ReportViewer 11.0 component in remote mode - drilldown leads to significant increase of drilldown column width

Hello guys,
I have a problem with drilldown function in my reports with ReportViewer 11 component from version 10.0 to 11.0 in my simple ASP.NET 4.0 application, using ReportViewer in remote rendering mode.
The report design is based on multiple row groups, which should be opened one level after another (like hierarchy tree). It's a simple table without group headers, calculating summary of related orders value.
If I open some row group (drill down) via clicking onto a "+" sign in any data row other than first from the top, the column width becomes too big(like twice the original row width) causing the whole row width to increase significantly. If I do the same drilldown in the first data row in the tablix, the row(and all columns) preserves it's original width (is OK).
The report works fine when launched directly from the SSRS Report Server interface but the column widths are HUGE when run with Report Viewer 11.
I'm using latest reportviewer DLL files (all are version 11.0.3452.0)

Could you please fix the problem or suggest to me what can I do to overcome this problem?

Hi Joe,
As you have mentioned that the drilldown report works fine in the report server but have the size issue in the reportviewer 11.0.
Please test to see if the other drilldown report  will have the issue about the column width increase too much, please also test on the reportviewer10.0 (VS2010) to see if you will got the same issue.
If the reportviewer 10.0 is ok, please try to use it as an workaround and it seems like a bug and you can ask Product group here directly.

Or you can log a service ticket to microsoft to work on it. If finally the ticket is indeed a bug, the ticket will not be charged.

  • Smpatch in remote mode RMIERROR

    Any thoughts on what am I missing here? I've tried this multiple ways. smpatch analyze runs fine in local mode on all machines I'm testing. I have not seen remote mode work once.
    (i) First scenario, I enabled wbem to accept remote connections. Then, I tried to analyze another host with smpatch:

    RMIERRORBoth somehost and otherhost are base 11/06 release Solaris 10 x86 with updated SUC patches. Again, no problems in local mode, but I was hoping to test the remote mode with patch lists. For example, in the man page of smpatch:
         Example 4: Applying Updates by Using an Update List File
         # smpatch add -x idlist=/tmp/update/update_file \
         -d /net/fileserver/export/updatespool/Solaris10 -n lab1 -n lab2
         Applies    the    updates    specified    in    the     file
         /tmp/update/update_file  to  the  systems lab1 and lab2. The
         updates are  located  in  the  NFS-mounted  directory  named
         /net/fileserver/export/updatespool/Solaris10.Is there perhaps a consolidated list of requirements for services and/or ports that need to be available for smpatch to function as documented in remote mode?

    Can you tell us a little about the systems, for example:
    # cat /etc/release
    # uname -rvp
    # cat /etc/patch/patch.conf
    # java -version
    # showrev -p | egrep -e '121454|121119|120336|121082|121564|122232|119789'
    Have the systems been hardened in any way?
    This issue may be caused by bug #6228997
    If this is the case you could use ssh to perform the same function:
    # ssh root@host "smpatch analyze"
    or if you wanted to apply a number of patches from a list held on a network share:
    # ssh root@host "smpatch update -x idlist=/net/net_host/patch.list"

  • How to deploy JSP as EJB in Remote Mode

    I used JDeveloper and BC4J to create a JSP web site.
    When I was running the JSP creation wizard, there is a option let me to selete run the JSP at "Remote Mode" or "Local Mode".
    When I selected to run at "Local Mode", after I deloyed the JSP to 9iAS, it works fine.
    But when I selected to run at "Remote Mode" and deployed the application module as EJB session bean, there is a RunTimeException occurs, the error likes "The applicaiton module can not be instanced".
    I saw the JSP config file, it just a little different.
    In Local Mode:
    config name = XXXX.XXXXXX.XXXXXX.AppModuleLocal
    password = xxxxxx
    In Remote Mode:
    config name = XXXX.XXXXXX.XXXXXX.AppModuleEJB
    password = xxxxxx
    I read the web page about deploy JSP to 9iAS: http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/jdev/technotes/JSP/Deployment.html
    but the page seems just show that deploy JSP in the local mode.
    Can you give me the complete procedure to deploy JSP application as EJB in Remote Mode?

    In EJB 3.0 No need of any Deployment Descriptors....
    And If you are using Eclipse You can Deploy(as jar) using Export in File tab...
    XDoclet is not mandatory...

