Requirements For JSP
What are the basic requirements to get going using JSP?In particular, what do I need to ask/tell my Internet Service Provider and will I be able to build and test the functionality of JSP locally?
These are very naive questions, but it is incredibly difficult to find this sort of 'basic' info.
A. You need a JDK (like jdk1.3)
B. Yout need Jakarta-Tomcat
(http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat/release/v3.2.1/bin/jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1.zip)
1. install jakarta-tomcat in d:\jdk1.3\jakarta-tomcat
2. create catcat.bat
into catcat.bat:
// start of text
set JAVA_HOME=D:\jdk1.3
set TOMCAT_HOME=D:\jdk1.3\jakarta-tomcat
startup
// end of text
3. take catcat.bat into "d:\jdk1.3\jakarta-tomcat\bin" and start it
4. build in "d:\jdk1.3\jakarta-tomcat\webapps\examples"
the folder kennedy
5. take your jsp-Files into the kennedy
6. open your Browser and open "http://localhost:8080/examples/kennedy"
or open "http://localhost:8080
thats it
have fun :-)

Which jar file is required for jsp dynpro page programming ?
Hi all:
I use NWDS wizard to create one small jsp dynpro page application. However the project has some errors, it said "
This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type com.sapportals.htmlb.page.DynPage (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath) Test1.java NewParProject1/src.core/com/xinao/test line 0
" However, I found the class DynPage is not found in current project.
I have already added com.sap.portal.htmlb_api.jar into my project.
Where can I locate and find that jar file (which include the DynPage class ) ?Hi,
Refer the following link content. It has answer to your question.
class path incomplete at first portal component project

Hi,
I want to run a simple JSP pages.
Can anyone tell me about the requirements for running JSP and how to configure the server and related stuffs.
Also if you could let me know about the configurations and softwares required for installing and configuring the server.
I was suggested to use Tomcat, but what is
it and is that the only software I'll need
to run JSP?
Please be specify in your explanation as Im very new to this.
Currently, Im using NT and only got JDK 1.3 installed on my PC.
Thank you very much for your help.
Regard.
TaraDo the following steps first
1. Install JavaWebServer2.0 on NT ServerJava Web Server is an outdated/unsupported product and currently not available for downlaod. Use Tomcat (http://jakarta.apache.org) or Resin (http://www.caucho.com) as JSP enabled web server.
Read the tutorials mentioned at http://www.jspinsider.com
2. Store your file with .jsp extension in
"public_html" folder
3. Start Services as following
- go to control panel
- double click on servercis
- look for JavaWebServer and select it
- Click on start button
- close it
3. Start IE5.0
4. put the following in URL bar
http://your_machine_name:8080/yourfilename.jsp
JSP file
<html>
<title>My first Jsp program </title>
<%
out.println("<h1> Hello welcome Jsp Prgrms");
%>
</html>
Get in touch, if any other probs.
Happy learning JSP

Hardware requirement for Solaris 10
Hi,
Im seeing different requirement for memory when installing Solaris 10, and i was wondering if the following is correct:
Minimum:64
Need for GUI: 256
So is it correct that you can install solaris 10 on a sparc og x86 with 64mb ? i guess it is only text then....
OleHi,
The minimum requirements are:
# Minimum of 256 MB of physical RAM (or 512 MB for PXE booting)
# Minimum of 2 GB of available hard drive space
There are more details available at:
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/specs.jsp
Take a look at the Hardware Compatability Link at the above link to check if the x86 system that you are using is supported, and what its individual requirements are.
Hope this helps -
Java.rmi.UnmarshalException: skeleton class not found but required for clie
Hello everyone,
I am new to RMI and getting a strange exception. I am using Java 1.5.0_07 both on client and server. They are running on the same machine, the rmi registry is started inside the server application.
I am wondering why java complains about skeletons, I thought they are automatically created when using java 5.0?
Please have a look at the stacktrace below.
Thank you for your help.

Does not meet the system requirement for installing BB App World
I bought a Curve 8520 in Singapore yesterday. When i tried to download App world into this phone, it says "my phone does not meet the system requirement for the software". does it refer to hardware specification or the BB O/s version on the phone. How can fix it because being able to use App world is one of the purposes that i buy a BB.
Also, How about MS Live Messenger , facebook ? Do I need to install them seperately through App World?
Please help!Hi there!
Please see these links for reference:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp#tab_tab_system_requirements
http://www.blackberry.com/app_includes/devicesoftware/appworld/appworld_availability_en.html
A key component in accessing AppWorld is your carrier -- if they are not delivering it, then you can't get it. If you don't have an adequate plan from them that incudes it, then you can't get it. Hence, if you meet the hardware requirements AND it is available in your country, then you need to contact your carrier to find out how you can get it via their network.
All that said, AppWorld is merely a storefront, vending apps developed by others...there are many other storefronts available that don't have the same restrictions.
Good luck!

