resource-env-description can't be set in weblogic.xml

hi guys , i've been troubled with this configuration problem. i am trying a very simple example to send messages from a servlet to a weblogic queue, but i cant configure the weblogic.xml properly. i've been reading a lot of information but i cant find it.:
this is my web.xml
<resource-ref>
          <res-ref-name>jms/ConnectionFactory1</res-ref-name>
          <res-type>javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory</res-type>
          <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
          <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
     </resource-ref>
     <resource-env-ref>
          <resource-env-ref-name>jms/colaIN</resource-env-ref-name>
          <resource-env-ref-type>javax.jms.Queue</resource-env-ref-type>
     </resource-env-ref>
     <resource-env-ref>
          <resource-env-ref-name>jms/colaOUT</resource-env-ref-name>
          <resource-env-ref-type>javax.jms.Queue</resource-env-ref-type>
     </resource-env-ref>
this work fine, but when i try to create the weblogic.xml , it doesn;t work:
<weblogic-web-app>
     <reference-descriptor>
               <resource-description>
                    <res-ref-name>jms/ConnectionFactory1</res-ref-name>
                    <jndi-name>weblogic.jms.ConnectionFactory</jndi-name>
               </resource-description>
     </reference-descriptor>
     <resource-env-description>
                    <res-ref-name>jms/colaIN</res-ref-name>
                    <jndi-name>weblogic.jms.Queue</jndi-name>
               </resource-env-description>
</weblogic-web-app>
what am i doing wrong? . i try to set resource-env-description in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml but it didn't work either? some ideas?

  • Namespaces in plan.xml - can't override weblogic.xml

    So, we've tried every combination we can think of, but we can't seem to get a plan.xml that successfully overrides items in weblogic.xml. It seems to be an issue around namespaces:

  • MIME SETTING FOR WEBLOGIC 6.0

    Hi All,
    I am unable to link any word or excel document from a HTML page. I am running weblogic6.0 as my application server. I suspect it has got something to do with the MIME type setting. Can anyone tell me where to change the MIME type setting for WEBLOGIC6.0
    thanks
    sanat

    Hi Sanat,
    You can change your setting from weblogic.properties file.
    It should be under your ....../weblogic directory.

  • Resource-env-ref

    Hi,
              in a servlet's war.xml I define a resource-env reference. But how do I
              specify that in the assiciated weblogic.xml?
              web.xml:
              <resource-env-ref>
                   <resource-env-ref-name>jms/EventTopic</resource-env-ref-name>
                   <resource-env-ref-type>javax.jms.Topic</resource-env-ref-type>
              </resource-env-ref>
              the dtd for weblogic.xml
              (http://www.bea.com/servers/wls610/dtd/weblogic-web-jar.dtd) only
              defines resource reference and ejb reference.
              <!ELEMENT reference-descriptor (resource-description*,
              ejb-reference-description*)>
              <!ELEMENT resource-description (res-ref-name, jndi-name)>
              <!ELEMENT ejb-reference-description (ejb-ref-name, jndi-name)>
              while the dtd for web.xml (http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd) also
              defines resource-env-ref, resource-ref, env-entry, ejb-ref, ejb-local-ref:
              <!ELEMENT web-app (icon?, display-name?, description?, distributable?,
              context-param*, filter*, filter-mapping*, listener*, servlet*,
              servlet-mapping*, session-config?, mime-mapping*, welcome-file-list?,
              error-page*, taglib*, resource-env-ref*, resource-ref*,
              security-constraint*, login-config?, security-role*, env-entry*,
              ejb-ref*, ejb-local-ref*)>
              Having said that I just read the servlet-spec (2.3 pfd2, page 68), where
              only env-entry, ejb-ref and resource-ref are mentioned! weired ...
              "The env-entry element contains information to set up basic environment
              entry names relative to the java:comp/env context, the expected Java
              type of the environment entry value (the type of object returned from
              the JNDI lookup method), and an optional environment entry value. The
              ejb-ref element contains the information needed to allow a servlet to
              locate the home interfaces of a enter-prise bean. The resource-ref
              element contains the information needed to set up a resource factory."
              >>>
              >>>So defining a resource-env-ref is possibly not possible?!
              >>>Why are they then defined in the dtd?
              >>>
              For the log: my code is:
              Context myNamingContext = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
              System.out.println("NamingContext: "+myNamingContext);
              System.out.println("Event Topic" +
              myNamingContext.lookup("java:comp/env/jms/EventTopic").toString());
              and the Exception is:
              javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve
              comp/env/jms/EventTopic/ Resolved: 'comp/env/jms'
              Unresolved:'EventTopic' ; remaining name ''
              Thanks for your help,
              Andreas Ebbert

