Reporting Services Compiler Error

Hi All,
I'm trying to run a report in MRS that I've created and get the following when I debug or try to
run the report:
Error 1 [rsUnexpectedCompilerError] An unexpected error occurred while compiling expressions. Native compiler return value: ‘[BC42206] Maximum number of warnings has been exceeded.’ I checked the "warnings" tab and there are none
doesn't it figure?
Any ideas would be welcome.
Already looking toward the weekend,
>scott

I just blogged on this very subject.
http://bidn.com/blogs/MMilligan/bidn-blog/2788/ssrs-gotcha-bc-42206-maximum-number-of-warnings-has-been-exceeded
After a lot of trial and error and poking around I finally noticed that there were a lot of duplicated textbox names.  For example, one textbox was name "textbox1234" and another one was named "Textbox1234"  The only difference
was the uppercase vs. lowercase t.  Fixing a number of these finally got the report running again.  Anyway, hope this post helps someone else out as I can only assume you have moved on since 2007.

Hi MMiligan,
I am not sure, if you would ever come here to take a look.I am in the exact same situation since past few days i.e removing a single textbox make the whole report compile without problem. And the bummer,  clueless ghost warnings notification but no sign
of them anywhere.I looked into .RDL file code and couldn't find out anything.I am actually interested to know, how were you able to find out the casing differences.I have got a super huge file with 1600+ text boxes in them and it is literally impossible
to find the casing differences.Any ideas ? Thoughts ?
I can be reached at msheikh at ualberta dot ca if you can please take a few moments out from your precious time.
Thanks,
BR,

  • Reporting Services 2008 error

    Good morning all,
I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2 reporting services, and I'm having a problem with the report server and manager pages.  I've been able to configure everything in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, and created the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB
databases in my SQL Server instance, but when I try to hit either the Web Service URL or the Report Manager URL, I get a 500 error.  The stack trace is below, with the error lines in bold.  If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    Hi Chris,
From the error messages you posted, the error is caused by the Reporting Services is not able to create the HttpRuntime.
Based on my research, the issue should be caused by the account the Reporting Services is running under does not have sufficient privilege to write files under folder 'RSTempFiles'.
To verify the cause, please check if there is message that resembles the following error message in the Reporting Services error logs:
Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerAppDomainManagerException: An error occurred when attempting to start the application domain ReportManager within the Report Server service. --->
Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerHttpRuntimeInternalException: An internal or system error occurred in the HTTP Runtime object for application domain ReportManager_MSSQLSERVER_0. ---> System.Web.HttpException: The current identity (NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE) does not have write access to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\RSTempFiles\'.
In case we can verify the issue is caused by insufficient privilege to write files to 'RSTempFiles', we can assign the mentioned account (Service Account) the permissions to write files to the folder to solve the issue.
Generally speacking, giving permission to the service account in the folder per log error in reporting services granted access.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Error(Subscription)

I have just deployed a new project on the server and i can successfully run report from the BI Site; [Server Name]\Reports and no issue there. But when i try to create Subscription for the same report; I am trying File Share and it throws error as given

    Hi RP,
For your first issue "cannpt create subscriptions", after analyzing the error logs, it seems to be caused to the service account for the Reporting Services service does not have proper permissions to invoke the WIN32 API.
The SQL Server Reporting Services invokes the Win32 API to impersonate user's permissions to write files to shared folder or call COM+ components.
In this case, we can change the service account to a account has permissions to invoke the Win32 API to solve the issue. For example, we can change the account to be NetworkService or LocalSystem:
     1. Backup the encryption key using Reporting Serivces Configuration Manager.
     2. Change the service account using Reporting Serivces Configuration Manager.
     3. Restore the encryptiong key using Reporting Serivces Configuration Manager.
For your others questions, please see the following inline reply:
--What account should i use for the Deployed Data Source on the Server? A valid SQL Server Account I assume!!!
The account should be a Windows account or the SQL Server account, that has read permissions in the source data base at least.
--What account should i use for the Execution Account (For Unattended Operations) ? A valid Windows Account? or SQL Server account?
The account must be a Windows user account. For best results, choose an account that has read permissions and network logon permissions to support connections to other computers. It must have read permissions on any external image or data file that you
want to use in a report. Do not specify a local account unless all report data sources and external images are stored on the report server computer. Use the account only for unattended report processing.
--What account should i use for the File Share Subscription (Credentials used to access the file share:)? A Valid Windows Account with permission for that folder?
You are right. It must be a Windows account, which has permissions to access and write files to the shared folder.

  • MS SQL Server 2014 Report Services Link error

I have installed SQL Server 2014 with Report builder 3 for 2014 report builder is perfect working, but report services is not working when click on this link "http://microsoft:80/ReportServer" then message is alerted " Reporting
Services error" The permissions granted to user 'Microsoft\MCSD'
are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)and when click on this link "http://microsoft:80/Reports" then message is alerted:
"User 'Microsoft\MCSD' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed."
i am using MCSD account as administrator so how resolve this problem?

