Reporting on a Hierarchy

I want to create a query on a hierachy and filter based on that Hierarchy.
I want to include a specific node of that hierachy and then exclude a lower level node of the one I've just added. But I still want to include the lower level node I've just excluded but seperate from it's parent node.
The example I have is reporting on Data for an org unit. In this case for our Childrens Services org unit. I want to report on Childrens Services but exclude one of it's child nodes Schools. I then want in the same query to seperately report on Schools - the child node.
I want it to look something like this:
                                      Amount
Childrens Services...........10.......
Schools..........................5.........
In the example the amount for Childrens Services does not include a value for Schools even though this is an org unit that is a sub node (e.g. part of) of Childrens Services.
Any ideas?

Hello
I think you should maybe try this. Create a structure.
Select the top node (parent) and then select the child you want to exclude and right click to exclude from selection.
Then you make another selection and choose this time the child previously excluded.
Hope this helps.

  • Error in report for activated hierarchy

    Hello Experts,
I have following problem in my report:
I have created 1 hierarchy for 0cust_sales infoobject other than Standard hierarchy.to get this hierarchy in place have done following steps:
created authorization object with 0cust_Sales + Authorization for hierarchy infoobject 0TCTAUTHH and actiavted it in required data target.
created authorization value for above hierarchy and maintained in the user role.
then created 1 report where hierarchy for 0cust_Sales is active and 1 authorization variable has been created for that hierarchy and restricted 0cust_Sales.
in my data target already 1authorization object is active which is based on 0sales_off.
in my report where I have assigned 0cust_Sales hierarchy, 0sales_off hierarchy is also maintained.
Problem comes when am executing the report where 0cust_sales hierarchy is not active with message - NO MASTER MAINTAINED FOR 0CUST_SALES HIERARCHY.
My problem is, I want 0cust_sales hierarchy only in 1 report but as auth object of 0cust_Sales is active on data target, error comes whenever report NOT CONTAINING 0CUST_SALES hierarchy is executed.
How to deal with the situation where hierarchy required only for 1 report..please guide me

Thanks Ingo. We are going to open the case.
Do we need to pull consistent detail objects of all the13 levels in the hierarchy to the WebI query ?
For Example, I have pulled all 13 level dimension objects (Blue), Org unit Key (Detail Green Object) for only L03,L04 and Org Unit Medium Name  (Detail Green Object) for L08,L09.
Do I need to pull all 13 dimension (Blue Object), all 13 Org Unit Key and all 13 Org Unit Medium Name? I mean do we need to select consistent detail objects consistent across the levels?
    Thanks

  • Reporting by org hierarchy with drill down by each level of reports to...

    Hello,
I'm trying to determine how to aggregate reporting by org hierarchy. Utlimately to report on opportunities at the highest level (CEO; all opportunities below CEO) then a second drill down report that shows summary by Level 2 (all those who report to the CEO), then again by Level 3 drill down which would be those who report to somone in Level 2. In all instances I want the report to show all records that ultimately roll up to that level (thus include direct reports alll of their direct and indirect reports )
    Level 1
    CEO $10,000,000 200 Optys
    Level 2
    Sales Leader 1 $ 3,000,000
    Sales Leader 2 $ 2,000,000
    Sales Leader 3 $ 1,500,000
    Sales Leader 4 $ 3,500,000
    Level 3
<ul><li>- rollup of all that report to Sales Leader 1 (and so on) aggregated by first level of direct reports ($3,000,000)
         Sales Mgr 1.1 $ 1,000,000
         Sales Mgr 1.2 $ 500,000
         Sales Mgr 1.3 $ 750,000
         Sales Mgr 1.4 $ 250,000</li>
    </ul>
I'd appreicate any help you can send my way.
    Thanks, Aaron

    Hi Aaron,
I have come across this and found that using the "Reports To" hierarchy and "Territory Team" hierarchy are not sufficient. I implemented this as a solution for one of our clients and it works very well:
I have modified the user entity and renamed 4 standard fields:
    •     Business Unit renamed to "Primary Line of Business"
    •     Business Unit Level 1 renamed to "BU Group"
    •     Business Unit Level 2 renamed to "Business Unit"
    •     Business Unit Level 3renamed to "Team"
Not all fields go through into analytics so I had to use these fields which are available in the Opportunity-Product History subject area. The downside is that they have to be text boxes so restrict access to who can populate these. From this you can get 4 hierarchy levels and drill from one to the next. The record owner then becomes the lowest level in your report and it can look something like this:
    Level 1
    Primary Line of Business
    Level 2
    BU Group
    BU Group
    Level 3
    Business Unit
    Business Unit
    Business Unit
    Level 4
    Team
    Team
    Team
    Team
    Level 5
    Sales Person 1
    Sales Person 2
    Sales Person 3
    Sales Person 4
    Sales Person 5
Obviously it would appear side by side in the report..
    Thanks

  • Report with custom hierarchy

    Hi experts!
I have an assignment to do.
My clients wants a report with a hierarchy but he wants to see "Total" on last row of a table.
    My hierarchy is:
    +Total
    ---Level1
    ---Level2
    -----Level2.1
    My analysis should to see:
    LevelA1 (Can Drill)
    LevelA2 (Can Drill)
    Level 2.1 (Can Drill)
    Total (No Drill)
    In selection steps pane:
    1. Start with all members
    2. Then, Keep all members of: LevelA levels
I think that I have another step to show TOTAL and no drill
    Is that possible???