    the quotes from "more servlets and java server pages":
    The resource-env-ref element declares an administered object associated with a resource. It
    consists of an optional description element, a resource-env-ref-name element (a JNDI name
    relative to the java:comp/env context), and a resource-env-type element (the fully qualified
    class designating the type of the resource), as below.
    <resource-env-ref>
    <resource-env-ref-name>
    jms/StockQueue
    </resource-env-ref-name>
    <resource-env-ref-type>
    javax.jms.Queue
    </resource-env-ref-type>
    </resource-env-ref>
    The resource-ref element declares an external resource used with a resource factory. It
    consists of an optional description element, a res-ref-name element (the resource manager
    connection-factory reference name), a res-type element (the fully qualified class name of the
    factory type), a res-auth element (the type of authentication used Application or
    Container), and an optional res-sharing-scope element (a specification of the shareability of
    connections obtained from the resource Shareable or Unshareable). Here is an example.
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/EmployeeAppDB</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope
    </resource-ref>
    Hope it helps.

  • Use of resource-env-ref tag

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me what is the use of the resource-env-ref tag. I am using resourec-ref tag where I have specified a jdbc datasource configuration. But I do not know what does resource-env-ref do? Does it add any extra feature to the resource-ref tag? I know the use of env-entry tag. Is it similar to env-entry tag?
    Please give an example.
    Thanking in advance.

    * <env-entry> - Environment entry, a single-value
    parameter that can be used to configure how the
    application will operate.
    * <resource-ref> - Resource reference, which is
    typically to an object factory for resources such as
    a JDBC DataSource, a JavaMail Session, or custom
    object factories
    * <resource-env-ref> - Resource environment
    reference, a new variation of resource-ref added in
    Servlet 2.3 that is simpler to configure for
    resources that do not require authentication
    information.Ok, u mean to say that i can use either resource-ref or resource-env-ref tag depending on whether i require authentication or not, right?
    Also, please tell me what does the web container do with these configurations? Does it load these resources at container start-up or it simply
    creates the environment where resources can be accessed through a name like, say java:comp/env/jdbc/MyDataSource where this is again mapped to a jndi name?
    I know that using this type of configuration helps make changes to the jndi name without recompiling our servlets.
    Also, could u please tell me can we use ejbs the same way as above (using resourec-ref or resource-env-ref tag) or I must use the ejb-ref tag. Since ejbs are also bound to jndi names, they should be accessible throught the above tags and not only through the ejb-ref tag.

    If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
    You need to restart your computer before the changes you made to this device will take effect.

    As far as i know the irq in bios setup is all set as auto and the total there's 4 pci slot and only 1 that is using, so how can it be resources being used up??
    Fyi i'm using Msi P35 neo3 mobo with vista ultimate sp1

    Under device manager> VIA OCHI Compliant IEEE 1394 host controller> right click it and choose update driver follow by choosing the option of search automatically for updated software (window would search your computer and the internet for the lastest driver software for your device)
    Once done i reboot and next bingo.... the yellow exclamation was no longer there, infact it was quite wierd when i try updating online, as the very first time it doesn't work but wouldn't know why the second time it does

