Restrict cross CO area postings and allow cross company code postings

" There are two Controlling areas CA01 and CA02, for the controlling area CA02 the field CO code validation is inactive to allow cross company code postings ie., (Cost center created in one company code can be used as cost object in other company code ) Also this allows any WBS element created in controlling area CA01 as cost object in any of the company codes assigned in controlling area CA02,
Due to usage of WBS element which is created in CA01 controlling area as cost object in company code belongs to controlling area CA02, business is facing problem while doing the settlement run with error message " Document data for list of origins does not exist"
So, I have activated the field Co code validation in the controlling area CA02, which stopped the usage of WBS element between controlling areas. Also this had restricted usage of cost object between company codes with in controlling area CA02.
Now is there anyway to allow cost object usage between company codes assigned in one controlling area (CA02) and restrict usage of WBS element created in controlling area CA01 in any company code assigned in controlling area CA02.

Hi,
As you have already activated the Co Code validation you cant restrict that only to WBS. But you can have another option
Use the validation process to restrict these errors
This may help

  • Transporttaion Cross Docking between EWM and ECC across company codes

We have an EWM managed site in GB, and an IM managed site in IE.
We would like to use the transportation cross docking solution from within Service Parts Management to transfer goods from GB to IE, (ECC > EWM > ECC) across company codes.
Is this possible within the standard SAP solution?

    Hi Hari
Inter Company Purchase scenario works when the same material exists in both the company codes... I dont know how SAP would manage this in the case of Assets, when the Same Asset No is not existent in the other Co Code...
However, Refer 1523976  PurchaseOrderERPRequest_In_V1:Asset account assignment fails
This applies to EhP4 / EhP5 - But I dont know if you are using the enterprise service PurchaseOrderERPRequest_In_V1 ....
If not, better create an OSS message to SAP and check with them mentioning the notes that you have mentioned in your message

  • Cross-company code postings - FI validation

    Hi,
We start using the cross-company code postings (transaction OBYA) between company code A and company code B and have to give authorizations both company codes to the Finance users. The idea is to have a set of G/L accounts which are allowed to be used when company code A and B are posted via cross-company code posting.
SAP recommends to implement a validation in FI to restrict the Intercompany scenatios. I attempted to create a FI validation for complete document (call-point 3) with no success:
    1)
    IC Rule: BSEG-BUKRS = A and BSEG-BUKRS = B and BSEG-HKONT IN ACCOUNTSET
    Prerequisite: TRUE
    Check: IC rule
Message: E-  Account & not allowed for cross-company postings
When I test it, the Intercompany clearing account configured in OBYA, and which is in ACCOUNTSET, shows up in the error message, which unwanted.
    2)
    IC Rule 1: BKPF-BUKRS = '0017' AND BKPF-BUKRS = '0005'
IC Rule 2: BSEG-HKONT IN ACCOUNTSET
    Prerequisite: TRUE
Check: IC Rule 1 --> IC Rule 2
Message: E-  Account & not allowed for cross-company postings
No error message is issued at all, even if the G/L account is not in ACCOUNTSET.
Please advise what I am missing.

    Hi Nitin,
    Thank you for your feeback.
I just wanted to clarify that the cross-company code posting is when company code A can intitiate a posting to company code B simultaneously (for example Intercompany re-charge, cash concentration, etc.). The trigger for cross-company code posting is the company code field on the line item. If company code A is in the header (BKPF-BUKRS) and at least one document line item filled up as company code B, the system created two documents for each company code, offsetting the Intercompany clearing account, configured in OBYA.
    For example:
Posting via FB50: Leading company code = company code A (BKPF-BUKRS)
    Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 1; Amount 200; Company code A (as a default)
Item 2: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 2; Amount 100; Company code B (manually changed)
    Item 2: Credit; G/L account 2;                        Amount 300; Company code A (as a default)
    The systen creates two postings:
    Posting 1: company code A
    Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 1; Amount 200;
    Item 2: Credit; G/L account 2;                        Amount 300;
    Item 2: Debit ; I/C Clearing Account;              Amount 100;
    Posting 2: company code B
    Item 1: Debit; G/L account 1; Cost Center 2; Amount 100;
    Item 2: Credit;I/C Clearing Account;              Amount 100;
The only connection between the two is the cross-company code number (BKPF-BVORG), which assigned by the system once posted, as a logical connection.
I guess we could use a dedicated document type. If that's the case, how would the validation work then?
Coudl you please share more details on the BTE option?
    Thank you,
    Inna

