Report layout with BIP

Hi All,
As I am a newbie,
Could any one help, how to create a report layout file with BI Publisher.?
Thanks in advance
bye
Srikavi

As far as I understood, if you have BI publisher there is an addon for word which you can install and then create your layout in word like every other document.
In this OBE it should be described:

  • COPA Report Layout with Object List (ALV)

    Hi,
    I have question about the COPA report layout with object list (ALV). Everytime I executed the report with ALV format, the amount for quantity column always shows with 3 decimal number, menwhile for amount column always follow by 2 decimal number.
    Can anyone help me regarding this matter? I do not know how to turn off the decimal number to be 0 in this type of layout, although in the form itself I already put 0 decimal number.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Better to raise this issue in CO Forum. You can expect some solution.

  • Can report created with BIP be called from forms?

    Hello.
    We have many forms.
    And now we ned complex reports. With BIP we can create them.
    But is there a way to call them from forms, like reports created with Report builder?
    Can we transfer parameters from forms to BIP reports, so data can be queried on that form parameters?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    yes, there are several ways you can do this.
    DejanH, we discussed at the BI Publisher Forum, here just for the others.
    The document you're looking for is here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v21.pdf
    or here
    http://www.oracle.com/global/de/community/forms/documents/Forms_BIP_v21.pdf
    Jan,
    it's a new version of the mentioned paper at the OTN-Forms-Side and the old one was removed.
    The document describes the way, how to integrate BI Publisher via Web Services into Forms. There are other ways available like
    - using HTTP calls via show_document
    - using the JavaAPI of BI Publisher and import the needed classes to Forms

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

    I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
    Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
    First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
    The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
    however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
    anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
    use a query like the following: (with a union in between)
    SELECT COLUMN1,NULL , NULL ,NULL ,NULL
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    ---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">
    <TH><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TH>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN4.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
    this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.
    with kind regards,
    naqvi

  • How do I create a crystal report layout with a table and borders

    My crystal report is a signin sheet. The sign in sheet has an ID column, Name column, Institution column, Place to signin column, and Weekday columns with checkboxes in each column for the visitor to checkoff.
    How do I display the data that is being used int he crystal report in a table layout with borders around each cell? And is it possible to center vertical alignment of the data within eacvh cell like Excel?

    Blahahaha! Great answer Deb!
    Seriously though... There is no vertical alignment in CR. There have been several past threads related to this issue and all of them have various workarounds. None of them are very elegant.
    The best workaround I've found (especially if you are grid or borders) is to turn off the boarders for the field itself and drawl a rectangle around the field(s). Now you can place the field in the lower portion of the rectangle and adjust the rectangles height to place the field text in the center of the rectangle.
    This will give you more control over the height of your elements than using a carriage return before the text.

  • Difficult to achive the report layout with dynamic column names

    I have a report layout as below.
    So here the column names are dynamic.And each fixed row group has different calculations. I have a date parameter. If I select July 2013, then I need to show data from July 2012 to July 2013 with Columns(Jul-12, Aug-12...Jul-13). How to achive below layout
    with dynamic columns?

    Hi Sarayu_CM,
    According to your description, you want to filter the records of prior year based on only one parameter selection. Right?
    In this scenario, we can create two parameters. The first one is for user to select. The second parameter is based on the first parameter selection. We don't need to specify Available Values for the second parameter, but we should use expression to specify
    Default Values based on the first parameter selection. Use the expression below:
    =DateAdd("m",-12,FormatDateTime(Parameters!param1.Value))
    Then we just need to apply a filter on the matrix/dataset to get the records which the date is between values in these two parameters.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best Regards,
    Simon Hou

  • Report layout with User default and gobal default

    hi,
    any authorization to control report layout, only some user ID can use "user default" layout, and part of user available to set the layout as default
    thanks

    Is is a custom-developed ALV report or an SAP-supplied one?
    If if is custom-developed, you can register the following user-commands
    &AVE - Save layout
    &OL0 - Change layout
    &OAD - Select layout
    in parameter IT_EVENT_EXIT  of REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY.  When these user-commands are triggered, control passes to the user command routine in your callback program.  In the callback routine, you can implement authorization/security checks.
    Also look at parameters IS_VARIANT and I_SAVE to control use of variants.,
    If it is an SAP-supplied program, try using the auth-object mentioned in my earlier post.

  • Crystal Report Layout With Prompts SAP BO v8.8

    Forum members,
    I can successfully import a Crystal Report with parameters as a REPORT type into SAP BO 8.8.  But when I attempt to upload the same report as a LAYOUT type, I receive the error, "Missing Parameters" and the import process halts even when I set a value as the default value for the parameters.  I have two questions:
    1.  Does SAP BO v8.8 support Crystal Report parameters in print layouts?  If it does,
    2.  How do I resolve this error message and get this functionality to work?
    Thanks!
    Gregg

    I ended up submitting this to SAP support as a bug.  Found that we can successfully print using the preview button first and then printing from that interface but sending the report directly to the printer or pdf generates an error.

