  • Crystral reports viewer activex control 11.5 - export to pdf - misaligned

    good morning
i have been advised to post here for a better response
i have a slight issue im trying to get an answer for with crystral reports viewer activex control 11.5
when exporting data from the report on screen to pdf, everything is mostly ok except for some lines which are not correctly aligned with everything else
when i do a print instead to software such as primopdf, the alignment is fine, its exactly as it looks on the onscreen report, howeverm primopdf is unable to print the whole report due to a control error & it also takes far too long exporting the data out of crystal reports
obviously, getting the activex control export to pdf working is the preferred option, else why bother using it
has anyone else had similar issues & what did you do to resolve?
i wouldnt be suprised if the answer is simply to update to the latest version

Well, perhaps not the latest version, but certainly the latest Service Pack would be the place to start. For CR XI r2 (11.5), the latest SP can be downloaded from here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
If that does not help, have a look at [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d3639373635463644364636343635334433393339333832363639373635463733363137303645364637343635373335] kbase.
Now, the above was created for CR 10.2, so the registry for CR XI r2 is:
    HKLMsoftware usiness objectssuite 11.5crystal reports.
You may have to create the "Export" folder and PDF folder so that this looks as:
    HKLMsoftware usiness objectssuite 11.5crystal reportsexportpdf
Now, Right-click the pdf sub key and click New > DWORD Value. Name the DWORD value "ForceLargerFonts" and set it to the value of 1.
Restart IIS, and try the application again.
If this does not help, let me know if this is a web or a win app.

Just to get the terminology correct. I believe you are meaning the Group Tree(?).
    Vb Code:
    CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.DisplayGroupTree = False.
    Also, do consult the developer help file;

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
    Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

    Hello,
CR 10 is not supported in IE7. It may work if you use the Legacy mode in IE7. Also check your pop-up blocker and allow ActiveX controls to be installed.

  • Printing Extremely Slow Using Crystal Reports 2008 ActiveX Print Control

    Problem:
We are trying to upgrade our existing Crystal Reports 10.0 ActiveX Viewer ASP based reports to the new Crystal Reports 2008 ASPX Report Viewer but are having print performance issues that have prohibited us from moving forward.
    Environment:
Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition 32-bit with SP1
IIS 6.0 running ASP .NET version 2.0.50727
    Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 with FP1
Crystal PrintControl.dll version 12.0.0.796 (verified on server and client)
    Details:
Crystal Reports 2008 ASPX Report Viewer Object & ActiveX Print Control Report Printing Scenario
From a typical 27 page report, the user clicks the Print icon from the ASPX Report Viewer Object.
The Print window with the message Crystal Reports Print Control immediately appears on the screen.  This window is on the screen for approx 30 seconds.
The Print Setup window finally appears on the screen.  The user verifies the printer, chooses to print pages 1-5, and clicks the Print button from the window.
The Retrieving page 1 message appears in the Print window.  The message remains in the window for approx 30 seconds.
The Printing page 1 message appears in the Print window.  The message remains in the window for approx 30 seconds.
The Printing page 2 message appears in the Print window.  The message remains in the window for approx 30 seconds.
The Printing page 3 message appears in the Print window.  The message remains in the window for approx 30 seconds.
The Printing page 4 message appears in the Print window.  The message remains in the window for approx 30 seconds.
The Printing page 5 message appears in the Print window.  The message is in the window for less than 1 second.
After 3 MINUTES of waiting the report finally starts printing.
Crystal Reports 10 ASP ActiveX Report Viewer Report Printing Scenario
From the same typical 27 page report that was used in the Crystal Reports 2008 scenario, the user clicks the Print icon from the ASP ActiveX Report Viewer.
The Print window Immediately appears on the screen.  The user verifies the printer, chooses to print pages 1-5, and clicks the Print button from the window.
The Print window Immediately disappears from the screen and the report Immediately starts printing.
The entire print process takes only 3 u2013 4 SECONDS.
Even  though we are trying to get the users to decrease the amount of paper used in report printing.  They still do a significant amount of printing.  The difference between the print performance using Crystal Reports 10 (3-4 seconds) and Crystal Reports 2008 (3 minutes) is totally unacceptable to our users.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a known fix for it?  This is the only thing holding us back from our upgrade and it has become very frustrating to us.
Much thanks to anyone that can shed some light on this.

