Restricting User Editing Date Picker Field Manually In Adobe Form

Hi Experts,
I have an Date Picker field, which list down the calender to select date. But, along with that, it allows user to input any data manually. I want the user to select the date only from the calender and the user should not be allowed to edit the field manually. As option to do that ? I tried all available types and nothing seems to be fulfilling my requirement.

Hi satheesh
This is possible with a script in the EXIT event of the date field.
It uses a regular expression to check the entered value for a specific pattern.
Allows are dates in these way: [9|99] [.|/|-] [9|99] [.|/|-] [99|9999].

In a detail tabular form I am referencing a date picker field from the master form as default value.
This is the situation in the detail form:
TABULAR FORM
Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- the field's name in the detail tabular form
Default Type: Item (application or page item name)
Default: P68_FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a field in the master form and also is Date Picker format
Reference Table Owner: SAMPEDRORIVEROS
Reference Table Name: BITACORAABOGADO
Reference Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a date field in the database
At execution time I have the error:
report error:
ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I think it is because i must use to_date and to_char in order to change the datatype and i have tried using:
Default: to_date(to_char(:P68_FECHAREGISTRO,'DD-MON-YYYY'),'DD-MON-YYYY')
and in Default Type: PL/SQL Expression or Function
but I get a different message at execution time:
report error:
ORA-01722: invalid number
Could you explain me what is the problem??

Handling RAW data types (from SAP) in Adobe forms - Illegal Arg Exception

Hi,
I have a scenario where I have to get data of type RAW in SAP to Adobe Forms using web dynpro java. What is the corresponding type in Web Dynpro / Adobe Forms.
I am using Adaptive RFC and when I get the model from SAP function module, the RAW type is created as Binary type in the data dictionary of Web Dynpro.
When I map the model context to controller context, the type is taken as byte[].
I tried to set the attribute for this field and I got the Illegal Argument Exception error.
I am using NWDS 7.0.9 and NW04s SP12. Pl help. I am working on this since 10 days but could get no solution.
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

Issue with the RAW data types is resolved now. I have changed the data type of the field into String in the dictionary (web dynpro).. I have changed the corresponding getters and setter functions from byte[] to string. And everything working fine now. I got the Illegal Argument exception initially because I was trying to display the binary data type fields on the adobe form or view which I am not supposed to do.
Also it is better to create separate view attributes in the context to get the values rather than mapping the model attributes directly in the form or view.

Is there to restrict dates avaiable in a date picker field?

I want to use a date picker field, but want to restrict the selectable dates. I am aware that I can perform a validation on the field after the fact, but is there a way to restrict the date visible to the end user in the date picker calender?

As I know there is no way do that for Apex standard datepicker.
You can check alternative solution e.g. using jQuery

I have a HTMLDB 2.0 app that I have ported to APEX 3.1. I have one field that is a date picker field which has a before regions computation on it that calculates an expiration date. For some reason, the text area shows the HTML code of the page, not the calculated date. No idea why. Anyone? TIA

How to use the separate symbol in the text field in the adobe form.

I dont know how to use the separate symbol to make a paragraph separate into several lines correctly in the text field in the adobe form.
Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:
CONCATENATE
'1、aaaaaaaaaaa；'
'2、bbbbbbbbb '
'3、ccccccccccc'
'4、ddddddddd'
INTO remark .

But I found all the content aren't paragraph separate correctly in the text field in the adobe form when I run the WDA.

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

How to change the Field Symbol, so Adobe Forms takes it as a Table?

Hi guys,
I created an Field Symbol, in a Interface which I use for Adobe Forms. The type of the Field Symbol is STANDARD TABLE, and this field symbol I fill with data from another program.
But the problem is that in adobe forms, this Field Symbol is taken as TEXT FIELD and not as Table... and this shows me a Dump because it can't convert Internal Table to type C (the dump is like that).
What I need, is how to change the Field Symbol, so Adobe Forms takes it as a Table?
I looked at Adobe Form, and found this:
The Type Category of the Field Symbol is DICTIONARY TYPE and I think I need to change it to Internal Table as shown in the right picture.
Does someone have any idea?

To what i understand your requirement, you need to pass data from Field symbol to internal table in Adobe form.
You have done it correct partially. I have replicated your scenario and steps are below -
1) Create a Z structure
2) Create Z Table Type
3) Create Adobe Interface with Table & Field Symbol. Also do coding as shown to assign the internal table populated in driver program to filed symbol.

Writing the value from an unbound Date picker field to a timestamp field.