    Hi Visio,
I think this issue can be caused by BUILTIN\Administrators might be deleted by someone else. Local Administrators group is equal to BUILTIN\Administrators group on Report Manager. By default, BUILTIN\Administrators user is granted with Content Manger Role.
When someone delete the BUILTIN\Administrators group in the Folder Settings, Local Administrators group cannot access report manager and report server any more.
To fix this issue, please use an account which has access to report server to assign some sufficient permissions to the account “Microsoft\MCSD”.
Another possible is the operating systems limit the overuse of elevated permissions by removing administrator permissions when accessing applications. To fix this issue, please open the Report Manager in Internet Explorer with Run as administrator option.

The account is not the same as the management server, and it does have read access to the data warehouse and reporting databases. Is there some other permission this account needs for reporting services?
    Thanks.

  • APEX Report shows compilation Errors

. I compiled and recompiled the reports many times. There is no problem in compilation. The reports run fine in ORACLE Reports Builder. That tells me that the problem is not with Compilation.
But when I run the report in APEX, it shows the compilation errors - I am attaching the error:
Rep 1247 - there exists uncompiled Program units
    Rep 1247 - Reports contain Uncompiled PL/SQL
Any idea as to why this should happen?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Report running in Report Builder may be referencing report parameters, Program Units in library, etc.

  • SQL Report Service Stopped error

    Hi,
I have problem using BPC and I run the diagnostics in SAP Server Manager. It reported that the SQL Report Service, which is under Computer Services Status, is Stopped.
Then I tried to manually start the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) but I got the following message.
Could not start the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) serivce on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.
    How can this be fixed?
    Thanks!
    Sunny

I assume a reboot of the server didn't work?
Like Joost said, perhaps an incorrect installation.
You can check whether reporting services is working by typing //servname/reports in the URL of a web page.

  • AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension Error - The user or gorup name is not recognized

    Hi,
I am currently installing AX Dynamics 2012 Reporting Service Extension on one of our machine. But this always fails during the installation with this error:
    DynamicsSetupLog
    Our current domain is MWSerp
An error occurred while adding users AxERP\qaproxy, AxERP\qaaos, MWSerp\qaproxy to the SQL Server Reporting Services DynamicsAXBrowser role in the folder dynamicsAX. The error is: The user or group name AxERP\qaproxy is not recognized.
The database was restored from our old Ax Deployment on a different domain - AxERP if you noticed on the error, 2 domains are present: AxERP (old domain) and MWSerp (our existing).
I find it peculiar that it is still adding old accounts from the old domain which is not existent. Tried looking for it on the registry or on the AX Dynamics User account but there are no entries on AxERP\qaaos and AxERP\qaproxy on it.
Do you have any clue on where AX Installer is picking up those information which needs to be added on the DynamicsAXBrowser? Tried stopping /starting the AOS Service and generating WCF. Also tried looking on registry but couldnt find it. How can I bypass
it so the Extension will be installed successfully. I also tried not deploying the reports, just the Extension only.
    Regards,

    I'd ask them here.

  • Reporting Services Point Error

A new Reporting Services Point installation on a remote SSRS server succeeds, but reports are not created.  The srsrp.log shows the following:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The permissions granted to user
'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' are insufficient for performing this operation.~
at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005Impl.SetProperties(String Item, Property[] Properties)~   at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005.SetProperties(String Item, Property[] Properties)
Why does 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' need permissions on SSRS? When the Reporting Services Point was installed, I specifed an AD account with local admin rights on the SSRS server for the installation account.  That account was also given SSRS System Administrator
    permissions in SSRS.
Has anyone encountered this before? Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

One more item of note. . .SSRS is configured to use Kerberos authentication.  i.e.,
    <RSWindowsNegotiate />
I am reviewing the following to see if there are any relevant ideas:

    Hi Casey,
That library might work, but I'd be very suspect of it as it is a GCC library. Maybe it will work, but I would look for a library from IBM. When XL C was installed on your system, it should have installed the necessary libraries I believe.
Also, LD_LIBARY_PATH is not just for COBOL contrary to what our documentation implies, sigh. It is used by the standard linker. My guess is you just need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the correct directory where the XL C libraries are located.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services - Access denied issue

    Hello All,
My Environment : SCCM 2012 R2, SQL 2012 SP2 standard and Windows Server 2012 [VM box].
while configuring  reporting services get error the reporting service fails to start using the reporting service account.
when i start the service on the SCCM server “SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER)” does not start using the service account “Domain\SCCM-SQL-SRSSVC”.  kindly
    advice

Using the switch  "NT Service\ReportServer" the service starts.

  • SQL Reporting Services - Install database

I've installed Reporting Services on a live server, but when I go through the Reporting Services Configuration Manager to create the database I receive the following error :
    Verifying database SKU : Success
    Generating database script : Error
Microsoft.ReportingServices.WmiProvider.WMIProviderException: An error occurred when attempting to connect to the report server remote procedure call (RPC) end point. Verify that the Report Server Windows service is running, and then retry the operation.

I've checked that the reporting services service is running, rpc is running and ensured SQL 2008 is enabled for Shared Memory , TCP/IP and named pipes. I'm therefore at a loss to see why its a problem.
    Any help appreciated

    Hi
Simple. Start the Reporting Service. Error: RPC is not listening. Tis the Reporting Service RPC.
    Note:
the account used to create the database is YOURS.
the service running the service should be a domain account - if using NT Authority\Reporting Services, then the server hosting the databases can't configure the access - fails with user 'null'.