    I believe I have found my solution!
    I can currently boot with my bios in ide mode- but my raid1 mirror is showing as independent drives (c and d)
    I do a simple windows search for winload.exe on the C: drive and get nothing
    that same search on the D: turns up winload.exe all over
    When I look at I my BCD 'device partation=C:'
    shouldnt this be D:?
    If so is this just a simple bcdedit, reboot into the bios, change my bios from IDE mode to RAID mode, save to cmos then, theoretically boot into windows with my raid correct (showing as a singe drive C: )

    Well, it doesn't occur before the start date. It's the same as the start date. I can work around this by setting my Filemaker database to add a day to the end date, but that's a clunky solution.
    Anyone else run into anything like this?
    (iCal 4.0.3 and OS X 10.6.4, btw)

    It may not be the same problem, but the message was the same (end date...etc). I tore my hair out at the time trying to solve it. It was on my fathers computer. Everything appeared to be correct and consistent. What solved it was logging into MobileMe/account/personal info/time zone, where I found the time zone was wrong. I can't remember the detail now but at the time it seemed like a third place where time had to be correct. Worth your checking there anyway.

  • Are there any settings in the options (or anywhere else) that I can use to set up an auto confirm and resend without having to manually click the 'resend' butto

    There is a certain website I use that I refresh frequently. Every time I do I get a pop up message labeled ‘Confirm’ with a question mark in it that says;
    “To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier."
    It only seems to be a problem with this one particular site. Are there any settings in the options (or anywhere else) that I can use to set up an auto confirm and resend without having to manually click the ‘resend’ button in the pop up window?

    Hi cor-el, Thanks for responding;
    I am accustomed to seeing this type of pop up on occasion and understand why they are necessary to prevent duplicating orders, payments, etc. I am not using a back button, I wanted to use an auto-refresh app to search for reservation openings on a certain web site and can not because this pop up requires me to manually push a button every time the page refreshes. I am resending the same information every time (a date range) via the POST form, so, was hoping there was a way to either disable, override, or set up and auto response so I can use the auto-refresh app. Your description of how to avoid the pop up didn't entirely make sense to me, but If I have to do a bunch of manual steps in between each refresh attempt it doesn't matter because I'm no better off.

  • Elements 11 in my folders can it be set to date taken

    in elements 11, in the my folder column . can it be set to date taken ?

    No, it can't. It's only in alphabetical order. It may be used for finding the last subfolders when you are using descriptive names to them. If you don't and let the Organizer create the subfolder hierarchy in the downloader options, those last level folders can be created and named automatically with a date template, like '2014 10 05"; in which case the subfolders will shown in date order.
    If you are using the organizer as it is meant to, you'll rather use keywords or albums than a folder organization.

    Kiran,
    Very good finding man.......
    When you are doing transfer postings of legacy asset data's balances to asset recon accounts with OASV, you need to adjust this ord dep posted (curr yr dep) also.
    For ex lets say-your APC value is 1000-Accum dep till last day of last FY is 200---and ord dep posted amount (curr yr dep, which is posted in legacy system) is 50. And in this scenario your adjustment entry in OASV will be as same as below entry.
    1st entry) APC Value new GL Account   Dr         1000
                             Accum Dep new GL account   Cr                 250   (200+50)
                             Asset OB Upload clg acc         Cr                 750
    2nd entry) Asset OB upload clg account Dr            750
                      Accum dep old GL A/c           Dr             250
                               APC value old GL account      Cr                1000
    Here new GL account means, the recon GL account, which is using currently for asset APC and Accum Dep postings. And old means, the recon GL account numbers, those used in your legacy system.
    My sincere advise is that, please use F-02 for transfer postings other than OASV, since F-02 is very flexible.
    Before doing F-02 switch off recon indicators for all asset related GL accounts with OAMK and pass F-02 entry and switch it on again.
    I hope this is more helpful to you.
    Dont say that this is my last question or something else man....
