Restart OI without unload

I am creating a custom Operator Interface (OI) for a customer.  I am using the Full-Featured VB.NET example as the basis for my OI,  My customer is in a repair environment and not a production environment.  They wish:
1. To use the "Single Pass" entry point only.  They have reasons for not using the "Test UUT" entry point.
2. They want to be able to re-run the same UUT, with the same seq file and the same operator.  Otherwise the execution would look like a new execution with the listbar, execution view and report views cleared when the operator starts another execution.
My problem is that to clear the listbar, execution view, and report view I have to release the manager connections.  I do this after detecting a "EndExecution" event.  Those controls do clear.  However when I re-establish the connections all the old data comes back in the views and listbar.  I do not want the old data.  I want to come up with just to new data, similar to an initial application start but with same seq file, user and UUT.  I am obviously missing setting some property or implementing some method, but I cannot determing what it is.  Can you help?  Thanks.

The ReportView shows the report for the Execution on the
ExecutionViewMgr. So if you set the ExecutionViewMgr.Execution to
Nothing. The ReportView will clear. The ListBar page binds to the
executions in the ApplicationMgr.Executions collection. If you close
all completed executions using the ApplicationMgr.CloseExecution
method, the ListBar will clear as well. This way you don't need to mess
with the connections.
Hope this helps.

    You can use any computer but your data will be lost if you have no backup.

    Hi:
    As noted above, Firefox won't open a new window. I restarted machine without closing Firefox. Now, I get the Firefox menu bar but it won't open a window. I'm using mac, with OS X 10.6

    This last line is our only indication of a problem!
    The only way it seems to get it to work again is to completely restart
    our WL server. Obviously this is NOT good in a production environment.
    BEA is clueless as to why this happens and WTC doesn't put out any
    good diag's to help find the problem. So our only hope is to try to
    write our own WTC exit monitor and to try restarting it.
    Is this possible? Can I call a Servlet or URL to restart WTC without
    having to restart the whole server!!!!!
    HELP - this is killing us.
    Thanks

    Hello Bomiboll,
    when shutting down your Mac there is, before clicking the "Shut Down"-button, a checkbox you should disable in order to avoid remembering opened programs.

  • How do I restart apex without restarting the database?

    As the title says... How do I restart apex without restarting the database?
    For the second time in as many weeks apex 3.0.1(?) has stopped working while the database (10gR2) hasn't missed a beat.
    How do I restart apex?
    How do I get it to restart automatically on failure.
    How do I receive failure notification messages.
    How do I diagnose the cause of the failure.
    We were looking at using apex in a production environment but the prospect of unplanned restarts of production databases every week is a little daunting.
    Regards,
    David

    David,
    >> We're not using oracle http server as it's a 64 bit version so yes the whole thing is running within the database.
    1) So your Web server is the XDB HTTP protocol server and embedded PL/SQL gateway (basically, the database's embedded Web server)? Is this 11g? If so, what platform?
    2) Are there any reported issues in the database alert log?
    3) When you check the status of the database listener, does it show services running for this specific port (default 8080, I guess)?
    4) If you normally go to http://server:port/apex, when this situation occurs, what happens when you try and go to http://server:port?

  • DLL Adapter: Change function name & params without unloading the DLL

    Hi,
    I'm using teststand adapters API to dynamically build a DLL call step. Each dll function is called thru this "DLL Manager" sub-sequence.
    Tried 2 methods (here is an abstract of the code):
    1. ActiveX steps:
    CommonCModule.ModulePath = myDllpath
    CommonCModule.FunctionName = myFunction  (note: this call unload the previously loaded DLL)
    Module -> LoadPrototype
    for( to set params)
    2. Statement steps:
    RunState.Sequence.Main["Call DLL function"].TS.SData.Call.LibPath = myDllpath
    RunState.Sequence.Main["Call DLL function"].TS.SData.Call.Func = myFunction (note: this one not, but the info seems to not be updated => The new function is not called properly)
    Module -> LoadPrototype
    for( to set params)
    The two methods don't have exactly the same behavior, but work well for the 1st function that I call or work well if I unload the dll after step execute.
    However, is there a way to use these steps (or others) to setup the step, but without unloading the DLL between each call. In my test sequence, I have to OpenConnection with the UUT before launching my commands, so the dll must not be unloaded to keep the connection opened...
    e.g.
    1) OpenConnection()  => This function keeps the communication handle with the device
    2) myCommand1()
    3) myCommand2()
    4) CloseConnection()
    Thank you for help
    C.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi all,
    To recap:
    I'm looking for a method to dynamically loads and executes C/C++ DLL functions without unloading the DLL between each call. I already have a DLL manager that dynamically loads and executes dll functions, but it unloads the DLL between each call even if I set the unload option to: "Unload when sequence file is unloaded"...
    The problem is:
    When I change the name of the function to execute (using the CommonCModule.FunctionName property), teststand automatically unloads the DLL before applying the change. Therefore, I can't open a connection handle with my UUT using one function and sends my commands with the others...
    To help you with the understanding of my issue:
    I created a simple example that will let you experiment the problem that I try to describ... You will notify that TestStand unloads the dll even if I don't request it...
    1) download the attached zip file
    2) extract it anywhere
    3) open sequence file "dll_called_dynamically.seq"
    4) read comment of the first step of the sequence
    >> To analyse the case:
    >> 1) Break and run the sequence using step-by-step (use F10)
    >> 2) Run one iteration of the loop to execute the dll once, ,
    >> 3) Execute launch_listdlls.bat and verify in the outputfile.txt that the dll has been loaded (search for testlib.txt)
    >> 4) Then, step over the step "Set Dll Function Name to call"
    >> 5) Execute launch_listdlls.bat and you will notify that the dll has been unloaded... ...
    The testlib.dll file provided in the zip file is a basic dll that I used to confirm my test engine. Mainly, it only performs additions on the variables passed as argument to the dll.
    The provided batch file executes the free application ListDlls.exe and create an outputfile.txt listing all currently loaded dll.
    Please note that I use TestStand 2013
    Thank you very much for your help,
    C.

  • Restart Firefox Without Re-Opening Pages

    I want to restart Firefox without re-opening previous session. There are 2 items about how to do this in the support database but they are too technical for me to understand.

    You should be able to, inside firefox, click on Tools, then Options. Then, you should see something like "When Firefox starts: show my pages from last time". Change that to be "My Home Page".

  • How to restart KDE without reboot of system

    Hello
    I tried to do this in 2 ways:
    1)
    - su
    - /etc/rc.d/kdm stop
    - /etc/rc.d/kdm start
    2)
    - setxkbmap -option terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp      # to use keyboard (ctrl+atl+Backspace)
    But here is the problems.
    Method 1) -> there is no sound when I try to play movies (wth VLC player for example).
    Method 2) -> does't work. It tells me "No protocol specified"

    Log out of KDE log in to vc. Then either stop kdm as you specified above, or given that it gives your problems, use
    sudo htop
    to kill it. It's not "pretty" but it is effective.
    Then start KDM with xinit. Edit xinit that instead of TWM it starts KDM.
    Why do you even need to restart KDE without reboot?

    my iphone 4s is in recovery mode somehow- that what itunes says. how can i restart it without restoring it. it was never back up yet and i dont want to loose information from it.  itunes says all info will be erased once restored. help pls.

    If your phone is in recovery mode, the data is already lost.  Hopefully, if you've been using your phone as intended and have been synching and backing up frequently, your data loss will be minimal.

  • Restart dwm without closing programs

    I'm trying dwm for the first time and according to the wiki you can recompile and restart dwm without closing any windows, using this script:
    conky | while read line; do
    xsetroot -name "$line"
    done | while true; do
    # Log stderror to a file
    dwm 2> ~/.dwm.log; done
    # No error logging
    #dwm > /dev/null; done
    The wiki says you can put this in a file, for example ~/bin/startdwm and start that through ~/.xinitrc
    I'm a relative newbie, so could someone please elaborate a little on what I would have to do to get this to work? I tried writing a script and setting permissions and then using "exec startdwm" and "exec ~/bin/startdwm" in my ~/.xinitrc but this didn't work. Any help would be appreciated... having to restart my applications all the time is getting tiresome.

    Thanks guys! I've been messing around with all these ideas and slowly but surely getting everything to where I want it.
    Edit: Also especially thanks to firecat for the examples; they're just what I was looking for.

  • Stop database instances and restart server without the databases to start.

    We run Oracle database-server 10 enterprise edition release 10.2.0.4.0 64 bit pl/sql release 10.2.0.4.0 production.
    How do i restart the servet without the databases to restart f. eks using enterprise manager.

    I think what you need to do is go into the oratab file and mark each database set to be started automatically on boot up to not be set to auto-start. When done doing whatever you are doing now you would need to reset the indicator to Y. I do not think you would do this via EM.
    We have all our database set to not auto-start and have our own start scripts that run a series of startup action scripts. This was for our system administrators who did not want Oracle in the way when they applied patches or made hardware changes that required re-booting and the start-up action scripts load and pin large objects into the shared pool on startup before the database is in use by the applications.