  • While doing cross company code postings I get an error

    Hi experts,
I have an issue on cross company code postings through FB60. There is a vendor account which has been extended to both company codes. The amount of invoice is Rs.10000 of which 6000 to be accounted in company code 1000 and 4000 in company code 5000. When this is done we get an error 'A unique company code has not been assigned to company number A001'.
After trying several options, I have found one solution. In the test system I Went to classify FI  document types for document splitting, against document type KR transaction 0300 (Vendor invoice) was there. I changed to 0000 (unspecified posting). Once this was done, I was able to post cross company transactions without any problem.
I would like to know as to what would be the impact? Would this change create any other issue?
I request you to give your expert opinion on this.

    Ramkumar B.

    Dear,
When you are posting vendor Invoice through FB60 then system creates accounting document "KR" and when document splitting is activated in system the you have to assign Doc type KR to Transaction 0300 and 0001.
This is standard requirement. There will not be any changes by doing this.
    Hope it is clear..

  • Value date cross company code postings

    Dear all,
it is possible to influence the value date on a company code level via the transaction OB68. With this transaction you can state that the current date is used as the default value for the value date when entering line items. This works fine when posting a G/L posting within the same company code.
When entering a cross company code posting, the indicator in transaction OB68 is ignored and the document date is used to be proposed as default value for the value date.
Does anyone know which SAP parameters can influence the value date for cross company code postings ? If this is not standard SAP possible, does anyone already encountered this problem and, if so, how did one solve this issue ?
    Many thanks,

  • Can one business area be assigned to several company codes? how to do it?

Can one business area be assigned to several company codes?
    what are the configurations?
    thanks

    Dear Humility,
If, I am not wrong, Business Area is assigned to Company Code via Finance (i.e. NO Direct assignment, but can be used across company code). You can assign a business area to an org. object through the account assignment tab.
Business areas are generally company-code independent. You can post to them from any company code. The Business area field shows up as an additional account assignment when posting to an account as long as the field is turned on in configuration. The field can be made a required entry during posting.
If certain company codes are not active in specific business areas, you can use a validation to prevent postings to this business area from the company codes specified.
Important Transactions, related to Business Area Configuration:
    OX03     Create Business Area
OMJ7     assign Business Area to Plant / Valuation Area and Division
OVF2     Org Unit: Sales Area - Business Area Determination rule
OVF0     Org Unit: Business Area Determination rule
OVF1     Sales Area - Business Area Determination rule Slsorg/DstCh
    Best Regards,

    Hi All,
We have One company code, under that we have two credit Control Areas.
In the Config settings, we have maintained for (Assining the compnay code to Credit Control Area) to one CCA.
Now, it is while creating the Invoice for another CCA. It is throwing the below error.

    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,
To do this you have to go to the path SPROFINANCIAL ACCOUNTING-ACCOUNTS RECIEVABLES/PAYBLES-CREDIT MANAGEMENT-CREDIT CONTROL ACCOUNTASSIGN PERMITTED CONTROL AREAS TO COMPANY CODE.  In this activity you can enter additional credit control areas which are allowed for each company code, in addition to this default credit control area.
You can enter these credit control areas in the line item or let the system determine them from the order data, customer data, or a user exit in the order. This way you can use the control area as a flexible internal control instrument and data which has to be posted in the same company code for accounting reasons no longer has to be managed in the same control area.

  • There are 2 places to define Company Code, which is correct.

There are 2 places to define company code i.e.:
IMG -> Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> Financial Acc -> Define Company, and
IMG -> Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> Financial Acc -> Edit, Copy, Delete, Check Company code.
I know the one path updates table T001 and the other T880 but I don't understand the differences... probably as I am abapper.
Edited by: Gemini Twin on Jun 15, 2011 10:43 AM

    Hi Gemini,
Company and Company Code are different.
The first path is to define Company:
IMG -> Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> Financial Acc -> Define Company
Second path is to define Company Code:
IMG -> Enterprise Structure -> Definition -> Financial Acc -> Edit, Copy, Delete, Check Company code.
(the practice when creating any new config in SPRO is to used Copy function instead of Create)
We can make do without Company. In my customer's system, we do not set up Company.
Company Code is a must and is the first step that you need to define before defining anything else (Pers Area, PSA, etc).
Chart of Account also linked to Company Code, not Company. The two are different, please do not confused them into one.

