Returning Error Status back from Form to external program

Question,
I am trying to run a form essentially from the command line. I need to programatically catch any error codes that might have occured in the form by an external program. I can find nothing about returning errors back from the form or how to display it.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Ah, sorry, there was so much talk about user decisions that I assumed you were using a standard decision task.
Still, I would be extra careful of changing the way workflow usually works because you have an unknown target audience that are based on the standard.
The standard SAP philosophy is quite simple: cancel/F3 or do nothing and it stays reserved. If you do not want it reserved, you need to perform an action. This is based on a majority of processes: in most cases when you execute a work item you will also be the one who is going to completed it. Replacing it is the lesser used of the two alternatives, therefore it is the only one that requires an action on the part of the user.
Again, this is intended as constructive input. Strange quirks and unusual behaviour tend to add a black mark to software if they do not make things easier to use. In many environments users are not even aware of the reserve/replace business, so there you would be adding an additional layer of complexity.
Personally I would find an exit popup annoying as a regular workflow user - regular decisions can be approved with one click, or I can back out with a single click if I need to make a phone call or look up some info before approving - but with this new-fangled thing I've got an extra button to click and an extra thing to think about. This is especially the case in a payment approval scenario where you may have users in some departments who may approve hundreds of payments each week.
My suggestion would be to leave it like that. By all means put an option into the user decision to put it back or to 'un-reserve' it (and loop round if the user chooses it). That way you are adding value and not clicks.

Any help would be appreciatedSCM security can be tricky to get right the first time you use it. Have you performed these operations in the global zone?:
- run es-config to add your SunMC userID to the scm-container ACL?
- made sure the Project Managment and Pool Management entries are in /etc/security/prof_attr and exec_attr files?
- added your SunMC userID to the Zone/Pool/Project entries in /etc/user_attr (or used the 'usermod' command to add the entries for you)?
If any of those steps were missed then SunMC (or Solaris) may not believe you have permisson to make changes to zones/pools etc. There are a couple of SCM docs listed in with the SunMC doc set:

The error is due to Oracle the reasons could be:
1. Number of open connection that Oracle Net can process simultaneously
2. Number of memory buffers which can be used simultaneously
3.Number of processes a particular database instance is allowed
In case of 1 and 2 its a harware bottle neck
In case of the 3rd point the number of process that the OraTNSlistener can listen to can be increased in the Initsid.ora file (but since this is for SAP i would suggest init<DBSID>.ora file.
But either ways check the logs files sqlnet.log or listener.log
for details of the error.
In most cases waiting for the open connections to close and then trying BRCONNECT should do it.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Error "Status change from READY to COMMITTED is not allowed"

Dear experts,
once again SAPs workflow environment drives me crazy with mysterious error messages.
Some time ago I posted a question here concerning the problem that I cannot put back a workitem by using function module SAP_WAPI_PUT_BACK_WORKITEM due to a lock on this workitem which has been set right after it has been double clicked in the business workplace workflow inbox:
[How can I put back a workitem before I'm back in the business workplace?;
Since I do not want to dequeue the lock for the workitem in my application (where the user finds the appropriate detail information along with the function buttons for approval, rejection and F3/BACK) I tried it with calling a POPUP_TO_CONFIRM ("Do you want to put back the workitem?") directly from within the BO-method, right after returning from the FM that called my application. From here (the popup then shows in front of the business workplace instead of the application) the locking doesn't seem to be a problem any more! But whatever I do after the users decision to put the WI back - calling the FM SAP_WAPI_PUT_BACK_WORKITEM or trying to leave the method with macro EXIT_CANCELLED - leads to the error message "Status change from READY to COMMITTED is not allowed" and the workitem changes to status ERROR, too. This message seems to be bull***t, since the status of the item is supposed to go back to READY.
Does anybody have experience to help me on that ?

Returning error to Javascript from Webkit plugin

I want to return an error and possibly error string using exception or any other means from a web kit plug-in to Java script. In the success case these functions returns NSString, NSNumber,... etc. Can some one pls. provide a sample code to return error code and/or error string, so that Java script can detect the error condition.

How to get error information back from Office Web Apps server?

I'm developing a web application with an embedded Word iframe that interfaces with an Office Web Apps server; I am trying to implement the MS-FSSHTTPB protocol for my WOPI server.
More details here. When I send a bad response back to the OWA server it stops making requests to the WOPI server and sends the following error message back to the browser client: "Sorry, there was a problem and we can't open this document. If this
happens again, try opening the document in Microsoft Word."

