Retrieving Source Column name for a target

Hi
I have a requirement where in if an interface errors out because of some constraint violation in the target column, the error message should contain the following details
a. One lined Error message (Not with the ORA codes and complete details)
b. The source column mapped to the tarteg column that has violated the constraint.
c. The exact row where the error has occured while transferring the data.
I am using IKM SQL Control Append and as per the requirement the Flow Control is set to 'No'
Kindly help me resolve this issue.
Thanks

Hi Nidhish,
You can configurate all those information using a ODI constraint (type "User Constraint") at target datastore.
Did you already try it?

  • Finding source database table/column name for a column in a view

    Hi i need to be able to identify the original database table/column name for a column in a view.
    e.g. say i have a view like this
    create v1 as select a.name fname, b.name bname, c.name cname,......
    from u1.names a, u2.names b. u3.names c
    where .....
    Now I want to find out that the database table/column name for the fname, bname and cname columns in the view v1, which in this instance is u1.name.name, u2.names.name, u3.names.name.
    But i need to be able to do it for any view. Short of parsing the SQL is there an easy way of doing this?
    Now obviusly I can't do this for virtual columns but I will know my column is not virtual as it has an index on it.

    But i need to be able to do it for any view. Short of
    parsing the SQL is there an easy way of doing this?No, parsing the SQL is the only way. Good luck it is not something I would want to attempt.

  • Getting the Source File name Info into Target Message

    Hi all,
    I want to get the Source file name Info into Target message of one of the fields.
    i followed Michal BLOG /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Requirement :
    1) I am able to get the Target file name as same as the source file name when i check the ASMA in Sender & Receiver Adapter , with out any UDF...............this thing is OK
    2) I took One field extra in the target structure Like "FileName" & I mapped it Like
                              Constant(" " )--UDF-----FileName
    I Checked the Option ASMA in Both Sender & Receiver Adapters
    Here iam getting the Target File name as same as Source file name + Source File name Info in the Target Field " FileName".
    I Dont want to get the Target File name as same as Source file name. I want like Out.xml as Target file name.
    If i de-select the Option ASMA in Adapters means it is showing " null" value in the target field "FileName".
    Please Provide the Solution for this
    Regards
    Bopanna

    Hi All,
    Iam able to do this by checking the Option ASMA in only sender adapter itself

    I am using SSIS to extract fixed width data into a flat file destination and I keep getting below error. I have tried almost everything in this forum but still no solution. can anyone help me out to solve this problem.
    [Flat File Destination [220]] Error: Failed to write out column name for column "Column 2".

    Thanks

    Hi Giss68,
    Could you check the Advanced tab of the Flat File Connection Manager to see whether the InputColumnWidth and the OutputColumnWidth properties of the Column2 has the same value? Please refer to the following link about the same topic:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10292091/how-do-i-fix-failed-to-write-error-while-exporting-data-to-ragged-right-flat-fil
    If it doesn’t work, please post the sample data and the advanced settings of Column2 for further analysis.

  • Retrieve available server names for MS SQL server

    hello
    Can somebody tell me how I can retrieve available server names for MS SQL server.
    When MS SQL server loads it asks for server name to connect but on the same time has a combobox with the available server names(instace+database name). How can I provide the same functionality in my application?
    Thank you in advance.

    It isn't going to be as simple as just the name.
    There are also different ways to connect and probably other parameters as well.
    SQL Server Enterprise Manager probably uses a discovery protocol. It probably sends one or more messages requesting information and those servers that want to respond.
    Note that none of that has anything to do with JDBC and discovering how it does that probably isn't easy. A packet sniffer might help.

    2 months ago, you asked a very similar question... and Markus gave you a good answer. His 2-months old answer still applies here.
    I recommend that you read it a again at Table name for backorder qty on sales order.

  • 11g bi publisher data model generic columns names for obiee data source?

  • How do you get the column names for a given table from an SQL LocalDB programmatically in Visual Basic.

