but you are not limited to PDF forms that are created by the FormsCentral designer.
    Regardless of how the PDF was created, it can be set up to submit the form data to the FormsCentral server, which is done using the same format as a web form. It is done securely using HTTPS. There are certain features that are supported with PDF forms that aren't supported by FormsCentral, but this is usually not a problem. The most significant limitation is the 500 field limitation, so some larger forms aren't possible.
    Once you have a PDF form created in Acrobat, you simply import it into FormsCentral and it gets uploaded to the FormsCentral server, where it is Reader-enabled, a submit button is automatically added, and is then downloaded so you can distribute it by placing it on your web site, sending by email, etc. So unlike web forms, FormsCentral does not host them for you.
    It is possible to use Acrobat to modify the PDF that you download, first by selecting in Acrobat "File > Save a Copy", opening the copy, and making the changes. This is often done to change the submit button (size, location, other properties) of the submit button that gets added. You can then Reader-enable in Acrobat if needed and distribute the form.
    Since it's a normal PDF form that is Reader-enabled, Reader users will be able to open it, fill it in, and save it at any time using Reader for Windows/Mac or Reader for Android/iOS. The latter currently only support submitting via email or to FormsCentral, as opposed to your own web server. Once the user has access to the internet, they can open the form and press the submit button. If the submit is successful, the FormsCentral server returns a response so the user gets some feedback, unlike with email "submits".
    Each submission is automatically stored in the responses table, which you and team members can view at any time. An individual response can be downloaded as a filled-in PDF, or you can download the entire table and import the data into a spreadsheet for further analysis. As mentioned earlier, you can set it up so that you and others can receive an email for each submission, and it can include the form data in the body of the email if wanted.
    Post again if you have any questions, or go to the FormsCentral forum here. The forum is generally very good, but sometimes questions about PDF forms are not answered entirely accurately, so it's sometime helpful to post here too.

  • Warning: There is no reporting group defined with a purpose of iRecruitment

    Hi,
    When i try to generate the offer letter in iRecruitment, i am getting the warning: There is no reporting group defined with a purpose of iRecruitment in "Enter compensation" Screen. However i am able to generate the offer letter,preview and submit the offer letter. I have referred the Article [ID 1168832.1] in oracle support. It suggest me to give the Temporary Directory file name using XML Publisher Administrator , but still the Warning appears.
    STEPS
    The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
    1. From Vacancy Search page, select applicant.
    2. Create Offer: Enter Basic Details.
    3. Warning: There is no reporting group defined with a purpose of iRecruitment for this business group.
    4. Review page.
    Version Details: Oracle Applications : 12.1.2
    But still the offer letter is generated.
    Can anyone advice me to over come this warning
    Regards
    Suraysh

    I have the same behavior too. Looking at the iRecruitment implementation guide, I see reporting groups defined there.
    1) Select your HRMS Superuser responsibility
    2) Go to Total Compensation : General Definitions : Additional Setup : Reporting Groups
    If you see no data, it's likely you have ... no reporting groups.
    I think this time the error is pointing you in the right direction.
    I hope this helps.

  • Problem with Submit statement into print program for delivery

    Hi all,
    i got a problem with the SUBMIT statement that i put into a print program associated to a delivery output message.
    If i print the message by VL02N or VL71, everything works.
    But if i associate the output with RV56ABST, the SUBMIT instruction isn't accepted and i get the message
    "Processor ABAP: POSTING_ILLEGAL_STATEMENT"
    There is any solution to this situation?
    Why i cannot use the SUBMIT statement in this case?

    Hi Simone,
    you could try to do the operation in a separate task (call a function in starting new task). This will decouple your current process from the new task.
    Cheers,
    Stefan.

  • Reporting a problem with purchased apps.

    I cannot report an issue with my purchased apps as instructed on apple website.  When I clicked 'Report a problem', apple support webpage opens instead of message box I can send to support agents. What should I do?

    I've done them all. When I click 'Report a problem' button next to a purchased item, instead of message box, Itunes support webpage(http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/) opens.
