Response times (PING) very high with CAP3602i access point

I have installed an access point CAP3602i in mode HREAP a controller Model 5508  with version 7.4.100.0 but the response times of the connected users are very high.
The less users are connected to the access point is faster surfing the internet and response times are low. But if there are many users connected, increase response times.
I'll be grateful someone comments any experience with this problem.
Thanks

We are talking about 15 users per AP, but that everything is surfing the internet and not so heavy downloads before aps 1141 and had had no such problem response times were normal between 2,3,4 ms
There is performing some function more cap3602i ap causes high response times.
Supposedly CAP3602i I say are better than the 1141, which is why we made the change but we found with surprise that high times.
The SSID was HREAP doubt it has anything to do with the 1141 does not give the issue of high times.

How can I set up a guest access point with a Time Capsule and an Airport Extreme? I am using a Telus router with the Time Capsule used as a wireless access point (bridge mode). I don't want the guest access point to have access to my network.

The Guest Network function of the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme cannot be enabled when the device is in Bridge Mode. Unfortunately, with another router...the Telus...upstream on your network, Bridge Mode is indicated as the correct setting for all other routers on the network.
If you can replace the Telus gateway with a simple modem (that performs no routing functions), you should be able to configure either the Time Capsule or the AirPort Extreme....whichever is connected to the modem....to provide a Guest Network.

  • Cannot associate with the access point error message

We just got high-speed Internet installed at our house. We have a cable coming into the house that connects to a Linksys WAP54G router in our basement. We have two Dell Dimension computers that we installed Linksys PCI Wireless G Cards into. The computer down the basement is working just fine. The computer upstairs which is directly above the router worked fine the first day. The computer got powered down and upon restart wouldn't connect again. I did a system restore and it worked fine. Windows errored out yesterday, and now even after doing a restore, I cannot get it to connect to the wireless network. The error message "Cannot Associate with the Access Point" comes up. When you search for available wireless networks, none appear. Any ideas?

Try connecting to the network using the Wireless Zero Configuration...just checkout on the right-hand side bottom of the screen pc right-click the Wireless network connetion icon...click view available wireless networks...click refresh network list...on the same list you will see Change the order of preferred networks...on top of the page click wireless networks...in preferred networks...remove each & every network...click OK. Now, once again right-click the Wireless network connetion icon on right-hand side bottom of the screen & click view available wireless networks...click refresh network list...now you will be able to see your wireless network..if its a secured network it will ask you for the wireless wep key...put in the key...where it says confirm the network key & click connect...it will be CONNECTED....and you will be able to go ONLINE WIRELESSLY!!!

  • Can not associate with the access point

    Greetings!
I am just new here. I am trying to set-up a wireless connection from our linksys router. I recently purchased a linksys wireless internet receiver thru USB connection. Now, my problem is the pc that is supposed to receive a wireless connection is stating " can not associate with the access point". I am not too good about computers, that is why I am seeking you help.
I hope I can hear from you guys.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers!

Lets start with the bad news, no wireless connection. Good news, fixable.
Make sure all your security settings on the usb adapter are correct. If router is set for wep set adapter to wep,and so on. Also check all your firewalls, in windows, and on any virus suites that you may have running. Try turning off all firewalls, other than router, and see if that helps. Also download the easy link advisor from the linksys home page. Make sure your ssid, and network names are set the same for router, and adapter.

  • HP Pavilion hard drive response time is very slow but tests pass (evenutally)

I have owned a HP Pavilion M1199a originally running Windows XP, but has been running Windows Vista 32-bit for the last 3 years or more.
The PC started to lock up for 30 seconds or more (2 weeks ago), with the disk light constantly on then go again for no apparent reason. These lock ups have become more frequent and for longer durations. I removed anti-virus software, and a few other applications/services but generally this computer is fairly clean as I use it as a media center PC.
I have tried checking the disk (SATA) for errors, and it passes although the tests take a lot longer than they should. The resource monitor shows no excess CPU usage and there is plenty of memory available. The disk monitor shows response times of 5000-20000 ms.
What is the best way to proceed from here? Is there a SATA controller or motherboard (ASUS PTGD1-LA) test? Should I buy another SATA drive and try that? I suspect that it is either the drive, drive controller and/or the motherboard that is failing but I don't know how to isolate the problem. The computer hardware configuration has remained the same for years.
The OS has the automatic updates enabled and I uninstalled the recent ones in case they were somehow causing an issue.

