Returning the SWF url in AS3
Hello. In as 2.0 there was a simple code like trace(_root._url) that would return the url of the actual swf file. What is the equivalent in AS3?
The samples I found were all realted to window.location and other things, is there no simple code for this like in as 2?
Thank you.
Thank you. I found that it was this.loaderInfo.url
It didnt work at first because I was trying with capital (Loader).

I am not sure what to add -- how can I return the URL address box on the top of the page ... along with the buttons to go to the previous page has disappeared and I can't make them come back ...
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up. -
Preloading in the swf itself AS3
Hello guys ;]
I need some help in AS3.
My problem is that I can't preload the content in the swf
movie itself.. I mean movie clips and images that are inside the
swf not external and so on.
In AS2 All I needed to do is this :
this.onEnterFrame = function() {
loadingAmount =
this.getBytesLoaded()/this.getBytesTotal()*60;
if (loadingAmount == 60 and sVars.loaded == true and
this.bigPicWidthsScript_mc.wVars.loaded == true) {
this.gotoAndStop(3);
delete this.onEnterFrame;
This is juat an example what used to work.. I copied this
part from a code I wrote time ago in AS2.
So all u had to do is put this code on frame 1 along with
some preloading graphics (small size), move all your movie clips u
want loaded before they actually show up and start your animation
to frame 2 as keyframe, and Put the ones who show up at the start
in your movie at frame 3 where you actually go when preloading is
finished.
So I want to do the same thing in AS3.. I've found tutorials
about preloading swfs images and so on but I don't need that.. I
need this one here.. so does anyone have any idea how to do that ?
I will be very grateful !
Waiting for replies,
Filip Nedyalkov
Also u had to set Export frame for classes = 2 (in the
publish settings),The reason you need it is because you are using the .text
property on a member of the _root object. (I'm guessing but it
wouldn't surprise me).
About the import statement
This is a personal philosophy and I'm open to valid
suggestion here but the Flash Player looks at your code and builds
a list of all the different classes that will be required at
run-time and need to included in the compressed swf. If you an
import like this....
import flash.display.*;
you are in theory including all of the classes inside of the
flash display package. This is not actually the case. Even if you
include the entire package in your code, all you are actually doing
is telling Flash that this path/package is available for searching
for the classes you are using in your document. Flash is only going
to include a list of "necessary" classes when it runs its compile
for your swf so keep that it mind. It is actually better to include
the entire package set in my opinion thus playing it safe.
It is a known bug and issue with preloading code inside
IE6(7?) that prevents any kind of update being pulled from the
browser concerning a files download. I've only had this issue in
IE7 myself but this doesn't affect me or work since I typically
only use the top level of a swf as a container for individual swfs
which I load in using the Loader class. You can read more about the
problem here (leads off to Actionscript.org forums with related
post on topic)...

You can try pacman -Syy --debug which will show the actual url it tries to access. When posting console output, please use the code tags.
I tried to upgrade the system.

Load url into!! the swf file
can i load a url into a continer on a stage (into the swf)?
i need to let users lunch url in the application without open
a new window or somthing like this...
it needs to load into a continer or somthing like this?
i know to load swf with swfLoder, i need the same thing only
to load any URL (insdate of wsf only)...
can you help me?Flex does not support the direct display of URLs. Flex does
have some capability to display HTML, but it sounds like it would
be too limiting for your use.

Christophe wrote this for Flex 1.5 but it might work for Flex

Edit:
If something is broken, you should ask on the AUR page for the maintainer to fix the PKGBUILD https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/openbox-menu/, but the PKGBUILD worked for me.

openbox-menu is from the AUR and not from the repos, so changing mirrors won't do anything here. You might want to read on what AUR is and deal with the issues with the signatures first.

