Report + Jquery + CSV export = jquery result lost

We have some IR reports with breaks. We put these next to eachother on specific headers with jquery code in the report. But when we do an export i want the same results as shown in the report. The changes made in Jquery get lost when i do a CSV export. Is there some way to get the same columns next to each other like in the report on the screen? or is there some other way to get the same result using something other than jquery? We are now want to making a function in DB using dynamic sql that returns a query to apex report but there should be some easier way in Apex than this no?
Thanks in advance

@ TexasApexDeveloper i asked this question on linkedin Apex group before. But not here. So there no way to show the breaks next to eachother in the CSV file? with or without use of Jquery?
@ Tyson: no sample app.
Standard behavier of IR report:
department :1
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
department :2
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
col1 col2 col3 col4
BREAK
With Jquery made it look like this
department 1
col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK
department 2
col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK
i want the data like this in CSV, so that then user opens this in excel the data is presented horizontaly per department:
department 1
col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK
department 2
col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK col1 col2 col3 col4 BREAK

  • Crystal Report XI - .csv export not working

    Hi Folks,
I developed reports in Crystal Report XI R2 version (with service pack 6) and calling them from Power Builder 11.5. When I export the report to .csv format I see only parameter names with values (supplied to call this report) in csv file.
    For eg:
    Parameters are
    Start Date: 01/01/2012
    End Date: 02/01/2012
    CompanyID: 21234
    Regular output:
    colum1 colum2 ...... columnn
    data1 data2 datan
    data1 data2 datan
    data1 data2 datan
    ..... 10 records
    csv output looks like this:
Start Date 01/01/2012 End Date 02/02/2012 CompanyID 21234
Start Date 01/01/2012 End Date 02/02/2012 CompanyID 21234
Start Date 01/01/2012 End Date 02/02/2012 CompanyID 21234
    ..... 10 records
Please let me know what changes should I do.
    Thanks
    Indra

    Hi Indra,
Subreports are not exported to CSV, unfortunately. The multiple rows that you see are actually the detail sections that are repeating.
Try exporting to Excel and then to .csv from Excel.

  • Include page items along with report in CSV export file

I have a classic report and several page items asa apart of a classic report region. They represent various calculations based on the report.

    Thanks,

  • ORA-20876 in csv export from interactive report = Possibly a bug?

    Hi Apex team,
yesterday i tried to download data to csv from an interactive report. The resulting csv file contained a "ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine" only and no other data. I played around with other reports in my application and had no problems with exports.
After some investigation i found out that the buggy report contains a column of display type "Display as text (based on a LOV, escape special characters)". When I changed this column type to "Standard Report Column" for example, the error didn't appear anymore and the csv export contained complete data.
Maybe this is a bug? The environment is Apex 4.1.1.00.23 on 11g (UTF-8). Is there a workaround available?
    Regards,
    Jens

    Additional Information
The problem seems to occur only if a Shared Components LOV of type "Static" is referenced in the IR column.

    Hi,
what happens if you take the query from IR report and create a new classic report?
On this report enable csv export and then try the export.
Maybe that (format) data are causing export to fail.
Try to export just one row in your IR report (and classic report), so that you add where rownum < 2.

  • Calling the CSV Export link in a Report Template

I'm trying to have our "download" link appear on the bottom left rather then the default which is to the far right in Look 4.
When I look at the source code, I can see how look 3 and 4 differ - different HTML table set-up and "align=right" for the link.
Unfortunately, looking at the source gives me the direct source for that specific report file not the command to include the csv export file, so I can't include it in a new report template design.
Is there code I can use to include a CSV link in my report template?
If not, how can I place the report download/csv export into my Nav bar region, or some other region?

    Michelle,
Typically you'll find the substitution strings documented in the popup help when clicking on the item label. But this one doesn't seem to be listed there. It's documented in the online help though. Click in the help icon in the upper right corner of your page and search for CSV.