  • 34410A DMM stays in Remote mode after session, using USB

    My Agilent 34410A DMM stays in remote mode after my code exits, or if I use MAX to communicate with it, but only if I'm communicating over USB.  If I use GPIB, the DMM returns to local mode when my code closes.  Apparently there is no LOCAL command for this instrument.  Is there any way, other than pressing the Local button, to put the instrument back in local mode using a USB interface?  I call hp34401a_close() to close the instrument.

    I think what is happening is that when using the GPIB interface you are sending a code to set the instrument back to Local. I took a look at the user's manual for the hp34401a and it seems to have a command to set this back: SYSTem:LOCal. 
    You can try this at the end of your USB interface program, and see if this is able to help you out. Otherwise I would run NI-SPY on the GPIB end and see exactly what command is being sent to disable remote control of the device.

  • VISA control putting devices into remote mode

    So, I drop a VISA control on my fp. What I think is happening is when it populates, it is sending an *IDN? command to all the devices in the measurement and automation explorer. The problem with this is, some of the devices are in local mode, but if they detect something coming in over GPIB, they automatically switch to remote. I haven't tested it, but I have replaced the VISA control with a string control whos proper GPIB value is set from an INI file. I'm assuming this will solve the problem.
    However, is it possible to have the VISA control on the fp and populate without it sending these devices into remote mode?

    I don't know of any reason why that should happen.  Try running NI-SPY or Portmon before doing this and see if you can capture a *IDN? command going out when it shouldn't be.
    K, I'll do that. I guess what I assumed is when it (VISA ctl) populated its self, it went out and tried to find what instruments were actually there in order to know what to put in the VISA control drop down (i.e. GPIB0::1::INST,GPIB0::2::INST, etc). I assumed it may be doing this with an *IDN? command. I'll run the capture and see what's happening. For some reason when I start my program up, it's clearly sending other devices into remote mode by sending them something over GPIB that I'm not controlling. I know this because if I highlight execution, my code is in the idle state when these devices somehow get switched.
    Hopefully NI-Spy will show me something.

  • Problems using "Edit Column Widths" feature in List View component

    Hello. I'm using a list view component (Xcelsius 4.5 Professional) to display a simple table of text from Excel. I want to adjust the width of the component colums so that all of them fit on the screen at the same time- regardless of how wide they are in the excel columns. The problem is the columns in excel are of variable length; I have no way to predict how wide they will be. The list view component always defaults to the widest column(s) so it ends up pushing some of the columns to the right and  I then have to use the scroll bar to see them. I thought the "edit column widths" would allow me to force the column widths in the component (potentially truncating some of the columns), but it does not work that way.
    How is the "edit column width" feature supposed to work? What does one enter in the value for each label? Are the units in pixels? When I start entering values I get all kinds of strange behavior...

    I took profdant139's suggestions a bit further as my real goal was to have the "Document column" narrower. The goal to be able to see all the other document info that was usually hidden way out to the right
    To achieve my results I right clicked in the upper bar with the column names and chose from the drop down box "comments" column (as suggested). I then dragged it to the far right. This pushed all the other columns over.
    In the end of the day I ended up adding "Size" and "Date modified" columns as well to get my desired results.
    Remember one can move different columns around to be in the order you need by clicking on the column to get it active and then left click and drag it to where you want
    Another great thing is that by default (Using Mavericks) the date modified, opened,created columns have date and time. One can shrink them down to xx/xx/xx format by manually adjusting the column width like one does in Excel - click on column separator up top and drag
    Once all that is done, at least on my box, I closed it out and opened up a new finder window and everything was as I wanted.

  • Table component - column width and background color?

    Is there any way to set the column width on the table component?  And is there any way to set the background color.  I am using Xcelsius 2008.

    Column width and background can be set in the Excel range and then bind table component to display the range.
    If you change the Column width of background in the Excel range, you need to rebind the display range to update the format.

    First of all I would like to thank full to you for your reply.
    But what exactly my requirement is....
    The Drilldown feature should be disable in the sense the Crystal even should not allow us to double click on that particular Group Header field.(Generally when we have double click on the Group Header a separate window will be opened for that particular field).
    i.e,Crystal should not allow the magnifier symbol which we usually get when we have grouping in the Report.

  • Can I lock in a finder list mode column width?