Why we need to restart server when we compile servlet (not for jsp)
hi
why we need to restart server/appln when we compile servlet .
same thing is not true for jsp
as jsp converts to servlets then also it need not require restart of server/appln.

Blackberry 8800 - does not meet system requirements for app world
hi, i have recently boght a second hand blackberry 8800, which was o2 and now has a tesco sim card in it, running V 4.2.1.101.
The problem is that i can't get app world to download. I can browse, and use BBM so my blackberry browsing is on?
I have phoned and checked with Tesco, and as far as they can see i have the data plans etc, just possibly need to update my OS. But when i plug in to the PC and run an update check it says there are none available. Also, the requirements for App world are V4.2 which i have, so i am getting a bit stuck now.
Any help would be great as I'm getting a bit annoyed now!!! TA
Solved!
Go to Solution. The requirement for running AppWorld is not OS 4.2, it's OS 4.5 according to the download page on www.blackberry.com . That's where you're running into problems. Updating your OS would solve that.
Here's the link stating that:
http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/appworld/download.jsp

Hardware Requirements for OC4J and Oracle DB
Hi,
I'm looking for some information about hardware requirements for a server that will run a Oracle DB and OC4J. It will be used for training purpose (about 10 people) and for running small apps using ADF.
Does anybody knows how much hardware I need?
Is there any documents from Oracle for hardware requirements?
Any help appreciated. ThanksGreetings,
We routinely develop and test on a Dell Vostro laptop with OS Windows XP and 4GB RAM. The key is to either run the Oracle db in a VM (10.2.0.1) with at least 0.5 GB RAM for the VM or use the XE db. I personally prefer the XE db as it is lightweight and easily configured or uninstalled. As far as oc4j is concerned, a lot can be done to improve the efficiency by modifying the oc4j.cmd file in driveletter:/oc4j/bin:
set JVMARGS=-Xmx512m -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -server -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Dclass.load.trace=class-not-found -Dclass.load.log.level=finestThe JVM args settings are fully explained at:

Hardware requirements for web application
I am developing a web application with JSP's and servlets, it also has a database (MySQL) with about 26 tables a few of them with over 40 columns, pictures will also be stored in the Database (uploaded by users), for now the application will not have so many clients but it's intended to grow.
I want to know how to estimate the hardware requirements for both the clients and the server to run the application.

Please recommend IDE for JSP and Beans
Hi guys,
I am looking for a decent IDE to work with JSP and Beans. I have tried JBuilder which has too much going on at the same time and I find it to be an overkill for what I am doing; I find NetBeans kind of irritating. I develop web applications, hence I dont need any GUI stuff for beans.
Just looking for something that will enable me to rapidly develop beans as a support system for JSP pages and at the same time, it should provide good support for coding JSP pages. Little bit of management functions wont hurt either, but are not required. I dont mind if I have to pay for the IDE. Any recommendations?I like Eclipse for Java Development, and I use the MyEclipse plug-in for J2EE development.
There is a free J2EE plug-in (Lomboz) but I'd much rather pay the $29.99/year for MyEclipse. It's been perfect for me. -

What are the settings required for QM in procurement
Hi Team,
What are the settings required for QM in procurement. I have set indicator for QM in procurement in QM view in material master.
I am not clear about following fields to be maintained in QM view.
QM Control Key
Certificate type
Target QM system
Tech. delivery terms Indicator.
Please suggest me in which case to be used this fiels. Is it relivant to Quality Certificates.
ThanksHi,
All meaning are
QM Control Key :
If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement.
Certificate type :
Certificate types applies to the Certificate processing in procurement & Certificate creation
Target QM system :
whether the vendor's verified QM system, according to vendor master record or quality info-record (for a combination of vendor/material) meets the requirements for QM systems as specified in the material master
- If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement. If you want Procurment control then accordingly define Control Key.
- If you want Vendor's perticular certificate for Material then you have to define Certificate type.
Also, you have to maintain Material, Vendor's Info record at plant level.
Thanks,
JM
