Report Margins.. Not saving in .REP file?

dear all
I create a report and setup its Paper Size, margins etc after selecting desired Printer. Then I run it and take prints, it prints according to my settings. But when I compile it (control T making .rep), the output of this .rep file is not according to the margins I give in settings. Especially the left margin which I set from 0.166 to 0.058, changes to 0.166 in .rep file. How I can make this change permanently to a .rep report? Cause end user do not like to change these setting always before sending a report to printer.

I can't open the vi in the moment. But by your description I think that I know the solution.
When you build the executable you've to add dinammically the vi's from report generator that aren't in your main vi hierarchy. So, you've to open the vi's and find those that are open trough "open vi reference" and add them dinamicaly.
And don't know if these tips are enough.

I am facing real challenge.
I've created report based on the stored function(packaged function).But when I try to run *.rep file I get Rep-1219< "F_xxx" has no size -- length or width is zero.>Well , my field does have a size.Also what is interesting that if I go back to the *.rdf file and try to run inside Reports during design second time I get the same error . Then if I go thru wizards again I get
Rep1106 <warning no field generated for the column "bla-bla">, and I get this message for the all my columns that I have in the second group.My report is group above.I am sure that 1106 is the cause for the 1219 in the runtime.But then if go thru wizard once again after all those 1106 messages I am able to generate report!!!! And then I do editing of report and successfully generarate new *.rep file, but when I run this file I get the same results already described.
In my report I have formula column(1) that gets value from another column(2) if values in the 3rd column not null, then I summarized column (1) at report level.
Just creating summary for the column(2) is not an option for me, because I need some values, but not all of them.Another select statment is not gonna work , because as I said, report is built on function returning ref cursor.
So can anybody help me with this problem?
Or any suggestions?

Check this out
Cause: When you defaulted your layout, a field was not generated for the column in the message. The most likely cause is that a summary was not placed in the data model correctly. For example, you may have specified the source of a summary column to be a column in a group above the summary's group. This is not allowed.
Action: Debug your data model and redefault your layout.

Why is Adobe Elements 8 not saving a psd file as a pdf after I started using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro instead of my CS3 Pro? Both Adobe software is up to date and before I switched to Acrobat XI Pro, it worked fine. Help please...

You aren't talking to Adobe here. But still...Is it by any chance asking for a QUALIFYING product? If so, you purchased an UPGRADE and now need to give the serial number of the OLDER product (Acrobat 9 or X) which you must own to be able to use the upgrade. Simples.

Some settings not saved in Presets file

I'd like to setup my fme environment with preset Xml files
(and with some dirty scripting hacks, we make the app load them
automatically).
Unfortunately, not all the Device settings are saved. There
is a tuner specific Settings tab whose settings are not saved. So
if I want to change the actual TV channel I have to use the GUI.
Other settings (like crossbar_input) are found in the XML file.
Is there a way to set entries that are not saved by the GUI
directly in the XML presets file and make fme use them?

What you're looking for is startup.xml, which will be in the
application data directory for the current user. On my Vista
machine, the path looks like this:
Drive:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Media
Encoder\startup.xml
that's where all of the current UI settings are stored. So
you know, startup.xml is UTF-16 encoded and it needs to stay that
way, and (for some reason) there needs to be a blank line at the
end of the file.

IPhoto 11 not saving edits to file

Hi - I'm using iPhoto 11 on my iMac (new user) and I can make changes to photos (crop/rotate etc) which are reflected in iPhoto but then they are not saved in the original files in the Pictures folder. I have tried to delete the com.apple.iphoto.plist file as some other forums have directed but it makes no difference. This is a problem if I am then trying to upload them to Truprint or editting them for posterity.

Of course not. Iphoto is designe to always preserve your original file. It never does anything to it. Your edits are ll carried out on a copy of the originls file.
Further, iPhoto is a database and you never, ever access the files via the Finder.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Edited RAW files not saved as .JPEG files

Before I updated to iPhoto8, when I edited my RAW files they were saved to JPEG files automatically. From the Help documentation, I believe that this should still be happening..... but it isn't.
Do I have a setting wrong? Anyone know?

Check the entry "About nondestructive editing" in iPhoto Help. With iPhoto '08 you will not see the "save" progress bar unless the photo was previously edited in iPhoto 6. Here is a portion of the text:
Nondestructive editing allows you to try different adjustments and effects at will⎯there’s no danger that successive edits and saves will degrade your photo’s quality. You’re never more than one version away from your original photo. Instead of saving a new version over the previous one every time you edit a photo, iPhoto ’08 simply remembers all your changes as an edit list.
When you reopen your edited photo to view or do more work, iPhoto then reapplies those edits to the original version. You’ll see where you left off, so you can make incremental changes from there.
IMPORTANT: For photos imported to earlier versions of iPhoto and never edited, nondestructive editing will apply in iPhoto ’08.
However, for photos imported to earlier versions and edited either in iPhoto or in a separate application such as Photoshop, nondestructive editing does not apply.

Outlook 13 mail id is not saved in nk2 file

Dear Team,
I have recently upgraded outlook-7 to outlook-13, But after importing old NK2 file from outlook-7 to outlook-13,
i can see all my old NK2 file contacts.
But the problem is after importing old NK2 file, it is not adding any new contacts to the old one .
if am clearing everything by command (Outlook.Exe /cleanautocompletecache) and freshly saving any contacts it is happening.
need your suggestion on this.....

