Resin fails to deploy EAR
Hi,
I am trying to deploy the .ear using resin 3.0.10. & JDK 1.5
I kept the ear file in deploy directory.
[14:13:36.843] com.caucho.xml.XmlParseException: META-INF/application.xml:2: id="Application_ID" is an unexpected attribute in <application>.
[14:13:36.843][14:13:36.843] <application> syntax: (<icon>?, <display-name>,<description>?, <module>+, <security-role>*)my application.xml is

</web>
</module>
</application>
I am struggling for last 3 hrs.
Any hint will be appriciated .
THanx in advance
--Bhupendra Mahajan
The error message is rather epxlciit about the
reason. Try to leave out id="Application_ID".
<application>
<display-name>XYZ</display-name>
</application>
After removing the ID its working fine...
But the same EAR works fine with WAS/JBOSS.
Is there any specific reson for Resin strictly checking on this attribute (I am aware that its not available in DTD also). How can i make Resin ignore this so that my EAR will be portable??
Thanx

Problem can be easily reproduced by a minimal case:
test.ear:
\lib\test-extension-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
test-ejb-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
where
test-extension-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar contains:
CdiExtension.java:
package test.extension;
import javax.enterprise.inject.spi.Extension;
public class CdiExtension implements Extension {
private String someString = "Some String";
public String getSomeString() {
return someString;
Bean1.java:
package test.extension;
import javax.enterprise.context.ApplicationScoped;
import javax.inject.Inject;
@ApplicationScoped
public class Bean1 {
@Inject
private CdiExtension extension;
public String get() {
return extension.getSomeString();
test-ejb-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar contains:
EjbBean.java:
package test;
import test.extension.Bean1;
import test.extension.CdiExtension;
import javax.ejb.Stateless;
import javax.inject.Inject;
@Stateless
public class EjbBean {
@Inject
private CdiExtension extension;
@Inject
private Bean1 bean1;
public String getSomeString() {
return extension.getSomeString() + "\n" + bean1.get();
p.s. i seen same problem in community.oracle.com/thread/2577403 , but it happen in "war", not "ear", and seems successfully patched with patch №17424706Hi,
It looks like there is patch exists for this issue.
Patch 17198187

Deploying wl7 restriction : can't deploy ear if one ejb failed
In weblogic 6, I was able to deploy an ear even if one ejb of the ear could not
deploy. With weblogic 7 if one ejb failed, the all ear fail to deploy (There is
no cmr relation between those ejb). This a realy big restriction in development
mode, if you don't care about the failed ejb. You need to remove it from your
ear build and redeploy... Is there any way to have the same behaviour than in
wl6 ?

You must have logged in thru a dedicated connection to any server through say VPN before deploying.This way the sdm uses the same login as that of already establised connection.
So 'sign of' all connections to any servers before deploying and redeploy your application.Here you will be prompted to supply the sdm password and deployment shall proceed. -

Olivier MARTINIf you're using OC4J standalone, use the latest available OC4J, 10.1.3.3.
If you're using a manage OC4J, ie. Application Server, upgrade to the latest available version and upgrade your JDK. The provided JDK might be outdated.

Web services randomly fail to deploy properly in OC4J
I have an ear with around 15 services, and sometimes (today, all the time, other times, not at all) some of the services fail to deploy correctly in that when I come to access them I get one of the following (the service that fails is generally different so the below is just an example):
2009-07-07 15:06:16.633 WARNING OWS-03005 Unable to connect to URL: http://local

This load was initiated at democustomer.web.democustomer:0.0.0 using the loadCla
ss() method.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system.
If I redeploy it often, but not always, sorts the problem out so it is not a source code issue and I guess, possibly not a deployment descriptor problem for the same reason.
I'm running on OC4J 10.1.3.1 (we need to run with this version for now).
I get the same problem very occasionally on Linux 10.1.3.n but it's rare.
Anyone out there seen this before ? It's becoming very irritating.idris, the only workaround I have found is to check at container startup that each service was deployed ok, by making a call to a serviceAvailable method. That way, if I restart OC4J after a deployment I see log messages if all was not well (and in fact I can specify that the container shouldn't start if the service failed)
Class oracle.j2ee.server.OC4JStartup is the one you want and insert something like into server.xml after the cluster element (the jar conmtaining your code needs to be in the applib directory too):

Error while deploying ear using Oracle weblogic 11g in local machine
Hi,
Initially I installed Jdeveloper along with Weblogic and got the below error while deploying. Later I uninstalled Jdeveloper and weblogic, etc and installed a new weblogic on my local machine and tried to deploy ear. But still got the same error. With the same installable file and same ear, we could deploy successfully on my colleagues' machine. Any idea?.

Does the deployment screen show it has "Running". What does the deployment screen for the app show its context root as?
Also, why not just JIRA standalone? (it comes out of the box running in embedded tomcat). -
Exception while to deploy ear at managed server
I have a wli cluster version 8.1 sp3. It has two nodes. The node that is hosted in a machine different machine from admin server displayes a message
javax.management.InvalidAttributeValueException: Unable to create path to /appl/webbus/bea/user_projects/domains/MY_DOMAIN/./adminServer/upload/xxx/xxx.ear
whenever it starts. But the application seems to starts correctly.
This node has different path than the other.
It is /appl/<b>webdbus</b>/bea/user_projects/
I can not find anything relating in newsgroups. Can anyone explain me why this happens.Hi,
My suspicion about the exception is the it's caused by the different directory structure of the two nodes. As you can see at bold words, weblogic tries to create ear at a directory that does not exist at this node. It finds the latter <b>webbus</b> from the path of admin server at the other machine. My question is straightforwad, <b>Can we have different paths at cluster nodes ?</b> In this case, <b>Should we deploy ear (webservice application) in a different way ?</b>
