REST style service - missing in JDEV 11g?!

Hi,
I'm trying to create a Web service on a PL/SQL Package in JDev 11g
{right click Package->Publish as Web service}
I do remember that in earlier JDev versions like 10.1.3, we use to have an option to create a REST style web service but I dont see this in the latest JDev 11g (Message Format screen, Step 4 of 10)
Am I missing something in here? Is it not supported now?
Sid

Hi
On JDEV 11.1.1.2, we have moved the monitor features into another perspective. So in the BPEL view, select the drop down on the top right and select Monitor Perspective. You will be able to set the sensors there. Also, we have created a feature called Monitor Express in this version that allows you to use out of the box BAM dashboards for your BPEL processes.
You can find the details on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/collateral/new%20features%20in%20bam%2011gr1ps1.pdf.

  • Rest style web service

    Hi there.
    I'm student and have a little project in university.
    So now i'm facing one problem: can't find any tutorial on rest style web services.
    As looking or articles in google there are some papers, but they are about some frameworks.
    As for me i don't need any of framework. So if you know any good site or have any examples on rest style web service programing let me know...
    Thanks in advance.
    Saulius

    The default for HTTPService is resultFormat="object" This
    causes Flex to convert your xml into a tree of dynamic objects.
    This is rarely what you want. Among other things, it tries to do
    type conversions.
    Instead, set resultFormat="e4x". This will give you your xml
    un changed. It also gives you access to the e4x API which is very
    powerful. It includes traversal, search and fileter functionality.
    Additionally, for anything but a trivial or demo app, do not
    bind directly to lastResult. Instead, use a result handler
    function. Here is an example, untested:
    <mx:HTTPService id="myService"... result="onResult(event)"
    (in script)
    import mx.rpc.ResultEvent;
    [Bindable]private var _xmlResult:XML; //instance var to hold
    the data
    private function onResult(event:ResultEvent):void {
    _xmlResult = XML(event.result);
    trace(_xmlResult.toXMLString()); //to see exactly what you
    have
    Note, your xml example is not valid, so I can't show an
    example of an e4x expression.

  • JDev 11g on WebLogic+TopLink+Web Services (getSharedSession() Disconnects)

    I am facing an issue while using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} through a {color:#0000ff}web service{color} request.
    I apologize for a lengthy posting but thought I should give as much information as possible.
    <strong><u>Migration from TP4 to JDev 11g Production
    </u></strong>I am in a process of {color:#0000ff}migration{color} of an application from {color:#0000ff}JDeveloper 11g TP4 to JDeveloper 11g Production{color}.
    I am facing an issue using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} with {color:#0000ff}Web Services{color} on {color:#0000ff}Oracle WebLogic 10g Release 3.
    {color}
    <strong><u>Existing Application</u></strong>
    This application uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} and also has{color:#0000ff} JAX-WS{color} based web services.
    The web services client calls the service endpoint that internally uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} to make database calls.
    We currently use {color:#0000ff}Tomcat{color} for deployment and the application works fine.
    <strong><u>Issue while moving to Oracle WebLogic 10g R3
    </u></strong>While porting this application to WebLogic we faced an issue wherein a call to the {color:#0000ff}web service{color} results in {color:#0000ff}disconnection{color} of existing {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} {color:#000080}server session{color} and creation of new ones.
    Some surfing on the net indicated that this could be due to the different class loaders that are used to access the TopLink server session.
    You must login to the ServerSession before acquiring ClientSessions

    James,
    My issue is resolved. Thanks for your tip.
    I am using {color:#0000ff}SessionManager.getSession(...{color}
    Solution:*
    I changed the class loader while getting a session.
    I had to extend the {color:#0000ff}SessionFactory{color} and override {color:#0000ff}both{color} the {color:#0000ff}getSharedSession(){color} methods while replacing {color:#ff0000}getClass().getClassLoader(){color} with {color:#0000ff}&lt;MyLocatorSingletonBean&gt;.getInstance().getClass().getClassLoader().{color}
    Regrding Server Sessions*
    While posting the question I had started thinking in the same direction of having sever sessions as singleton/Spring bean but sine this will change a lot of things in my current framework so decided I just use the above solution for now.
    Really appreciated!

  • Using Presence Service in JDev 11g TP3

    I am trying to use Presence Service in JDev 11g TP3.
    I have followed Chapter 13 (Integrating Presence) in Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter to create the page.
    1. Created connection to presence service in Application Resources(ViewController).
    2. Dropped presence and presenceData into JSF page.
    When I ran the page, getting exception(Unable to find a valid RTC connection). Looks like it is not using the connection I have created and would like to know, how to resolve this problem?. Thanks.

