Report using narrative to filter another report

I am trying to build a report that will be embedded in the campaign object. I want the report to display the campaign recipients for the campaign record, using detailed inforamtion from the contact record.
I have built a report that contains the relevant contact data that needs to be displayed.
I have built a second report that will be embedded in the campaign record that has a column displaying the contact id of the campaign recipients. The report will have a filter for campaign id 'is prompted' but for testing I have hard coded a campaign id with a total of 469 campaign recipients.
I have included a narrative in the layout. The report correctly displays, however the prompt does not seem to work. All contacts are included in the report, rather than the 469 contacts limited by the campaign ID filter.
The narrative I have used is

Earlier attempts I included a contact id is prompted filter on the report included in the narrative, however that brings back one value only. I can change the rows to display to 5 for example, however it gives me 5 contacts in separate reports rather than a list report.
Any help would be great.

Hello Mel,
My understanding is that you are trying to display the contact and their details for the particular campaign. Since these details are not available in the Campaign Subject Area you are using the narrative view.
I would suggest you can use the Contact Subject area to populate the campaign id and campaign name along with the Contact details and embed this report in the Campaign page by prompting the Campaign Id.
Let me know if this works else please explain the requirement once again and I would be able to help you.

Right click on structure and choose remove reference. Then you can add new fields, and this structure is local.

Custom Formatting using narratives

Hi,
I am tying to create a report that will display a "quote" based on data from an opportunity. I am using narrative sections that contain custom HTML to handle the layout of the report.
This method works fine when viewing the report on line but if i try to print as PDF all the HTML formatting, including my table structure disappears and the text is just displayed as one long string?
Does anybody know if i can retain my formatting when printing narrative sections to PDF? or do i need to try the "PDF print driver" approach suggested in another thread on this forum?

To date this is considered a product limitation. I just talked with an escalation manager and he offered to bring this up with the product managers/engineers tomorrow 5/15/09. I recommend escalating this issue and asking your escalation manager to do the same.

Dashboard Prompt (All Choices) using Narrative View

Using Narrative View I can display LOVs of Prompt but when the (All Choices) selected, how to display using Narrative View?

In Your criteria Create a column with foruma like the below
CASE WHEN '@{psitename}{All}' = '' THEN 'ALL' else '@{psitename}{All}' end
And now in your narrative of the report, Add @2 if the above column is in second place of criteria. Add this narrative in you compound layout. Hide the column if you dont want show it in table view.
This code works in 3 cases.
1. If variable is null then it shows default value - All
2. If variable is selected to all choices then it shows ALL
3. If you select any site, that shows site name.

Problem in displaying multiple column values using Narrative View

Hi All,
I have a requirement where in I need to display column 1 of an Answers report as a header and all values of column 2 below tht.
There are multiple values from column 2 for every value in column 1
Example:
Group:
Grp (This is column 1)
Activity:
Act1
Act2
Act3 (These are values from column 2)
I have used narrative view for this which looks like:
Group: @1
Activity:@2[br/]
But this displays the value of column1 along with every value of column 2. I want column 1 value to be displayed only once.

User Input Variable used not as Filter

Hi Experts,
I need some advice. I have a requirement to input a date value to use for calculation but do not want to filter the data based on the variable. Is there a way to hold this variable value without using it to filter the query results?
For example, the report will ask a user to input a date in the future, however I do not want to query my results based on this future date.
Please advise.

I was hoping there was some functionality or option to do this without adding an additional char to my infoprovider.
Is there a way to use the Key Date of the query as a replacement value for my key figure? I applied a variable on the Key Date and the input didn't affect the query results, however I wasn't able to select the Key Date as a replacement value.
Any advice on this?

Point by Point p-th order derivative using Savitzky Golay filter coefficients

I am trying to implement a Point by Point p-th order derivative using Savitzky Golay filter coefficients. The point by point available in LV doesn't use the Differential Filter coefficients. I tried converting it so it could but it didn't differentiate for me, it just gave hte original signal (probably smoothed). Refer to my attachment. So I then took a look at another method partly documented in the NI help file.
In prior posts Damien (DFGray) has described the Savitzky Golay derivative filter as"essentially a convolution filter". The latest LV help file example shows this by using the dot product to calculate the p'th order derivative using such a filter. So my plan now is to convert that NI help example below (from here) into a point by point version (sorry no LV code existed that I could find, just a pic). Before I try this out, will this work with just one shift register or do I need a shift register history that is 2k+1 deep ?

I replied a tad too soon. I discovered that the amplitude output from the derivative had been scaled down by (100/2xPI) for some reason I don't understand, so I updated both the test harness and the point by point vi and attached them.
I added a sine wave input for one test signal and my example volume input (without the glitches I'm trying to remove though) for another test signal. Both derivative outputs show discontinuities at the input as expected, additionally each are delayed by the number of Side Points (currently constants on the BD)
BTW, thanks for adding in the dx/dt text into the icon, I was going to but was too lazy !!

If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

That's exactly what I tried to do, but the iPhoto librry doesn't show up in the pulldown menu. If I click "Choose Folder", the iPhoto library is greyed out and unable to be selected.
For some reason, iPhoto is an option in the pulldown library on my older iMac but not on my MacBook Pro. What gives?

Leave the switch in Layer 2 mode
Cable VLAN2 to the to the outside router gateway 192.168.2.254 interface
cable VLAN3 to the to the outside router gateway 192.168.3.254 interface
Excuse the rough diagram
Make the port going to the outside router gateway, untagged in the vlans they will be transporting. (I am assuming that the router gateway is not vlan aware.)
IP hosts will most likely get DHCP from the router gateway. The IP hosts will then automatically send IP traffic to the router gateway.
VLAN 1 in my switch, could then be the only interface within the switch that has a IP address associated with it, for management purposes.

I've got problem with opening a file in InDesign. The file type is an InDesign Markup Document. The error message is: Either the file does not exist, you do not have read access to it, or use the file in another application. What's wrong?

File Error: The Specified file is open and in use by this or another app...

I have imported a string of pictures and dragged them into the FCP timeline. I render them and it renders a certain percentage then it stops and says "File Error: The Specified file is open and in use by this or another application."
After reading this, I quit out of FCP, restarted my computer, opened FCP, nothing other program, tried to render again and same thing happened. It renders part of it then the error message pops up, then I can render again and it will do another percent then it will pop again and so on.
Suggestions, or does anyone know why this happened? Thank you very much for your time.

okay - don't know where you've got your scratch disc set but hopefully it's to another drive other than your boot.
The same drive where your render files should be located, ie some drive other than your boot drive.
Can you copy the jpegs over to that drive into a folder.
Delete them from your tl, delete them from your proj. Save your project. Close fcp.
If they're on your boot drive - delete them.
Reopen fcp and Reimport them from the new location.
Sorry for all the steps - but we have no idea how you have configured fcp or your level of experience. Trying to cover all the bases ...

"Protect filter" basically "hard-codes" a filter so that it won't be overwritten.
Say you want to always filter a column for "X," but also want to include a value from a dashboard prompt. So you write the following:
table.column = 'X'
or
table.column "Is prompted"
The user chooses the value "Y" from the prompt and the filters now look like this:
table.column = 'Y'
or
table.column = 'Y'
Gone is the "X" value because it was overwritten by the prompt. If you protect the top filter, you will get:
table.column = 'X'
or
table.column = 'Y'
