Retesting when test fails
Dear Gurus,
I have a scenario that when recording inspection results, a test might fail, I'm using inspection points to record a new point as retest, but it is not functioning well as the final results in the certificate is the average of the entered results, which is not acceptable by my customer as he needs to display the retest result only, any ideas?
Regards,
MaX
It can depend on the inspection you are using and if you are batch managed.
If an 03, go into config for the inspection point identifier and you should find a check box that says something like "last inspection point valid". Click this on.
If an 04, and you ar batch managed report the value from the batch as in standard SAP the full insp point functionality is not available for 04 and as a result only the last valuated inspection point is copied to the batch.
If an 04 and not batch managed, when a retest is done, go into the first inspection point and mark the test result as invalid using the / in the attribute field. This tells SAP not to include this in the averaging. It still averages but you'll only have an n of 1.

Any ideas?I see from your user profile that you are a newcomer to the forums, so
allow me to give you a tip.
You'll get better advice from other forum members if they understand
what your goal is, and what your problem is. So:
1. State what your high-level goal is, what you are trying to do.
Often posters will ask obscure, technical questions and perhaps in
turn be given obscure, technical answers, but there was a much better
solution to their problem that were never mentioned, because they
never stated what their real problem was.
2. Second, and I can't stress it enough, post a minimal, complete,
example program that demonstrates your problem. In other words:
a) don't just post a text description, because that will always be vague
and forum members will either give up on you or misunderstand you,
answering a dozen questions that you didn't ask. At the very least, this
results in dozens of back-and-forth messages as some kind forum member
tries to extract the truth from you, like a dentist pulling a tooth.
b) don't just post a snippet of code. The free variables and general context
will be missing, and people tend to miss where a bug actually lies.
c) don't post your actual program. It's too long and too much of it is
irrelevant to the problem at hand. The longer the code, the less likely it is
that forum members will take the time to read it.
d) By posting a minimal, complete, example program you are forced to write it!
This is, in fact, what you should always do when faced with a stubborn bug,
so you might as well learn to do it now. The stress on minimal indicates you
should really reduce the problem to its essense: often when you do this, you
discover the problem, and are able to solve it yourself! Excellent!! And by
making your code a complete program, forum members can copy, paste, compile and
run it in seconds. If they have to do extra work to run your code, I guarantee
you that you will lose 90% of your audience. So if you want 10 times more
help to solve your problem you should make the effort to isolate your problem
in an example program. Showing you're willing to put the effort in will signal
to forum members that you're worthy of their time. If you just lazily lob
a question into the forum, don't be surpised that it will generate only offhand

WRT54G ver 6, MTU test fails when trying to connect to Xbox360 live
MTU test fails when trying to connect wirelessly to Xbox360 live. Firmware is current. I have a WRT54G version #6, Motorola Surfboard SB5101 Cable Modem, running AOL HighSpeed Broadband through Time Warner Cable. Changing the MTU setting does not work. I have tried several other suggestions found on these boards but nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
hi twhale.... If you had already tried the settings i posted ... in such case you can do one thing .... access router setup page ... under Security ... uncheck block wan request ... click save settings .... Under Applications & Gaming tab ... click port range forwarding .... forward ports 88 & 3074 for the static Ip of the X-BOX ... click save settings . Click save settings ... check X-BOX live test ... if still shows the same error ... upgrade/reflash the firmware ...

