Return Relative Values of Checkbox

I have a table filled with about 700 names in Column A and Checkboxes in Column B.
I have a second table where I want to display the names that are checked in the first table. This second table will have a set number of rows to make a small team of people (23).
How can I print each name that I have checked off from the first table in the second table?

APEX 4.0.1: $v() function doesn't return multiple values for checkbox?

I have a report that uses apex_item.checkbox(...) to generate checkbox. This report correctly displays a checkbox for each row. The source code generated in the html page is:

I want to use the javascript function $v() to get the values of the checked checkbox. I thought that this function return the values of all the checked checkbox separated by ':' but I notice that my code alert($v('P1_CHECKBOX')); returns each time only the value of the first checkbox if it is checked.
It returns '202' if the first checkbox is checked but nothing if only the second checkbox is checked and '202' if the first and second checkbox are checked.

first of all, $v, $x and $s are suppose to only work for page items and not for tabular form columns or manually generated HTML elements.
Second, I think your HTML code is not correct, because each of your checkboxes has the same ID. But the ID has to be unique in the browser DOM tree. So the different checkbox elements should actually be named P1_CHECKBOX_1 .. P1_CHECKBOX_3. Just have a look what is actually generated for a real checkbox page item. BTW, I think you shouldn't name these checkbox elements like a page item, because they are actually not page items. I think that could be confusing for other developers.

Values of checkboxes and radio buttons not recognised

Hi folks,
I have a bit of a strange problem and I'm hoping you can help shed some light.
Basically I have a form with various elements in it, some of which seem to have a problem telling my pl/sql code what their values are. The culprits seem to be radio buttons and check boxes. Now those are individual items created with the wizard within a specific section if the outcome is different from sql created form elements in tables.
The radio buttons is one field, let's call it :P100_RADIO which returns either 'AB', 'CD' or 'EF'. The checkbox, let's call it :P100_CHECKBOX is just one checkbox returning the value 'Y' if it's checked.
after submit, I have a process which among other things checks the value returned by those two elements to set a variable v_paid either as 'Y' or 'N'
as a small summary of what I'm trying to do, here's a code snippet:

I also mistakenly tried v_checkbox is null and it submitted fine, though the value of v_paid was still 'N'
I've tried changing the varchar2(1) to something greater, up to varchar2(4000) but that didn't make any difference.
So I seem to understand there's a discrepancy of types somewhere but I can't work out where or how to change that. In my code an insert is performed after the if statement and the value of :P100_RADIO is added to the table with the expected value.
After looking at the source of the page produced by Apex, I also tried to replace :P100_CHECKBOX with :P100_CHECKBOX_0 but that didn't make a difference either. It's possible Apex thinks :P100_RADIO and :P100_CHECKBOX are supposed to return some sort of arrays but just why it would just return a string in an sql statement beats me.
The worst thing is, I'm fairly certain the code worked the first time I implemented it. So if anyone has any idea of what's going on that would be quite helpful. As always, I have a nagging suspicion it's a silly tiny mistake somewhere I just can't see.