I'm trying to embed a Word editor in our web app. The Word iframe is served from the OWA server. It typically communicates with a SharePoint server to receive information about the document its trying to display.
I'm trying to implement the SharePoint portion. The servers communicate via the MS-FSSHTTPB protocol (among others) which I'm struggling to implement. When I send a response to the OWA server that it doesn't like then it stops replying. I'm wondering how
I can retrieve the exact error the occurred.
I believe I originally posted this question to Open Specifications > SharePoint Server Protocols.

How to open Workflow status monitor from form personalization

I am trying to open workflow status monitor page from special menu using form personalization and encountering below error message.

Error calling Report from Form

Hi,
I'd like to call a report using a Form.
I have Oracle Form 10.1.2 in Oracle Database 10g.
I create a button and specify a PL/SQL in the when-button-pressed

I have tried your suggestion.
I create my own report server using rwserver server=repsrv.
Another java-based windows showed up. It shows that repsrv is ready.
I do the following:
1. Navigate to http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet using web browser.
It showed OracleAS Report Services - Servlet Command Help page.
But there is no other window popup.
2. Navigate to http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?userid=PRACTICE/PRTC@MYDB&report=C:\PRACTICE\FORM\MODULE1.JSP&destype=cache&desformat=html&paramform=no&p_1=P1&p_1=P2
my schema is PRACTICE, password PRACTICE, and database instance MYDB
the report path = C:\FORM\MODULE1.JSP
The following error occured
REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server rep_<computer_name> failed
3. Finally,

I don't understand.
It seems that the Report Service is not recognized although the java-based window state that the Report Server (repsrv) is ready.
My questions:
1. Does it means that my report server is not running?
Or it is running but the browser didn't recognize it?
I use Internet Explorer 6 and Netscape 7, both of them showed the same error message.
2. I have read the PDF you've pointed out.
The paper said there is supposed to be 2 type of server, 'In process' and custom server.
Both of them will create a configuration file in /reports/conf in DevSuiteHomeDirectory.
I can see the custom report server's configuration file which I create using rwserver (repsrv.conf)
but I can't see the 'in process' server's configuration file (rep_<computer_name>.conf).
What am I supposed to do?

Error ORA-06502: FROM forms

I have medical application developed by forms 9i, But its responds error
ORA-06502 while running a form with enter query mode. it displys the said
error while execute the query . I dont the exeact SQL query returns this error. How to debug this? Is there any way how to find the sql text returns this error. Kinldy note that, I dont have the forms source code. Only executable available(fmx). I have TOAD too. can i use the toad to traceout it.

CRX operations giving error when invoking from Form

Hi All,
I am facing a weird problem while invoking CRX operations from the form.
I have a submit button on the form where on clicking that button I am calling a LiveCycle process. The LiveCycle process which I am calling contains CRX opeartions like CreateFolder and StoreContent. I have a string variable that is the input to this process and the issue is that when I am calling this process from the form I am getting a error saying "Unable to locate [/]". But if i call the process by giving the input string within the workbench then the process is getting executed without any error.
I am not able to figure the reason behind this since I am giving the same input to the process from the form and within the workbench.
Could anyone please let me know if you have any inputs on this?

I have checked in the form and the URL that is pointing to is correct. I am able to call the process from the form, only when executing the CRX operation I am getting the error. I have other few operations in the same process which are getting executed without any issues. Let me know your inputs on this.

Segmentation fault error while connecting from forms server

Hi,
From Oracle Forms application client, if I give sqlplus /nolog it works fine where as if I give sqlplus username/password@DATABASEBNAME, it is giving Segmentation fault error.
Could any one help? This problem is existing if I execute the command as oracle account. If I execute as non-oracle user (who has all privileges to run oracle stuff and all environment varilables like HOME, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, CLASS_PATH etc all stuff are correctly set)

To more specific class: all return error after upgrade from LV2011 to 2012

I have working projects/executables built in labview 2011. When loading the exact same project in 2012 EVERY 'to more specific class' returns an error.
For example, making a generic control reference into a 'numeric'.
Redoing the exact same action makes no difference. What has changed in LV2012?

Can you post an example VI containing such code? Please post the original 2011 code.
