Report Layout converts & into %26amp;
When using APEX 4.2.1 with the Instance Setting: Report Printing: Print Server = Oracle APEX Listener. I use an after processing branch call to PRINT_REPORT=REPORT_PDF. The Report Query for REPORT_PDF has Source Query: "select 'A & B' DESCRIPTION from dual" which uses Report Layout "LAYOUT_7".
When I choose Output Format="XML" for the Report Query, the description field is returned as 'A & B' which is rendered as 'A & B' in browser.
When I choose Output Format="PDF" for the Report Query, the description field is returned as 'A %26amp; B' which is rendered as 'A %26amp; B' in Adobe Reader.
How do I get the Adobe Reader to output 'A & B'?
Thank you,
Ryan
Hi,
As it is passed as a special character, it converts & into %26
If it has space then it would be converted to %20
So make sure, you are not using constants like that. It renders properly in web browser as the browser converts or parses %26 to & symbol when rendering.

@jayHi,
BW Web Publisher Toolbar
The version of the toolbar that you use with the Web Publisher, depends on whether you store the Web templates on the BW server or the ITS server (see Determining Path and ITS Settings).
If you have chosen the ITS as the server, the toolbar has the following functions:
Symbol
Function
Create new ITS Web template
You use this function to create a new Web template.
Check out ITS Web Template
You use this function to check out an ITS Web template, and store it locally. Storing the ITS Web template locally, means that you are able to change it, by adding a new item, for example. You either overwrite the old ITS Web template, or create a new one. You have to store the new ITS template under a new name.
Check in ITS Web Template
The ITS Web template is checked in, and saved in the BW system.
Publish to ITS
The ITS Web template is stored on the ITS you select.
Display Web template in the Browser
The Web template that has been checked in and published on the ITS, is displayed in the Web Browser.
Copy HTML tag to clipboard
You use this function to save the item as an HTML tag on the clipboard.
Wizard
This function takes you to the Web Publisher Wizard.
See also:
Creating Web Reports with the Web Publisher Wizard
If you have chosen BW as the server, the toolbar has the following functions:
The publish function is deactivated, because it is only used in conjunction with ITS Web templates. The other symbols have the same functions as described in the above table, but they refer instead to Web templates that are stored on the BW server.
Views
The saved query views that the Web reports are based on, are displayed in the Views field. You use the Switch Workbook button to get to the Open dialog, where you open queries in other workbooks.
Items
The items that are already available for the view you have chosen are displayed in the Items field.
Choose New Item to create a new item, and to specify the item type used (map, chart, table, navigation block, and so on).
Choose Change Attribute to determine the value of the highlighted attribute for the item you have chosen.
Choose Save item to save the item you have been editing.
Choose Delete item to delete the selected item.
Properties of the Current Item
In the Properties of the current item field, the attributes that correspond to the item type you have selected are displayed. Depending on the type of attribute, you activate or deactivate attributes by double-clicking on the relevant attribute, and you determine the value of the attribute with either a double-click, or by choosing the Change Attribute... function.
You can convert the spool to PDF using the program RSTXPDFT5 or
using the fun module CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.
then you can mail it to others using the fun module
SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.

Hi All,
When i am executing the report in report designer, the report is executing but cant see the layout of the report in IE . I can see all tools and options except report layout at portal and even i m not finding any error msg also. plz help in this regards.
Regards,
KaushikHi Kaushik,
1) Are you facing the same problem with any other reports you format on report designer ?
What changes have you made to your report output?
Report Designer is a new feature of BI 7.0 and I know only the theory of it. You said you have checked with WAD..have you tried using this report which is having problem in WAD as 'Report Web item'?
There might be a setting that you need to do in report desginer or there is some additional installation to be done in order to support Report Designer (remember this is a new feature so even Basis or Protal teams are new to it!)
See these two items from help.sap,
4. Executing the Report
You execute the report in the portal (Web). The report is displayed in the standard Web template for reports. You can set the standard Web template for reports in Customizing for the standard Web templates at SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Reporting-Relevant Settings ®BEx Web ®Set Standard Web Templates ® Enterprise Report.
You can also create a print version of the report directly in the Report Designer. The report is converted into a PDF document, which you can then print.
5. Publishing the Report
You can publish reports in BI roles or as iViews in the portal.
You can also call the BEx Broadcaster from the Report Designer and broadcast reports. More information: Functions of the BEx Broadcaster
Also see this.
Use
When you display a report in the portal (Web), it is automatically embedded in the standard Web template for reports. The report is displayed in a table on the Web. In addition, a date in the upper area of the Web template indicates how current the data is. Using the standard pushbuttons provided, Information, Send, and Print Version, and the link Filter, you can access the most common functions for navigating in and further editing your report.
Integration
When you have created and saved a report in the Report Designer, choose (Execute): The report is displayed automatically in the portal using the standard Web template for reports.
From a technical perspective, the standard Web template for reports is based on the 0REPORT_DEFAULT_TEMPLATE Web template. This Web template is set as the default for displaying reports from the Report Designer in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide under SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Reporting-Relevant Settings ® BEx Web ® Set Standard Web Templates ® Enterprise Report. The standard Web template contains three pushbuttons, Information, Send and Print Version, and the link Filter to call the filter pane.
You can copy this Web template to make changes and set it as your new standard Web template for reports in the IMG. Note that to activate the changes in the SAP Reference IMG, you must start the J2EE Engine.
Here is the link.