[UIX] How To: Return multiple values from a LOV

Hi gang
I've been receiving a number of queries via email on how to return multiple items from a LOV using UIX thanks to earlier posts of mine on OTN. I'm unfortunately aware my previous posts on this are not that clear thanks to the nature of the forums Q&A type approach. So I thought I'd write one clear post, and then direct any queries to it from now on to save me time.
Following is my solution to this problem. Please note it's just one method of many in skinning a cat. It's my understanding via chatting to Oracle employees that LOVs are to be changed in a future release of JDeveloper to be more like Oracle Forms LOVs, so my skinning skills may be rather bloody & crude very soon (already?).
I'll base my example on the hr schema supplied with the standard RDBMS install.
Say we have an UIX input-form screen to modify an employees record. The employees record has a department_id field and a fk to the departments table. Our requirement is to build a LOV for the department_id field such that we can link the employees record to any department_id in the database. In turn we want the department_name shown on the employees input form, so this must be returned via the LOV too.
To meet this requirement follow these steps:
1) In your ADF BC model project, create 2 EOs for employees and departments.
2) Also in your model, create 2 VOs for the same EOs.
3) Open your employees VO and create a new attribute DepartmentName. Check selected in query. In expressions type (SELECT dept.department_name FROM departments dept WHERE dept.department_id = employees.department_id). Check Updateable always.
4) Create a new empty UIX page in your ViewController project called editEmployees.uix.
5) From the data control palette, drag and drop EmployeesView1 as an input-form. Notice that the new field DepartmentName is also included in the input-form.
6) As the DepartmentName will be populated either from querying existing employees records, or via the LOV, disable the field as the user should not have the ability to edit it.
7) Select the DepartmentId field and delete it. In the UI Model window delete the DepartmentId binding.
8) From the data controls palette, drag and drop the DepartmentId field as a messageLovInput onto your page. Note in your application navigator a new UIX page lovWindow0.uix (or similar) has been created for you.
9) While the lovWindow0.uix is still in italics (before you save it), rename the file to departmentsLov.uix.
10) Back in your editEmployees.uix page, your messageLovInput source will look like the following:

14) Notice in the UI Model window that the 3 binding controls have been created for you, an iterator, a range and a binding for DepartmentId.
15) Right click on the DepartmentsLovUIModel node in the UI Model window, then create binding, display, and finally attribute. The attribute binding editor will pop up. In the select-an-iterator drop down select the DepartmentsView1Iterator. Now select DepartmentName in the attribute list and then the ok button.
16) Note in the UI Model you now have a new binding called DCDefaultControl. Select this, and in the property palette change the Id to DepartmentName.
17) View the LOV pages source, and change the lovUpdate event as follows:

</event>Thats it. Now when you select a value in your LOV, it will return 2 (multiple!) values.
A couple things to note:
1) In the messageLovInput id field we dont use the .path notation. This is mechanism for returning 1 value from the LOV and is useless for us.
2) Again in the messageLovInput we supply _uixState as an entry in the partialTargets.
3) We are relying on partial-page-refresh functionality to update multiple items on the screen.
Im not going to take the time out to explain these 3 points, but its worthwhile you learning more about them, especially the last 2, as a separate exercise.
One other useful thing to do is, in your messageLovInput, include as a last entry in the partialTargets list MessageBox. In turn locate the messageBox control on your page (if any), and supply an id=MessageBox. This will allow the LOV to place any errors raised in the MessageBox and show them to the user.

It took me some time to find the information I needed, how to use return multiple values from a LOV popup window, then I found your post and all problems were solved. Its working perfectly, well, almost perfectly.
Im always fighting with ADF-UIX, it never does the thing that I expect it to do, I guess its because I have a hard time letting go of the total control you have as a developer and let the framework take care of a few things.
Anyway, I'm using your example to fill 5 fields at once, one of the fields being a messageChoice (a list with countries) with a LOV to a lookup table (id , country).
I return the countryId from the popup LOV window, that works great, but it doesn't set the correct value in my messageChoice . I think its because its using the CountryId for the listbox index.
So how can I select the correct value inside my messageChoice? Come to think of it, I dont realy think its LOV related...
Can someone help me out out here?

Changing values in checkboxes via Applescript: A better? solution

I was trying to un-check all the marked checkboxes in a table using Applescript. Failed. Came in here and found a solution. It involved running a CLEAR on the cell. It worked, but it also cleared things I didn't want cleared (the background). So I found an alternative method:

As the first message in this thread was linked to AppleScript, here is a script designed to uncheck the two columns of checkboxes.