  • There are no areas to post to in company code 0637

    Hi Friends,
I have done Asset Config, created the asset and posted dep for period 01/2010
When am running AFAB for period 02/2010 the system through an error message as below
*There are no areas to post to in company code 0637*
    Can anyone do suggest.
Highly appreciate for the quick response.
    Regards,
    Srinivas Muthyala

    Hello Srinivas ,
Which selection parameters do you run AFAB with ?
Can you check in your system whether AA690 may be justified?
    For example:
If you run a repeat execution of depreciation for period 12 in Fiscal
    Year 2008.
However, there is no entry in TABA for Fiscal Year 2008. Therefore
you need to run AFAB in "planned posting run" not in "repeat run".
Please note that you have to run first planned depreciation for your
period xx before you might try to to a repeat run.
Can you check TABA and see which one is the next period you should
post to? Then start a planned depreciation run for that period.
    regards
    Ray

  • Depreciation error :There are no areas to post to in company code SN00

    Hi,
When I am running depreciation (AFAB) for a main asset for a particular period, I am getting an error as "There are no areas to post to in company code SN00".
On further checking, the solution seems given is as follows" Using the Customizing functions, check whether the areas to be posted have been given a posting cycle in the company code specified."
Could not understand what does that mean.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dusmanta

    Hi,
You have to define how depreciation area post to general ledger.
For this in SPRO, in Asset Accounting go to 'Integration with the General Ledger' and in to
'How Depreciation Area post to General Ledger'.
For your dereciation area, check whether 'Area Posts in Realtime' is selected.
    regards,
    Priya Rajesh.

  • How to restrict editing of some paragraphs and allow for others in same document?

I have a client that wants to put together standard proposals that have boiler plate information (long paragraphs and some imagery) that will not change. In the same document they have other information that is to be customized by sales teams (text and images). Sometimes, they will have a sentence or a phrase which needs changing in the middle of a long paragraph but the rest of it remains the same. Since these documents are shared and edited by multiple parties, they would like to restrict some paragraphs from editing while making other areas editable, perhaps on the same page of the document. Is there a way to do this in Acrobat Pro XI?

Thanks for that, yes I’ve been creating pdfs in InDesign for better layout results. We want to generate a template that our international sales team can use for templates, sharing over a server, and trying to prevent them from ruining text flow, image flow etc. just wondering where my limitations are at.\
Thanks for your help. Anymore suggestions are very welcome.

  • Prevent cross-company code postings for certain document type

    Hi all!
I am looking for a possibility to prevent users from posting a "cross-company code posting" just for a certain document type.
I checked validation rules and BTEs but without success. Do you have an idea?
    Thanks for any support.
    Michael

Thanks for your reply. I have already tried to use a validation rule, but without success.
It did not work as the relevant field "New company code" (NEWBK) in not part of BKPF or BSEG, but (only) of structure RF05A. Thus, I cannot use the field in a validation rule.
Or is there a way to make RF05A fields available for use in validation rules?

  • Trnasfer of Asset frm one Business Area to Another in same Company code

    Hi Experts
In my Asset Accounting Business Area is mandatory field and when I transfer asset from one business area to another business area system change the asset number from old to new number, the problem is that suppose asset A with useful life of 10 years already utilized three years in business area 1010 and after three years when I transfer this asset to another business area 1020 system again calculate 10 years in new asset which is wrong it should be seven years because 3 years already used in previous business area, please help me that how to resolve this issue.

    Hi
If you are transferring to a new asset - You can maintain the useful life in the new asset master as 7 yrs
Else, do the settings in IMG > AA > Transactions > Transfers > Inter CO Asset Trf > Define Trf variants.... Here, you can try to configure which fields must be taken over during transfers... This is usually used for Cross Comp Trf.. however, try to use in your case and see if it works