Hi,
I am having a frustrating time trying to write the results of a date field to a Timestamp field in an oracle10 table in APEX 3.1. The Date Picker correctly returns 01-JUN-2008 23:59 into the date picker page item :P60_EXTENTION_DATE (As a varchar I believe).
Using a plsql function similar to the following I am trying to write the date to a timestamp field eg.

update customers set extention_date = :P60_EXTENTION_DATE where ROW_ID = 34;
end;
This without fail this gives me stupid errors it wants 2 digit years, it wants AM/PM.
I have tried this:
update customers set extention_date = to_date(:P60_EXTENTION_DATE) where ROW_ID = 34;
and:
update customers set extention_date = to_date(:P60_EXTENTION_DATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI') where ROW_ID = 34;
How can the date picker return a date that oracle "ORA-01821: date format not recognized" ? It just seems un-intuitive (fricken retarded) to me.
I have tried about 30 combinations date picker, to_date formats etc. and it is driving me nuts, can someone please tell me which combination of date picker and to_date function I need to make this work.

Add Users from people picker field to sharepoint group

Hi,
I have created infopath form and added people picker control and then created data connection to add users to sharepoint group.
Used UserGroup webservice and "AddUserToGroup" operation. If I select single user in people picker and click submit button, web service data connection adding user to sharepoint group without any issue but it's not working for multiple users.If
I select multiple users in people picker, web service adding only first user to sharepoint groups. In our company we do not prefer custom coding.
Can anybody help me out to resolve this issue?

Editable field in a Adobe Form

Hi, guys.
I gotta insert an editable field in an adobe print form, but I can't make it editable.
I selected 'User Entered- Required' in the 'Value' palette of the field, but, after the launch of the program, it's not editable yet.
I also tried to valorize the field 'fillable' of an SFPDOCPARAMS-like structure, but this valorization ('X') have stopped the launch of the form.

in that click on defaults tab...
there in preview...change it ro interactive form....
now check it in pdf preview...
The preview type affects Designer's preview only, not SAP spool's preview, which
is always non-interactive (unless, in the ABAP program, you set the fillable
parameter of function module FP_JOB_OPEN to X or N).
Thefillable field determines whether a form can have interactive features.
By default, it cannot. If you set fillable to 'X', interactive features are enabled
and Adobe Reader grants the so-called Reader rights (in particular, the user
can enter data and save the form together with the data). If fillable equals
'N', the user can make entries in the form, but cannot save the form together
with the entries.

i m asking second time the questiion because i was not answered preivously, so please dont mind if it is a duplicate one,
question was: i created tabular form as shown in example.
i want to validate username as you see in my example to restrict user to enter the same value in username field before submit page.
e.g when user is entering data as u see test in username in first row, when he/she goes to second row and type the same username like test " message will appear or restrict user that already typed or in use"..

Stick the below code in the Page Header > Javascript > Execute when Page Loads field.

How to Pick fields for calculations in forms?

I have all the fields in place, with all apparent formatting required for each. Using Properties > Calculate > Pick, Adobe will show me the list of all of my fields, but will not let me populate them in the Pick field individually. I can Select All and Deselect All, but choosing individual fields is totally hit or miss (~95% miss), with no apparent reason. I've been able to select fields that are not formulated as numbers, but cannot select those that are. I was able to select QtyRow9 and UnitPriceRow10 for TotalPriceRow1, but nothing else. I can even change the quantity and unit price in Preview and it calculates correctly. However, there are over 50 more calculations in this form.
My manager was able to open my file and Pick fields on the Calculate tab. After he saved the file and sent it back to me, I still cannot Pick as I would like to. I have Adobe 10.1.1 Standard, while he has Adobe 9.1.2 Standard (he was able to open my file with no problem). We both used Tools > Forms > Edit, although his buttons are located differently than mine. Any ideas what I might be missing?

Pravender --> Yes fields are available when testing datasource in RSA3, but replication does not bring anything new (no selection possible on those fields)
MD --> Ok for the fields not allowed, but here is the need on my side. Maybe somebody knows a workaround to get this selection available ? (or another way to perform it)
I can see in the 4th tab (name is "update") in infopackage screen (BW), a frame named "time-dependant data", and here i have a possibility to filter according dependance period, but only 3 possibility :
- fixed time interval
- routine time interval
- variable for interval
but none of the three allows me to do what I want ...

Hello,
you need to provide the information via the interface, which you create for the Adobe form.
And then pass this values via the following function module inside your generation report.
CALL FUNCTION fm_name
check standard report : FP_EXAMPLE_01 as an example!

Item line data not flowing into SAP Adobe form layout

Hello Gurus,
I am currently working on adobe form layout for a sales document in SAP, i have created a master page
as well as a couple of pages in the design view. Data at the header level are working properly, but the item data
are not flowing into the layout, as nothing appears in the print preview for the item level of the sales document.
I have done all the necessary binding with all the right field names, my subform to the best of my knowledge seems to be well
defined, but yet to no avail.
I would like to know what yet could be the reason for this issue and how i can go about fixing it.

In our project, we have the same requirement but I am one step behind than you. I am able to generate the PDF form but not able to generate the data. Means all the fields are coming as disabled fields.