Standar ws ProjectByPartyQueryResponse_In is not returning any values

Hi gurus,
I'm trying to use the standar webservice ProjectByPartyQueryResponse_In in our landscape in order to get all the projects related to the person responsible for the project but the web service is not returning any values.
When I execute the service -using soapui- with the following values (or any other value for that matters):

The web service always returns :

The party Id exists and also de party role code and there is at least one project that has that party with that role. I'm sure because I use other web service to find a project by id and in the result the project has the <Party> section with those values.
I was looking for solutions, notes, threads in forums with no success, then i decided to debug the webservice and I did find the following line in the webservice code.

when that line executes the select always returns 0 values, then I look in the table IHPA using the SE16 without any filter and I found that my records exists!! but the select does not get it. I was wondering why the select is not working and then I filter the data in the SE16 using the same values that the query does

And I was surprised when the SE16 did not found any value even I was seeing in the previous screen with no filters!!!! And I supouse thats why the webservice is not working. I started making filters one by one, for example firts filtering just de PARVW = ZA and works, but when I filter just the PARNR = 20000143 the SE16 can't find any value, just when I put an * at the end of the number the SE16 returns all the values expected, Im guessing that the fields in the database has blanks at the end but this is a standar table and a standar program.
Have any of you had the same problem? is there anything that I can do? does anyone knows if this is an unkown bug? becaus I could'n find any note on the marketplace.
Any help would be appreciated.

The problem were solved but not using the Badi, because the badi only let you change the value of the var party_id and that var is declared as PARNR (of type numeric with length 10), and no mater wat you do the two 00 can´t be removed.
We solved the problem with an enhancement point in the code at the method "party_get_data", look at the beginin and at the end. We just change the type of var used for party_id.. now we use a CHAR one insted the numeric used by the original code.
And we repeat the select...

Hello guys,
Here is a brief summary of the network design. We have a School server in the Network A. The Main eDir is in a Network B.
The school server to access the Main eDir goes through a DNAT configured on our firewall.
During the different steps I can browse my ldap on the main eDir without any issue.
This to complete the information about Existing Tree Information, Local Server Configuration and Linux User Management Configuration for example.
However, at the moment of the eDir configuration (I use the GUI) the software returns an error -626 and ndsconfig returns a value of 78.
Our issue seam to arise when using the NCP for replication I guess. The questions are: is it possible to DNAT NCP and if it is what is missing?
Of course, if I were installing another server on the Network B and try with the same settings it will work.
I have seen in different posts that replication is not possible through NAT. However I can't find anything regarding the ncp protocol that would explain why our DNAT shouldn't work.
I opened these ports.

It could potentially work, but normally it does not work unless you do
some really interesting stuff with routing. Here is why:
When one server looks up how to reach another server, the way that
referral is given includes the target server's IP address, as seen by the
target server. As a result, if you are on 17u2.16.0.1 for serverA, and
you ask to talk to serverB which has address 192.168.0.1, the referral
(within the NCP packet) will tell the server to access 192.168.0.1. Since
neither 172.16.x.x nor 192.168.x.x are routable normally, and since you're
using DNAT, the addresses won't get to their destination and you have a
connection problem (-626).
The ability NCP has to provide addresses to clients and servers via
referrals, NDS Pings, and the like is really powerful because it means, in
a network that allows it, that any client/server can find any
replica-hosting server to be accessed directly. The downside of this is
that technologies which mess with the network layer by hiding IP addresses
break the way clients would access servers.
LDAP, for example, doesn't usually report anything about how to reach a
server. Normally a client knows which server to ask from the very start
and then goes there. Even with eDirectory, if an LDAP client accesses an
eDirectory server that does not have a replica of the desired object, then
by default the eDirectory server (not the LDAP client) goes and follows
referrals to find and return the object.
For these reasons, NAT is normally not supported between eDirectory
servers. Could you make it work? Probably assuming you can get your
routers to handle things properly, but it's going to be more than just
dropping things in place and hoping they work, and it will be more than
just allowing TCP/UDP ports through.

Radio Buttons - returning individual values from an exclusion group possible?