  • Report Checkbox Columns in CSV Export File are NULL

    Hi,
Hoping someone can assist. Am using Oracle ApEx 3.0.1.
I have a report that consists of a number of checkbox columns where I am using the Apex_Item.checkbox with a disabled attribute.
My questions is, when I attempt to export this report to CSV format, the columns referring to the checkboxes are showing up as NULL/blank, even though I am using a 'Y' and 'N' for the checkbiox values.
Any ideas on how to correct this issue?
    Thanks.
    Tony.

Tony. With checkboxes you don't get a value while exporting. You can use this as an alternative:
    1. in the checkbox column properties put the following PL/SQL expression in the condition (expression 1 textbox):
    apex_application.g_excel_format = FALSE
    2. create a new column for your Y/N values and make it conditional - PL/SQL expression in the condition (expression 1 textbox):
    apex_application.g_excel_format = TRUE

  • Problem in exporting report in CSV format

    Hi All,
I am using Crystal Reports. Following are details about it:
    CR Developer
    Product 8.5.0.217
    *_Problem that I am facing:__*_
I can create report in .rpt format, it is working fine here. But while trying to export this report in CSV format, it gives report that doesn't contain any information.
Is it because I am missing something or it is a known issue?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anand

    Hi,
I too am facing the same problem.
The report was made in 8.5. I have exported the report & opened it in Crystal report 12.
I can export to PDF, RTF, DOC & Tab separated Test.
However when I export this report in .csv (legacy mode) I just get the header & when I export it in .csv (Standard) I get a blanck .csv file.
I have  checked 'Isolate Report/Page sections' and 'Isolate Group sections'. Still no data in the report.
    refreshed it too.
I contains sub reports, but not in the page header & footer (I think) & it does not seem to have cross tabs & OLAP grids.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • How to export Bi Publisher report into .csv file in different sheets?

    Hi,
I have a report request in BI Publisher to generate the results in different tabs in Excel format with headings etc.
But the users are now asking for the same report in .csv format with the same number of tabs in one file.
Can I do that in .csv file?
    Regards
    Sailaja

Can I do that in .csv file?
    no
    csv is simple plain-text
A comma-separated values (CSV) (also sometimes called character-separated values, because the separator character does not have to be a comma) file stores tabular data (numbers and text) in plain-text form. Plain text means that the file is a sequence of characters, with no data that has to be interpreted instead, as binary numbers. A CSV file consists of any number of records, separated by line breaks of some kind; each record consists of fields, separated by some other character or string, most commonly a literal comma or tab. Usually, all records have an identical sequence of fields.

    Hello,
When I enable .csv export in my report, a name like Chiràc Jaqués apears as Chirèc Jaqués in the csv.

  • How to export report IN CSV format through JAVA.

how to export report in csv format.when try to export in csv format.its exporting into csv but report not containing column heading , report heading and it showing all the data in a single line.we have integrated the reports with java.

Use a Java API which can create PDF files based on some collection of plain vanilla Java objects (List, String, Number, etc).
Google can find them all. Just feed it with something like "Java PDF API" or so. A commonly used one is iText.
That said, when talking about this in JSP context, ensure that you do NOT write raw Java code in JSP files using scriptlets. Raw Java code belongs in Java classes. In such case you need a Servlet. In JSP just use taglibs and EL to interact with backend Java code and data. Scriptlets are discouraged since over a decade.

  • Export query results to a CSV file

My requirement is I need to export the results of a query to a CSV file. Can anyone please suggest a way to include the column names also in the CSV file?

Following code is from asktom. I have modified to include column heading. This will get your desired CSV file for a given query.
create or replace function  dump_csv( p_query     in varchar2,

//This interface is the one which allows us to add the file location
            //for the scheduling

Looking forward for your help, as it is very urgent
    Regards
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit
CR 8.5, being about 15 years old, does not support Windows 7. I am surprised this works for you with MS Office 2010 and to be honest, I'd consider my self lucky there. The fact that is does not work with office 2013... well, like I said, lucky with Office 2010 and your luck ran out with Office 2013.
Your option; rewrite the app in VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 and use the CR Assemblies for VS .NET from SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET. The CR Java SDK would be another option.