The latest version has mitigation tools to remove RPMs that fail GPG checking.
In this instance, you need to manually delete the RPMs that pyCURL can't download. Once you delete all the RPMs, the next run of uln-yum-mirror will download them fresh and recreate the yum metadata locally. -
How to return the XMLDOM Document to the caller of a URL?
Hi,
We are using Oracle9.2 and have created applications and reports written in PL/SQL + Oracle Web Toolkit. A PL/SQL Package now generates an XML document using XMLDOM, and is invoked by calling an URL. The customer is looking for ways to create a kind if Web Service out of this Package, without using OC4J / JDeveloper to deploy it - they simply don't want to go there, yet.
The question then is: How can they simulate a Web Service by returning the content of the XMLDOM document in the URL? Creating an XML file on disk or putting the XMLDOM document into a CLOB works fine. But how can they most easily return the XMLDOM document to the caller simply by using the URL itself?
Please ask for clarifications if needed. Any good suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks, Eilev.Hi, I can answer my own question as it turns out the answer was just as simple as I was hoping for:
By printing the content of the XMLDOM document using HTP.PRINT it can easily be picked up and parsed by the caller.
Have a wonderful day :-) -
I've got my Rdweb accessible on both my internal and external network by using split dns locally to resolve the external url (remote.domain.com/rdweb) to resolve and everything works fine. However users don't want to use the rdweb interface (as it is slower
than just clicking on a rdp shortcut.
Following the notes at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14488.distribution-of-remote-apps-and-desktops-in-windows-server-2012.aspx - I've tried to set up the webfeed on a Win7+ machine but when I enter the external url that
is protected by an SSL cert the eventlog shows that the internal address is being used and it doesn't match the certificate. - "There is a problem with this connection's security certificate.

How do I set the servers to use the external address rather than the internal one - i'm assuming it's similar to exchange's

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Please check below mention point.
• Create a relevant DNS entry in the mentioned zone to point to the RDS environment’s internal IP address
• Create a relevant DNS entry in external DNS to point to the firewall which is publishing RDS’s external IP address
• You can use the below mention script to change the FQDN of the RDP files provided by RD Web Access / RemoteApp and Desktop connection feed.
Change published FQDN for Server 2012 or 2012 R2 RDS Deployment

In addition please check below mention thread.
How do I change the URL to the Remote Web Access server in Windows Server 2012?

Apart from this, also check the settings under; IIS in RDWeb Server as per below mention path.
Expand the default Website >Pages >Application Settings >DefaultTSGateway >
Enter the external address (FQDN) of the RD Gateway in the Value Field.
Hope it helps!

