Requirement for SYSDBA login while deploying

Why do I have to login as SYSDBA when we need to deploy a .NET stored procedure?
Normally, I can create Packages, procedures and everything without a SYSDBA login within the schema I created.
Does this mean every stored procedure developer in an organization have to have SYSDBA priviliges? This does not make any sense.
We are trying to make the conversion from PL/SQL Developer to Visual Studio .NET to develop/manage PL/SQL code, but stuff like this makes us stop.

The users are already different. The purpose of this whole thing is to prevent network admin. users to login to oracle database as sysdba.

It is a common problem. I used Oracle Linux to sort it out.
Perhaps you're using the wrong command? AFAIK kadmin should be used when working remotely. You don't say where you are in relation to the server? If sitting at the server you should be using kadmin.local. For example if I issue:
sudo kadmin.local
I get:
Authenticating as principal root/admin@LKDC:SHA1.EB237F611F07B2E8A636804052E8F7252BBA978F with password
If I issue:
sudo kadmin
I get:
Authenticating as principal root/admin@LKDC:SHA1.EB237F611F07B2E8A636804052E8F7252BBA978F with password
If I issue:
sudo kadmin
I get:
Authenticating as principal root/[email protected] with password.
kadmin: Missing parameters in krb5.conf required for kadmin client while initializing kadmin interface
A vital difference. Issuing:
sudo kadmin.local -q list_prinicpals
show show successfully kerberized users, services & hosts. Changing it to kadmin -q list_principals shows nothing except the error message. The above examples are for a client machine.

How many large install licenses required for a 5.x deployment?

I have been trying to determine the correct license requirement for a 5.x install. There will be 1 primary server and six secondary servers. It is very clear that I need the base license for each ACS instance, but the documentation notes that for greater than 500 devices (IPs) that a large install license is needed for each ACS deployment. Does this mean that each ACS appliance instance will require a unique Large Install license or I only need one license (presumably installed on primary) and that will cover the IP requirements for all my secondaries?

The large install license is installed on the primary and gets replicated to all the secondaries in the deployment that are connected to that primary

Asking for vendor login while opening Attached docs for Vendor

We are using SRM 4.0 classic scenario.
Having two issues regarding Vendor Bid..
1.
When the Bid invitation is submitted we would like the system to send the Extranet alias URL to the vendor for logging in rather than the original ITS URL for vendor login.
So do we have to control this using the Smarform 'IV_URL' parameter
or
i tried to add this extranet alias URL as the EXT_ITS attribute in the Org structure and this shows up in the vendor e-mail. But does not work. Are there any other settings to be taken care of to make this work.

The external vendor logs into the Webgui using the Single sign on setup.
Now when the vendor tries to open the attachements sent in by the Purchaser it asks them for a SAP login which the vendors will not be aware of.
Any ideas on how to avoid this step as we dont give our vendors the SAP user id and password.

Report asks for database login in deployed version using crystal runtime for vs2008

I am developing an application with VS2008 .Net with an Interface to use external Crystal reports.
I created a Report using Crystal Reports 2011 "doku.rpt".
I am using a CrystalReportViewer "crpv" on a form.
I am using a ReportDocument object (Variable "ReportDocumentM"), to which I load the file "doku.rpt" and assign the logon Settings of main and subreports (which are the same for all tables).
Using crpv.ReportSource = ReportDocumentM I assign the reportDocument to the ReportViewer.
On my develop System everything works fine, the Report is shown in the Viewer.
I created a Setup for my application and isnatalled it on another System. I also installed the CrystalRuntime for VS2008.
When I try to Show the Report, a dailog "Database Login" appears and aks for the Connection.
where the SERVER, USERID and (sometimes the PWD) Input fields are filled with the correct values, but always the DATABASE field is empty.
SERVER and DATABASE fields are READONLY.
Hours and hours I tried differnt things, I also filled the logon info of the ReportViewer himself, nothing helped.