Why do Motion Tweens fail when tested?
I have created a motion tween in CS4 that works perfectly when scrubbing with the playhead. However, when testing, the motion tween fails yet the rest of the animation plays perfectly. Does anybody know of any issues that could cause this?
Ned:
Thanks for sticking with me through this. Yes, I'm aware tweens are not new. It is the new way that Motion tweens are implemented in CS4 that I am talking about, not what are now known as classic tweens. Anyway, I figured it out and for the sake of the next Flasher that experiences this issue, I'd like to explain how it got solved. I have rarely developed a Flash project where I animated on the timeline. I always did my animation programatically and used only the first frame of the timeline to make everything happen. This meant that dynamically loading symbols and assets from the library required instantiating and loading these assets with actionscript and linking.
For example, if I had a movie clip named thisMC_mc in the library, I would export it to actionscript under the properties menu and give it a class name such as ThisMC. From there, in the document class I would tell Flash I was going to use it at some point by instantiating it at the top of the class like so:
public var thismc:thisMC = new thisMC();
Once this was done it was in scope and I could load and manipulate the movieClip at any time using the name thismc.
So, why did my Motion tweens fail on this project. Well, there were times I would place a library symbol on the stage at authoring time and since it was already on the stage, I did not need to instantiate it as shown above. I just needed to make sure it had an instance name in the properties inspector. And because I did everything from the first frame of the timeline, the MovieClip remained in scope. With this project, I just thought that principle followed through to other frames on the timeline as well. If they were placed on any frame during authoring time I figured they were in scope of the document class.
Apparently, this is not the case. because the tweens would not function when testing. As soon as I started thinking in programatic animation terms, the first thing I did was to instantiate the tweened MovieClips in the document class as shown above. The tweens started working like a charm. This probably occurred because there are event listeners and code in the document class associated with the tweened MovieClips.
I can only assume this issue has to do with scope and that I missed it because I rarely use more than one frame for animation so I wasn't thinking about it correctly.
If anybody can shed more light on exactly what went on it would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I actually like the new way of doing motion tweens in CS4. It only took a little studying and it all made sense. They are actually easier to set up and I love the fact that you only need to work with one instance all the way through the tween and the tween is not broken up by a bunch of keyframes. I have found that most hardcore Flashers complain about something everytime a new version is released. Mostly just because they are used to the current version and now they are out of their comfort zone. CS4 is a major change but now that I've been working in it for about two months I don't want to go back to any earlier versions. So go ahead and upgrade, once you get use to it I think you'll love it. -
[svn] 3718: Make sure the server is stopped even when a unit test fails.
Revision: 3718
Author: [email protected]
Date: 2008-10-17 13:03:17 -0700 (Fri, 17 Oct 2008)
Log Message:
Make sure the server is stopped even when a unit test fails. Thanks to Alex for the fix.
Modified Paths:
blazeds/trunk/modules/core/build.xmlI had the same issue after upgrading from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 and changing my main SSL cert.
The solution was to make sure the correct cert was listed in:
/etc/openldap/slapd.conf
as well as:
/etc/openldap/slapd.d/cn=config.ldif
It looks as though the slapd.conf file gets updated properly when you select an SSL cert in the Server Admin app, but the cn=config.ldif does not. That is the one that was hanging my server up.
Hope this helps! -
BPEL test failed when calling same webserivce twice
Our BPEL calls same web service, same operation method twice with different parameter values.
There is only one copy of assert value we could provide in xml.
The BPEL test failed because one of the input value does not match the assert value.
Is this supported at all?Fusion 11.1.1.3.0
You are right, if a wire has an assert, it appears all invokes will call the assertion. There is no distinction possible to test between 1st, and subsequent invokes at runtime. All invokes must look the same for the assert to be consistent.
My experience with the JDev 11g Test Suite shows me that the limitations are huge. 10g BPEL had abilities to test BPEL variables internally, we are waiting for the functionality to be ported. -
Color LaserJet MFP M476nw Fax Test failed
I bought a new LaserJet M476nw, but my fax test fails everytime through the laserjet setup and HP utilities software. The Laserjet is connected on a network and using Vista.
I have a dedicated fax line connected from the jack to the icon with the jack on the back of the laserjet. I can hear dial tone on the fax line when connected to a phone. I have called the fax line and it is rings normally and no answer. I also tried connecting a phone to the laserjet phone icon, while the fax line is connected to the laserJet, I can hear the dial tone from the phone.
I do not know what else I should do to get the fax test to pass, so I can start faxing on this new machine. Any suggestion is appreciated.
Mike
This question was solved.
View Solution.Actually this problem is now solved.
It was a brand new machine, so since I really didn't have any data so I did a restore default. It rebooted and now it passes. -
Massive stability issues - Disk Utility repair failed, hardware test failed
Hi,
I am having massive stability issues. The installer will not install anything, programs are quitting randomly, and it is getting very annoying!
I read through a lot of posts and I have attempted to:
Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed.
I did a Hardware test: but i had an error relating to fonts (?), couldn't see anything on the screen and I couldn't do anything.
Is there something else I could do that I haven't tried?
I have had my PB for a little over a year and have had no issues like this before. All of these issues seemed to start when I was playing a game and it suddenly just quit; I then couldn't go back into the game or re-install the game.
Help!!
12" Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz Mac OS X (10.4.6) 768 RAMHi, Dan.
You wrote: "Repair my disk using the install cd: but that failed."That's a big problem. You won't get very far until the problems noted by Repair Disk, the function I presume you ran based on your description, are sorted out. It's possible the hard drive has failed.
If the Apple Hardware Test failed, that's another significant problem. If it produces messages you can read that describe the failure, write them down. The machine may need to be serviced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
As to your next steps, first run the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified to see what's up with your disk and if anything can be done to correct that.
Good luck!