    Just new to this and unable to find answers

    My solution
        Public Function GetTableColumnNames() As Boolean
            Form1.ListBox1.Items.Clear()
            _MDFFileName = String.Format("{0}.mdf", _DatabaseName)
            _sqlConnectionString = String.Format("Data Source=(LocalDB)\v11.0;AttachDBFileName={1};Initial Catalog={0};Integrated Security=True;", _DatabaseName, Path.Combine(_DatabaseDirectory, _MDFFileName))
            Dim cn As New SqlConnection(_sqlConnectionString)
            'put the table name in brackets in case it has spaces in it
            Dim SQLString As String = "SELECT * FROM [" & _TableName & "]"
            Try
                cn.Open()
                Dim cmd As New SqlCommand(SQLString, cn)
                Dim rdr As SqlDataReader =
                cmd.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.KeyInfo)
                Dim tbl As DataTable = rdr.GetSchemaTable
                'This shows all of the information you can access about each column.
                For Each col As DataColumn In tbl.Columns
                    Form1.ListBox1.Items.Add(col.ColumnName)
                    Debug.Print("col name = " & col.ColumnName & ", type = " & col.DataType.ToString)
                Next
                'Get each column.
                For Each row As DataRow In tbl.Rows
                    Form1.ListBox1.Items.Add(row("ColumnName"))
                Next
                rdr.Close()
            Catch
                MessageBox.Show("Error opening the connection to the database.")
            Finally
                cn.Close()
            End Try
            Return _Success
        End Function

  • How do I map the source file name to a target table?

    I am mapping a source fixed length flat file to oracle target tables. One of the tables is a parent transaction table that stores the date, record number, status, etc. and the file name of the source flat file. The file name will change daily because the date is part of the naming convention. Is there an easy way to determine the source file name and map it?
    One option a co-worker is working on is writing a pre-mapping stored procedure. It would insert the file name into a table prior to the mapping. But I was hoping for a cleaner solution.
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Use extarnel table to load the data from the file into the table.
    Create a procedure which changes the external table definition as the filename chnages.
    Use this proceudre in the mapping as a premapping process.

  • SQL Developer - mapping column names for csv import

    In Apex I can do a spreadsheet upload to an existing table and it asks me to map source data to existing table, and it usually has the columns correct. I don't know if it imports them in order or what(first column name in table maps to first column in csv file, etc). SQL Developer makes me choose the mappings myself - it doesn't attempt to do a mapping at all, and some of my fieldnames are exactly the same. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get SQL Developer to try to do the mapping for me?
    Note: in apex and sql dev, you should use csv only... they let you choose xls, but xls fails in both products every time.

    So I guess SQL developer can't do this?

  • How to get source table name according to target table

    hi all
    another question:
    once a map was created and deployed,the corresponding information was stored in the repository and rtr repository.My question is how to find the source table name according to the target table,and in which table these records are recorded.
    somebody help me plz!!
    thanks a lot!

    This is a query that will get you the operators in a mapping. To get source and targets you will need some additional information but this should get you started:
    set pages 999
    col PROJECT format a20
    col MODULE format a20
    col MAPPING format a25
    col OPERATOR format a20
    col OP_TYPE format a15
    select mod.project_name PROJECT
    , map.information_system_name MODULE
    , map.map_name MAPPING
    , cmp.map_component_name OPERATOR
    , cmp.operator_type OP_TYPE
    from all_iv_xform_maps map
    , all_iv_modules mod
    , all_iv_xform_map_components cmp
    where mod.information_system_id = map.information_system_id
    and map.map_id = cmp.map_id
    and mod.project_name = '&Project'
    order by 1,2,3

  • Invalid column name for the group attribute.

    Hi,
    Please help, I m struck with this for the past 2 days.
    Basically i have  big query and with cfoutput and group attribute; i m displaying hte results..
    It has 4 levels of grouping.
    Also, the grouping column will be different every time the user choose it.so I'm building an array to do it.
    Suppose the user choose only 3 columns, I'm manually adding the 4th column so that array has 4 values all the time.
    At time, i m getting this error, the column name is invalid.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