In my case the original Report was created on a System with both SQLNativeClient 9 and SQLNativeClient 10 on it. Because I originally used a SQL2000 database as datasource, the SQLNativeClient9 was used. It wasn't a Problem on the System when I dynamically connected to a SQL2008R" database, probably because the NativeClient9 was still there and could be used. On the other Computer only the NativeClient10 was existing and this caused the Problems.
But I think that this is a bug in Crystal: I think ist normal, that from time to time there are changes in DataBase Connections and Clients, so the reports should be able to work also with new Clients. At least there should be a message to inform about the Problem.

MDG Replication model required for MDGF with Co-Deployment?

Hi MDGF experts,
We are implementing MDGF 6.1 and I am not sure if I have to set up a replication model if MDG should send to the same client(Co-Deploy) and if we need to perform Key mapping if we use the standard OG data model.
In another document I read that you still have to setup Replication model for MDGF if you post to the same client. http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6043b83f-1a37-3110-cd8e-f2dabb672019?QuickLink=index&… but this document is for MDG 7.
If, I do indeed have to setup Replication model do I use Replication via Idoc, services, RFC?

Thanks for the document. In the document it describes settings for HUB and ECC client. To me it looks like you have to create 2 profiles for end to end communication for HUB and target. Thus if in my instance I want to replicate in the same client do I still have to setup 1 profile as hub and a second profile for ECC on the same client or do I use the same profile and add all the target and hub services definitions in the same profile or only the target system settings.
Also what do I do about integration scenario configuration in the MDG hub system and integration scenario configuration in the MDG target system or do I only have to do it for target system seeing in my instance it is the same system.

Is TMSPE a requirement for a Small/Regular Deployment?

i am totally new to TMS and this is my first time installing. I have a small system with only 25 licenses.
Do i need to install TMSPE? and Does TMSPE need a license if I need to install it?

You only need to install TMS Provisioning Extension if you want to have any of the following features within TMS:
Smart Scheduler - Simple, Intuitive Scheduling of Single and Recurrent Meetings
Collaboration Meeting Rooms - Easily create and configure personal meeting spaces or conferences for users with there own dial-in address. Requires TelePresence Conductor.
Provision Endpoints to Users - Such as Jabber Video for TelePresence or EX Series endpoints. Requires TelePresence Video Communication Server.
It does not require any license to install. However, in order to provision endpoints to users (option 3 above), that does require provisioning licenses to be installed on your TMS.

This kind of problem generally occures when you have not defined Number range. Please check the configuration. It may be due to insufficient catche memory. if so you may get it resolved with your basis person.

Error while deploying the par file

while deploying an application in NWDS we are getting the error as"operation failed,please make sure that the server is running or check the log."
we have ensured that the server is running,but the deployment is getting failed.
Please suggest tips to deploy the PAR file successfully.

the server is running and is shown in green.
we have also disabled the proxy settings.
we have also tried by specifiing the IP of the server in the proxy settings.
the above steps didnt work.please suggest the things to do to make this working.

I am getting the following error while deploying the import project.
I dont get any error while importing assets from the xls sheet. it successfully imports all the assets.
It only gives error when i try to deploy this project.
I have checked all the assets and i dont see any id as null in the data that i m importing.

It looks like the mapping is either wrong or some conflicts between pub and target database. What is the id-column-name for this item? Can you also turn on the debugs for that repository while deploying and get the insert statement that is throwing the error? It would be helpful if you can also share the item definition.

Problem with Hibernate/WL 10.3/Eclipse while deploying

I understand that WL 10.3 has Kodo - BEA’s former JPA implementation and is not shipped with hibernate. There might be an easy way to resolve this. Any reply would be highly appreciated.....

and get the following error:

Do we need to copy server.xml while deploying for the first time

I have create a project in JDEV9 EBS 11i.
While deploying/migrating, do i need to transfer server.xml also. is it required
and also there is another sub-folder server/common, schema/server/common in which there is a file bc4j.xcfg? do i need to transfer these folder and files also.

Error while deploying ECO for Java

I got this error while deploying ECO for JAVA
I chose manual deplyoment
I specified the location of the jar file, app name, display name
and left the rest of the options unticked
after i clicked on the apply button
OAS returns me this error message:

which is not very helpful