    Hi JP,
    The WebCenter TP3 Release Notes spell out what is and what is not available in TP3.
    Let me know if you have more questions.

  • Compile PL/SQL with JDEV 11g TP4 - Compile button missing ?

    Hi
    I have been working through the database development with Jdeveloper tutorial:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/db_dev/obe_%20databasedevmt.htm
    this, as name suggests, discusses db development with jdev 11g TP4.
    However I seem to have an issue with the section named 'Creating and Debugging PL/SQL Objects in the Database'.
    In section 9 of 'creating a pl/sql package' the tutorial talks about a compile for debug button on the code editor. This essentially compiles the package against the DB, however in my Jdev, this button is does not exist. Is this just because this is only a tech preview version or is there some further config I need to do?
    Versions are..
    OS: Vista SP1
    JDEV: 11.1.1.0.0
    DB: 10.2.0.1.0
    Thanks in advance

  • Consuming RESTful web service in Apex app

    Hi,
    I have created a RESTful Web service through an Apex application (4.0) and published as a public web service. Can someone point me to an example of how to then consume that service in another Apex app? The output is straightforward XML that I can retrieve just by pointing the browser to the URL of the service created, but when I go to create the REST Web Reference for the receiving application, I am not sure what to put for the Response Xpath or Response Namespace. The service is meant to just return report records that were created in the REStful Web service with no input required.
    The service XML looks like this:
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>EIS</DIVISION>
    </ROW>
    <ROW>
    <PROJ_ID>132</PROJ_ID>
    <PSL_NETID>xxxxxx</PSL_NETID>
    <PROJECT_TITLE>11g- Oracle Upgrade to RAC 11g</PROJECT_TITLE>
    <CUSTOMER>OIT</CUSTOMER>
    <DIVISION>CSS</DIVISION>
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    I have made progress in this. I created the RESTful report service in an Apex 4.1 application. (previous attempt was with 4.0 version of Apex)
    I then created a separate application and created a RESTful web service reference that I tested and it was successful in bringing up XML. However in Apex 4.1, when I create a report following the Wizard for creating a report based on that Web service reference I get the error: ORA-31013: Invalid XPATH expression Which I don't know how to get past. The Xpath provided in the Web service reference test gave output below and brought back a result. There was no where during the Report creation to provide an Xpath. Am I missing something or is 4.1 not quite Web service ready??
    This is what I get from the test of the Web service reference in the Apex App from which I want to create a report: (I see in this XML the data I was expecting from the test of the RESTful web service but it looks like the output I get from the Web service test is more like the Report xml itself.)

  • Problems with JDev 11g using JBOSS and ANT

    Hi,
    I'm trying to migrate to JDev 11g with JBoss ( version 7.X ) as the AppServer
    With JDev 10g all works fine with JBoss, even the Remote Debug, all OK
    here is the problems I have :
    1) ANT
    JDev doesn't save my ANT settings
    every time I launch ANT : Run Ant Target - I must set the Advance settings
    JDev 10g I only need to do that once, the settings are saved but not in the 11g, why ?
    2) persistence
    I get this error when deploying to JBoss
    16:34:50,967 INFO [org.jboss.as.server] (HttpManagementService-threads - 1) JBA

    it seems that is something related to dependencies not well configured during build stage of the EAR, but with 10g works fine
    BTW, I can't run my project with WebLogic either, gives this error :

    I can't say many about the ant stuff, but have you tried to put the parameters in a property file and use this to get the parameters to ant?
    The reason you can't run the application on WLS is that you have not installed the adf runtime on your wls. The error 'application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].' points to this.

  • Problem with RESTful web service with header value

    Hi,
    I am on Apex 4.2.2 and Listener 2.1 and the listener is on WEblogic.
    I succeeded to get a RESTful web service working in an application with no header to obtain a full set of data. The data set is very large, so I am now just trying to set up a web service to get a set of data based on a student ID.
    I followed the examples shown in the RESTful web service module of SQL Workshop and set up a handler of this type:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    The test for this handler succeeded both for JSON output and CSV output in the Workshop test environment.
    However, when I try it from a Web Service Reference that I created for my application following what looked like the same approach used on the example video, I get NO data back. If I put a 'stid' directly into a URL of a web browser and do the basic authentication I get the data!!
    This is what I have for the Web service reference:
    https://ourweblogicserver/apex/bnr/ace/students/course_grades/{stid}
    Basic auth set to Yes -- and this is working -- I am able to authenticate
    HTTP method Get
    output format Text
    no response Xpath
    no response namespace
    defaults for new record and parameter delimiter
    NO REST input parameters
    Output set for all the fields in the data set queried (same set of data as in my rest service which does not have any http header)
    REST HTTP Header : Name stid
    I there something I am missing. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this further.
    Pat