Strange behaviour of .swf movies - AS2/AS3
Hello from Italy,
this is my first post and I think I need some help from the experts...
I am putting together an interactive Flash movie which is made of several different small movies. For the sake of clarity, I'll call them A.swf, B.swf, ..., Z.swf. The movies are launched from each other depending on certain buttons I've implemented.
The first one, A.swf, is actually a sort of "main menu": it grants access to all the other movies and it is also the point of return from them when a certain button is pressed.
Important: All the movies are scripted in AS3, except for the last one which, for a number of reasons, is scripted in AS2.
The return from any (but the last) movie to the first, say B.swf to A.swf, is implemented like this:
function eventResponseSole(event:MouseEvent):void {
var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
addChild(myLoader);
var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("A.swf");
myLoader.load(url);
sole_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, eventResponseSole);
This is, of course, AS3.
The last movie, which is scripted in AS2, returns to A.swf like this:
luna_btn.onRelease = function() {
loadMovie("A.swf", _root);
The strange behaviour is this: if I launch Z.swf and navigate with the proper button up to A.swf, everything works. But if I launch A.swf, navigate to Z.swf and attempt to return, this doesn't work. There are no problems, instead, moving up and down between movies scripted in AS3, that is with the first bit of code I've pasted. My guess is that the syntax in AS2 is correct, but something stops A.swf from "launching itself" when the control is transferred to Z.swf, but the movie is launched in the original window. Is this diagnosis reasonable? And if so, would someone kindly provide a way out of this? Re-doing Z.swf in AS3 is not an option, I'm afraid, it will have to stay as it is. I also have to add I've tried some solutions by setting _lockroot, but this doesn't seem to work.
Many thanks in advance!
Marco OlivottoMixing AS2 into AS3 is not without stipulations... and I am no expert on translating those stipulations, but here is what the Flash documentation says regarding the matter... the third paragraph may be significant to your case:
- ActionScript 3.0 code can load a SWF file written in ActionScript 1.0 or 2.0, but it cannot access the SWF file's variables and functions.
- SWF files written in ActionScript 1.0 or 2.0 cannot load SWF files written in ActionScript 3.0. This means that SWF files authored in Flash 8 or Flex Builder 1.5 or earlier versions cannot load ActionScript 3.0 SWF files.
The only exception to this rule is that an ActionScript 2.0 SWF file can replace itself with an ActionScript 3.0 SWF file, as long as the ActionScript 2.0 SWF file hasn't previously loaded anything into any of its levels. An ActionScript 2.0 SWF file can do this through a call to loadMovieNum(), passing a value of 0 to the level parameter. -
Is DRM authorization specific to the .SWF?
I've made changes to my player and recompiled the SWF. When I play a video, the DRM voucher is invalid. However, on the same browser, if I play the same video from the same location using the original, un-modified SWF, the DRM voucher is valid. This leads me to believe that the DRM voucher is not only specific to my browser (or more specifically, the browser's Flash plugin), but it's also specific to the .SWF? I really hope I'm missing something here - this would mean new licenses would have to be retrieved every time I make a change to my player and recompile the SWF. Thank you.
UPDATE:
It appears the DRM voucher is specific to a .SWF file located in a specific directory. In other words, if I have the player in wwwroot/dir1 and retrieve a license for a piece of content, then I put the same player in wwwroot/dir2 and play the exact same content, the voucher is not valid. Can you confirm this?Flash Access supports SWF and AIR app whitelisting, which means that a license can specify that content may only be played in certain SWF or AIR applications. A SWF can be identified by its URL -- in this case, if you change the URL for the SWF, but only the original URL is specified in the license, then playback should fail, and the client should return error 3310. Alternatively, a SWF can be identified by a hash of the SWF content. If you make changes and recompile the SWF, teh hash value would change.
Check the policy used to package your content to see if a SWF whitelist has been specified, and if necessary, update the whitelist with your new SWF's URL or hash. If nothing is specified in the policy, check your license server to see if it is overriding the information in the policy. -
Hello,
I have swf file written AS3 and clickTag leading to some url. Now I would like to change that url in html using params of that swf file. I've added:
<param name="flashvars" value="clickTag=http://PageIwantToShowUponClick.com"/>
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
and it worked with file that had empty url and (I supose) it had AS2.
Any ideas how i could change URL in my swf?Hello, It seems that the problem in my case was either different name for clickTag in .swf AS or more likely wrong _root.click. For everyone that would like to test their clickTag there is a way: http://www.adspeed.com/Knowledges/1130/Problems_Ad_Serving/howto_troubleshoot_clickTAG_iss ues_Flash_ad.html.