WebDynpro for Abap Test failed (System Admin/Support/WD)
Hello,
I'm using EP 7.0 and I'm trying to test travel&expenses (Ehp3) WD for Abap from System Admin/Support Desk: Integration of SAP Applications/WebDynpro and we get the following error: Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Unable to parse template...the problem occured at position 275. Cannot process expression <IView.PCDUnit.ShortID> because Unable to get PCD Unit com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.WebDynpro.
System contector test is ok. Please, could you help me?
Thank youHello Michael,
Ok, I forget system connector and support tests. Web AS parameter are supposed to be ok:
Web AS Host Name: host.domain:port (from smicm tx)
Web AS Host Name: /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/
Web AS Protocol: http
but the SAP Web AS Connection test fails. When trying to execute the iView it works. Does it mean that is it correct? Why WAS connection test fails?
In the other hand, when iView is displayed, it asks for user and password because the R/3 user is locked. Why R/3 user is locking everytime?
Thank you&Regards -

Thanks for your replies.
The first dialog shown when testing the AM shows the correct database connection. And the connection is ok. I can see the tables list.
oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection.
the Application Module connection doesn't connect. I right-click on Application Module and select Test. Then connect and then the error message appears.
And about NLS files. My NLS_LANG parameter in registry is AMERICAN_AMERICA.ar8mswin1256.
To test it I used default value (American.al32utf8) but I have error message yet. -
VI Analyzer Front Panel Size and Postion Test fails
Hi
We make a lot of use of the VI Analyser and I have been playing with the configuration settings to try and make it only fail the tests that matter to us and I have one test I do not understand correctly.
From the LabVIEW help
Panel Size and Position—Checks that a front panel
completely resides within the bounds of the screen. The test also checks whether
the front panel is larger than the maximum specified width and height. If you
are using a multi-monitor system, the test fails if the panel does not reside
entirely within the bounds of the primary monitor. This test works only on
standard, control, and global VIs.
I would like to apply this test, a simple check developers are not creating huge VI, it sounds simple enough, but I cannot seem to get this test to pass.
I am working with two monitors and this test fails when my VI is on either monitor with the message "This VI's front panel does not reside entirely within the specified bounds (1280 x 1024)" my current screen resolutionis 1280 x 1024, so I assume as long as my VI front panel fits within one screen it should be a pass.
I can clearly see my that VI front panel (and block diagram for that matter) fits within the screen of either monitor. If I look at the VI properties of my VI the Window Size is 474 x 513, could anybody please suggest when why this might be failing.
cheers

Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Norbert,
Thanks for the prompt reply, my asking the question and your reply has made me play with this a little deeper and I have managed to solve my problem.
In case anyone else has a similar problem here are the details.
When you have two monitors and look at the Windows properites you see one monitor is identified as 1 and the other as 2, thses identities are based on the graphics card and the which monitor is plugged into which ouptput connector. You can then chose which monitor you wish to act as your primary monitor. You would suspect it would not matter once you have selected your primary monitor BUT IT DOES.
My inital set-up
Left Hand Monitor - idenity 2 selected to be primary monitor
Right Hand Monitor - identiy 1
With this set-up everything looks and acts as I expect it to task bar, icons etc on my primarry monitor. However if you run the VI Analyser it will fail Panel Size and Position on BOTH the left and right hand monitors.
I crawlled under my desk and swapped the monitors cables round so now the set-up is
Left Hand Monitor - idenity 1 selected to be primary monitor
Right Hand Monitor - identiy 2
Now the VI Analysers Panel Size & Position Tests will pass on the left hand monitor but fail on the right hand monitor, just as would expect.
It appears that LabVIEW is looking not only at the windows "Primary Monitor" setting but also the identies, this does not seem the behaviour I would expect nor the correct behaviour.
cheers