How to get EBS Concurrent Request number (and more) into BIP Report Layout
hi,
I have been using BIP for 9 months but have several years experience of Reports 6i development (matrix, drill-thru etc). We are beginning to use BI Publisher with EBS and would like to be able to incorporate the Concurrent Request number into the report layout (preferably in the footer area). I have looked back over previous forum posts and have found mention of how to get the report parameters into the XML datastream and template, but nothing for the Concurrent Request number. I've also looked at the DevTools/Reports forum but cannot see anything similar there.
It would add a lot of value to generated output for end-users if this information (+ environment/instance name etc) can be put into the layout.
SeanHi
Create a data query in data template/reports as
select fnd_global.conc_request_id "REQUEST_ID" from dual
and this will pick up the request id and then u can use it in the RTF layout
Hope this helps.. -
How to convert Oracle reports previewer output into delimited file.
How to convert Oracle reports previewer output into delimited file if the report has more than 1000 pages.
I tried with previewer option File --> Generate to file --> Delimited file, but the report engine is crashing. Not generating .TXT file.
I observed that this option is not working for more than 400 pages.
I am using Oracle reports 6i version.
Plz suggest me to generate .TXT file from Report previewer. You can specify a delimiter (a character or string of characters) to separate the data (boilerplate or field objects) in your report output in either of the following ways:
On the command line using the DELIMITER keyword.
In the Delimited Output dialog box or DelimitedData Output dialog box (displayed with File > Generate to File > Delimited or File > Generate to File > DelimitedData) in Reports Builder.

Use XML stored in the DB with an Named Columns (XSL-FO) report layout
Hi Folks.
Here's my 'challenge' du jour.
I have an XML document saved in the database.
It was uploaded through APEX (form with report) into a table where the column holding the XML file is defined as "SYS"."XMLTYPE"
I have an XSD file which I am using as the report template definition.
my report query is
SELECT xml_data
FROM xml_documents
WHERE filename = 'test.xml'When I run the report in APEX stating "Use Generic Report Layout" I get a PDF stating [unsupported data type]
Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions?
I have downloaded Apache FOP 0.95 and have succesfully converted the XML into a PDF using the XSL file. Consequently I know that the XML and XSL documents I am using are 'well formed'.
Many thanks
Kind regards
Simon Gadd
Edited by: Simon Gadd on Mar 23, 2009 6:29 PMJust as a follow up, I have come to the logical conclusion that the APEX report query is expecting you to pull back a regular data set from a SQL query.
This can then be parsed with an XSL format report layout. It's not expecting you to pull complete XML out of the database.
Am I right?

MB51 - report layout and detail list
We are running jobs with MB51 with a specific layout. when the report displays, we click the detail box to convert it to a one line report.
Is it possible t execute MB51 and have the detail list display - so this could be run in the background and the one line list display would be the spool file.
OR - Can I create a one line report with MAterial number oand vendor on each line with quantities, values etc.
thanks
AltheaI finally had a chance to look into this -
All report layouts are using a "header" line and a "Position" line
It is this Header and Position that are making it "not useful" as a download file at this level. As I said - if I click "details" - I get the report I'd really like to see for back ground process spool file or export file.
Any ideas how to create a report layout without the header and position line? or just no header line would work. When I try modifying an existing report - Material and Plant are always on the header line and not available on the position line.
Any and all help will be rewarded - thank you -
Oracle bi publisher report for apex - Report Layout
Hi There,
Navigation: Home>Application Builder>Application 20>Shared Components>Report Layouts
I created rtf template for a Report Query. It worked fine upto certain point.
However at some point, if I make a minor modification to the layout it is not displaying all the data that it is supposed to.
I have 3 tables in my RTF template 1) Header 2) Details 3) Summary. Details section has a group. This runs fine.
Now if I just combine all the above 3 tables into one by adding row above and row below to the "2) details" table and moving the table 1 and table 3 into those rows, makes the data in the group in table 2 disappear when run on the apex application.
However it works fine when data is loaded on the RTF template and Preview --> PDF is seen.
Is it a known bug? Because some of my coleagues has same issues.
Thanks
Krishna

Are those fields in the corresponding report query? change to the design of the document? did you delete the old template and re-upload after making the changes?
Moreover the preview on the RTF template works fine with the same data.Preview from where?