In WL6.1 request.getParameter returns NULL for URL parameters that exist
With the following URL, I get different results between WebLogic 4.5.1 and WebLogic
6.1:
http://phx-kmccarthy.medspecialists.net/tsweb/ParametersTest.jsp?apple=macintosh&tree&dog&country=USA
Weblogic 6.1 returns:
query string = apple=macintosh&tree&dog&country=USA
apple = macintosh
tree = null
dog = null
country = USA
WebLogic 4.5.1 returns:
query string = apple=macintosh&tree&dog&country=USA
apple = macintosh
tree =
dog =
country = USA
here is the jsp...
<%--
* ParamtersTest.jsp which shows that empty parameters are ignored in WebLogic
6.1
--%>
<%
String apple, tree, dog, country;
apple = request.getParameter("apple");
tree = request.getParameter("tree");
dog = request.getParameter("dog");
country = request.getParameter("country");
out.println("<br>query string = " + request.getQueryString());
out.println("<br>apple = " + apple);
out.println("<br>tree = " + tree);
out.println("<br>dog = " + dog);
out.println("<br>country = " + country);
%>
From the documentation on the getParameter() method:
Returns the value of a request parameter as a String, or null if the parameter
does not exist.
In my opinion, not existing and being empty are different. Also, every other web
application environment we've dealt with (including WebLogic 4.5.1) treats them
as different. If the parameter doesn't have a value, (i.e. ...&tree&dog&...) then
getParameter() returns the empty string, not null.
As a result of this we have JSPs that break when running on 6.1.
Found the solution at last. Tomcat servlet container can't handle the chunked transfer-encoding that the J2ME Wireless Toolkit uses when you call outputstream.flush() in midlet. Using outputstream.close() instead of outputstream.flush() will avoid this problem for small requests. For all the codes in the articles on Http Post in Wireless Forum, don't use outputstream.flush() and it will run perfectly - Servlet's request.getParameter(parameterName) will work fine in doPost method.

How can i get the full URL of a page displayed rather than just the main website URL
I'm using Safari 8.0 on an iMac. When I go to a website I'm used to seeing a specific page URL displayed /changing as I navigate around a site through its various subsections etc. Now after updating to Yosemite all I get is the URL of the general website. This means I can't make specific references/links in work that I'm doing/sharing. There must surely be a way of getting the info into the bar so that I can copy it .... can anyone help please?

You need to use the propert PathKey; I think CONTENT_ACCESS should be correct. -
Return the User to the Calling Page - doesn't work
Hello All,
I set up the "Issue tracker" tutorial to get in tuch with the apex (htmldb vers. 2.0)
All is working well but: Return the User to the Calling Page -> doesn't work. I performed all steps as descriped in the tutorial (iclusive the '.' on the &P7_PREV_PAGE ;-) ).
I use my own aplication at home and followed all the instruction steps few times but it does not work. Can you help me please?
Do I have to install something more?
In the Branch section: * 1: Go To Page &P7_PREV_PAGE. (Unconditional)
In the Item section: 90: P7_PREV_PAGE Hidden
In the Button section for cancel Button: &P7_PREV_PAGE.
Here is the description of the function in the tutorial:
Because this Create/Edit page will be called from several places, when users finish with the display they should return to the calling page. To accomplish this, you create an item and change the branch on this page. Every time this page is called, the item must be set with the number of the calling page.
To create a hidden item:
1. Under Items, click the Create icon.
2. For Select Item Type, select Hidden and click Next.
3. For Display Position and Name:
1. For Item Name, enter:
P7_PREV_PAGE
2. For Region, select Issue Identification.
3. Click Next.
4.
Click Create Item.
Next, edit the Cancel button.
5. Under Buttons, select Cancel.
6. Scroll down to Optional URL Redirect.
7. In Page, enter:
&P7_PREV_PAGE.
Note the period at the end.
8. Click Apply Changes.
Next, edit the branch.
9. Under Action, enter the following in Page:
&P7_PREV_PAGE.
10. Click Apply Changes.
All steps are done but I still got the message: Error ERR-1016 Application "106" Page "0" not found (requested language="de")
OK
I move the mousepointer over the cancel button: javascript:redirect('f?p=106:0:5265993428922076876::NO:::')
Thank you for helping me!
best regards ThorstenAll,
I haven't looked at that tutorial for quite a while but just gave it a quick look.
Further down in the tutorial, it directs you to set the value of P7_PREV_PAGE, under Add Functionality to Support Adding Multiple Issues Sequentially - have you done that? There is also a mention that there is more branching to be done - "The branch you just created is looking for a value in P7_PREV_PAGE. Since the page was not called from another page, the value has not been set. You need to fix that next." It goes on to have you define that value from other places.
Can you describe what you are doing when you get the error? There could be something missing from the tutorial. A way around it would be to create a default value for P7_PREV_PAGE so that if it is not set, a default page will be used.