Hard Drive Broken: Long Generic test fails!
Hello
I just did a SeaGate test to test my hard drive, and the test fails already after 10 seconds! I discover the problem when i get errors with documents in Word and other programs. When i try to save them, the program says that the permission of the file is denied. When i try to save to external HD or USB, there is no problem...
My computer is only 1 year and a couple of months !?Hello Honkerd,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that your SeaGate test fails after 10 seconds. I will do my best to assist you! To begin, I will provide an article that shows all SeaGate errors: How do I interpret SMART diagnostic utilities results?
Usually, issues like this occur when there is a corruption on an Administrator profile, or if you are not using an Administrator profile. I would create a new Administrator account and try it out. Let me know what happens!
Thanks for choosing the HP Forums! Have a great day!

Hi, I'm running the following setup:
Mac OS X 10.8.4
Virtual Box 4.2.16 r86992
Oracle Developer Days (don't know the version, just downloaded it)
SQL Developer 3.2.20.09
Networking is host-only, I tried bridged but that doesn't make a difference for the problem at hand. I can ping my virtual box just fine, telnet to port 1521 looks good too:

When I create a new connection with sql developer, with the same hostname / IP (192.168.56.101), Port 1521 (didn't change that) and SID orcl, basic connection type, it can't even connect, throwing the error mentioned in the subject:
Status : Failure -Test failed: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
I have looked at various threads in the forums here but I'm still stymied why the connection seems to be ok, yet sql developer has problems with it. If I create an ssh tunnel so sql developer only has to connect to localhost it works:
ssh -L 1521:192.168.56.101:1521 -l oracle 192.168.56.101

This may be of varoius reasons..
Is the database that you are connecting on the same PC?
You have specified Hostname: localhost.
If not please replace it with the IP of that server.
Else please check whether the database listener is started or not. if not please start the listener.
Check the SID by tnsping command.
Hope this will help you..
Thanks

SQL Developer: Failure -Test failed: IO Error: Got minus one from a read ca
SQL Developer: Failure -Test failed: IO Error: Got minus one from a read call
Hi,
I am sorry I know this is probably most frequently asked question, but I have no idea what I should be searching for.
I looked up the error above to see if i could find a solution, but unfortunately I did not.
Right Let me start of with I am a Total Noob.. well it terms of having to install Oracle 11g myself.
In my University they hosted a database, and assigned us a User & pass thats how I have been using SQL Developer,
but since I am not longer a university student. I need to use Oracle Database.
So I downloaded Oracle 11g Enterprise Installed it on my laptop that i don't use much.
Name the Database: Rudu
It did all the installation, and seemed to have succeeded, I went on to the https://localhost:1158/em (Though am not sure why em? whats the deal with that? I thought it would be https://localhost:1158/Rudu) anyways....
Logged in using the System user.
Went to Users and created a user called: RUDUHR
Thought yeah its working... went on to my other laptop opened up SQL Developer.
Created Connection with the following Settings
Con Name: RK
User: RUDUHR
Pass: TEST
Con Type: Basic
Role: Default
Hostname: 192.168.0.8
Port: 1158
SID: Rudu
It don't work though Why is that??????
192.168.0.8 is laptop that has oracle 11g installed and running.
I even tried using SYSTEM user to connect, but same error
also tried changing SID to em, it made no difference I keep getting the error Status: Failure -Test failed: IO Error: Got minus one from a read call
So ya am clueless... LOL I only know how to create tables and stuff not how to configure a Database.
and just so you know I did forward the port on me router to correct laptop. It don't work though Why is that??????
192.168.0.8 is laptop that has oracle 11g installed and running.
It is because you don't read documentation.
1158 is the default port for Enterprise Manager
1521 is the default port for Sqlnet.
Your port number is incorrect.
Needless to say, you can create your tables in EM too.
As per the Forums Etiquette post (first link when you get to this page) it is recommended you read documentation before asking Yet Another Doc Question.