1/ No, but I am running Vista, so assume this will be the same? Or should I just look at the tmp and temp environment variables to see what folders are being used?
In Vista type temp in the Search programs and files box and double click on the temp files icon that appears above. Delete all the files in the folder that you can. It is safe as they are exactly what they are called and that is temporary files. If you haven't done this ever or in quite a while there should be a noticeable increase in the operating system's response time.
2/ Yes. It completes after a very long time.
5/ No - but will try this out too.

I am running OS X 10.6.8. I am trying to do a jigsaw puzzle, but the cursor movement is slow and erratic. I have updated Adobe Shockwave, but still have the problem. The last time I updated Firefox I had the same problem and went back to the old version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Time machine very slow with mountain lion

Time Machine backups seem very slow with Mountain Lion.

Same problem here. I just upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion. I only got 19 GB of space, but Time Machine wants 10 hours, whereas in OSX Lion a full backup would take just under an hour, and incremental updates were lightning fast.
I even sat it up to do it overnight, but on 8 hours it was only half way through only 10 GB. I can't live with that in the future.
Im trying to backup on a SD card which seems to work very good in Lion. Im on a 2012 Macbook Air using a SSD.
My bite of the apple has been somewhat sour. I tried reformatting the SD card, well knowing that I would lose old backups. But still the backup is extremely slow. Now I can't install Lion or Mountain Lion from scratch without having to wait 10 hours for TM backup or installing tons of applications and settings again. Bummer. I'm never going to early adobt a OSX upgrade again.

  • Chromecast with Autonomous Access Points

I have a client that has a Chromecast, with a 1010 and a 1130 Autonomous access points. I can not get the Chromecast to work. Can someone tell me how to enable mDNS, or Multicast on these access points?

    Hi Abhishek,
On which software code of Autonomous AP, you can run above command ?
We prefer you to check these commands & make sure they works in the products mentioned in this thread before responding.
Otherwise your/Cisco credibility lost based on the responses you make, if they are not related to the question asked.
As per below, this command is applicable for IOS based controllers & not applicable to Autonomous AP.

  • High throughput on access points

    Hi,
AP's today support 802.11n ( upto 300Mbps ) throughput. Is there any specific configuration to enable 802.11n to be used as backend link for the 802.11a usual links.
or does the ap auto negotiates. What factors determine if the AP will use 802.11n as its backhaul link?
    Thanks in advance!

"Factors that determine which data rate is , the power of the device's Wi-Fi radio transmitter/receiver"
This means that client devices can come with various TX power.  If you look at the data sheet for client wireless cards, you might see various different output power.  For example, 100mW, 50mW and or 25mW.  There are even some in the 200-300mW.
When you implement a wireless infrastructure, you want to match the power of the lowest client you have.  Many access points can be configured to the max for the country your in (allowed by regulation).  So if your access point can achieve 100mW but you have clients that are 50mW, then you may want to lower the power of the access point to 50mW.
Power or TX power on the access point will affect the coverage area, as the higher the power, the more the coverage. If you over power the clients, then the clients can hear the AP, but the AP might not hear the client.  That's why its important to adjust the power on the AP to your lowest client.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • New wireless network with several access points

    Hi,
We are planing to deploy a wireless network that will cover two floors consisting of about 5 or 6 Access points. It should have 2 or 3 SSID (placing the clients in 2 or 3 different VLANS).
What would be the best solution for this?
I read a lot about wireless controllers. What about an option to just buy standalone access points? Are they all configured to work with the same SSID's and on the same channel?