    Hi Brian,
Please have a look at [this|Crystal 11.5 Activex control for viewer; post.
However, have you tried with the No Printer options available in Print Options window from designer?

  • Urgent! Web browser ActiveX control size messed up.

    Please help.
The program was compiled in LV7. I use the web browser control to display some html file. Initially I set the size to fit 1024x768 screen. But the customer use the size 800x600 to install the program. after he reset the screen size to 1024x768, the web browser control size is larger than supposed to be. The OS customer uses is Windows 98. IE5.5. My compile environment is LV7.0, OS WinXP, IE6.
I asked the customer to reinstall the program under 1024x768, but the size of control is still larger. Please indicate what the problem could be.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello inhaler,
Thank you for your question regarding ActiveX controls. You mentioned that the size of an ActiveX web browser control is not correct when viewed on another machine. It sounds like the application was installed with 800x600 resolution and even after changing the resolution to 1024x768, the size of the control is still too large. I tried to recreate the problem by building an executable in LV 7 (Windows XP, IE6) with an ActiveX web browser control and then run the executable on a Windows 98SE (IE5) machine with 800x600 resolution. The browser was large but this was expected with this resolution setting. After changing the resolution to 1024x768 the browser window seems to be sized the same as the window on the XP machine. In short I wasnt able to rec
reate the problem youre having. Could you provide a simplified executable that demonstrates the issue and attach it in a response? I have access to a 98 machine so that I can test the problem that youve encountered.
I look forward to hearing from you!

  • ActiveX controls not downloaded when using Internet Explorer 10

We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organization is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using ActiveX controls are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
We looked for the various workarounds but we did not find any.
Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
    <div id="x_x_imcontent"> <div style="font-size: 9pt; direction: ltr;">"ActiveX
control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features.  Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."</div>
    </div>
We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.

    Hi,
Please post your ActiveX feature testing scripts to the IE Web Developer forum.
    (f12>Debug tab, search for ActiveX.... you should be able to find code blocks where you are feature testing for your ActiveX controls eg var ourcontrol=new ActiveX('foobar');
these code blocks will be the origin of the error messages that are injected into the page. (you can also search for where the "ActiveX control failed to load" string is in your code.)
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=iewebdevelopment
IE10 has ActiveX filtering.... a blue circle with a line through it appears in the Address bar if any ActiveX content is blocked by Tools>ActiveX filtering.
IE10 has Enhanced protected Mode turned on by default in the Internet and Restricted Zones. I assume that you are mapping your test domain to the Intranet zone (where EPM is turned off by default and x32 bit controls are used.... if not you should see information
bars asking for permission to run the 32bit activeX controls)
Ensure you are using the Default IE security settings, (and also that you have applied the new admx files to your GPO and GPEdit control panels....)
Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Ensure your test environment maps to the Intranet Zone (File>Properties) and that Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off for that zone (Security tab of Internet Options)
Ensure that your ActiveX controls are enabled (Tools>Manage Addons>Show all Addons) and that they have the correct permissions..... find them in the Addons manager and then click the item in the list to display their properties and permissions... at
the bottom of the Addons Properties there is a textarea with "You have approved this addon to run in the follow websites"... you testing and production domains should be listed.
For the best solutions/answers you should probably open a support ticket at support.microsoft.com so a support engineer can access your testing environment and do some tests.
    Regards.