    Yes we can do this:?
Create a hierarchy accordingly and go to col properties there u have a interaction option check the drill option accordingly for what all columns u need a drill down keep that.Do and let me know for any updates
If helps mark as correct :)

  • Reporting on Alternate Hierarchy master data (HR-BW)  thru DSO object

I have a quick question. I would appreciate if you know of any direction to approach this.
We have a hierarchy in a external system that we want to bring into BW as alternate hierarchies. The hier nodes are a bunch of leagacy hierarchies and the leaves will be 0COSTCENTER (R/3 values). After loading this hierarchy in BW, we need to manipulate and add 0POSITIONS to the 0COSTENTER hierarchies from R3 and store this back as another hierarchy (with 0POSITION as leaves below 0COSTCENTER). Now we need to report on this hierarchy and get stats like # vacant position, occupied position, etc.
Have you seen anybody doing this kind of manipulation, reading hierarchy data into DSO object, reporting, etc?
    Any idea will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi,
To provide you with further information
i need the following data in my BW report
    HRP1000 - OBJID, OTYPE, STEXTBEGDA
    HRP1007-STATUS
    HRP1011-SOBID, RELAT
    HRP1005-TRFGL
    PA0002 –NACHN, VORNA
<b>PA0007 - WOSTD ( Number of hours per week)
HRP1011 - MOVAG (Number of hours per month)</b>
Some one in HR Fourms told me that these tables are master data tables and i am reporting on master data
So Anil,Quick question if the data i need is master data can i use the cube u suggested
    Please update me on this

  • Report using GL Hierarchy directly from a cube in crystal reports

    Hi,
I am trying to build a crystal report showing GL account hierarchy ( a P n L report). When I am trying to source this field from the BW cube directly its not showing up on the report preview at all.
I built something similar with hierarchy using a Bex query which worked fine. I am curious what it is that could possibly be missing here.
Let me know if you need more information from me to explain the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Varun

    Hi,
when you use the BW query you should have the hierarchy in Crystal Reports.
When you connect to the cube directly you should see all the hierarchies from the cube.
    take a look here:

  • Sales report per Customer Hierarchy

    Hello
We manage the credit of some customers by Customers Hierarchy, this is, we assign the credit limit to the main customer, and then, that credit could be used by the dependent nodes.
Does anyone know if there is a report where we could check the sales per main customer, that includes the sales of the dependent nodes?
    Thank you in advance

    Enrique
Can you not see it in the field 'Credit exposure' for the main customer in transaction FD33?
You should get the cumulative exposure there.
If not use VA05 or VA05n and create a variant for each hierarchy with all the customers and get a full listing with total sales.
or you can use SIS to perform Standard Analysis for customer ( T code MCTA) and create a variant here again with all the customers in a hierarchy.
    Does it work?

  • P&L Report-Account Group Hierarchy -Position of lower nodes above

I define P&L Statement hierarchy in ERP using  T Code: KDH2 (account group). The reason why  I don't use standard financial statement version is because it can't include cost object /cost element in the hierarchy.
Then I designed a query using Bex Query designer. In row item "account number", I tagged the accoung group as hierarchy and select "position of Lower-level Nodes": above
However, in crystal report, when I recall the database, it is displayed as "higher nodes above." e.g. cost of sales include lower nodes of Material cost and labor cost, it display in Crystal report as:
    Cost of Sales                                5000
                  Material Cost                        3000
                  Labor Cost                           2000
I want it to display as "lower nodes above":
                 Material Cost                        3000
                 Labor Cost                           2000
    Cost of Sales                                5000
I have tried in crystal report desinger- -change group option- sort in original order, in asending, in desending , it doesn't work as "lower node above". (i have to group the account ID)
I don't want to use "sort in specific order" in group option because if it is hard coded, it doesnt faciliate future changes if user changes account group hierarchy in SAP ERP KDH2 (account group).
To sum up, is there anyone can tell me how to show the hierarchy in Crystal Report as "lower node above"?
    Regards,
    Frances

I find the solution by myselr: just put the account code in crystal report group footer rather than the group header, it will show lower nodes above as
    Material cost 2000
    Labor cost 3000
    Cost of Sales 5000

  • Report for Partnership hierarchy

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to show the partners of a partner into a report. I'm able to show for each Account name which are the names of the partners for that account, I'm interested to reiterate such information in order to have the partnership hierarchy into a report. Is it feasible?
    Thank you
    Ivano

I opened a SR to Oracle Support, here below the official answer:
"It is not possible to build a report this way. At max you can have only two level of hierarchy in reports like Account and its child."