Using LC Designer 7.1
Does anyone know if it is possible to return individual values from an exclusion group of radio buttons? My xml data file gives one value for the entire group, e.g.,
2
...where the second radio button was selected. But I'd prefer an output something like this...
0
1
0
etc...
Is something in this format possible?

You might be better off to use checkboxes and script them to act like radio buttons (as an exclusion group). That way they'd each have an on/off value.

Return 'N' for unchecked Checkbox

OK, I am sure I must be missing something simple. Embarrassed to even ask this. But I want to have a single checkbox page item in a form that will return a 'Y' if checked and return a 'N' if unchecked. I tried setting the Default Value for the item to 'N' but when I check my table, I am still receiving a NULL in the table for the unchecked box.

F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST - how can I return all values from the line?

I'm using FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to show a pop-up with my internal table values. The internal table has 3 fields, ATINN, ATZHL and a description field ATWTB. ATINN and ATZHL are needed to complete the unique table key, however this FM will only return the value of one field in any line I select.
How can I see all the values in the line I select in the return table?
My code is as follows:

Use the structure DYNPFLD_MAPPING
With this internal table you can easily define that you want to return
other columns of the hit list in addition to field RETFIELD to the
screen.
In this IT you can MAP the screen fields to the serch help screen fields this has three fields
FLDNAME this is the field anme from the search help
FLDINH This has to be blank which would be field with the field value that you want to map
DYFLDNAME THis is the screen field name.
So here you can get the values for the other fields that you want which are on the search help just populate the name of the fields in FLDNAME.

What is reason for cl_fpm_factory= get_instance( ) return initial value?

In DEV system, this piece of code is working fine. However when it moves to Testing system it dump due to cl_fpm_factory=>get_instance( ) return initial value. What could be the reason for this? Thanks!

how sure are you that the DEV and Test system running the same Netweaver SP versions ?. My doubt is that the test system is not NW7.01 (Ehp-1) . Or some thigs are not enabled in the configuration.

Returning multiple values from a function

I am pretty new to actionscript and flex and one thing i am not entirly sure it is done is how to get the value in actionscript when returning multple values.
for example i have the following function:

How do go about getting the values of two returns:

To solve this problem you must use a object for storing complex return value.
You can do it using inline anonymous object:
public function sayhello():Object
     return {strHello: "hello";strWorld: "World"}
and accesing result as:
var obj:Object = sayhello();
var strHello:String = obj.strHello;
You may also create a custom class
class HelloWorldResult{
     public var strHello:String;
     public var strWorld:String;
and return a new instance of this class from your method:
public function sayhello():HelloWorldResult
     var hwr:HelloWorldResult = new HelloWorldResult();
     hwr.strHello = "Hello";
     hwr.strWorld = "World";
     return hwr;

Return multiple values from a method

For a school project I have to make a parameter-less constructor that can input values from the keyboard and calculate those values. Now that I have the values how do I return them? I need to return 3 values from this parameter-less method.
I hoope someone can help.

Returning multiple values from a table

Hi there i am working on a bit of sql which will return values when they exist in a table.
The code I have returns the correct value when there is only one entry in the tbl_studentmodules table, as soon as there is more than one entry in this table it displays no rows at all :(.
Can anyone point out how I go about returning multiple values?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are looking for, but I think a simple join may be what you need. something like:
select modulename
from tbl_modulefeedback mfb
   join tbl_studentmodules sm
      on mfb.modulecode = sm.modulecode
where upper(sm.student_id) = upper(:APP_USER)This will return the module name for all modules that the given student has provided feeedback for. If there is a possibility that a student/module combination could appear in tbl_studentmodules more than once, something like this might be better to show the modulename only once.

Return multiple values from a web method??

I am wondering if it's possible for a web method to return multiple values to a client. I know each web method can return only one value of a given data type. I am looking for something like ref or out keyword in C#. If it's not available, is there any workaround? Thanks.

Java web service endpoints can return multiple values by using the javax.xml.rpc.holders classes. The following post might help:
