Restrict accounts for an Application Instance

How can we restrict the number of Application Instance accounts in OIM that can be provisioned to a single user?

Earlier we were having Allow Multiple checkbox on Resource Object but need to check for Application Instance.
One way is to achieve the same through validation handler

Hello!
I've got a WD application with "authentificate=true" option deployed on server. User source data for this server is "Database only". I need that WD application should use user accouns from ABAP instance. Is it possible to setup this and only this application for using user accounts from ABAP instance without changing user source data for whole java-instance?

Ya it is possible,look
1.In WD authentificate=true gives access to use local system (J2ee Server).
2.For this case some other system (R/3) come into picture as CUA(Central User Administration).use have to call RFC l with definition of the system where user exists.

How to create own server account for servlet application

hi friends..
i have created a servlet page which recieve some data from a j2me program..
i am running this aplication on my pc using http://localhost:8080/mypage
now i want to deploy my j2me program on my mobile phone and need to get data in my servlet page
for this i need to create my own server account for apache but i dont know how to create my own sserver account
please help me out if anyone knows it how to do it...

Intel AppUp store requires PayPal account for FREE applications

We've submitted our new application for approval on Wednesday but in attempting to include a request to have it listed on the Intel AppUp store, I find that we are required to have a PayPal account. Our corporation does not have one and I'm unclear why this would be needed for a FREE application.
Please help.

This is a bug in our system and would be fixed. You should submit your free app with a dummy paypal ID and it should work.

Single session for all Application Modules

Hello,
I've got an application that has several Application Modules. All these modules need some data that are set from time to time. I've written some code that calls getSession().getUserData().put("myData",myData). After this method was called in another Application Module i want to retrieve myData with getSession().getUserData().get("myData"). But the result depends if I use 2-tier or 3-tier. In 2-tie I get myData while in 3-tier I get null. My question is:
Is there a Session object or any other data instance that could be accessed from all Application Modules for on application instance.
E.g. I've got two user (A,B) who start my application. Through using my app several instance of Application Modules are created. All Application Modules that are created for the instance of User A should be able to share his user name and some other dynamic data while the Application Modules created for B should have no access to that data.
Doe anybody know if static data of an Application Module are a possible solution?

I am not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve, and with which version of JDeveloper/ ADF, technologies (JSP, Swing), etc, but I can tell you that I have been experimenting with single session accounts myself within a rich-client Swing environment, as I have experienced Oracle DBA guys who want to control user authentication via Oracle accounts (I have achieved this via the JCLoginDialog mechanism, and a bit of a hack)... Frank Nemphius (sp?) posted something about a white paper coming out on a related subject but I don't know where he is with that.
Anyway, I managed to do it in a prototype by nesting several application modules within a Root Application Module that was essentially simply a Container for the other application modules. Using this mechanism I was able to bind my root application module to any panel I wanted and it would inherit the roots Session.
ie. I used many application modules and it only used one Oracle Session.
However, my reservations -
1) This solution was not tested robustly!
2) I doubt this would be ideal for a distributed app with thousands of users - My solution is for a very complex app, with a limited number of users.
Finally, I cannot confirm this is a great solution - I can only tell you it worked in my prototype, and I am currently awaiting the ADF source - when my company and Oracle can decide what level of support we currently have and need!?!? - what exactly does being an "Oracle partner" mean??? Its all very boring and un-interesting to a Java person like me... ;-)
Once I have the source I will look at how it actually works and perhaps be able to answer questions like this more definitively. Hmm - I wonder if I could get the Oracle JDBC driver source too?? .... Is it written in C or C++?? I know them too... ;-)

Suggested Licensing for our applications

This is my first post, so this will seem like a very inexperienced question. I'm currently evaluating the purchase of Oracle 10g Standard for our company. It is a relatively small company. One of our applications has 12-20 concurrent users accessing the database at a time, but on a very light level (that's the most widely used application).
I'm curious as to what licensing options we should consider, and what are the limitations. Does a "5 Named Users" mean that all application users wont be able fetch the data at the same time? Or does that type of licensing refer to the quantity of "accounts" (user1, user2, user3) we may have on a server? Currently all users connect under the same account for each application (we create an account per application and provide appropriate access to the required database for each), so we have around 6 different accounts.
We are using SQL Server at the time, but we are starting to see the need for increased performance since one of our applications is what we consider data-intensive (when compared to our company size). Our server has two Xeon processors, does that mean that a "Named Users" License wont apply?
When the suggestion of using Oracle appeared, a co-worker expressed that he understood that, while the cost of the DBMS is affordable, the required hardware is too costly. I tend to differ. Im assuming that I will be able to host the Database Server in our existing hardware. Am I correct?