    Can I lock in a finder column width in list mode?
    When I open a finder window in List Mode, the Date Modified column is always 6-8 inches to the right of the Name column.
    This is very irritating because I often have to drag the window larger just to find the next column and then drag them closer to the Name column.
    Even if all file names are short, the nearest colums are far away.
    This is very un Apple.

    Thanks CtDave.  I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader.  Here is a link to the full description:

    Here is the basics:  You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file.  Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of).  These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump.  So the bookmarks should all have these.  Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ.  The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
    It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great.  Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.

  • ReportViewer control used with a remote report does not display any data.

    I have this .rdl report that runs just fine on our reporting server (I can see that when I try to run the report by accessing its URL in a browser). However, when I run it in my Windows-based application, I do not see any data. My report has two input parameters
    and it needs to impersonate the caller's identity because the database uses Windows Authentication.
    Here is the code I use:

    Good to know CR doesn't like joins of Stored Procedures to something else.
    But in my testcase, I finally dropped the link between the ttx file and the stored procedure. Doing so, I was able to run the report from the designer with the stored procedure as datasource instead of the ttx file. At that moment, I still had missing data in my report, while the resultset of the stored procedure returns me all the correct data !
    In the mean time, I changed the layout a bit, especially the text fields containing name, address, country and postal code and city of the customer, by just adding some spaces between those seperate databasefields. In fact, there is one text box with all those database fields concatenated one to the other.
    And by just adding some spaces in between, my report works fine again ?!

  • Invalid Token while viewing Slide Show Component in Design Mode

    Hi Guys,
    I am having an issue where my SWF files that appear in a slide show component are displaying an invalid token error while in design mode in Xcelsius.  When I export the SWF file to Infoview, this error flashes on the screen for a second before the logon token is passed and the child SWF is loaded.
    I am trying to find a way to solve my issue so the invalid token error message does not appear and therefore does not get flashed to the user before the file actually loads.
    I downloaded Fix Pack 1 for SP3 because there was a line in the fixed issues detailing:
    "An Invalid logon token message appeared in Infoview when you viewed Flash objects (SWF files) that contain a QaaWS or Live Office connection."
    "This issue has been resolved".
    It is still happening even with FP 1 installed.
    Has anyone ever encountered this issue before and found a solution for it.

    Ok, I found out it has definitively something to do with the "Design mode could not load swiz-framework-1.0.0-RC1.swc. It may be incompatible with this SDK, or invalid. (DesignAssetLoader.CompleteTimeout)" warning. This somehow affects the loading of the mx:Image.
    Recompiling the SWC might work with the swiz swc, but there are more swc's giving this error like the google maps swc which does not have the source avalable freely.
    This is a real pain as I like to use a mockup image in Design Mode to place components exactly as provided by the design team.

    I've a component having a effective dated record. and the component is available in all modes (Add , Update/Display , Correction).
    When am in Update/Display mode and effective date is 01/01/1900 and i change something on the page and hit save .. it correctly gives me an alert window saying cannot change history records.
    However... When am in Update/Display mode and effective date is any date other than 01/01/1900 and i change something on the page and hit save .. it saves without an alert :(.
    I even tried winmessaging %mode it stays at U.
    any idea how to correct this behavior? any help on this is appreciated.

    Kaushik.So, the 1900 row you changed was an already existing row??
    and the other rows on the page..did you add them or are you trying to update an existing row..
    If you added those rows, its perfectly normal behaviour.. books excerpt below

  • Component Panel ( Design mode) loosing custom components

    Wonder if anyone else encounter this phenomenon?
    After placing custom Flash components ( compiled intoa SWC
    file) in the project's <Libs> directory, they are available
    and working in Source mode, but you can't see them in the custom
    Folder (In the Design Mode). Only after closing and opening the
    project they appear.
    However, they keep disappearing ( randomly) from the folder,
    and only after Open/Close project they reappear. Other custom
    components such as MXML modules behave ok.
    As far as the application these components work fine and are
    recognized by the compiler.
    I'm using Stand Alone, FB3 version 1201207; on WXP Sp2.

    Same problem here. Except I have even less luck getting it to
    consistently appear than you. Sometimes it works great, other times
    they vanish and nothing I can do to get them to return. MXML
    modules seem fine.. it's just with the Flash SWC files. Plus
    sometimes I have no visual indication in design view of the Flash
    module on my canvas, and other times it displays. (This is with no
    changes to the SWC file at all). But it always runs okay.