  • Integrating custom ActiveX control with SapGUI

    Hi everybody
I'm in the process of writing a custom MFC based ActiveX control written in C++ that we want to use in a product. I am currently at the point where I can instantiate the control and interact with the various methods that it exposes but I have a problem integrating the control more tightly with the SapGUI e.g. change of colors, fonts etc.
I want to make the control to reflect the user changes when the user modifies any settings of the SapGUI. I've tried catching various events that are exposed by some of the dictionary classes such as cl_gui_props_consumer=>color_change/global_prop_change and cl_gui_resources=>resources_changed but these events only fire in my control once the PAI of the client program that encapsulates the control fires which is hardly appropriate since it means that the control will have to wait for user input before it will change reflect any changes in user settings.
I've written a test program for my control and when I change my SapGUI colors the rest of the controls etc on the screen do change color but my control only change color once I've performed some action that fires the PAI. Personally I think the controls written by SAP intergrates with the SapGUI through some interface that is called behind the scenes by the SapGUI since the GUI will have some way of knowing the set of ActiveX controls instantiated inside it  and I cannot find any event in the ABAP controls framework (e.g. CL_GUI_OBJECT, CL_GUI_CONTROL) that will allow this type of integration. I'll be digging for the answer but any suggestions will by greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any help.
    Kind regards
    Ettienne Hugo

    Hello Ettienne Hugo,
To get the SAP GUI Theme or font changes events you need to add your MFC application or ActiveX MFC dll into u201CSAP Configuration->Application Tab->Addu201D and u need to call the functions SapHookInit and to stop getting the change events u need to call SapHookExit.(sapfhook.dll provides these functions)
I tried with exe, never tried with ActiveX MFC dll/ocx. With EXE it works.
    Thanks and Regards,

well you will have to configure a default mail client on your machine. you can do this by going to control panel->mail in windows os.
you might also need a .dll file mapi*.dll something. you will need this .dll file in your client machine.
    best of luck

  • Video not showing in WMP ActiveX control

Trying to play an MP4 in Windows Media Player and I get a black control and WMP acts as if it is playing.  The MP4 does not have audio but other posts have suggested this is not affected by this issue.  I have tried all of the various solutions from other posts (converting to WMV, tuning off acceleration, ensuring WMP and refnums are closed properly) and nothing seems to work.
I've been able to get the video to work at times, but after it starts to flake out (black) it never seems to recover.  If I recreate the container it always works for at least one play.  It does not matter if I allow it to play all the way to the end or click on the control (and stop it via the event case) -- the error can occur either way.
At times I have recieved an error (-2147417846) but this does not seem to be required in order to get the no-video effect (effect happens w/ or w/o the error).  I have not been able to track down details on the error but the 750ms delay seems to help with respect to occurence rate.
When I get the black control, the background shows various other video effects both inside and outside of the ActiveX container.  See the "while_running.png" attachment.  After I stop the VI, the screen looks as in "after_stopping.png".  The "after stopping" look persists until I move the screen (and thereby force a redraw) even a little.
I do not recall installing any special CODECs, etc. and the videos all work fine repeatedely in stand-alone WMP.

@Norbert - your callback approach allowed the video to play repeatedly on both test machines, however...  Once you had me apparently past that hurdle I tried to figure out a way to keep the activeX control from resizing (autozoom to video files native size).  I searched through all prop and methods and tried everything I could think of but could not figure it out.  Fine, failing that, I tried to set the window size based on the resulting autosized activeX container with the WMP controls cropped ooutside the front panel window.  That broke the second playing of the video again.
@Dan - thanks for continuing to look at this.  From my perspective, it feels like the bit that gets corrupted (or set-but-then-not-unset-on-exit-of-first-video) has to do with zoom/scaling or aspect ratio, if that helps.
Trying to make progress, and not finding any exposed WMP props for setting the player size in the ActiveX container, I tried loading the WMP inside a web page inside an ActiveX container per http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4540.  This gets me around the uncontrollable autosizing of the original VI (now cotrolled by the HTML layer) and also the no-video issue but introduces a new one -- clicking "stop" on the second-played video often results in a bad refnum passed to the "click" invoke inside the "stop" event case.  The VI stops but the video/audio keep going.   I thought it might be a reload-from-cache effect so I modified the "modifyHTML" subVI to save to a unique temp html file evey time and pass that path (as string) to the URL property in WMPBrowser -- no effect.