2x Xeon 3.0Ghz
4GB DDR2
Dell Rack Server PE2650
Raid 1 and Raid 5 (around 200GB)
Forgive my lack of knowledge, but Im no DB expert, I just consider myself a pseudo-functional user.

Your machine should work fine. However, I would not use Standard edition, I would use Standard Edition ONE which is specifily restricted to machines with a maximum of 2 processors. The costs follow.
If you want to pay a single fee for unlimited use of the database, then you would pay $5000.00 US dollars. If you want to pay per person then it would be $149.00 per person with a minimum of 5 people. Named users mean that if you have 20 employees that use the database, then you need to purchase 20 licenses even if only 5 users at a time would access the database. Restricted account help

I created a restricted account for my son.
I enabled simplified finder. I was able to restrict to certain applications.
however, I have some applications in my applications folder , that are installed to subfolders.
Such as Batman which installs to /Applications/Batman.
I cant move the Batman.app to /Applications as the application fails.
Minicart racing is another application that installs to subfolders.
Any way to select these applications in a restricted account?

I'm not sure why Batman is not showing up in the list. Apps in subfolders do show up on my Mac when I try to enable them with Parental Controls.
Try this. Log in you your admin account. Navigate with Finder to /Applications/Batman. Hold down control, option, and command, and drag Batman.app to the Desktop. This will create an alias. Drag the alias from your Desktop to /Applications. See if the Parental Controls will then see the app.

Can you create user accounts in LabWindows applications?

I need to be able to create password protected user accounts for my LabWindows application. I say there was a password control. Are there any other built-in functions in LabWindows to create and maintain user accounts for an application? Any add-ons?

CVI does not integrate native functions to tailor an application based on a user account, you must design and code this section on your own.
As an help in this matter, CVI offers a password control to permit a user to enter a password with the usual, asterisk-masked input field: where and how to store passwords and what to do with them is on your responsibility.
As an additional help, I have created a small sample project to permit hashing a text (e.g. a password): since hash does not permit to decode back the original text, you can safely store the hashed text without special precautions (OK, we're not designing a banking application, aren't we? ); to check a password entered by the user you only need to hash the password and compare the hash with the original, saved one: if they're the same, then you can permit the user to log in. Despite it's quite old (developed in CVI7), that sample still works correctly in newer IDEs: I have tested it in 2012SP1 without problems.

Any restriction for single SAP instance

Hello All,
One of the vendor advised to run CI only for a VCM application of estimated size of 50000 SAPs, Is it feasible or there is restriction ? And is there any uppler limit for the instance parameters ?
Please advice if anyone have experionce in this.

50.000 SAPs for a Central Instance is possible, however this seems a very big system.
Normally you do not include the Central Instance in your logon groups, therefore instance problems should not be sized to big.
What you should have in your landscape is a lot of application servers (in logon group also) to deal with the load the end users will cause.
On your central instance I also assume that your database is running, otherwise 50.000 SAPs is not possible.
CI + DB = 50.000 is possible because you will also have a lot of shadow processes in your DB for every workprocess in the different application servers.

Changing your Apple ID to your current, working email address will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address.

Brooks lansing if you create a new Administrator account does the same issue occur? If so then it is likely that there is a file permission failure and file permissions have been set for the existing Users instead of the groups they belong to.
Have you removed and reinstalled Photoshop Elements 11? This may reset the file permissions to the correct state to allow it to work under new accounts.

What to share on SAP Hanna database server for application instance

I wander what do I have to share on my SAP Hanna database server (installed via SAP_HANA_Server_Installation_Guide_en.pdf). for an application server installation.
Here it seems we have a little bit different situation than with a classical database. We have
we do not have "sapmnt". Should we create it and mount it on application server. I guess /usr/sap/trans should also be created.
Is there something more?

I think what the figure shows is a distributed DB system.