Outlook 2013 no longer uses the nk2-file for caching recently emailed contacts (neither did Outlook 2010). Instead, it is storing this cache within the mailbox itself.

Excel not saving or open files

I recently upgraded from Tiger to Leopard and after I installed all programs again include Office 2004, I've been having problem opening and saving files in excel. When I try to save a document it gives this message "Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'user:Documents'. And when I try to open a document it says " 'user document.xls' cannot be accessed." I removed the office twice and reinstalled it again.
I have no idea how to fix this problem.

Sounds like a permissions issue. Run Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Otherwise, since this forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and not related to Microsoft Office, you should really consider posting issues with Office on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products as they would be focused more toward the issue than an Apple forum and there are Microsoft appointed MVPs there to assist.

Downloaded album art not saved in mp3 file?

When I use iTunes to download missing album art, that art is not being saved in the MP3 file. I verified this behavior by checking that the file timestamp and size didn't change after the art was successfully downloaded and displayed within iTunes. As a second check, I also deleted the music from my library and re-added it, and the art work is missing again.
Only if I drag the jpg image to the blank artwork window does it seem to "stick".

Yes, if you download album art through iTunes and then later manually add art to the tag, the downloaded version is replaced. I think it still remains in the folder on your computer, but it does get replaced in the native song file. What I'll do is download the artwork from iTunes, then copy it and paste it directly into the tag for a permanent "attachment" to the song.

Capture time is not saved into JPG file! (LR 2.0)

I have this JPG file with no EXIF data whatsoever but I know it's capture time so I went to Metadata » Edit Capture Time and changed the capture time. Now, on Lightroom in the Library module, I can see the capture time there and then I save the metadata with Metadata » Save Metadata to File. However, when I check the file on Windows Explorer, the capture time (or date taken as named by Windows) is not specified at all.
Why isn't the "Save Metadata do File" working correctly?

I don't have that box checked but it shouldn't matter because I'm not talking about exporting new files to update the metadata. I'm talking about updating the files metadata within the files that are already added to the library.

AI CS3 Plugin: When I close the Illustrator application, it's not saving the unsaved file.

OS: Windows XP
I've an AI plug-in which defines its own file format, with .ai extension itself. In the VC++ code of the plugin, I spawn .jsx file to do the validation (if it's out of the artboard, illegal font and so on). Using the plug-in, every other functionality is working fine except for one thing, i.e., while closing the application. When I try to close the application, it gives a prompt asking if you want to save the unsaved .ai file( Yes, No and Cancel Prompt). If I click on Yes, it should actually save the file and then exit. Here, since validation is done using a different file (.jsx file), it calls that file only after exiting the vc++ code. While closing the application, the file is getting called in vc++ code, but it happens only after exiting vc++ code, so there is no process to handle that file since I'm closing the Illustrator itself. It exits by throwing an exception- unable to read the particular location. Would anyone please tell me how to deal with this?

Hmmm, where exactly *IS* the focus in your tests after
closing the RoboHelp generated .CHM file? I just tested and saw the
same behavior regardless of whether it was a Microsoft .CHM or a
RoboHelp HTML created .CHM. Each time, the focus was returned to
Windows Explorer.
I do know that the manner in which your developers open a
.CHM can vary. For example, your developer can specify that a
particular tab have focus, such as the Index or TOC, while simply
double-clicking will result in the last opened tab being the active
tab.
Wish I had more to offer here, but I'm not seeing the same
behavior as you are. I do know there are some extended settings for
your window, but I'm doubtful that's the answer here.
Also, I'm not too sure how much stock I'd put in something a
Microsoft call center stated. Just the nature of call centers. Some
folks that staff them are good and skilled, some are a bit, shall
we say, lacking. This is truly "Luck of the draw".

Changes are not saved in Exported file

I am using the trial version of Lightroom 5. When I do a Lens Correction and then export the file, the new file is the same as the original before my corrections when I open it in Photoshop or another program. Help!

Lr & Photoshop both have the potential to use tiny (xmp) files for storing changes (and never save any other files), and both can save/export big honkin' tiffs, or like-sized jpegs...
If you save files in Photoshop with layers and such stuff, the files can get pretty big.
So, to answer your question: "It depends..." - which files, how saved/exported...
Try some stuff and inspect the file sizes!

My Word docs are NOT saving as PDF files.

I go to "File, Print, PDF, Save as PDF, save doc to my desktop, click Save"...it "processes" then chimes alerting me it's completed, but the PDF is NO WHERE on my desktop (or anywhere on my laptop for that matter!!)
The interesting thing about this problem ONLY happens when I CREATE that particular Word document. If someone emails me a Word doc and I download it and then open it up in Word, I am then ABLE to save it as a PDF. Soo, I tried emailing the file I created to myself...downloaded it, and tried to save as a PDF, same thing happens as before....no where to be found.

Okay - could be a bad file or a document with a goofy format, size, or table of contents snafu.
I had issues with Acrobat 9.x with Word 2010 (Windows). I stopped using Acrobat and just started doing what you're doing - saving direct from Word > PDF - and haven't had an issue since (other than bloated file sizes even saving as "minimum").
So my advice is to look at your document. It could be a TOC thing, or a large image, or something else messing up the engine.
Remember, Office 2007, 2010, and 2011 all save DOCX as XML files. So the "converter" (save-as-PDF) is rendering XML > PDF.