  • Attribute "Report Layout" is missing in the "Print Attributes" tab for IR

    Hallo,
    The attribute “Report Layout” is missing in the “Print Attributes” tab for an interactive report?
    How to alter the report layout (xsl-fo) of an interactive report?
    Has someone any idea where to configure this?
    Btw, for the "classic" SQL Report the XSL-FO "Report Layout" can be cahnged in "Print Attributes" and this works fine for me. But I want to change the xsl-fo for the interactive report.
    "If you do not select a report layout, a default XSL-FO layout is used. The default XSL-FO layout is always used for rendering Interactive Report regions. ... Unlike classic reports, the Interactive Report Print Attributes can only utilize the default XSL-FO layout and is initiated from the Report Attributes, Download section rather than directly from this screen. Once configured, these attributes only apply only to the current region and cannot be used outside the context of the region."
    http://apex.oracle.com/i/doc/bldapp_rpt_print.htm
    How can the "default XSL-FO layout" be changed?
    Changing is necessary because the Apache FOP 1.0 reports the following error (for the transmitted default XSL-FO):
    "fo:simple-page-master", "fo:region-body" must be declared before "fo:region-before"
    http://www.w3.org/TR/xsl/#fo_region-before
    The default report layout is not saved in:
    select * from APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_REPORT_LAYOUTS
    Thx, Willi

    I've found two workaround for getting Apache FOP 1.0 to work with Oracle Apex 4.0 for PDF printing of interactive reports:
    1, Use an application process to set your custom layout for interactive reports:
    [ ] grant all on APEX_040000.WWV_RENDER_REPORT3 to {YOUR_SCHEMA_NAME};
    [ ] Create an Application Process e.g. "Custom Report Layout" with constraint for request 'PDF' and Process Text:
    declare
    v_xsl varchar2(32767);
    begin
    v_xsl := '<?xml version = ''1.0'' encoding = ''utf-8''?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0"
      <fo:region-body region-name="region-body" margin-top="54.0pt" margin-bottom="54.0pt"/>
      <fo:region-before region-name="region-header" extent="54.0pt"/>
    </xsl:stylesheet>';
    APEX_040000.WWV_RENDER_REPORT3.g_prn_template := v_xsl;
    end;2, If you have some knowlege in Java change the sequnce of the the nodes in the apex_fop.jsp (or servlet), ie. changing the xsl before you use it for transformation.
    The code depends on the solution you are using to parse the xsl string.
    Hope this may help someone,
    Willi

    Please create No Result report and apply using( Guided Navigation) to main report
    1. Drag the no result report in your dashboard.
    2. Click this report Guided Navigation Properties --> Reference Source Request -- YES then ----select this report path into -- Source Request- then Show section--- select this option (If request returns Noting).
    3. The out put like if there is no date you will get NO Result report.
    Please do work around here.

  • Report Layout

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a reporting scenario. I would like to have a report layout with the following.  In my columns, I would like to have 4 KFs of 1 Year and 4 KFs of prior Yr.  On top of the first 4 columns, I would like to have a title that says CurrYr and on top of other columns (5-8 columns) I would like to say PriorYr.  So basically 8 columns, but the header needs to be Year specific.  Can someone share their thoughts on this and suggest a best possible solution or recommend any other better layout for reporting.  I'm just kinda stuck on the header for the columns.  Getting the KFs is not an issue.
    Thanks for any feedback.

  • How to get EBS Concurrent Request number (and more) into BIP Report Layout

    hi,
    I have been using BIP for 9 months but have several years experience of Reports 6i development (matrix, drill-thru etc). We are beginning to use BI Publisher with EBS and would like to be able to incorporate the Concurrent Request number into the report layout (preferably in the footer area). I have looked back over previous forum posts and have found mention of how to get the report parameters into the XML datastream and template, but nothing for the Concurrent Request number. I've also looked at the DevTools/Reports forum but cannot see anything similar there.
    It would add a lot of value to generated output for end-users if this information (+ environment/instance name etc) can be put into the layout.

    Hi
    Create a data query in data template/reports as

  • Use XML stored in the DB with an Named Columns (XSL-FO) report layout

    Hi Folks.
    Here's my 'challenge' du jour.
    I have an XML document saved in the database.
    It was uploaded through APEX (form with report) into a table where the column holding the XML file is defined as "SYS"."XMLTYPE"
    I have an XSD file which I am using as the report template definition.
    my report query is
    SELECT xml_data
    FROM   xml_documents
    WHERE  filename = 'test.xml'When I run the report in APEX stating "Use Generic Report Layout" I get a PDF stating [unsupported data type]
    Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions?
    I have downloaded Apache FOP 0.95 and have succesfully converted the XML into a PDF using the XSL file. Consequently I know that the XML and XSL documents I am using are 'well formed'.
    Many thanks
    Kind regards

    Just as a follow up, I have come to the logical conclusion that the APEX report query is expecting you to pull back a regular data set from a SQL query.
    This can then be parsed with an XSL format report layout. It's not expecting you to pull complete XML out of the database.
    Am I right?

  • Issue with Report Layout

    Hi All,
    I am working on a report which display employee present or absent in the month. I have to display dynamic column as days varies as per month .
    I am done with the report design/query part, using matrix report layout. Report executes and produce expected output too.
    Problem:
    As this report consists maximum 33 columns (1 = employ name + 31=days in the month + 1=Total days present) I change Page Layout to Landscape.
    When I select report output as "pdf" it generates report in Portrait Layout.
    Could you please tell me how to fix this issue?
