Resizing an Image - how

Hello,
I have an image object, a jpg, which I am displaying as an icon on a JLabel. The problem is that I need to be able to set the size of the image, I cant find a way to do this. Can anyone explain how to set the size of an Image appearing on a JLabel??

here is a little method from the API that should work for you:
getScaledInstance(int width, int height, int hints)
Creates a scaled version of this image.
it returns a new image scaled to your specifications.

Photoshop CC: Have a template that I moved image into. Image is too small. How do I resize the image while in the template? Or must I go to original image file and resize there again and again until I get the right fit?

I have a template that I am able to plug different pictures into at different times. The problem is that when I plug an image into that template, I find that the image is either too big or too small. Is there a way to plug the image into the template and resize the image (and not the template itself) OR will I have to go to the file with the original image and resize it there and then try to plug it in to the template to see if it fits------and if it does not fit, go back to the original file with the image and resize it again and see if that fits---and so on and so on...........? I have tried the" image size" option but it's hit or miss------mostly miss!

Read up on Smart Objects. It looks like you have no idea as to how to create and use them.
Jut create a Smart Object from the layer containing whatever it image it is that you are "plugging into your template". But you do need to learn the application at its most basic levels.
Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its very long and steep learning curve. You cannot learn Photoshop in a forum, one question at a time.

Hello, I know how to resize a image. But how do I save a new image/pictures has Jpeg with new size properties?

Use File>Save As or File>Save for web. Either of these will create a new document as long as the name is different or is in another folder.

I think others would be able to help if you describe a little more why you'd like to do this. Given that drop zones are a way of passing images into Motion that you want to manipulate, resizing a drop zone is the equivalent of resizing the image.
If you're having a problem with an image from Final Cut being too big or too small, select the Drop Zone in the inspector and make sure the Fit parameter is set to 'Fit' - 'Center' will result in images dropped not being scaled to fit the Drop Zone. 'Stretch' will force the dropped image to fill the space defined by the drop zone,
If the image is already cropped and scaled up in Final Cut Pro, that is the information that Motion gets - you can't scale down the image to see more of the edges that have been cropped off.
If you want more than one copy of the image passed via the drop zone, use Make Clone Layer from the Object menu.

How to resize multiple images?

I am newbie to RH and would like to know if there is a method /shortcut by which I can resize multiple images?
Specifically to my project: I have close to 50 tables containing various images and their descriptions. When I insert these images into RH, the original image size is inserted and these images are of various sizes.
I know how to resize multiple images in Word but not in RH and hence, reaching to higher powers
I am using RH 9

Resizing an image in iPhoto - HOW?

iPhoto 09 is a pretty miserable application.
Does anyone know how to simply resize an image - to a specific size - without having to mail or upload it with iPhoto's best guess for the chosen output?

Selecting the CROP and CUSTOM constraint crops the image. I am NOT trying to CROP the image, just make the ENTIRE image smaller.

You’re rather missing the entire point of iPhoto. The aim is to organise your Photos quite independent of the location of your files. It’s a key distinction, and if you’re not happy with it then iPhoto is not the app for you.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:

2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

but when I try to implement it to display image item which I returned the image from the column, I cant resize it this way, or may be I used wrong syntax, can you please help me finding way to resize it with steps?

I guess it is because of some carriage returns in your dynamic img tag that is being generated may be not, so make sure there are no breaks half-way through he attributes of the img tag.

I've tried two images, the results were:
Image 1
Jpg, original file size 923KB, dimensions 848px x 279px.
After resizing to 848px x 180px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 164KB.
Image 2
Jpg, original file size 809KB, dimensions 1200px x 1800px.
After resizing to 668px x 722px with 72dpi, the file size decreased to 307KB.
So, there seems to be a fair file size loss - is this to be expected?

How do I drag to resize an image in Photoshop?

I recently downloaded Photoshop onto a second computer. I'm not sure if that upgraded Photoshop or left me without some options or something. Now I'm unable to click on a photo and drag the corner to resize the image. Why is that? I use that function a lot and would really like to get it back. Thanks!

Whenever I try to resize an image by clicking "image size" it only resizes the canvas. Before, I could click on a single photo and drag the corner to resize the image. If I pressed shift while I did it, it would retain the same dimension ratios. If I pressed control while I dragged the corner, it would let you manipulate the shape so that you could kind of make it 3D. If you put your cursor in the right place, it would also let you rotate the image. It won't even do any of that when I type text onto my canvas. It seems like that function is turned off, and I'd like to know how to use it again.
Maybe I'm saying it wrong. I guess what I really mean is resizing a layer. Like, if I copy and pasted a photo onto a canvas I already have open, I'd want to drag to resize it to fit the canvas.

you go into iphoto then you click on the photo u want to re-size down the bottom there should be 4 icon there should be one saying edit click on that then up the top there are three icon click on the one that says quick fix the click on crop next to the word constrain there is a long bar click on that scroll down it will say custom click on that then put in the size you want the photo to be then u are good to go
