Reset ALV entry in display

Hello.
I'm using an ALV display with a custom field catalog to allow a user to edit data via the ALV display (certain fields).
I create my container and fieldcatalog in the PAI of my screen and use CALL METHOD grid1->refresh_table_display to display it, I can edit the contents of the table displayed in the ALV just fine. I can validate each entry the user makes using the register_edit_event and use CALL METHOD er_data_changed->get_cell_value to get the user data as they enter and I can then validate the entry against my custom rules. My issue is that if the user violates the rules I defined in my code I would like to reset the entry. What method can I use to do this. My code for validation is below.

I have located the answer.
When I do my validation routine if my error criteria has been reached I through a flag and then execute the method "modify_cell" to reset it to whatever value I choose.

                      i_value = <value to reset field to>.

Standard view in ALV is not displaying

hai experts,
   While displaying the results in the ALV, the standard view is not displaying, although it contains entries.the "display" tab in the settings, all the displayed rows are auto matically setting ')', can anyone help me out how to solve this problem?

settings->display tab->
                                    Displayed Rows: 10
                                   Displayed Columns:    all.
and made all the columns which were hidden to visible and it is working for this time.
but next time when i execute the application, the standard view is not displayed again.

VBFA has VBELV and POSNV can be used to map VBAP (sales order item) i.e.
VBFA-VBELV = VBAP-VBELN AND
VBFA-POSNV = VBAP-POSNV
with VBTYP_N = J Values available in VBFA-VBELN and VBFA-POSNN will be LIPS -VBELN and LIPS-POSNR
VBTYP_N/ VBTYP_V = J stands for delivery and C stands for order

ALV LIST/GRID DISPLAY

My program output is in ALV format either LIST or GRID based on Sy-batch.
In that program they are using table Z1021.
They are retreiving data from Z1021 table based on selection screen parameters like werks, bukrs, vkorg,
auart and date and passing that data to one internal table.

For fieldcatlog they used function module REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'.
passing only i_structure_name = c_struct_name in Exporting parameters
retreive to i_fieldcat from Changing parameters.
from above both they are passing i_z1021 table data and i_fieldcat to function module
'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' OR 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY' based on sy-batch.
That is my current program.
My new requirement is given below.
Additional and change to fields:
1) Add Intercompany purchase order number
    From the document flow table VBFA.
    The field name is VBFA-VBELN when Subs.doc.categ (VBFA-VBTYP_N) equal to "V" after sales order line item.
2) Change field name u2018Customeru2019 to u2018Ship-tou2019
From VBFA table need to retrieve VBELN value based on VBELN_VA and POSNR_VA from Z1021 table
where VBFA-VBELV = Z1021-VBELN_VA and VBFA-POSNV = Z1021-POSNR_VA.
This is the condition to fetch that data.
And I want to change the description of Field 'CUSTOMER'( Z1021-KUNNR) to' Ship-to'.
Is it possible to do without changing the original logic.
IF it is possible what is the solution ?
If it is not possible without changing the original code then what is the solution for that also.

ALV Report to display the status of the requests raised through ESS

Hi All,
We have to develop a ALV report to display the status of the requests raised through ESS
for Leave, Travel & Event Management, Travel and Appraisal workflows.
ESS Travel, ESS TEM, ESS Apraisal workflows are associted with SAP Business Objects.
we are using the function module SWI_WORKITEMS_OF_OBJTYPE_GET to get
the top level work item id's by passing the object type like PDRELA_025, BUS2089.
By using SWP_WORKFLOW_LOG_READ function we are getting the workflow log
by passing top level work item id's as imort parameter.
The report output should have the following fields
Initiator, Initiator Personal No, Request Type( Leave, Travel etc.. )
Date of application of the request, Status ( Approved by RM, Rejected etc )
Name of the Approver, Approved / Rejected Date.
The logic should be work for all the above ESS workflows and should be generalized.
Can any one please let me know the procedure to get the required information from the workflow log.
It would be great if any one suggest on the same how to proceed further to get the information as mentioned above.

Where to validate ALV entries

We have an editable ALV grid. Where is the right place to call our validations from?
Following validation, we also want to (programattically) update some cells in our grid.

Hi,
You will have many options to validate the ALV entries, based on your requirement you need decide.
Let us assume if you want to validate on each cell ->then once user enter some value on cell ask them to enter, you need to validate these cell values on_enter event on alv functionality.
If user want to validate once enter all the cells...then you need to provide some button or use the standard button CHECK on ALV application tool bar..under the Action button youneed to validate.

Need ALV LIST for displaying Dynamic Internal Tables

Hi Guys,
                 I have some thing like 2 Dynamic internal tables.
Say 1st Internal table will be filled based on some condition.
say 2nd table will be filled based on some condition.
When appending the 1st Internal table, if that internal table is filled it creates another internal table of same kind and continues so on until some condition.
In the same way when appending the 2nd Internal table, if that internal table is filled it creates another internal table of same kind and continues so on until some condition.
My requirement is I need to display all these Internal tables in the output.
The output should look something like
1st Internal Table
some gap
2nd Internal Table
some gap
so on...................
Is there any standard ALV List, to display all these Internal Tables in such a way.

One thing more here is code which get 10 records from 2 tables and then show them in ALV.
first when u execute it will show data from ist table.
when u go back (F3) then it will sow data from 2nd table.
But if u want to show both ALV on the same screen then u will have to use screen programin and using class u will have to create container and then have to do it.

ALV selection not displayed/shown

Hello,
I have a question concerning the ALV:
In NW 7.0 everything was fine and working, as of EhP1 the selection for one ALV is not displayed.
...the selection is done alright and also corresponding events are raised. Nevertheless there is no visual representation for a selection - meaning the yellow/orange highlighting of a selected line. It is neither done for the lead selection nor for "normal" selections.
Other ALV in the same application (though different component) work fine and as far as I can tell all are initilized similarly.
Does anyone know this effect and - most important - how to correct it?

Hello all,
We were able to solve the issue of selections not being visible - although they are correctly set in ALV/context.
-> The default view of the window has to be set to the ALV usage!
Don't ask me why, but in case the default setting is on the empty view, no selections will be visible on the UI. As soon as you set the ALV usage as default, the selections will be visible again.

Anyways, it was very strange, in transaction SNOTE I tried to download this note but then the message appeared "this note is not released, please inform your sap support". And on sap support portal it was near the same. Now I will implement it and give you a feedback if you wish.

Displaying Average of Columns in ALV Blocked List Display

I am using ALV Blocked List Display. For the 1st block, I need to display the average of certain columns.
I am using the following code in the field catalog of the RATE column to display the average , but it is not displayed.

go For function/pattern [reuse_alv_grid_display_lvc]
do the following as mentioned in the previous reply's.
And To find the Average of your requirement, pass the field names as per the requirement.
gs_sort-fieldname = 'RATE'.
gs_sort-tabname = 'T_DISPTAB' "Final Internal table
gs_sort-subtot = 'X'.
APPEND gs_sort TO gt_sort.
gs_sort-fieldname = 'RATE1'.

At run time,ALV table is displaying all fields of database table

Hi all
I done one application using ALv I am displaying the ALV Table.my problem is at run time it was fetching and displaying all the fields in the data base table but i need only the fields which are defined in node.
Please help me.

Hi,
May be you have specified the database table as the Dicitonary structure property of the node.
Check the same and if its there clear the Dictionary structure property of the node.