Crystal Report Layout asking for Login Info
I have modified the Delivery Note Crystal Report Layout for Business One by clicking the Edit button on the Report and Layout Manager for Delivery Note (Items). I then saved my modifications to a file. Finally, I go into Business One and import the Layout for Delivery Note (Items). When I preview the Layout it asks me for login information then continues to fail. How dow I make it so I can print the Delivery without having to constantly log in?
Hi Jeff,
I recently had a similar problem on an 8.82 implementation, having contacted and spoken to SAP Support multiple times these suggested fixes worked:
The request to login to the database when you open or print preview a Crystal
report is a known issue. To resolve this, I recommend you go through our Root
Cause Analysis (RCA) guide. Please see attac hed Note 1676353 on where to find
this. There are four Cases in this guide (which contain a number of Influences)
- please go through all Cases and Influences.
We also tried the following:
STEP 1:
Influence 2: Case 2 is to clear all the data for login (e.g. sa and
password - delete them) and then ticked 'Integrated Security#.
- Influence
3: #: Check the current datasource is to update connection.
- Retest opening
the system reports on a workstation.
- If they are still reporting an error
try the next step
- STEP 2:
- Change the datasource location of
the report from OLE DB to SAP Business One type and leave the
authentication
information blank. Try running the report in Crystal, and then import to SAP.
And also opened up the Crystal Report via the Edit button in SAP in Reports and Layouts Manager, we then clicked on the database connection and updated all the tables (even though they were the same) and these got the reports needed working. Speaking to SAP it is a known bug and they are releasing a hotfix to resolve it, but try explaining that to a customer !!!
Hope these help.

How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1
Hi,
I wanna ask about How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1 ?
I want when user print Purchase Order then on last page also print some page like Penalty Clause etc.
Pls help me to find the solution.
Br,
Thomas MarsetyoHi,
In your report footer, set it to create a new page before it is printed (In 'Section Expert', select the Report Footer -> 'Paging' tab -> Check 'New Page Before' checkbox). Throw your Terms & Conditions into the Report Footer section.
If you already have a Report Footer that you want to keep, just split the footer into two sections (Right-click the Report Footer section -> 'Insert Section Below') and follow the same procedure for the newly created section.

Regards,
Raj.Hello,
Following is the procedure to convert alv output to spool and then it to PDF Format.
After we display the ALV, we can check whether it is running in the background using system field u2018sy-batchu2018. Then,we call an function module named u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019 to get the current job information. Then go to spool request table tbtcp to get the spool id.
Get current job details
CALL FUNCTION u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019
IMPORTING
eventid = gd_eventid
eventparm = gd_eventparm
external_program_active = gd_external_program_active
jobcount = gd_jobcount

AND stepcount = gd_stepcount
AND listident <> u20180000000000u2032
ORDER BY jobname
jobcount
stepcount.
READ TABLE it_tbtcp INTO wa_tbtcp INDEX 1.
Finally, we can call function module u2018CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDFu2018 to convert spool reqeust(which is stored in OTF format) to PDF format. Then we can call either function module u2018SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1u2032 or SAP BCS (Business Communication Service) to send the pdf as an email attachment.

Hi,
I have created User defined form. Now i have to display report when click on Preview button (Same as Standard document).
Can we use report & layout manager to display report.
Regards,
PravinHello
possible with development, and it is pending from the B1 version.
Easy solutions are:
- 8.81 you can use Crystal Reports and PLD
- 2007 you can use PLD only or CR integration addon
in Crystal:
- You can create your layout and you can import into the system as report (not layout) into a specific folder
- When you press the print or print preview button (eg menu action is indicated, menu id "520", "519"), then you can find the crystal report in the OCMN table with the following query
select MenuUID from OCMN where Name = N'YOUR_REPORT_NAME'
- next step is call the report with ActivateMenuItem and fill the parameters.
Complete code for crystal
Dim oRs As SAPbobsCOM.Recordset = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.BoRecordset)
Dim sQuery As String
Dim sMenuID As String
sQuery = "select MenuUID from OCMN where Name = N'YOUR_REPORT_NAME"
oRs.DoQuery(sQuery)
If oRs.Fields.Count > 0 Then
sMenuID = oRs.Fields.Item("MenuUID").Value.ToString
m_SBO_Application.ActivateMenuItem(sMenuID)
Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form = SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm
oForm.Items.Item("1000003").Specific.String = docentry
m_CrystalCriteriaFormID = oForm.UniqueID
oForm.Items.Item("1").Click(BoCellClickType.ct_Regular)
Else : m_SBO_Application.MessageBox("NO PRINTING LAYOUT EXISTS!")
End If
In PLD, the logic is the same, but you must activate the User Queries print layout, and locate the report in the matrix.

János