A centralized controller should make your life easier:
    - Centralized config - set up everything on the controller and it gets applied to the AP's.
    - Centralized monitoring - when someone has a problem, you can check the controller instead of having to figure out the AP to which they are connecting (computers don't always connect to the closest AP)
    - Dumb AP's - if someone steals one of your APs, they will not be able to learn much about your network from a lightweight AP
    - Radio Resource Management - let the controller make the channel and power setting decisions for you
    - If you use PoE, you may never have to get on a ladder and use the console port of a lightweight AP. The AP is managed by the controller, and for the rare occasion that you can't get an AP to respond - just cycle the power to the AP via the switch port.
    There are some downsides:
    - Cost of the controller (since you're buying AP's one way or the other)
    - Most cost: If your wireless network is important, then you typically want a second wireless controller as a backup
    - Probably more downsides, but my brain hurts today

  • Compatible with Netgear Access point?

I plan to operate some wireless G security cameras with a netgear WG102 Access point with their optional 2.4 GHZ outdoor antena. I will also purchase a new airport extreme and a usb hub to share a printer a external drive from lacie.
Plan to hook the extreme to the access point via a crossover cable and the external antena will reach all the cameras up to 500 feet away.
Has anyone tried this and can the access point setup with the extreme?
I really wish the extreme had a optional external omni directional 9 dbi antena.

Your speed problems might not be problems at all. It might be due to the specifications of your access points. A normal G router runs 54 mbps wirelessly and a B access point runs at 11 mbps wirelessly.
And the brand new PC... where is it closest to? To the Netgear or the Linksys?

                       Hello Group,
I have a 3602i access point and have been looking to see if it was possible to load a Mesh AP image on the AP?

    Hello,
Agree with George. You can set the ap to mesh by changing its mode to bridge. you can change the mode from gui:
Wireless -> your ap -> ap mode.

  • EJB with network-access-point exception "getServerChannel() not supported."

    Hi,
My task is to get a specific remote bean only to be available on a certain port (still using the t3 protocol). The bean is called MyRemoteBeanEJB. I have tried to accomplish this with the use of network-access-point In my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
         <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>MyRemoteBeanEJB</ejb-name>
              *<network-access-point>MyChannel</network-access-point>*
         </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
And on the AdminServer i have created a channel called MyChannel ( [Network Channel|http://i.imgur.com/3tss0.png] ). I'm running Weblogic Server 10.3.2 with EJB3.0.
The channel is active (from the debug output):
    <Notice> <Server> <BEA-002613> <Channel "MyChannel[11]" is now listening on 127.0.0.1:7042 for protocols t3.>
THEN from my fat client i look up the remote bean, everything works fine,
    MyRemoteBeanInterface remoteBean = ic.lookup(..); // t3://localhost:7042
BUT when i try to call a method I get the following output on the server:
    <2012-dec-05 kl 15:56 CET> <Warning> <RMI> <BEA-080004> <An error was thrown by rmi server:

If I remove the network-access-point tag it works (but I loose the point of restricting the bean to a certain port).
I decompiled the weblogic.rjvm.RJVMImpl class found in wlfullclient.jar (the client jar with all weblogic deps), and at line 769:
    public ServerChannel getServerChannel() {
    throw new AssertionError("getServerChannel() not supported");
Google let me down and really, i have no idea what's wrong.... Maybe i'm not using it in an expected way or i'm missing something.
Anybody with any insights or even better, solutions?!
    Thanks!

    Syed,
First off, for voice, you will need -65dBm at the edge of the cell. If you are trying to cover outside areas then the 1500 or 1550 is your best choice if you can provide a mounting area and power. I don't know your coverage layout, but you can use the 1142's inside but not outside. You should also use the latest 1.4.x on the phone. It's tough to provide voice coverage outside unless you can place mesh AP's outside at given locations. You will also need QoS enabled on both the wireless and wired.