    Hi,
    I have posted a simple application with the RESTful reference:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=13758
    I can give you full privileges on this so you can look at the WEB service reference. Shall I send to you separately for login user?
    It is using the RESTful service: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/nd_pat_miller/demo/employee/{deptno}
    This RESTful service tests fine when I test from within the RESTful web service module of the Workspace.
    I based this on the Video demo tutorial for RESTful web service that Oracle published for 4.2 release. The video seemed to exclude the {deptno} in the URL but when I try that, it doesn't work either.
    This is the error I am getting when I run this on my Apex environment: (it, of course, will not run the web service in the apex.oracle.com environment)
    class="statusMessage">Bad Request</span>
    </h3>
    </div>
    </div>
    <div id="xWhiteContentContainer" class="xContentWide">

    Hi,
    as read in this thread : Re: Always fail to deploy to server when (Create a Simple EJB Session Bean )
    >
    This is a known JDeveloper 11g bug. If you look into the packaged EAR file, JDeveloper inserts some entries into the weblogic-application.xml file to register some listeners to perform some internal tasks it needs to deal with.
    The issue is that these classes are part of the ADF runtime and installed as part of the provided ADF domain. They are not provided as part of a standard WLS installation. Thus when you deploy a JDeveloper 11g packaged application to a non ADF augmented WLS 10.3 instance, you get a Classloading error on deployment because the specific listener-classes are not available.
    The relevant bug # for this is:
    BUG#7487416
    EAR FILE PACKAGING SETS FIXED DEPENDENCY ON
    JPSAPPLICATIONLIFECYCLELISTENER
    I believe a fix for this will be provided in the first patchset for JDeveloper 11g.
    In the meantime, if you want to workaround it, extract the weblogic-application.xml file from the EAR file, manually remove the listener entries, put the modified file back into the EAR file and then deploy it.
    -steve-
    >
    It solved the problem for me.
    But you should now get another problem, like some of us on this forum : ADFLogger will be missing. If so, please report to this thread for helping us : Standalone WLS server instance deployment failure - missing ADFLogger
    Regards.

  • JDev 11g - WSDL generation using HTTP binding - WSDL2Java

    I'm using JDev 11.1.1.3.0.  Trying to create a WSDL that uses only an HTTP binding (non-SOAP) to recreate a web service I'm trying to connect to.  My hope is to create the WSDL and use the 'Java Web Service from WSDL' tool (WSDL2Java) to create the Java client code for connecting to the web service.  (No, the author of the web service does not support SOAP. Sigh).
    First off, I do not see an option to create a straight HTTP binding using the 'WSDL Editor/Create Binding' dialog, (only SOAP11, SOAP12, Java, EJB, JCA, JMS, Custom).  So I manually created the binding based on what I could find in the w3c.  Here it is slightly modified with bogus namespaces and URL addresses:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <definitions targetNamespace="https://my.server.com/context/"
                 xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
                 xmlns:http="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/"
                 xmlns:tns="https://my.server.com/context/"
                 xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
                 xmlns:mime="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/mime/"
                 xmlns:types="https://my.server.com/context//types"
                 xmlns:java="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/java/"
                 xmlns:format="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/formatbinding/">
      <types>
        <xsd:schema targetNamespace="https://my.server.com/context//types"
                    elementFormDefault="qualified"/>
        <xsd:schema>
          <xsd:import schemaLocation="MyRequest.xsd" namespace="https://my.server.com/context//types"/>
        </xsd:schema>
        <xsd:schema>
          <xsd:import schemaLocation="MyResponse.xsd" namespace="https://my.server.com/context//types"/>
        </xsd:schema>
        <xsd:schema>
          <xsd:import schemaLocation="Common.xsd" namespace="https://my.server.com/context//cmn"/>
        </xsd:schema>
      </types>
      <portType name="AvailabilityServices">
        <operation name="RequestAvailability">
          <input message="tns:AvailabilityRequestMessage"/>
          <output message="tns:AvailabilityResponseMessage"/>
        </operation>
      </portType>
      <message name="AvailabilityRequestMessage">
        <part name="part" element="types:PNARequest"/>
      </message>
      <message name="AvailabilityResponseMessage">
        <part name="part" element="types:PNAResponse"/>
      </message>
      <binding name="AvailabilityServicesHTTPBinding"
               type="tns:AvailabilityServices">
        <http:binding verb="POST"/>
        <operation name="RequestAvailability">
          <http:operation location="RequestAvailability"/>
          <input>
            <mime:content type="application/xml"/>
          </input>
          <output>
            <mime:mimeXml/>
          </output>
        </operation>
      </binding>
      <service name="AvailabilityService">
        <port name="AvailabilityServicesPort"
              binding="tns:AvailabilityServicesHTTPBinding">
          <http:address location="https://my.server.com/context/"/>
        </port>
      </service>
    </definitions>
    I really don't know if the the input and output tags for the binding are correct.  I've tried <mime:mimeXml/> for both.  I basically want to just send and receive the XSD schemas as straight XML over HTTP.  Is this right?
    Secondly, when trying to generate the Java code from this WSDL, the generation fails with an IndexOutOfBoundsException:

