Resetting the JSF Portlet State in weblogic portal 10.3 and JSF1.2

Hi ,
I have a Registration JSF Portlet. It has two pages, “Registration home Page" and " Registration confirm Page". After I,enter the Registration details on " Registration home Page" and click submit, I will get a " Registration confirm Page". Add this JSF Portlet on a page in weblogic portal 10.3. Now visit some other page and comeback to the page on which I added the JSF Portlet, I will see that it is showing " Registration confirm Page", i.e the state is retained.
My problem is... I want to see " Registration home Page " everytime you visit the page. how can be achieved in weblogic portal 10.3.
Can any one help me out with this problem ..

My approach was to programmatically redirect to the page again with _nfpb=false. I do this in the handlePostbackData() method in the portlet's backing file.
redirectUrl = redirectUrl.replaceAll("_nfpb=true", "_nfpb=false");
PortletBackingContext.getPortletBackingContext(request).sendRedirect(redirectUrl);

Hi All,
We are implementing our application with the jsf1.2 with 10.3.0 portal framework.
in a tab i placed my jsf portlet, it will navigate up to 4 pages. We do have some other tabs too in our application. So when i navigate to other tabs and when i comeback to the jsf portlet tab i am resetting the portlet state to first page by onDeactivation portal event.
But the problem when the user within the tab and navigate to pages if he clicks again the tab it is not redirecting to start page.
I know we do have refresh action in our pageflows .. but how to reset the jsf portlet to start page when it is not deactivating. Please do help me..

does anyone have an example JSF Portlet Project for WebLogic 10.3.2 using the default JSF implementation 1.2.
I tried to implement the example of the document "Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic" but I always get a ClassCastException.

IPC in JSF portlet 1.2 weblogic portal 10.3.2

Hi,
I'm using weblogic potal 10.3.2 JSF Portlet (Portlet 2.0 - JSR 329).
i implement inter portlet communication through event handling.
a Portlet A fire custom event, portlet B listen to event.
how can portlet B listen to event and call other jsf page or invoke face an action?
(i use Invoke Face Action but it isn't allowable in JSF 1.2 Portlet - JSR 329)

hi, i have resolved my problem. i'm using IPC to pass parameter form portlet A to portlet B. In Portlet B, i'm using PhaseListener to manage RESTORE_VIEW phase. And in this phase, i create ViewRoot.

Well weblogic Portal does not officially support JSF2.0. For that matter none of Oracle products have moved on to JSF2.0.
Technically since WLP with version 10.3.2 supports JSR 301 standards. This shoudl be possible.
Steps:
1. In the Weblogic Portal Web Project --> Build Path libraries remove the JSF libraries. Remove the JSF library entry from weblogic.xml.
2. Now add JSF2.0 impl & api from mojarra.
3. You will also have to change the portlet bridge. WLP uses myfaces portlet bridge :http://myfaces.apache.org/portlet-bridge/2.0/downloads.html
NOTE - This is currently in alpha version.
Guess this should do it.

Weblogic portal external authentication and authorization

In our project we are using Weblogic portal 10.3 and Oracle 11g as back end. While creating the domain, I have specifed Oracle as back end. All the portal relevant schemas are created in Oracle database. For our application, We have created a specific schema. In a project specific schema, we have user table which containing fields like user name, password, email and other relevant fields. How to configure in weblogic to access this table for authentication instead of the user table in portal schema? As well as I need to know, in a admin console if a new user is created then the details will be stored in a portal schema table or in a project schema user table? Ultimately, I want to configure the project specific table to store the user details when the user created via admin console.
Need this urgently.

Basically you need Custom Authenticator to store and authenticate all your users from your own specific DB Tables (that has user information). For this you need to develop Custom Authenticator. Please note that this has nothing to do with the Portal. This is core weblogic security stuff. I compiled some links for you. Incase if you have Oracle Support, open a ticket with them Oracle support do have a fully working sample custom RDBMS Authenticator that stores and authenticates Users from specific set of custom Tables. They will send you right away. I hope someone in these forums may have this sample also in their personal blogs/forums.
And, Yes, you can force your Custom Authenticator to be the default one and to store the users when you create the users in Admin Console. Basically when you create the users you should see the option like to create the users in which Authentication Provider like that.

Weblogic portal 9.2 and Maven 1.0.2

Hi ,
Does any body worked on weblogic portal 9.2 and Maven 1.0.2? If any one then please send me the Pom.xml of Portal Web and Portal Ear project.
Please make sure Maven version should be 1.0.2.

But this was based on Maven 2 version and not maven 1.0.2
As there is lot of difference between Maven 2 version and maven 1.0.2 so littler bit confussed about compatibily of maven 1.0.2 and Weblogic portal 9.2

Problems with Inter-Portlet Communication in Weblogic Portal 10.3

Hi,
I'm developing a web application using Weblogic Portal 10.3.
The requirement is that the work requests have to be stored in a workbasket which can be submitted by the user at the end.
The user can create multiple request of same form.
Consider a scenario that the user creates 5 instances or work request in a single form. No he moves back to the 2nd request and modifies it. While modifying the 2nd request a validation message is thrown. Now the user navigates to Workbasket directly by selecting the Workbasket from the menu item.
Now when the user selects any one of the 5 requests, he is able to view the same validation message which is thrown as said in the above scenario. This is happening only when the user navaigates from the workbasket. If the user switches between the request, the problem is not simulated.
Someone please help me how this can be avaoided.

Portlet caching in weblogic portal 10.3

I implemented the following for testing portlet caching.
1) I have one JSR/168 portlet with cache enabled(Render Cacheable property set to true). This portlet displays time.
2) Have another JSP portlet which prints the cache names and size of the cache.
3) Then third portlet which is a JSF portlet has a submit buton
The caching works fine in the JSR/168 portlet.
I used the following code to display cache names and cache size.

The above code displays only the cache names which display metadata of the portal/portlet like portlet preferences, localization details.
But I need to know the cache name which is caching the portlet content and in which form the content is getting
cached(as a value object or as HTML). Any help on this?

Are there any error or warning messages on the application server console when you deploy the generated EAR?When I checked the Auto-deploy checkbox and press Perform Import on the Import Tool page, I had:
Import Successful... Generated EAR:C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlportal_10.3\samples\domains\portal\helloApp.ear
But helloApp had the Warning status (Health column) on the Deployment page of the WL Server Administration Console

Problems running the jsf-compnenets demo on Weblogic 8.1

I am just starting out with with JSF and I'm having problems running the jsf-components demo. Whenever I try to run any of the JSP's in this demo I get the following error :
/imagemap.jsp(41): Error in using tag library uri='http://java.sun.com/jsf/demo/components' prefix='d': cannot find tag class: 'components.taglib.AreaSelectedTag'
probably occurred due to an error in /imagemap.jsp line 41:

I have modified the components.tld file (within jsf-components.war) to remove what appears to be the offending tag but the problem still persists.