  • Report for equipment hierarchy using IH03

In IH03 what is the significance of the fields display as graphic and Bom Application and Bom group?
Edited by: Pallavi Kakoti on Jul 19, 2011 8:43 AM

Click "As Graphic" if you want to display equipment in graphical hierarchy.
BOM Application is used to display BOMs  of specific application area in the equipment hierarchy report .If you choose "INST" as BOM application then only plant maintenance BOMs will be display in the equipment hierarchy,
BOMs can be defined for different application areas like plant maintenance ,production, costing etc

  • BEx Analyzer: How to optimize reporting over a hierarchy?

    Hello there,
using BEx Analyzer & Excel, we're reporting over a large hierarchy of cost centers, beginning at the top level and then looping over 166 different cost centers in that hierarchy.
Looping works from within a macro, calling the SAPBEXSetFilterValue for the corresponding query.
Reporting takes about 5 hours at the moment. Is there any way to speed up the calculation after setting the cost center as a filter value? Example: we need to report the top level node anyway, so the query needs to calculate over all hierarchy nodes. What happens to the results of the lower level nodes? Are they just dropped and calculated again later when the cost center of that lower level node is set as filter value? It would be a good thing if BW could cache these results so that it just needs to download them when needed later instead of calculating again.
Any idea? I don't now very much of BW concerning that point, so any hint is very welcome. Our release is BW 3.1.
We already tried RSRT but all we could do is to set the behaviour in case of query navigation. I'm not quite sure if this covers the case we want (setting the new filter value). At least, execution of that report still takes about 5 hours.
    Thank you very much.

    Andreas,
    Create Aggregates on Hierarchy level.
    Use Read mode H.
    Make use of OLAP CACHE.
    Have a look at RSRCACHE.

  • Group matrix report with an hierarchy table???

    Hello,
I have a big trouble making up a report involving many tables and one of them having a many-to-many recursive relationship. The user has a defined request in having the information grouped.I'll give some more details. I would like to know if you have any ideas in how to structure the report..
    Here are the tables:
    ORG
    (org_id not null,
    org_name not null)
    DNR
    (dnr_id not null,
    org_id not null,
    dnr_age,
    dnr_gender)
    CS
    (cs_id not null,
    dnr_id not null)
    Smpl
    (smpl_id not null,
    dnr_id notnull,
    org_id,
    smpl_tp not null,
    cs_id,
    meth,
    notes)
    Tr_map
    (tr_id not null,
    smpl_prnt not null,
    smpl_chld,
    pos)
    Some data..
    Smpl_id Dnr_id Org_id Smpl_tp Cs_id Meth Notes
    107 101 137 tss a xxxx
    118 112 137 tss ab xxxx
    122 108 25 tss 3768 a xxxx
    123 108 25 tss 3768 ab xxxx
    124 108 25 blk c yyyy
    125 108 25 sld d zzzz
    126 108 25 blk c yyyy
    tr_id Smpl_prnt Smpl_chld Pos
    1 107
    2 118
    3 122
    4 123
    5 124 122 1
    7 125 124 1
    8 126 122 1
    10 125 126 2
The user wants the data reported as follows:
    Org name
    Dnr_id, dnr_age etc...
    Cs_id
    Smpl_id, Smpl_tp (tss), Meth, Notes
    Smpl_id,smpl_tp(blk), Meth, Notes ...
    Smpl_id, smpl_tp(sld), Meth, Notes...
    Cs_id
    Smpl_id, Smpl_tp (tss), Meth, Notes
    Smpl_id, smpl_tp(blk), Meth,Notes...
    Smpl_id, smpl_tp(sld), Meth, Notes...
I think the grouped matrix would be the solution but I don't know how to do that with the hierarchy table to show the children and grandchildren as subgroups. Is that possible in a single query? How can I build a group matrix with multiple subgroups?
    Thanks in advance.
    simona
    null

The example given by Oracle (from the above link) using the following SQL for a matrix report is flawed.
    SELECT DEPTNO, JOB, SUM(SAL)
    FROM EMP
    GROUP BY DEPTNO, JOB
    ORDER BY DEPTNO, JOB
The SUM function handled by the query restricts you from doing so many things - especially when you want the empty fields to be filled by 0 (by using the Value if Null property).
If the query is changed to ''SELECT DEPTNO, JOB, SAL FROM EMP' , and use the SUM function in the wizard to build the Matrix cell, then the 'Value if Null' property can be used without any issues.
This also makes Section 25.6 (Add zeroes in place of blanks) of the documentation a joke.
    Anyway, that's my cents worth....

  • COPA Report with Characterstics Hierarchy

    Hi Guys
I have created Characteristics Hierarchy in KES3 for Customer Hierarchy, Merchandise Hierarchy and Profit Center
When iam writing a report using KE91, the system should populate the hierarchy what has been maintained in KES3
But in my case, in KE91 iam not getting any hierarchy for what has been maintained in KES3. Do we have any activation for the hierarchy what has been maintained KES3
    Thanks
    Bala

    Hi,
Actually the scenario is we alredy have a report in use created out of COPA reporting. We added a new profit center and updated the same in KES3. however it is not appearing on the report now.
Do you have any inputs on such scenario..?