  • Long Time Customer Very Unhappy With Latest Service

First off, I've purchased at least $15k-$20K worth of my electronics at Best Buy over the last 10 years...5 flat screens, a Bose sound system, washer and dryer, a Samsung refrigerator....all without problems...until my most recent purchase. I can honestly say it has been the worst experience I've had in retail ever.
I purchased a Frigidaire FGHS2655PF5A on Feburary 13th, and it arrived quickly on the 16th. It didn't take long for the frost to build up and the internal fan to grind so loudly that it overpowered the tv sound in the next room so I called customer service on March 8th (the problems started earlier but I had other issues going on that took my time). Little did I know that Best Buy's return policy is 2 weeks. That seems really short for a $1,300.00 purchase. So I'm 6 days past a very short window to begin with and they offer to send out someone from Geek Squad to take a look at it. Personally, it sounded bad enough they should have just taken it back but I was given the "no exceptions" line several times, so I accedped the Geek Squad help.
The gentlman that came out was incredibly nice and professional, but he couldn't fix the problem. Apparently the first person I spoke with on the phone wasn't listening to the problem and sent a completely unrelated part, so the repair man ordered the right one and came back the next week to install it. Unfortunately it didn't work, and I still have crazy grinding and frost.
I called the repairman and he in turn called back at the office to have someone call me to schedule a new appointment. I had a voicemail from someone who said to call back to Geek Squad, and that he had an open ticket for me to schedule more help.
I called in tonight (April 14th)at 7:50 PM PST and got an incredibly unhelpful individual who said "Oh I see the ticket but I can't fulfill it. We were never supposed to even help you the first time" I responded "Well you kind of didn't, hence the reason I'm calling back, but are you telling me you won't send someone out to fix this broken refrigerator?" He said he would check with his manager and put me on hold. Five minutes later he said his manager denied the request. I asked to speak with the manager and he told me "It will be a long time, she's busy and I think she just left the floor" I asked him for his ID number or last name for reference and he said "I can't give you that information" Then I asked him for his supervisor's name "I can't tell you that either". I told him I'd wait for her to be available. 10 minutes later he came back and said "She's still busy, do you want to wait?" I said "Absolutely". 10 minutes later, he came back and said "I've been instructed to schedule someone to come out but I'm not doing it under my name so I don't get in trouble. My manager said that she was going to take too long and didn't want you to wait so I could submit the order"
So here's the situation I'm in. Long time customer, horrible experience that hasn't been indicative of all of my experiences, but this one was terrible.  In the past I've had nothing but great things to say about Best Buy, but given the incredible frequency of how obnoxiously loud my refrigerator is, I have a story that I will tell everybody that comes into my house and asks "what the heck is that noise?".

    Hello Jmcc084,
Welcome to the forum. In our household of 5 (sometimes 6 when my son is home from college), I could not see myself being without a fully functioning refrigerator. Also, the grinding noise sounds dreadful. I can completely understand your frustration, and I'm very sorry to hear how many troubles you've encountered to get it repaired.
Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to locate the service orders for your refrigerator, and I will be reaching out to the appropriate team to gather more information. I will be following up with you as soon as I have more details. In the meantime please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
    Sincerely,

  • ITunes Response time is very slow while downloading.

When iTunes is preforming some task it is not responsive on Windows 7.
For example:  When it is downloading a program I click one of the libraries it can take up to 1 minute before that item is selected and the screen goes to that selection.  It appears that the file that is downloading has to complete before it process the command.
It appears that everything that I click must wait for the download to complete before iTunes processes the click.
Even if I am in another program like "Word" and click iTunes in the Taskbar it waits until the files gets downloaded before the iTunes app comes to the forefront.
It does not matter if a device is plugged in or not.
Another sign is that progress bar (while downloading) goes to 0% to 100% with no (or maybe one or two) steps.
Shouldn't download be a background task?

    I have the same issue.
along with having to hold the power OFF for an inordinate amount of time to get the "thing" to shut down.
AND, it's TOO QUIET. I have to get up and go look at the printer to see if it's doing anything at all.
Ink cartridges are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. Stupid Me. I neglected to see how much it would cost to operate this unit. IF I had checked, I would have bought a different printer (Epson). So now I'm stuck with a new out of ink printer after 2 days of use. Over $40USD to print 200 pages (IF I'm that lucky).
There is NO setting to ignore color out notices to continue printing in B/W, so once one of the color segments runs out, the whole printer is useless.
So now I have a scanner and still need a printer.