    Anybody know how to write a WSDL with a non-SOAP HTTP binding and then generate Java from it?
    Thanks

    Okay, I'll check it out.  I know the newest version of SoapUi handles REST services (not sure if that's what I'm trying to attempt) so maybe I could 'ping' the web service using it.
    But seeing how this is a JDeveloper forum, I was hoping somebody could help me create a WSDL with HTTP bindings using the JDeveloper tool set, or at least identify if I have correctly defined the HTTP binding in my sample WSDL.  Does JDev 11g not have this functionality?

  • Error while running HRFacadeClient of JDev 11g Tutorial

    Hi,
    I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
    Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
    <strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
    Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Regards,

    Hi Heidi,
    I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
    This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
    Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
    The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
    I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand

    Oh, no - another very urgent question. The world must be about to end ;)
    Resmi, Have a read of [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=883293]this - JDeveloper 11g, as of today, doesn't (at least is not supposed to) support publishing PL/SQL procedures/packages as a web service.

  • Issue with Calling Rest Web Service using Designer workflow

    Hello all
    I am calling a Rest web service- HTTP Post (yammer API)-
    http://www.yammer.com/api/v1/messages.json?data-app-id=myappid&group_id=groupid&body=MyPost in yammer  using sharepoint 2013 designer workflow.(My Requirement is to create a yammer post when I approve an item in sharepoint).
    but my header parameters are creating issue while executing workflow.
    Currently I have these many parameters configured in request header
    Accept -application/json; odata=verbose
    Content Type -application/json; odata=verbose
    content length header -255
    Is there anything wrong or I need to additionally pass some values in call web service action?
    Any help would be highly appreciated

  • Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7 (Apex Listener)

    Background
    1. Weblogic 10.3.6.0 running on Oracle Linux 6.5 with Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.2.3-13-149708-1.6.0_31-20120327-1523-linux-x86_64, compiled mode)
    2. Oracle Apex 4.2.1
    3. Apex Listener 1.1.3
    4. Apex and Apex Listener running on the Weblogic box above
    5. SQL Developer 4.0.2 running on Windows 7 64 bit / Java 1.7.0_55
    Updated Apex to 4.2.5 via p17966818_425_Generic.zip patchset. Apex environment running fine as do all applications via Listener 1.1.3
    Updated Oracle Listener to the latest version of Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
    Current Status
    Apex Applications and RESTful services are running fine.
    Problem
    Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
    Error message in SQL Developer - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
    Additional Information
    Steps followed -
    1. The oracle users APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER did not exist, so I ran apex_rest_config.sql from the APEX 2.4.1 patchset whilst connected sys as sysdba and provided the same password as APEX_PUBLIC_USER for both users.
    2. I also ran
    grant insert, delete on APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups to APEX_LISTENER;
    alter session set current_schema = APEX_LISTENER;
    create or replace synonym wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups for APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups;
    as per Oracle SQL Developer User's Guide Release 4.0
    3. copied ords.war to apex.war
    4. java -jar apex.war configdir /u01/app/oracle/admin/apex/devdomain1/
    5. java -jar apex.war

    NOTHING UNUSUAL IN ANY OF THE WEBLOGIC LOG FILES, EXCEPT THAT IT STATES
    'Oracle REST Data Services version : 2.0.6.27.18.06' when I've installed 2.0.7.
    Any help much appreciated

    Further to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
    So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
    Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
    Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
    Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
    INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]
    SQL Developer responded with an Authentication Failed titled dialog with the following displayed in the body of the dialog
    Cannot connect to DEV.

    I am assuming this must be part of the problem I am seeing this the Weblogic deployment in my original post.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to tackle this?
